This walmart is awful. I know I'm here on a Sunday but there's no excuse for bad service, nasty bathrooms (2 out of 2 stalls I looked at had no locks and a lady told me none of them did, then no paper towels, not to mention all the toilet paper on the floors) and I just love how everyone in the pharmacy takes their lunch at the same time. My guess is there's only one actual legal pharmacist on staff. So yeah. Gonna move my prescription elsewhere. Not worth it. read more

Two words: Never Again. Ugh, I feel so disgruntled after leaving here today, and I'd like to think that I am a pretty patient person. A friend of mine just had a baby and registered at Wal-mart, so I decided to drive a bit further and go to the newer, bigger Wal-mart a couple towns over to do my shopping. I was excited to shop when I first arrived. Unfortunately that excitement quickly faded to frustration. First of all, the kiosk where you print the registry was difficult to find. One would assume that it would be at the customer service center, but no, it was located at the jewelery counter. Once I located the kiosk I quickly realized that it was not working. In addition, there was no one working the jewelry counter to help me. So I look around and notice 3 employees approximately 20 feet to my left standing in a group together chatting, laughing, and having a good time. As I approach the group I am slightly surprised to see that one of the employees badges says "store manager" (there was another guy standing at the jewelery counter who wasn't being helped either... you'd think one of them might actually try to do their job and work). The manager asks me if he could help and I share that I would like to print a gift registry. One of the girls with him responds "it's broke". Then another woman says "I think you can print it by the electronics department". The other girl responds "I don't know how to do that". Anyway, to make a long story short, they walk me to the back of the store and tell me to wait while they print out the registry for me. So I stand there and wait, and wait, and wait. I stood there for almost 10 minutes before someone came back out (I thought they had decided to ditch me). At this point I'm feeling irked, but I keep my calm, at least they were able to print the damn thing for me. As I walk to the maternity section, I notice that they are out of over half of the items on the registry list. I spend another 15 minutes trying to track down a couple of items on the list. When it comes time to check out the cashier informs me that the diaper bag I pick out costs more in store than what is listed on the registry and that they won't match the price. Thanks. I could go on and on about all the little things that added up to make this experience miserable, but I am tired. Never again. Not worth it. read more

Ladies at the deli/bakery have attitude problems. After experiencing quite few unpleasent visits to the deli and bakery section I have decides to finally rate this store. Even after they see you they pretend to be doing something else. Today after standing and staring at them for few minutes I asked "is there somebody here that can help me" one of them with a very rude look and attitude answered "what do you want" . Whatttt? What kind of customer service is that? I give up on this store. Just drive to the one in Naperville. They treat you well over there. read more

This store in my opinion has some of the most disrespectful and deceitful workers at the service desk including a service manager named Israel and an assistant store manager named Robert. I will be contacting Walmart Home Office about my specific problem with this store and the poor customer care and service that I received. Sam Walton's original thoughts concerning taking care of the customer is not upheld at this store. I would not recommend this store. read more

2/20/19, 9:30 am or so. This is the usual Walmart my wife shops at, so there often. I went today to purchase some ammo and couple other items. I looked for an associate in sporting goods for about 3-4 minutes, found a very helpful woman. She paged someone to help me get ammunition, as they need someone with the key. 8-10 minutes go by and no one. Helpful assoc sees me again with no help, she again pages someone to help. Another 8-10 minutes go by, no one. Helpful assoc sees me again with no help, she again pages someone, just then an asst mgr shows up. She is just oozing attitude and arrogance as she approaches. Says " what you need", I tell her. She's ringing it up, my foid card and cash out, she says can't do cash, no money in the till. Who can't do cash? Helpful assoc yells to her that yes there is cash. Asst mgr ringing it up again, holds out her hand, I ask what do you need? FOID card!!! ATTITUDE! ATTITUDE! ATTITUDE!!! I now say I don't want this stuff that bad, put back other items I was buying, I leave ( should have left everything there). On way out another helpful assoc asks if she could help, I explain the episode, she apologizes. I ask to see store mgr, difficult to track down, he doesn't have voice mail either as I tried to call. That is the reason for this review. I dislike this Walmart with a passion, have way before this incident. Wish I'd have gotten name of helpful assoc. thank you to her. This is the worst Wal-Mart I've ever gone to. Every time I've been here, the service is horrific. I'm lucky of one of the people I encounter is friendly or speaks English. Forget getting both. One of the workers I encountered saw my name tag and, upon realizing I work with kids with autism, suggested autism teachers carry tasers. It doesn't matter what time of day you go, the store will be a mess and the workers will be rude. read more

