I love Walmart for their reasonable prices & because they offer pick up, it's just today I had a bad experience. I am currently in my car waiting for my things which I understand that they're busy and are probably under staffed but the thing that just doesn't sit well with me is that I called the check in number because my order was listed as picked up when I've been waiting in my car for the last 40 mins without my order so I wanted to see why was it listed as "picked up at 4:03" when I am still waiting? So I thought let me call and see what was going on (called at 4:25pm) it's now 4:44. When I called I spoke to a man and he was pretty rude, I was about to ask him a question and he cut me off asking for my pick up name and so I told him. I then tried to ask him a question and he cut me off by saying that my things should be right out and hung up on me when I was talking. I understand they're busy but shoot don't be rude either. I just had a few questions but he decided to be rude and hang up on me. I didn't get my things till 4:55pm till an associate acknowledged me and asked me personally for my name. I come ALL the way from East side Bakersfield, extremely sick, to this 24 hour Walmart thinking I can get my medicine here. Well I was mistaken. They have the whole area shut down because they're "waxing". I ask a worker that I need to purchase something from the medicine area, you can hear in my voice how sick I am, only to be told, "you can't it closed for waxing until 4 am". Well thanks for wasting my gas, my time, and preventing me from getting well. This isn't the first time I come and they're "waxing" closing down MAJOR parts of the store. This particular Walmart has serious problems, and I have to blame the management. We observed no less than 20 employees loitering outside the other night with only 1 cashier on duty with a long line. Today, at 6PM, only 4 checkers were working. I made the mistake of taking the line of an incompetent 17 year old who forgot two of my coupons, somehow forgot how to accept Walmart Pay, which any other cashier has no problem with and was more focussed hitting on her manager who had to make the very important alcohol purchase and card me (I'm pushing 60) while she squirmed and treated me like a serial killer. Fire her! So, I lost 6 bucks so I'll have to go to a different Walmart where the employees are less retarded and demand they correct this child's work. I don't understand why everyone shops here. I go about 4 times a year when I really need something and it's late and almost every time it sucks. Since when are dogs allowed in this store? I'm not talking about service animals. Just regular dogs. They sell food here, right? They serve prepared food here (McDonalds). Only in an absolute pinch do I come to Walmart. The only thing I "like" about Walmart is that they have a lot of products you don't see at other stores, like seen on TV items. Whatever. It doesn't entice me one bit. Tonight I was on the hunt for a pillowcase for my son's school project. No luck. I ran into an employee coming from the back stock area & asked if they had some in the back. She said, "Um.. Well.. They're all in the middle area over there. Try finding someone there who can help you." Awesome. I walk back and by now I've already passed up 6, count them-6 employees who look away, avoiding me so I won't ask them for help. I arrive to the aisle again and can't spot an employee nearby. Nada. I go pay for the other 2 items I grabbed. I told the cashier that I couldn't find anyone to help me, that their store is horrible with customer service and that it's impossible to find help. I told him management should be informed. He said, "Mgmt has nothing to do with it. It's the employees. Yeah, all our employees like to hide, they hide so they don't help customers. They don't care. Then we find them and they get fired." We showed up to make a return and do some shopping around 9 pm. The Walmart attendant at the door informed us that the service center closed at 8 pm, but we could go clear out to Gosford and Harris, "their service center is open till 10 pm". We drove 1/2 way across town to this Walmart, not way out there! The website for Walmart customer service hits says it's open till 10pm. I was already disappointed that I was going need to use the return service because of my last experience at customer service. There was 6 employees behind the counter. I was the only one in line and they just stood there and talked to each other. When about 5 mins went by someone decided to assist me and was rude and had a bad attitude like I was inconvenient. The manager of customer service is not doing a good job of training the employees. The cashiers are much better at making Walmart inviting unless you go through the self check out then we'll that's another bad reflect on Walmart management. I am not happy. read more

After driving across town, this store decides to stop entry 10 minutes early. I could have easily made it to Costco, however based on their limited merchandise I made the mistake of going to "Super Walmart" (which is a joke of a store.) not only were they rude but they closed 10 minutes early. I needed a fan/air conditioning unit for an elderly woman who suffers from breathing issues. This employee explained that they close at 8:30pm but secure the entry door and do not allow anyone to enter their store after 8:20pm. I drove across town and dealt with an idiot who could careless about someone who is suffering in the heat. After this, it is my last straw. No wonder this store has two stars. I am sure if most could have given fewer stars they would have. Do yourself a favor, stay away from the ghetto store or rosedale Walmart. Go to target and enjoy your shopping experience. It's a typical Wal-Mart; just a little cleaner than some of the others. This location now has a full grocery area which is really convenient and the prices are low; but it is difficult to find someone to help if you need them. The check out lines move at a good pace and they usually have a good number of them open (unlike others I have been to). Overall, not too bad for a Wal-Mart. read more

