The "manager" of the auto part of Walmart was watching videos on his phone, annoyed with answering questions/didn't know the answers so answered back sarcastically, & literally ignored my bf until he had to raise his voice. I have never made a complaint on anyone, but this was like unreal. Seriously has made my day so bad thinking how disrespectful this person was for no reason. read more

Wow...just wow. Went this morning , to pick up a item for wife for Christmas. Picked a few other items up as I was there. Had to get cabinet unlocked for item. No help to be found. Went to customer service...twice , still no help. Had a guy in blue vest not a walmart vest, come by twice, as well as another larger guy, evidently LP. Still no help. Finally cornered a girl stocking a shelf and was told no one was working that department, and dept manager was off also. So left it all in buggy and left. On way out 2 guys bringing in buggies passed and I git high just smelling them. Pitiful excuse for a store. read more

So not ever ever ever buy paint at Walmart. Our "sesame" color paint froze so we need another gallon to pint after a patch repair. They don't make the color anymore. I waited 20-25 minutes for some e to help and they couldn't get the system that mixes paint to work. read more

Worst experience when I go. This is the the last trip to this one. No one really cares about customers. Proof first the cashier at self check out was too lazy to call someone to meet me at propane exchange. Sent me to customer service desk so far 15 minutes in hot sun no show. BEWARE OF THIS STORE!! The Loss Prevention people here are setting people up to be accused and arrested for shoplifting. This happened to me last fall. I went to get a couple items, 2 baking pans and a king size comforter. The comforter was in a bag and took up all room in cart. Unknown to me, a Loss Prevention guy passed me and slipped a book in between the comforter bag and front of cart. The cashier never saw it, the door person didn't see it when he checked my cart and I never saw it til the guy grabbed my arm at the door , pulled the book out and accused me of trying to steal. I was arrested for shoplifting, hired a lawyer, went to court 3 times and no one from Walmart bothered to show up so the judge dismissed it. I have hired a attorney to represent me as I am now suing Walmart and the Bessemer Police department over this incident. This is not an isolated incident either, I know of at least 8 other people in my community who have had same thing happen to them. Be sure to thoroughly check your cart before approaching the checkout. I will add that the reason that the cashier, door checker nor myself didn't notice the book was due to the fact that the book was same color grey as the color of buggy. So if you want to shop at Walmart, you should go to any other store but stay away from the Walmart in Bessemer on Academy Drive. Total crooks. My attorney s opinion is that the Loss Prevention people and other employees are the ones stealing from the store and they are setting customers up so they can put blame on them. I don't know what's going on with this particular Walmart-but it's become AWFUL in the past year. I have avoided it for the past 4 to 5 months after being treated rudely....but today I stopped to pick up a bag of dog food. I walked past the fish tanks and they were dark and full of what may have been algae and debris. Most seemed empty and some had what seemed to be dead fish in them. It was horrible and disgusting to look at- and cruel. I won't be back. read more

This Walmart does'nt have enough employee help. Their motor carts NEVER plugged in so disabled folks can't truly shop. You have abled bodied people (kids that are allowed to ride in them without supervision). However, the store was remodeled and looks great, BUT if you don't have the employees to back up helping ppl you have nothing...My family will not shop in Walmart in Bessemer anylonger. read more

shopped for about 45 mins and stood in line at the checkout for another 15 mins. The young lady at register was either going to break or getting off, but her replacement had trouble signing into the register. She apparently didn't clock in and ran off to do so. The first young lady came back only to tell us that we would have to go to another register. I replied, "you're kidding, right? You really think I'm loading all of this back in my cart to stand in another line?" She said nothing, and simply walked off. I looked at the belt that was loaded with my intended items along with what was still in my cart, and WALKED RIGHT OUT!! Has to be the worst store ever! My last visit. Quick stop right off the interstate with plenty room on the far end to park a travel trailer while shopping. Good prices and plenty of this & that for almost all needs. They have Redbox movies, food, drugs, detergent, wine/beer, clothes and propane too! We also had a super sweet cashier @ checkout #4 Sunday 1/4/15 2:15. Please say a little prayer for her to get her car heater fixed or a portable one. Poor thing her heater is out & it's going to cost her $400 to fix. We bought a small plug in for our trailer so we won't burn all our propane that's how we know her business. Lol $400 is a lot of money especially for a college age young lady. It's suppose to turn pretty cold in the next day or two. **Note** There's also a few different fast food restaurants at the end of the parking lot. read more

On my way south I spent the evening in a hotel a short drive from this WalMart. Needing a few things I passed through this store. When I approached the register to pay, I told the cashier hello. No response from her. When everything was done she shoved my receipt at me. I looked at her and said, "Thank you. Take it easy." Again not a word uttered in my direction. I guess she was too busy talking to her fellow employee standing next to her? I'm not sure if she was training her or if they are BFF's? As I departed I walked past the greeter, who didn't greet me when I entered earlier, looked at her and said, "Take it easy." Again, no response from her. I shop here when I absolutely have to but really try to avoid it. Despite having 20 registers, there are usually long lines because no more than 5 are ever open (except during the holiday shopping season). When I need assistance in a department, I have to search for an employee to page another employee that may or nay not show up. Poor management and departmental coverage. read more

Yesterday, Thursday February 14th, my sister was shopping in your store. My sister is suffering from stage 4 cancer, and against our wishes she thinks that she can do these things by herself. Due to the intense treatments she has undergone her body turns on herself often. She was feeling very sick and asked one of your associates to please get her a bottle of water. This associate told her the water was in front of building, which she was no where close too, and that he couldn't leave his POST. Now I know this isn't the impression that you nor your management would want to be made public. Its very easy not to understand what someone is going though but please be sure that your associates weigh the circumstance when a customer , who spends their well earned money, at your store, has a request such as this. Im sure if it was a much more mature associate with a better understanding of life, things would have been very different. Its a blessing that she didn't need an ambulance called to her. Im not sure what department she was in, but it surely needs to be a company wide policy that employees have the ability to LEAVE THEIR POST in such instances. I understand this could be abused, but imagine hearing this from one of YOUR loved one. I trust this matter will be addressed because a message is also being sent to Corporate Office. We think this is a shame and a disgrace to the image of your associates, your POLICY if its so stated, and she probably will drive past your store forever. read more

I live fairly close to this Walmart and frequent it regularly. The reviews previously posted were from a couple years ago when things were run differently at the store. Now .. all of 2016 things were much different, they speak, they greet & reply if you are the first to make communications. I would hope that this will only get better! Don't feel like you can't stop by this Walmart and have a great experience! read more
