Nothing really worth noting about this Walmart. It's what you usually expect at a Walmart. They got everything you need, at usually a cheaper price compared to other places. Much like the other Walmarts that I've frequented, food/grocery section is hit-or-miss, but for the most part, you can find what you're looking for in the frozen aisle. The produce section is limited, you'll probably have better luck at a fresh produce store or your local Jewel or Mariano's. But if you're looking for other stuff like motor oil, toys, bath towels, clothes (shoe selection is meh) you can come to this one-stop-shop for all of it. I think the biggest complaint I see and hear about Walmart is the people of Walmart (actual website exists!) but it just depends on what your personal preference is at and what you can tolerate. I don't mind the people, if it means getting all my stuff cheaper and all in one spot. No, this place isn't as fancy as a Mariano's... I have yet to find someone playing ambiance music on a baby grand piano, but it works for me. read more

6/2021 Was there on Friday evening 6/11/2021. Place was a mess! Especially the grocery area. Staff were not friendly, not mean. Just not friendly. Would not look up at you, just walked around or through you. No excuse me, etc. They were quite young, maybe 12 altogether in the grocery area. Not sure if they were supposed to be there as this was their "play" area and play time at the zoo. No supervision saying, please work rather than congregate in groups of 5 or 6 play games in the aisles. Could not go down some aisles as they were blocking them with their playing around. I love to have fun at work, enjoy each other, etc. But this is not professional, courteous or helpful to someone who is in the store for the first time trying to buy some things. We will personally consider another Walmart instead. Boxes, products, etc. all over the floors, not just in grocery, but other places as well. The store had what we needed, but took extra time finding things as the staff was always "in the way" and reluctant to recognize customers as the people they want in the store. read more

Leaving a bad review for Walmart for horrific service and questionable Black Friday practices is like shooting fish in a barrel. It's just too easy and unimaginative. However, I'm hoping this review will at least save ONE person from wasting their time at THIS store. We stopped in on Thanksgiving to attempt to get the iPhone XS deal which came with a $300 gift card. How it worked was we waited in line to get assigned an iPhone and had to come back later to get it activated and set up on a payment plan with the cell phone carrier. We waited 2 hours which was sadly expected and set up an appointment for Saturday. However, when I arrived at my appointment time, the activation system MAGICALLY was not working. We were informed that we MAY OR MAY NOT receive our phones that day or the next day depending on whether the system started working. One family waited two hours and left with nothing. We waited an hour before leaving after seeing the ONE Walmart representative still helping the SAME person, because at that point, it was just not worth it. I later called to speak with the manager and he said that other customers waited five to six hours and EVENTUALLY got their phones activated. FIVE TO SIX HOURS for something that should take 20 MINUTES (in addition to however long those people waited on Thanksgiving away from the family and friends inside of a Walmart). For those looking for a deal, be prepared because THAT is what it takes to get an iPhone deal at Walmart. NEVER COME IN FOR A BLACK FRIDAY DEAL WHERE YOU CANNOT GET WHAT YOU CAME FOR THAT DAY. Store review: It is another sprawling walmart with crazy parking lot. I can't say that I am a fan of walmart, but certain items are cheaper i.e. baby vitamins so I still come by this location once in a while. The parking lot is a mad house with people not obey common courtesy. I prefer to park at Sam's club or very far away. For every cheap item, there is also many over priced or low quality products. There is a aisle in the right of the store that is close to the garden section that is marked as clearance. You will find pure junk and over priced junk in this aisle. I have yet to find a good deal in this section. Staff are not friendly which is typical for the walmart brand. Your best bet is to use the self checkout lane so you don't have to interact with anyone. Overall I question the savings by coming to Walmart.... Finally, a newly designed Walmart!! I'm so glad I waited to write my review for this store until now because the first review may not have been so positive. I have been shopping here for years. We're here probably twice a month. Get my make up, cleaning supplies, toiletries, snacky stuff and beverages here. Went to the Grand Re-opening this weekend and they expanded the store and added a full grocery store with deli and bakery. The new store has a great overall feel and while I'm not a fan of the neighborhood it's in, its fairly clean and conveniently located. You can ask the greeters at the door for a map of the new store layout which was helpful on our trip this past weekend. Don't forget Walmart will match competitors ads for the exact item. This only applies to actually priced items. BOGO deals are a NO-GO and 10 for $10 deals are also not valid, if I recall. Ask the cashier for more details or see the service desk when you're in next time. I look forward to learning the new layout and saving money at this store! read more

