This is the worst walmart I have EVER been too. I've never written a review in my life and have been shopping here for a year and a half but today was it for me. I'm in customer service so I can excuse the less than friendly ppl working the grocery floor. But today after buying 2 things of salmon only to unfreeze them as pretty much fish slop I'm disgusted. The store itself is never restocked so everytime you go the things that should be there aren't. I've gone one weekends, weekdays, morning and evenings. It's awful no matter what time. The produce is far from fresh and buying peppers is a toss up. Sometimes they are rotten or not even there. What a terrible store. I wish there was another walmart near. EXPIRED BABY FORMULA I had one of the worst experience as a parent of a new born. On 5/25/19 I bought 2 Enfamil premium from this location, all the baby formula is lock so you need to call for assistance to get the baby formula, once they help you they bring the formula to a register that means as a customer you handle and check the baby formula until you pay for it plus you would never think Walmart sells EXPIRED Baby formula " bad costumer experience". We feed our 3 day old with the formula I that night and the next day my baby was throwing up, some diarrhea, fussy and crying a lot. When toy come to a big store like Walmart you would think they will be careful with the new born baby products they sell, after we notice the baby was getting sick we check the Enfamil and IT EXPIRED OVER 2 MONTHS AGO. We had to take our baby to urgent care. Thanks God everything is good with our baby, she feels better now. To Fay I when back to return the EXPIRED BABY FORMULA I ask for a supervisor her name was Jessica or July" she had no name tag on" she show up to the customer service desk didn't even introduce her self and just said what's going on I show her the product fur her to see when the product was EXPIRED. She showed 0 empathy, you can see they don't care about the customer all she said was " you want to exchange it or get ac refund" no apologies, no acknowledgement of the issue and no actions taken to send some one to check all the baby formula and fix it right away. Unfortunately you can't trust this place, you know they might have cans and other food that already over the counter by mistake but BABY FORMULA THAT EXPIRED OVER 2 MONTH AGO?? UNACCEPTABLE. This is for their bakery department. Let me start off by saying that I think Walmart cake is delicious which is why I chose this location to make my daughters birthday cake. I went in a couple weeks prior to her birthday to order the cake. I heard they customize. I spoke to a lady who told me "easy, I can do this no problem" it was nothing too crazy. When it was time to pick up the cake, the cake wasn't finished... they handed it to me and it only had the border that I asked for, no writing, nothing. Just a plain cake. I asked to speak to the lady who took my order, they said she was on lunch break. Then I asked to speak to a manager and was told they were also on lunch break... So I asked them to at least write "happy birthday Emery" she sighed and did it, but didn't even spell my daughters name right, even though I was right there telling her how as she was writing it.. it was just a ridiculous experience. Absolutely no professionalism. We were also suppose to get a "smash cake" that day, which we ordered with the customized cake and they "forgot" to make it. Not only was it extremely dirty , but the employees were extremely rude. One kid in particular in a tie die sweatshirt today may as well had been walking on top of me with no space in between us at all. My fiancé asked him to please step back because he was so close, In return he threw his hand at us and exclaimed "whatever" in the process. Completely rude and unnecessary. As I entered, I was told that cash was only being accepted because their credit card machines were down due to power outage earlier. I was fine with that. I had cash. A filthy store with a filthy parking lot. Some good people shop here, but more weirdos shop here than normal people. The aisles are cluttered, the employees could care less and its a place I come to infrequently. I have been told to "kiss my ass" by the people checking reciepts when you leave more times at this store than others. I used to frequent this Walmart prior to the newer ones built in the SW of Bakersfield. I do not like the remodel they made last year, not sure what they were thinking but to me it didn't do anything for the store. The did change the layout a bit from what I am used to with Walmarts but not a whole lot. The shopping experience is all the same as far as products go as well as the customer service. I think what makes this Walmart less attractive for me would be the remodel & layout changes. Maybe I am picky but who knows really. I prefer the one on Gosford!! read more

