I am a frequent shopper at my local Walmart store, visiting about 3 to 4 times a week. Generally, the store carries what I need and the service is satisfactory. However, during my most recent visit on May 30, 2026, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service provided by the manager on duty, Bledi. I had an issue that needed to be addressed and Bledi handled it with sensitivity, efficiency, and speed. It was a level of customer service that I haven't experienced since the 1970s, especially in today's era where big box stores often lack in this aspect. Bledi's service restored my faith in retail businesses that prioritize customer satisfaction. Staff is friendly when I do need help and I've found decent things in their clearance which is saying something when most Walmarts are overpriced in that regard. Sure there have been times that staff looks like they'd rather be doing anything else but that's life. I've been to worse Walmarts tbh and had a nice interaction just yesterday with a cashier brand new who was happy to be working at all. I'd recommend this one. read more

I didn't need any shopping but I definitely appreciate that this Walmart tolerates overnight parking in their lot. Hooray, very helpful as I need to be nearby and sleep in my Sprinter van (it's a converted RV). It was a quiet night. Why bother putting in 22 check out lanes when you can't manage to have more than 4 of them open at any given time? After removing most of the self check out lanes you only have 16 small ones remaining and you can't even manage to have all of them open. The excuse of not having enough staff is a bunch of BS too. There are so many employees in the building; 5 doing online orders, several restocking, 2 greeters, 1 talking on his phone by the bird seed, 1 behind the server counter and 2 just standing in front of that counter. More than employees to jump on a register when there are lines. Poor management and poor customer service. read more

Updating my review by a couple stars because this store is clean and easy to navigate. It's on my route to the laundromat so I easily stop here to grab detergent and a snack. I appreciate how this store caters to the local LatinX community, providing some unique food items and products you won't find at all Walmarts. The past couple of times I've been here, it's been in and out, so I can't complain. The self-checkout moves fast and parking lot is easy to get out of. read more

I ordered a toilet seat from walmart.com. it was wrong size I asked to return it they said will get back to me in 48 hours. Nothing I asked again and they said will get back to me in 48 hours of course nothing. Bad customer support. Folks it's time to wake up and smell the garbage, Walmart!!! I have shopped 9 Walmart stores to see if this was one incident or corporate. First, all stores are very near to end of shelf life and as far as produce or any fresh items, you best eat it all on the way to the care because it will not last any longer than that. Now for the best Walmart garbage, after shopping 12 items at Walmart and small business stores and found an average of 2% savings over Walmart for fresher food. Phillip Armstrong This Walmart goes way passed bad. And Mr. Armstrong name is on the top of their receipt. I have spoken to Mr. Armstrong on several occasions about issues at this location after calling corporate. The first issue was that he had no cashiers and his employee was making everyone do self check out. I am sorry, I work all day then I go and get a few hundred dollars of things in your store and you want me to scan and bag it and pay for it ? I sorry I don't think that is right. I have to go out and do my job to pay your job that you don't want to do. Mr Armstrong told me have an employee find him and he would cash me out. The second issue the ammo being left unattended in sporting goods. No it not against the law, but it is really irresponsible. In this day with school shootings on the new almost everyday just to leave 1000's of rounds where anyone can take them this dose no seem to really affect Mr. Armstrong. On the other hand me as a parent has me very concerned that anyone can just grab boxes and walk out with them. Then a few weeks ago,My friend and I went shopping. I had 10 case of soda and a 50 in tv and other thing. I was a very big order. I had 4 employees watching them ring me up. They would not take the soda out to the car after it was rung up because the sale was not completed. I can understand that even though I had a handful of cash. I wanted them to lay the soda down first so I could put the tv on top of them. And as we are walking out another employee has the nerve to stop us to check are receipt with four more employees. You got to be kidding. I know that the Walmart at north ave in Chicago stop people because of high store loss. I spend over 600.00 in your store have four employees watching me and now your going to check my receipt and do a half ass job at it and treat me like a criminal. Yes another call this time Mr. Armstrong says Walmart we can do that and we go back and forth on the phone like little kids to finally he tells me I can come in and show me on the computer where Walmart says it's ok. As far as I am concerned his name is on the top of this receipt and fall solely on him. Mr Armstrong allows his employees to travel around his store in packs socializing with one another. He argues with the customers like a little kid on the playground. There is no consistency of store policy at any level. He is has no control of his store. And now that he has them checking receipts his store must be starting to loose inventory. Whether it is because the job has overwhelmed Mr Armstrong or because of lack of interest or incompetence one thing is certain this store will be drawing attention from corporate. read more