Five stars for Dr. Lisha Patel and all employees of The Vision Center. They were wonderfully attentive and polite. Because I made an appointment with the optometrist for a time midday during the week while others are at school or working, I didn't have to wait; in fact, service went by rather quickly. This is the first time I have insurance coverage for a basic eye exam. Hey, I'll take a savings anywhere I can get one. It didn't cost me much more to have my vision checked for contact lenses too. Because my eyesight is so poor, there is no such thing as a cheap lens; unless, I wear bottle caps. Not only am I nearsighted, I have astigmatism and I've become of age for bifocals... Of course, I upgraded to have bifocals without lines in my lenses. I know Nikon makes excellent quality cameras so when Walmart's Vision Center advertises on TV that they use Nikon lenses for eyes, I'm going to believe they provide sharper, clearer vision as they resist scratches and reduce glare. After what I went through and paid out of pocket for two types of eye exams, a 6 month supply of contacts and one pair of glasses in 2012, it's hard not to justify going to Walmart where they are offering a 12-month replacement guarantee that their Vision Centers will repair or replace broken or damaged glasses, for no charge. The last pair of glasses were ruined by my puppy in a matter of weeks from having her and owning them. Visionworks in Schaumburg salvaged the frame but I had to pay for lens replacement. Let's just say, it was a very expensive lesson and I never wore them out in public. During my visit with Dr. Patel, I discovered that the Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism brand contact lenses I've been wearing were making my vision worse. I started wearing +2.50 reading glasses for my phone and restaurant menus. When she gave me a pair of another brand contacts to try out before ordering a supply, I didn't need reading glasses. She advised me that once my eyes adjusted to the new lenses, the strength for a pair of reading glasses should not exceed +1.25. I bought a new pair of Foster Grants that day. It's been about ten days when I got the call that my glasses were ready for pick up. I had my contacts on today so I couldn't see to be helpful and we were in a hurry to go eat. The girls were very friendly and made sure I didn't leave without the frame being on straight. Unfortunately, I didn't give myself enough time to see if they stayed on my nose... I'll probably just wait until I'm notified about my contacts being ready for pick up when I go back and have the frame fitted more comfortably and permanently on my face. As for now, I'm super excited about how happy I am with my choices that I'm going to enjoy wearing them as is. read more

The store was redone in the last year and turned into a super walmart. It has food now, the new section is nice and the inside of the store feels safer now. I used to not like going there because I was afraid to get shot for some reason. The parking lot is still pretty dark and busy, you always have to park far away. Finding stuff in the new store is confusing. I was looking for Ben Gay type stuff in the pharmacy area and I must have walked down every aisle except the one it was in thinking maybe it's in this one. It ended up in an odd area next to razors or something. So it was quite annoying finding things. The line at pharmacy, though only 1 person was at the counter and 1 in line, took a lot longer than expected since there was about 5 people working. Then when I asked about why a OTC drug was behind the counter and how much I could buy they told me the wrong info and I questioned it so she asked the Pharmacist and got the right info. I've used their app for pickup several times. Easy to order including making revisions until the night before the pickup. Once the order is picked, they advise if anything is out of stock and offer substitutes which I can easily accept or reject at pickup. Quick pickup and order is correct. Love it! read more

Probably the most disorganized Wal-mart I've been to, it's actually somewhat challenging for me to find items at this store sometimes. This is both in terms of shelves where it's not always easy to find the correct label to match the price of the product, but also just in overall store layout. I don't really see a logic grouping or progression of items and related items here. Mostly, it's a series of products that can be anywhere within a general department area, but you may have to walk through several aisles to find exactly what you want. read more