Sadly the quality of this store just continues to get worse over time. I remember it being a nice, clean, and efficient store when it first opened. Recently went here late at night to get some bread and eggs for the next morning. Waited 15 minutes in line bc a customers check wouldn't go through for the box of wine he was buying. Filthy from the parking lot to the back of the store. Exceptionally poor customer service in the lawn and garden area. Had a young lady on her cell phone that I had to interrupt for help in finding something. She did not end her call and just kept the phone to her ear the whole time. I came back to check out and she was kicked back on a lawn chair. When I asked her if the register was open she said yes. I walked up there and no one was at the register. I walked back toward her and looked for another associate. After walking around looking for someone and going back toward her again she finally got up. She did not say anything to me and walked toward the register. I assumed she would ring me up. At the register she still had the phone to her ear and continued her conversation. She did not state the price and just stood there. I swiped my card and she handed me my receipt without saying anything. I said thank you and she just walked away. I tried calling the store to speak with a manager, but the person who answered said no managers were available. They took my name and number, but after 90 minutes I have still not received a call back. Walmart continues to live up to my expectations. read more

Extremely poor customer service. One day I tried calling in to check on my pickup order in the Auto Care center and the associate was cutting me off and trying to tell me they are closed, as if I was supposed to knew they were going to be closed due to "staffing issues" during open business hours. The next day I called again to check if they're open, but no one in the Auto Care center was answering. Then I called for an associate and lady that answered cut me off and transferred me to the Auto Care center before I could even finish what I'm checking for. I called again and same lady cut me off AGAIN and transferred me. Then I called a third time and told her not to hang up and I asked for a manager who was able to finally answer my question. This is definitely not my first negative experience with this location..I dread going to here when I have to. And these companies wonder why everything is being sold online now. read more

This is the most convenient store to my house. However, after my last 3 visits being less than impressive, I will no longer be a patron of theirs. My first experience, involved the cashier who couldn't get her register to work. After I had unloaded all of my groceries from my cart onto the conveyor, she moved to a different register and stood there watching while I moved all of my things from the first conveyor to hers. Then, when she started ringing up the groceries on the working register, she actually complained about the fact that she was late for her break. This time, I ran into grab a quick package of diapers late at night. There were 2 registers open and about 20 people in line. I stood in the first line that appearrd to be open, and after standing there for about 5 minutes, the cashier very abruptly stated in a nasty voice "I'm not open." Walmart used to have such a good standard for customer service, but I believe those days have passed at the North Aurora store. read more

This place just sucks. Rude employees, long checkout lines, carts all over the parking lot, no working handicapped carts, dead fish in the fish tanks, they're routinely out of normal everyday items on my list (bread, milk, cheese), and the disorganization in the store is ridiculous! Good luck if you're looking for a specific item (earmuffs, mittens, a plain white shirt...) It's the closest store to my house, but I'd rather drive out of my way to shop at a clean, well organized store with helpful and courteous employees: Woodman's, Jewel, Target; even despite Walmart's "low" prices (which really aren't that great, especially if you look for sales and use coupons at the other stores.) read more

If you love waiting in line and being treated like a nuisance, this is the Wal~Mart for you.... I have had a myriad of bad experiences at this particular Wal~Mart--It is terrible. Once, I went there for a turkey baster and a juicer (hand-held). They had neither. I talked to an employee and she said the kitchen goods manager wasn't very good. Another time, I went there for apples, lunch meat, and bread. It took 35 minutes. I waited in line as a "customer service manager" was assisting a patron with a WIC purchase (there was some confusion about whether an item was eligible or not). The manager was getting frustrated and so were the customers waiting in line. Instead of looking any of the patrons in the eye and giving them a simple, "sorry for the delay" she simply sighed over and over again and then walked off. I chased her down after my purchase and told her how unprofessional her actions were--She agreed. Later, I talked to the assistant store manager. He simply said he was sorry I had a bad "shopping experience." Another time, I ordered something site-to-store. They charged me and then when I picked up the items, one was not in stock. Also, they tried to give me some other persons order--I realized it was not correct immediately. I was refunded for the one item not in stock...No Biggie, but this "convenient" mode of shopping took more than 15 minutes. Then, when I got home, I looked up where the item was in stock. Unfortunately Wal~Mart still had the best price by a significant margin. The closest Wal~Mart where it was in stock, according to walmart.com, was at the Kirk Road store I just got back from. I called and asked if they had the item, I was transferred to "electronics" since they evidently handle "toys." No one answered. I was bounced back to the front desk and then told I would get a supervisor. The supervisor was huffy and short so I let him have it. I told him how big of a pain this site-to-store thing had been and how unprofessional they all were. He then actually took the time to find the item. He called me back and evidently their stock people had left it back in the back and not restocked the item--That's why the item wasn't "in stock" originally. Don't shop here, it's not worth the hassle. If you want groceries, go to Woodman's. If you want other goods, shop somewhere where they treat you like a customer instead of an inconvenience. read more