If you can avoid any walmart avoid it here. The lot is just piled with carts everywhere. (Shoppers fault) but they have cart people for that reason... All 5 of them were standing inside vaping or something and not doing their job. Hard to even park your car considering this unless you dont mind your car getting smashed up. The other day I put 8 carts away myself. 2ndly never purchase a walmart protection plan. We did for a vacuum and let behold it's through a 3rd party. So I'm not going to take a day off work to have someone come to my house to look at it deem it is broken and than wait weeks to get a new one. So I left it at the counter and just bought a new one myself. I thought when i purchased a WALMART 2 YEAR CARE PLANE it was theough walmart... guess not. This location the shelves are always empty. BEWARE! If you shop with grocery pickup. I have been a customer for many years and picked up groceries for the past two. During the past couple of months things have gone straight downhill. I have received rotten produce on multiple occasions. Also, I have been shorted groceries (beer, bananas, milk, etc) and given substitutions that are not what they say online when they describe them. The workers are disrespectful to me as a customer when I have there problems. The store manager is a very nice man on the phone but seems to have lost control of the building because for over a month now I have been cheated and disrespected every week. I have to meticulously check my groceries which defeats the purpose and then spend hours on the phone just to get a refund for what I didn't receive. WALMART DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. I bought a bike from this place, and the tire's tubing ripped shortly after buying it for some reason, no seriously I don't know why. I was crossing I72 and the tubing wrapped itself around my tire. Anyways,I took it in to this Walmart hoping to get a refund for the broken tire, but instead got the rudest customer service I've ever seen. The lady at the counter gave us the stink eye as soon as we walked around the corner and it really is difficult to describe but it was like she didn't care about us at all. We explained our problem to her and she got mad at us for not having an explanation to how the tire ripped. She also rolled her eyes multiple times while talking to us. While we were waiting for her to look up our reciept I could tell that she wanted to get us out of her sight. We wanted to exchange the bike, but there were none in stock so we went back to the counter to get a full refund. As we were waiting in line we had a view of her talking to another customer, engaging friendly conversation and smiling. Complimenting him and everything. I have reason to believe this was racism, because keep in mind we are Chinese-Americans. My dad speaks english with an accent. The lady talked slowly and annoyedly with my dad the entire time. When we finally left, the entire car ride home was us talking about that rude lady at Walmart. This left a bad taste in my mouth about Walmart, which was a shame since every other aspect of it was good. I didn't catch her name, sadly, but I hope Walmart figures it out. read more

Horrible customer service spend 15 looking for someone in the toy section no one passed and I couldn't find anyone. I got 2 things put in a shipper that were priced at $15.95 came out to $18.88 wouldn't price match it and blamed customer for moving items when there's clearly tons of them on there. I was not happy I was in the store today about 5PM. Signs were clearly posted outside that all customers and staff must wear masks. You have customers that are not following the state regulations and no one is correcting the problem. I for one do not want to go through another state close down we all need to work together to keep everyone safe. When I called to the store because I couldn't find an employee and needed to leave no one bothered to answer the phone and I let it ring a full 2 minutes I don't think I'll be back but they won't miss my business or care. I wish I could write two separate reviews. One for the early bird hours (8am or so) and one for every other time of day. The early bird review would be easy: 5 stars. Clean store, easy to get around, easy to find parking, easy to find things, not crowded, average age of customer: 53. The condensed review for every other time of day would be: 1 star. Messy store, difficult to get through congested aisles, no parking, can't find things/some shelves are empty, ridiculously crowded, average age of customer: 8. More of the latter review in depth: The vision center does not even know what kind of insurance they take. They were useless incompetent morons who probably normally work in the baby shoe section of the store and were called in to fill-in for the optometrist. "Dr. Chrissy", junior of Dundee Crown High School, captain of the JV girls basketball team, will be conducting your eye exam today! Tomorrow, Juan from the gas station will be your doctor. Pathetic. Do not even bother visiting the garden center. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they will hopefully expand next year since their store opened late in the flower season this year. The deli department is ABSURD. On opening day at around 7:30pm, the two children running the deli department were shooing customers away, telling them that they were closed. That's really brilliant, Walmart. On opening day, you decide to turn away customers. So during my next attempt at getting some pastrami and muenster cheese, I finally found the Walmart Greeter (one foot in the grave, filling in for whoever should be working the deli) picking his nose and counting the number of light bulbs hanging from the ceiling, while standing by the macaroni salad. So I reluctantly placed my order with him. About 20 minutes later, I finally got my pound and a half worth of meat and cheese. While waiting, I spent the time completely intrigued with another employee hosing down the rotisserie chicken cage and witnessed a day's worth of chicken grease being mopped around all over the floor of the bakery. Yum! I don't understand why people insist on bringing their 7 children to Walmart with them while shopping for groceries. It makes the store crowded. I will just leave it at that. The Clientele of the new Carpentersville Walmart makes me wish I could hang out with the people in line at the DMV. At least most of them are 16 or older! There is one vacant stall located in between the salon and Subway... I heard rumors that Senor Jimenez of West Dundee will be opening his new business there: Abogado de Inmigración. I think I'll be returning back to the Crystal Lake Walmart, even though the drive for me is longer. read more