I had the worst experience at a store today that I have ever had here! I was charged wrongly and when I went to customer service they said to just go get the items so they could refund them. I went to the car to get the items, and was told I was supposed to get a tag from the front door person standing there. I didn't know that. The lady than said she had to check their cameras. Ok that's fine. At this point I'm still ok with everything that's happening because I understand. But after close to 30 minutes the lady comes back, she is smiling from ear to ear and tells me that there is no proof on their cameras that I went back outside and got the products . Than the loss prevention man comes up behind her and was so extremely rude, and said he checked the cameras and that I was lying. They than proceeded to call me a thief and say that I took the products off the shelf to get money for them. It was 2 packs of soda and 10 dollar turkey. They said they were going to make a tape for the cops because I asked to view this footage knowing it was all a lie. They refused to let me see, they went back to look at the cameras again. About an hour later the asst manager came back and said she didn't see me leave the store to get the products. The whole time my sister is asking where is the footage of us taking the products like we're being accused. We tell the asst manager one more time what happened, and around the time frame and what door I left. Because my sister stayed in the store. She leaves and less than 10 minutes later omg guess what?!? She sees the footage of exactly what we had told them. Which was me leaving alone to get the products. Because we're not theirs or liars. 2 hours of my time!!! Being embarrassed and called a theif and a liar. I have called corporate and honestly feel like it was just brushed off. I am seriously contemplating taking legal actions. And I will never again be shopping at Walmart. read more

Like other Wal-Marts they have a large variety of most things and for less than a lot of places. I have to rate them poorly, though, because they regularly don't have enough cashiers or enough assistance in Customer Service. Like with a lot of stores nowadays, I have to carefully decide whether to buy something based on whether I really want to stand in line or that I might have to return an item in order to avoid spending a ridiculous amount of time (i.e. My money) trying to return or exchange. Instead, if I think I might need to do a return I just won't buy in the first place. I feel badly for the employees because it means reducing revenue to the store and potential layoffs when they don't make their targets. Anyway, the guy seemed very nice & when I looked at his badge,...........it said that his name was Michael & he is a Co- Manager. I ordered something for curbside pickup at the Walmart on Rosedale in Bakersfield, CA. The whole reason for doing this was to pre-pay, not have to go in the store, and have it placed in my car due to the size of the box. So I went to pick it up and I was told to call the phone number when I got there and they would bring it out to me. I called the number and the person told me that I needed to move to the other pickup and call them. I did that and there was no answer and a voicemail box that was full. So I went back to the other spot and called and explained and the guy told me he would take care of it and to go park under the other pickup sign. I did that and waited 15 minutes. NOTHING! I asked one of the cart collectors if he could let them know I was there so they could bring it out. He said, "Yes, he would take care of it." More waiting...NO HELP! So I parked my car and was walking in to the store to pick up my item and that same guy saw me and said, "Let me show you who the manager is and she can help you out." I followed him to the manager, Rebecca, and first thing she said was, "You don't have a mask on; you need to leave." I told her that I didn't have a mask because I was supposed to being doing curbside pickup and none of the phones worked and nobody was helping me." She told me I needed to wait outside. I told her what spot I was in and she told me that I needed to not yell at her without a mask. I was not yelling at her , I simply told her why I did not have a mask and that I was not planning on getting out of my car, but having curbside pickup. She told me to "get the f*#k out of the store and wait outside." Little to say, I was shocked! So I left and that same cart guy saw me and said, "Did Rebecca help you?" I said, "No, she kicked me out of the store because I was not wearing a mask!" He looked at me and said, "YOU NEED TO START SHOPPING SOMEPLACE ELSE." I went home and cancelled my order. I called customer service and told them I was appalled at how I was treated and how unprofessional Rebecca was and that I felt like she did not deserve a job and that if they wanted to keep us as customers that they could ship me the $40 item for free because of the aggravation and argumentative attitude of the employee. The girl told me that she would check with her supervisor. Apparently, she was told that I needed to reorder, pay full price, and they would waive the shipping and send me a coupon for $10 off a future purchase. I told her that I would not accept that and I would never shop at a Walmart again and would tell everybody I know that shops there what occurred and they would lose a lot of business. She did not care at all! I asked to speak to her supervisor and they put me on hold for 15 minutes and then she came back and told me that no supervisors were available. WOW! How convenient considering they were available before when I didn't ask to speak to one. I never cared for Walmart, but after this I despise Walmart. I will bring my money elsewhere even if I have to pay double the price!! This is unacceptable behavior and we as consumers need to stand up to this garbage. read more

If I could give zero starts I would. I always have a problem at this location. I life about 5 minutes away and would rather travel the 20ish minutes to the gosford location. Was at this location the other day and walked up to a register that had just opened and the women told me "I can't help you I'm gonna help people from that line over there" I said "I'm sorry? So you're going to turn me away to purchase my items?" She said "ya" WOW. She then asked "wait were you in that line over there?" What if I was? I don't want you to help me now after this. Another time I did an order for pick up and said it would be ready the next day. 24 hours later I still don't have an email saying my order is ready. I called about 10 times and was either hung up on or told "we're getting your order ready rn" then hours later I called again and was on hole for NINETY MINUTES just to be told "we don't have your items" I then spoke to a manager about it who never told me her name or asked how she could help me and then yelled at me and hung up on me in the middle of me talking. Another time I went with a return I got from gosford and they wouldn't even let me passed the door. The man there said "that's from gosford you can't return that here" really? Because I've never been told that before. I could go on and on about how terrible this location is. read more

Had to wait forever for anyone to come over to the photo center with a line of people gathering up and the girl acted like she didn't know at all what she was doing.