Not my liking. I used to be a fan of Walmart but not recently. Every time I have to this place it looks like a war went through it. There is things/stuff everywhere. It's a mess. Hardly anyone around to ask questions, or if you need help with an item (if it's locked up). I've done pictures here and I refused to pay for them bc the quality and color was horrible. Today (middle of December) I was picking up some items I ordered online and the lady that was helping me was a complete ***hole. When I was checking out my items that I bought in store (two items-bc I hate this place so much) this lady was complaining how she needed a brake and how she hates her job bc she never gets a break. Well that same lady ended up "helping" me get my online order to me. She had the worse attitude the entire time. She was bitching to another employee how she needs a break whenever she is done helping me. I had all my stuff in order so I could get the heck out of there. I didn't want her vibes nor did I want my little one around her with that kind of attitude. Holy moly. Everyone has bad days but watch what you say in front of the customers. No one likes bad attitudes especially at a place they don't like coming to in the first place. read more

Absolutely horrible!!! Ordered a pool online, said ready for pickup, drive all the way there with excited kids only to find out they don't even have it! They wouldn't refund $ so I could buy elsewhere so now have to wait about 3 days to b put back on my card, leaving me broke. So no pool for my family's 4th of July! Management just didn't care or offer any options. Completely unprofessional and unorganized!! read more

Not that bad as far as cleanness but what's the point of selling flowers when they are all dying. Half are a little wet and the rest are bone dry. We went for strawberry plants and they only had four and they were all dead and who in their right mind would pay three dollars for that. read more

While I enjoy Walmart's large selection and affordable prices, this particular store definitely has some problems. While I do enjoy seeing the boisterous door greeter, typically get some decent cashiers, enjoy the store's layout, and have encountered some very nice people working in certain departments (for example, this one lady in electronics went out of her way to retrieve for me the new Aerosmith CD from the back of the store so I could have it the morning it came out), this store has its share of problems. For one, it is typically a frickin' zoo every time I come here. There are few times when this store is not busy and not filled with people taking their ENTIRE family to the store...seven kids, live-in boyfriend, mom, dad, grandma, aunt, uncle, and all, just clogging the aisles. And then you have people like me trying to get in and out of there as fast as possible. It's just a recipe for disaster. In addition, this store is routinely sold out of items I'm looking for, including simple items like chicken patties, milk, and cream cheese (or they are simply bad at stocking and inventory or have a corporate-level distribution system that is extremely flawed). Having worked at Walmart before (including a two-week stint at this store and 6 months at another one), I can definitely say that it's usually not the stocking that's the problem...it's typically a very flawed distribution system, flawed inventory management, and problems with suppliers. Regardless, Walmart needs to get their act together and either build another store in this area, or get better managers and hire more staff. The people at this store also don't understand that when you're doing a feature, you need to make sure the item's "home" is always fully stocked as well. There's been many times when I've thought an item was sold out, because everything had been moved to the feature display, leaving the item's "home" empty. Whoever is in charge of that needs to be sent back to training. Finally, the checkout lanes are always atrocious. At peak times in the evening, waiting 10 minutes to be checked out is not unheard of. They never have enough checkers. And why they don't have self-checkout lanes, I do not know. Big mistake. And I will echo others' comments on the parking situation, which is just a disaster. This store is incredibly mismanaged. They also treat their employees like scum. I worked here third shift for 2 weeks trying to make some extra money as a side-job. I work in a white collar job during the day, but they still treated me like I was straight out of prison or high school and had an IQ of 50. I know some of the employees need to be treated like that, but not all. Their wages are also not competitive at all. I was paid $1 per hour more at the Huntley store. The managers are not friendly, very brute, and you just feel a negative vibe constantly. Not a great environment to subject your employees to in a store that definitely needs more positivity. You allow a negative working environment, then I will leave, and you will lose a great employee. And to my understanding, this store in particular has a very high employee turnover rate. Gee, I wonder why. And at the end of the day, this all trickles down to the customer experience. Walmart Stores, get your act together and improve this store now, get the new one at 75th & 59 built, and build another one along Eola somewhere. Jewel is starting to become more competitive with their pricing on a lot of items and is light-years ahead of Walmart in just about everything else. I think I may be doing a lot of my shopping there now, unless this store sees some drastic improvements. read more

wow, just left walmart for some late night shopping, only one lane was open out of the 33 they have like usual. The line was all the way into the women clothing.. as I leave i counted 9 employees sitting on the wall smoking.. Not only that there were TONS of carts in the parking lot! Considering it is a fairly new walmart they should be on top of that! The only thing good about it is the old Harley greater! He doesn't have the best job but he makes the most of it! I went to Walmart around 10 o'clock to grab some of my products that I had to get. I proceeded to the checkout and only 2 registers were open out of 30. The line had at least 25 other people in it. After waiting for at least 20 minutes I got to the checkout and checkout. When I was walking out the door there was 8 employees outside smoking and talking about their weekend. Usually I wouldn't have a problem with that, but when I had to wait in line for that long just to get a few products, I was questioning why they weren't inside being a cashier. That's what really upset me about this experience. read more