This store won't do returns after 8pm which is crazy considering Target does returns until it closes at 10pm. I hesitate to buy things as it's so hard to return them. On the weekends there are lots of empty shelves, especially in the drink, snack, and diaper aisles. Once an employee asked me to help her reach diapers on a top shelf when I was 9 months pregnant, even though I would have had to climb the shelves to reach them. Around 10pm lately they've been closing the cashier assisted aisle and making everyone use the self checkout, which is only manned by one employee. read more

I was at the Walmart in carpenterville and I just wanted to say thank you to the little old lady with the white hair that works the door and greets everybody daily she was hugging and consulding a customer that was crying because she was upset that she had no money to feed her children and was wishing her a merry Christmas and rubbing her back and telling her everything was gonna be OK above and beyond her paygrade.. Pros: The new store is spacious, bright and clean. The managers and many of the workers go out of their way to greet customers as they walk by. It's overrun by staff stocking at all times, but especially early morning (~7am) which can be a little inconvenient when they block aisles, but at least it's well stocked. And, as always, it's cheap. Cons: I've been surprised at the limited selection... a number products we get regularly at other grocery stores aren't here. Somewhat regularly, the staff I'd expect to be most friendly (cashiers, deli, etc.), seem more interested in talking to each other than to be bothered with guests. I really hope the management's efforts to maintain a clean and friendly store win out. read more

I think who ever manages the store needs to TELL these workers to do their jobs. Everyday I go to Walmart, your workers seem to not care for their job. Always leaving the carts out to pool in the parking lot in not only one section but multiple. Your workers play music out loud and fool around, bending/ creasing products in boxes. The customer service and hospitality in this store is awful! I go to Walmart weekly to do routine shopping at every time I have had a staff member either be rude or ignorant! The reason for this review was more geared towards another customer and the lack of action by staff to assist me with the problem! I had a woman and her child in the grocery portion of the store following me around- the child was pushing the cart and he kept hitting me with it so I spoke up and asked the mom to do something since it is not my place to say anything to someone else's child. The mom thought it was funny as well and said "he is just having fun"- well his fun turned into a huge bruise on my leg and hip from repeated blows of the cart to my leg- a staff member saw this and just walked away- unfortunately for me the woman and child ended up in the same check out line as I did (they only had 2 open)- the child again was hitting me with the cart while I was unloading my items for checkout- I looked at the cashier and asked for a manager and was brushed off- at this point overly frustrated I went to go pay with my debit card and the lady was standing right behind me and looking over my shoulder- with a past of being robbed and having my identity stolen I am hesitant and would like some privacy- I asked the lady to move and she continue to stand there looking at my card (with her list and a pen in her hand which made things worse) and I asked for the manager yet again and refused to check out until the lady was asked to move- after sharing some words of frustration (yes I was wrong and was using profanity) I was asked to leave the store by the manager making me look like the only person in the wrong! I was able to pay for my items at customer service and get what I needed but was humiliated with how they handled the situation- it seems to me that the staff needs more education and training with how to properly handle a situation when it occurs! I will never be going back to Walmart and will happily pay more at another competitor to avoid this situation form occurring again! I truly hope someone from the corporate office sees this! read more