Customer service here is awful. Everyone acts like you're inconveniencing them. It's almost difficult to feel sorry for the underpaid employees when they cannot be bothered to treat you with an ounce of respect. I bought a Starbucks gift card that didn't work and was passed off to Starbucks(who also could have cared less because I purchased it at Walmart). I was treated so badly by Milo, who is supposedly a "manager", I had to go ask someone else if there was someone above him available to help me out. When they looked at my receipt and saw how much I actually spent in their store, I was not only treated with respect, but my problem was solved immediately. However Milo chose to have the last word as I proceeded to start my shopping as he came up behind me and TROLLED ME by making smartass comments!! Nice!! Grow up Milo!! Walmart is what it is. I never expect anything special and will be greatly surprised when the day comes that I find a location that impresses me. I know I may sound snobby, but I have never known a person in my entire life that has liked Walmart, or looked forward to shopping there. It purely serves the purpose. Similar to other's reviews, this is the closest one to me. Its a sad truth. I'll admit that the Rolling Meadows location, closer to my previous location, is relatively 'nice' compared to this Streamwood location. I still would dread going to RM, but not nearly as much as I do the SW spot. Simply put, this Walmart has too much 'stuff' for its location. Meaning there is too much merchandise for their shelves, so they resort to stacking it up into the aisles and walkways. It's pretty clear the big-wigs upstairs only view the customers as brainless consumers, so they provide the most gigantic carts for which to navigate the endless jungle of products, and we still fork over our cash. And considering how much stuff they have for sale, they should staff the registers accordingly. This is definitely not the first time they've received this complaint, I know, but I just can't comprehend the logic: Too much product for shelves to hold so they over flow it into the middle of the aisles -- oversized carts to encourage mass-quantity purchases of said product -- and two to three employees to ring up every customer in the store. What the other employees are doing really confuses me as well. It seems as though they are assigned to possibly three aisles to manage at a time. During my last trip, two employees were stocking shelves and chatting it up...having a good ole time...so I waited for a pause in their banter to squeeze in a question about where to find a product and not only did they seem to be puzzled why I was asking them a question, they pointed down the aisle and said, "it's over there somewhere in that department" to which I just walked away and dropped a sarcastic 'thank you'. With all my negative attitudes toward the company, and this location, I still go. Why? For convenience and prices on a select few things; so I get what I need there and move along. I cannot wait for the day that I boost my income to avoid the whole Walmart scene altogether. I don't know why we keep going to this Wal-Mart. I honestly think we should take the drive and go to practically any other Wal-Mart location. The parking lot and/or the store are currently under construction. It's always busy, so it's next to impossible to navigate the parking lot without getting frustrated. In addition, the store itself is always crowded. Pushing the cart around causes a great deal of frustration, too. It's not the cleanest store and it often even smells dirty. There are always a lot of cashiers, but the whole process takes so long that I feel like I have been standing in line a lot longer than I would like. This was my nearest Walmart for nearly 2 years. The main problem with this Walmart is that no matter what time of day it is, 9am on a Tues, or 6pm on a Sat, they will only have a few registers opened. There could be lines of customers, yet no additional registers get opened. Another negative about this store is the lack of produce. If there is produce in stock, it is wilted, bruised, or overpriced. I like to avoid the crowd and head to Target, Vallis, Aldi's, or Fiesta Market. read more