The greeter is always friendly. This walmart is doing better with the lines(I don't know if it's just for the season). We usually always find what we need except for the women's makeup department. They are always out of stock and half of the things are open already. read more

BEWARE! I ran into some issues with this location. This particular store makes internal policy that only seems to apply to this particular location- and no other Walmart. They make up rules- i.e. asking for ID for liquor -not only if you are the purchaser, but also for any adult in line along with you (the other party was my husband). Never heard of this (I live in Chicago- and believe me I've bought plenty of liquor) but when I pressed for an explanation, I was told this was "State law". Really?? When asked for a manager- I was given the run around for almost 40 minutes. When she finally showed- she could not come up with an explanation, but said 'this is what we do here at this location." Fast forward a week later- my husband accidentally washed a money order he purchased at this location in a pair of jeans. We could still read the numbers on the damaged form, but when we spoke with a manager (J------), she stated that they would not help with reissuing the money order at this particular location, but she readily admitted that other walmarts would still honor it and reissue. When asked why- she stated "we just don't do that here". WTF?? We ended up calling Money Gram directly who agreed to process the replacement. We're done screwing around with this location- we are going to the location in Geneva instead. The customer service here is bad- and they don't seem to care much what you think about it. read more

I will never go back to this walmart, or any other walmart for that matter. The staff there are very rude and do not appreciate your business...there was a price discrepancy for an item I was purchasing on friday and rather that actually go and check the price on the display the associate argued with me, and with the other people I was shopping with when they told her that the price on the sign was not what the item was scanning for. This associate then told me I could have ONE of the four items for the display price .98 and then the others at 1.98! first of all for an item as small of an amount as this you override it, end of story. You don't argue with the customer EVER. You don't give the customer an attitude. I should have asked to speak to a manager right then and there but I was so mad at this staff member I just wanted to get out of there...I work hard for the money I make and will think twice from now on about where I CHOOSE to spend it. read more

I am posting this as a warning to others who have purchased car batteries at this Walmart and come here to get testing done. If you are just on the other side of your warranty period and they say you need a new battery--beware. Here is what happened to me: On January 17th we brought our SUV to this Walmart's service department to get a tire rotation and to get the battery tested. (We bought our tires and battery from Walmart.) We were told it would take 45 minutes. When we came back 45 minutes later, we were told by a woman that the SUV tire rotation and battery testing were done but that the service employee needed to talk to us about the battery. We were told by an employee who later identified himself as Carl (no name tag so don't know if I am spelling that correctly) that our battery was low, was just past it's warranty period and needed to be replaced. I told him that that seemed odd as I had just gotten it tested several months prior (at that same Walmart) and was told it was fine. He told me that "it's what the machine said. It needs to be replaced." My gut told me that something wasn't right. On Monday, January 20th I returned to the department with the battery test reports in hand from when I had gotten it tested in mid-October as well as the report from January 17th. Carl was helping another customer and another employee came up (Niranjan) to help. He took one look at the testing results and said--the one from October is right. The one done on January 17th is wrong. Someone plugged in the wrong numbers into the machine. My battery was re-tested by Niranjan and it came up that the battery was fine--it just needed to be re-charged. So, on January 17th, Carl insisted that I needed a new battery when, in fact, I did not. It would really look like a scam if people worked on commission--which they do not--so it really makes no sense to me; just carelessness--perhaps. More disturbing is the fact that when I mentioned all this to Carl he didn't seem to get it. He certainly did not apologize. He just made a lot of excuses. I decided to do a follow up call on January 27th and this is what happened. The phone rang 25 times (I counted) before anyone answered. Then I was put on hold after I asked to speak to the manager in the service department or the manager of the store. After a long wait, a woman finally came on the line. I asked her if she was a manager. She said she was an assistant manager and that the manager of that department wasn't available. She was very unfriendly and when I asked her to spell her name--at first she refused! She said, "Tell me why you are calling first." Her name was Roop. I told her the whole story and she took my name and phone number but nobody ever called me from the service department regarding what happened. To me, this is not just bad customer service but could potentially be considered illegal--telling customers that they need to replace the battery, when they really don't--after finding out they are just on the other side of the warranty period. I really want to make sure this does not happen to any other customers. Beware. If you purchased your battery here--get your battery tested just before the warranty expires and if it is just on the other side of the expiration, and they tell you, you need a battery--get a second opinion. read more
