This is the worst Walmart I've ever gone to. I went to the Service desk to pick up money from Moneygram they couldn't find the papers and when I asked for a manager everyone was clueless. If you like yourself do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Not clean at all and some of the staff have attitudes like we should be glad for them. No more for me I will pay a little more and go to Target for peace of mind. read more

Neat and organized. Customer service is ok. Parking lot is always crazy but prices are great and big variety of household needs, toys, jewelry and clothing. It would be nice if they had a frozen and cold food section. read more

I have experienced a very unwelcoming,unhelpful attitude at Walmart pharmacy in Stratford. The people at the register work, at not making eye contact, an art form. Last night 1/13/16 at approximately 7 pm I had to pick up a prescription for a very sick friend. I was expecting the same lack of responsiveness but I was pleasantly surprised by the lovely helpful young woman at the counter. Her name is Peta. There were 3 of us in line and one older disabled woman at the counter. She acknowledged us all while continuing to resolve the issue with the older woman. She set the tone for the apparent wait by being pleasant,efficient and helpful. All while smiling. Peta should be mentoring the staff in the art of customer service. read more

2.5 stars This Wal-Mart is leaps and bounds better than the one in Norwalk on Conn Ave but its still not great. The layout is awful. However, I have actually gotten good customer service here a few times, which is non existent in most Wal-Marts. The selection is probably the best around here as well. read more

I find it much harder to shop here now that they display the spanish side of so many items. The store itself is a little run down and messy, but the prices are great. I took an item to the customer service desk because it was the only one left on the shelf and the box was damaged. I wanted the woman to open the box so I could see if the item was also damaged and if not, I would buy it. She told me I had to pay for it first because she wouldnt be able to sell an opened box. Really? If I buy it and its damaged and I return it, isnt the box open and the item not good for sale? Once I made her understand the logic, she opened it. it was fine. I bought it. read more

It is now 10:01 and Walmart has been closed now for 10 minutes ?!?!? What time does Stratford location close on a Saturday ?

Was shopping at this Walmart and had an incident with another customer. It took 5 minutes for the sales associate to get a manager or security to assist me. It eneded up that the police needed to get involved. When asked to get the secutury camera footage of this particular incident the manager stated that nothing could be seen in the footage other than our heads. I will not go to this location again. read more

I work in Bridgeport ct,every Saturday morning around 9:30 am I go to Wal-Mart to do grocery shopping.On Saturday 7/28/18 had two coupons buy one body wash get one free,the cashier tried to apply the coupons and they would not go through.He turned his light on for the managers assistance no one came for Five minutes he to go to find her.The cashier said the customer has the correct items but the coupons would not go through.Supervisor Pamela made me feel as though using coupons was a crime and was rude to me and also to the cashier who by the way was very polite.This is why people make recordings and put them on social media.Pamela zero rating for you you can do better. read more

This store is not set up in a logical way. I tried to buy an item that was locked in a case and despite a page for assistance after 5 minutes no one showed at the display. I doubt I'll ever shop in this store again. read more

I shop at other Walmarts regularly, this is the worst Walmart location I've been to. I can only describe the atmosphere as "ghetto", mainly due to the throngs of people it attracts. It is always extremely crowded with unpleasant, rude people. read more

This place is disgusting. There's trash all over the parking lot, the employees are super unprofessional. One was even swearing very loudly in front of children. There's never more than 3 registers open, so annoying. read more

The young people at the exit doors,( not all of them) but a couple of them are rude. They're not friendly, never a smile. Really shouldn't wear a yellow vest. Maybe they would do better alone in a dept. Interacting with customers isn't for all of them. It makes NO sense speaking to some of them, because they look right pass you.I remember the time when you always got a friendly hello, and a pleasant " Come Again, Have a nice day". this is by far one of the worst walmarts in the u .s.a. I have shopped them all and here in Connecticut I usually go to the superwalmarts but since covid hours are awful and everything closes way too early, so I was on my way to Bridgeport and stopped in this Stratford Walmart, it was a very hot day, I am older and have arthritis all over my body so with the heat it makes it so much worse, believe it or not, and I have to wear clothing that is hot because of varicose veins and long pants with stretch, not shorts, well to make a very long story a bit shorter, I got in with the facemask making it hotter, and did my shopping as fast as I could , they have very bad inventory and had nothing much in the pet area or in the paper goods, I grabbed a big pack of the angel soft toilet tissue since I figured it was hard to find and I only use this brand, and I was shopping for my elderly mother and got her some items and including the great value large pack of toilet tissue and many other items and cat food, I get to the line, I put my stuff on the belt , I asked the cashier to pack like items together since some of it would be crushed, etc etc I paid part of it with a visa gift card and she kept telling me it would not work and so I got a front end person to figure it out in a few seconds and he was trying to explain it to her and she was turned facing another employee and ignored him wow all i can say is wow and it gets BETTER i go out to my car parked way far and it is 95 w ith 100%humiidity,I unload the cart to the car a small car, and I look over the receipt realizing that I WAS NOT CHARGED FOR BUT ALSO DID NOT RECEIVE A CASE OF FANCY FEAST CAT FOODS AND A LARGE PACK OF THE ANGEL SOFT TOILET TISSUE omg i had to go back inside the store and stand in a line at the courtesy counter, store had no ac on it was BRUTAL and then someone that was kind offered me a bottle of cold water and I explained to her what happened, she said the items most likely got returned so I had to RESHOP for them , stand in another line and then I looked and saw I was double charged for another case of friskies cat food, that cashier let me take another one to not stand in line at courtesy again, I paid for my MISSING ITEMS and left, trying to call them is impossible they do NOT answer the phone, it was the WORST HANDS DOWN WORST WALMART EVER AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS DRIVE TO THE SHELTON CT STORE NOT FAR FROM THERE AND VERY NICE PEOPLE THERE. read more

Hands down the ghettoist Walmart I have ever shopped in. The employees attitudes absolutely disgust me. Whenever you ask them for help they act like it's an inconvenience. I live in Stratford and visit this store quite often due to its convenient location and I can say I have NEVER ONCE came across a friendly and professional employee there. I was recently picking up an online order in the store and after i entered my name into the computer and sat on the bench to wait for it, the employee continued to conversate with another employee about food and what they are doing after work even though i was literally sitting there in front of them waiting. They also always only have 2 registers open which not only causes customers to get aggravated but it also causes some disrespectful customers to lash out at the cashiers even though it is not their fault they are the only ones working the front end and they are doing the best they can. This Walmart needs a serious management overhaul. read more