This store is, hands down, the epitome of all the stereotypes ever given about Walmart stores. First off, there is absolutely no logic to the way the store is set up. And it was sooooo junky. Imagine post-Black Friday. That was how it looked on a non-specific Friday evening! Things were strewn about, none of the products were cohesively placed... I've seen thrift stores that were more organized. Second, I had to wait at the "Ship2Store" counter for 20+ minutes (after ringing the bell twice; I heard voices back there but no one answered). Fine. I'm patient and I keep knitting on hand. Lastly, the attitudes at the return counter were unbelievable. The first woman got upset at me because she couldn't scan the bar code of the product, as if I had anything to do with that. Then, after suffering through under-the-breath grumbles for about 15 minutes, she finally called the front end manager to help. That should have been all, but NOOOO... I bought a vacuum at Walmart about a year ago and could not locate my receipt (moving). The initial cashier starts complaining that she "didn't have time" to deal with it because she had to go on break or get a violation. Then the front end manager comes back AGAIN, and looks up an old credit card number in the system, then says, "You bought it too long ago; we can't help you," and walks off like I insulted her momma or something. I'm pretty sure that I bought the protection plan for that thing (I try to do that for appliances etc), but she didn't even bother to check. If Walmart can't be bothered to stand behind the products they sell, then they don't need my money. A friend of mine told me how socially irresponsible it is for me to shop at Walmart, and he has a point. Out of all the Wal-Mart stores in the area, this is my least favorite. It pains me to walk into this store every time. Employees are rude, disrespectful and do a good job of bumping into you and giving you dirty looks. Many customers have picked up the same attitude from the employees that treat them that way. The only reason I came to this Wal-Mart today was because I needed to grab something real fast and didn't feel like driving to Bloomingdale. The Bad: -The shelves were a BIG mess -They were out of stock of the essentials that I came for -It was pretty packed -Out of my way, logistically (target does better) -Subway and not Dunkin (Starbucks is better than both) -The condescending Cashier... She treated me like I was scum. I wish I could give this Walmart store zero stars. Scratch that, I wish I could give it negative one-million stars. I've been to this location several times and for the most part, it's been okay...not wonderful or great, but tolerable. However, this past weekend, I spent almost 40 minutes on the phone on hold with the store trying to track down a toy. The customer service and phone manners are awful. No pleasant greeting, just a "Walmart Streamwood...please hold..." then a click into silence. I first hung up after waiting 10 minutes, and I don't even know why I called back. But I did, was told that they had the toy I was looking for, proceeded to wait 20+ minutes while telling 3 different people the same thing (what I was looking for, Walmart number, description of the toy, even the price, etc.) And at one point, I almost begged them to just look the Walmart number up in inventory, rather than having to wait while they searched their disorganized toy aisles for the name of the toy and physical description I had provided them with. To this, they said "Great idea!" (not really a great idea...just common sense, and it should have come from them!). I was finally told that they had 13 of the toy in stock and they were putting one aside for me, only to be told 10 minutes later that they didn't have the toy at all. I asked to talk with a manager about this experience, but haha, of course, I was put on hold. I hung up after another 5 minutes and sent my feedback to Walmart Corporate instead. I ended up purchasing the toy at Target, where I only had to wait 5 minutes before they confirmed that they had the toy in stock and had set one aside for me. I should have called Target from the start, but was hoping to save a few dollars on the toy at Walmart. Now I know that a few extra dollars at Target/Meijers/Toys R Us is worth the better service (at least from the Streamwood Walmart store)! read more

We headed into this Wal-Mart while looking for cheap and fun wedding photobooth props. Most of the items we ended up buying we later found at the dollar store, right down the street. Wal-Mart, overpriced? Yes, it can happen. This specific location used to be my hometown store, and for that I looked forward to reminiscing about being 16 and causing a ruckus here with my friends. But when I walked in, something had changed. They turned it into a Super Wal-Mart. It was so busy and crowded, we could barely squeeze through the entrance to maneuver into an aisle. I can't stand stores that were not originally intended to be a Super Wal-Mart, because they have not compensated for extra merchandise = extra square footage needed. The cosmetics department is positioned on a strange diagonal, with even more narrow aisles, if you can imagine that. The parking lot is a headache too. As Wal Marts go, this is your typical big box. The store was pretty well stocked, but it lacked organisation, as in it needed a good zoning. There were several calls for associates to zone their areas and make the customers happy. Now THAT'S something you don't hear in many Wally Worlds. I was over the moon, when I pulled up to the store, and there were 3 electric carts, and one had my name on it. Better still.......they were newbies, with a good charge on it.