I can see how the store has a 2 star overall rating. My experience was OK... It is clean and I find what I want/need here but I have never found customer service to be very good. The gal in produce was wearing ear buds so she did not have to speak to anyone/customers. Weird. Self serve check out gal was less than friendly and the guy in customer service looked like he was ready to quit his job. There were 2 staff members in the wine aisle stocking and chatting but did not ask customers if they needed help finding anything. Staff doing inventory in other areas (cleaning supplies) do not offer a hello to anyone near them. It's Walmart, I get it but a little customer service goes a long way. On the plus side, the deli meat counter is never lined up and they have a decent selection of chicken and turkey. Healthier than any packaged stuff. The best part is that while I cannot get all my groceries here, (fresh seafood) the savings in cost on what I do buy is for sure noticeable. Especially on produce. read more

Tried ordering online. Offered free, same day, curbside, store pick up on Rosedale. Ordered early in am. Never received notification order was ready for pick-up. Tried to call, no answer from any department, operator, nothing. Decided to go to customer service in store. My 5 item order still was not ready at 6 pm. 4 bottles of glue & thread. They said they'd get someone to gather it. (Already paid for). 8pm decided to leave. Got notice at 2 am order was ready. Called online ordering to cancel & get refund. Was told out of 1 item so that part would be refunded also. Had to wait 5 days for partial refund, then they added the amount they were out of. Never will I go to that Walmart again. When this SW Bakersfield-Panama location first opened it was great. Slowly but surely it's really changed and not for the best. Understocked shelf's were the beginning, then improper pricing (which drives me nuts), departments not staffed and today I went shopping and half of the items I required were in Spanish ONLY. I'm completely game for bi-lingual product description and details but only Spanish? For example I needed to purchase bamboo blind, the dimensions were obvious but I needed to know if it was top or side mount. Unable to read Spanish I left without purchasing the $60 item. The same was true for a special cake mix I needed, flax seed, cake flour, chile paste, numerous canned goods and the topper?, cosmetics and shampoos. The reason why this is happening is due to the demographics and high volume of Hispanic customers, I get it. It's just a shame. read more

I love Walmart. The prices are reasonable and fair for somethings. I love to buy the great value brand than paying the higher price for stuff that you can get for a lot cheaper. The staff is pretty friendly and helpful when you need help. I did take a spill about 2 years ago and the management team was really good to me. The manager called me the next day to check up on me. I love the site to Store and use it quite often. I haven't tried the layaway just yet but I am sure it a pretty good deal and the fact that you can make payments is the best. read more

I like this Walmart. I can find everything easily. Prices are inexpensive, and the quality of the products are not bad. Sure, it can get crowded, messy, and disorganized. There tends to be some rude people, but there are rude people everywhere. I'm usually in and out of there real quick. If my wife is with me, then we'll be there much longer and buy more than we came for. The service we've experienced has been fine. We'll keep shopping here as long as we're on a budget. read more

This stores doesn't stock items it advertises on shelves. I recently visited this store and wanted to purchase a tablet on display. I had to find an employee to request someone get me the item as the tablets are locked up (no problem). After locating an employee and requesting the item I waited 20 minutes before the employee returned only to say, "We don't have that item in stock." I said, "Well do you have the cheaper version?" Employee said "We don't have that in stock either." I thought ok... maybe I'll look at something else. I noticed they had GoPro video cameras so I looked at those. I found a nice deal on one so I located an employee again, requested an item again, and had to wait again. This time it took almost 10 minutes for the employee to return and say, "We don't have that item in stock." That was when I left. I've never returned since. read more

I ordered an Apple Watch from Walmart and went in the store later that day to pick it up. Overall, I had a pretty good experience there. All their employees I came in contact with were very helpful in showing me where to go and helping me pick up my new watch. I want to give a special shoutout to Dj! I love Walmart for their reasonable prices & because they offer pick up, it's just today I had a bad experience. I am currently in my car waiting for my things which I understand that they're busy and are probably under staffed but the thing that just doesn't sit well with me is that I called the check in number because my order was listed as picked up when I've been waiting in my car for the last 40 mins without my order so I wanted to see why was it listed as "picked up at 4:03" when I am still waiting? So I thought let me call and see what was going on (called at 4:25pm) it's now 4:44. When I called I spoke to a man and he was pretty rude, I was about to ask him a question and he cut me off asking for my pick up name and so I told him. I then tried to ask him a question and he cut me off by saying that my things should be right out and hung up on me when I was talking. I understand they're busy but shoot don't be rude either. I just had a few questions but he decided to be rude and hang up on me. I didn't get my things till 4:55pm till an associate acknowledged me and asked me personally for my name.
