I've always loved shopping at Target, but I wanted to take a moment to highlight something special about this Elgin location. They have a dedicated nursing station for moms inside the fitting room area, and I love that they clearly post a sign about it in the women's restroom at the front of the store. It's such a thoughtful and supportive touch for parents. It really took me back to my early days as a new mom, when I often felt like I had to rush home just to pump. Back then, even stores like Babies "R" Us didn't offer spaces like this. So seeing this kind of accommodation now feels like a big step forward. Even though my babies are grown, it genuinely makes me happy to see other moms being supported in this way. It's small details like this that make a big difference. Kudos to this Target location -- you did good. I'd love to see more stores follow your lead. read more

I visited Target because I had a gift card to use and I wanted to see if I could use it for Christmas shopping. I got there at 8:00 when the store opened. I was able to get what I wanted without having to deal with a lot of people. Everything was easy to find. The shopping area and bathrooms were neat and clean. I got some great bargains. This Target also features a Starbucks. I highly recommend this Target and will be back. read more

We shopped at this Target for a Christmas Angel Tree project recently. The manager, Miguel, who assisted us in finding reusable bags to purchase, alerted security to what we were doing, and checked in to see how we were. He was so nice. He and several of the staff working here on Dec. 6 made it a nice experience for us and we appreciate your help so we could shop and make it as nice Christmas for some children and families in need. While we found almost everything we needed, some of the toys on the wish lists we couldn't find or weren't available, so we chose the closest item. The team member working in the toy area didn't seem very knowledgeable when we asked her product questions, but we found what we needed on our own by looking things up on our phones and the Target app or website. Cartwheel really came in handy and the gal at the register, I am sorry I don't remember her name, was really sweet and patient through several carts of our purchase. Nice store with a well-organized layout. Well maintained and clean, even during the Christmas holiday rush. The only odd thing I noticed is that all of the announcements over the intercom were all in Spanish. Maybe not as big and well stock as some other Target stores out there, but certainly very convenient for a local neighborhood shopping option. read more

During the week before Christmas, I had a few more gifts I wanted to pick up for family, but wanted to keep it rather discreet. After my wife went to bed, I grabbed my laptop and jumped on Target's website, and set up a pick-up order of a few things, half of which were on sale. I got the purchase done in no time and because all of the products were in stock in the store, I was able to jump in the car the next morning, and run over to the local Target (5 minutes away). I walked into the pick-up/service area where there was a short line of people making returns or exchanges. As I walked up, a customer service rep immediately came from the back and came out to address me as I didn't get immediately into the returns queue. He brought my purchases out immediately and I was literally back on the road in less than 5 minutes. This was the easiest "final" Christmas shopping run I've ever had. read more

Yeah, I know: it's just another Target. But, I feel it's my duty to write a review on a big box store when there's something to report. And this particular Target carries Elf Cosmetics, a super inexpensive line of make-up. Most of the products in the line go for $1, so you don't have to be shy about trying a wild eyeshadow color or daring lip gloss. Some of the line goes up to $3 but that's it. A smash of a deal! Otherwise, this Target seems to be pretty standard. There's a food section but it pales in comparison to some of the grocery areas I've seen in newer Targets. Though, the clearance rack at this outpost is VERY promising: there was actually cute, wearable stuff on the 75% off rack which you'd never see in the city. read more

I had a great shopping experience this afternoon at Elgin Target. I was in housewares and asked a nearby store worker if I could somehow measure something. He came right over to see what I wanted and took me three aisles away and did exactly what I needed. I then asked another question and he walked me halfway across the store to exactly what I needed. I thanked him and he returned to what he was doing. I then went to self checkout. My gift card was old and did not register. The young lady working self checkout and was most pleasant. She checked the card and agreed it was an old card. She punched in some codes and I suspect did an override. Both young people gave this old man an enjoyable shopping experience. The best customer service ever!!! I like that it's not as big as the super target. Most of the time I shop, employees would offer help, when they would see a "lost look" on my face ;) I appreciate that. I would say 100% of the check out register staff never disrespected me when I am doing my coupon shopping. When there's an error, they would fix it straight away for me. Although this place is currently being renovated, this review is really about this employee in Guest Services. His name is Christian. He assisted my boy and I with our returns, explained the drawback of returning something without a receipt, then I ended up changing my mind after a few minutes since I got the item credited for such a lower price. He did not give me any attitude or sour face, but was full of smile and did whatever possible to satisfy my request. His approachable demeanor and respectful way in requesting his coworker to grab the item back to Guest Services as well as his coworker responding on the radio with a good attitude gives this Target an absolute thumbs up for awesome customer service. Place is mismanaged. 20 cash registers and one open. When asked why they don't open others she pointed to self checkout and says that counts as 4 registers. Last I checked I didn't get a paycheck from Target. Many employees lingering around the store, but none on the registers. read more

I love most targets but absolutely hate this one. It is super old and dated. It does not have any fresh food and is laid out very differently than most targets. I avoid this target at all costs. read more

Today I did a drive up order at the Elgin Target on Randall Rd and it was an awful experience. I had wanted some paper towels and cleaning spray and although I received my items, the employee was very rude and unfriendly to me. I didn't see a nametag but he was tall, blonde, and wearing jeans. The biggest thing was that when he was walking out towards my car, he dropped my items on the ground! Not to mention the fact that I saw he wasn't even wearing gloves to protect his hands. I didn't bring it up but when he reached my car he was very harsh and practically threw my items at me. And then he didn't even say "Have a nice day" or anything like that even though I had been polite the entire time. I have always shopped at this Target and have never experienced such negativity and hostile workers; I think I will take my business to the South Elgin Target! read more

This store has become very run down over the last few years. The check out lines are always ridiculously long with only one to two cashiers on. Plus, the staff takes their cigarette breaks right by the entrance of the store. I hate having to walk my stroller past that smell as a nonsmoker. read more

Please never take any cash register to offer you store credit card. Their credit card dept is very difficult to work of any dispute issues or payment issues when they made mistakes. They will continue to charge you late fee and interest even before the issues resolved. Bad services. read more

This Target is pretty standard in terms of product availability and customer service, I only wish they were a Super Target with a full grocery store. They generally aren't too busy, and the cashiers open a new register if there is more than one to two people waiting in line. read more

This target lacks customer service. I have had more than one bad experience there. For example i bought an item at another Target that was more money than what they were selling them for and they would not do a price match ( for goodness sakes it's another Target store). So i returned the item to buy it from them, but having crappy customer service, told me I can wait around for a couple of hours until it goes back on the sales floor. Wait what????? The store was dead!! It's not like it was booming busy. Really?? Wasted my day. The second time I had an issue with then was when I got charged twice for a single item. They insisted that I was sold two of the same item. Again, use your brain. No one would take their time to come back for a $12 item for it to be a scam. Needless to say I had to go to a different Target and they took me on my word and took it back. read more

GREAT customer service at this store! Employees are always on the sales floor looking for people to help and if they are not needed, they are stocking/organizing shelves. This store is always clean and always has what I need. Even during the busy times of day, they will gladly bring more people to the registers when the lines are long. 5 stars all around for this store! read more

Love this target, but hate the Starbucks inside. I only go here because it's the closest Starbucks to my house but employees are the absolute worst. They act like they are just target employees who are unconvinced when you order coffee and they have to make it. I order multiple drinks for my family and almost always at least one is wrong. I can only assume it must be the training. Real Starbucks baristas always have great customer service, but I have to go to this sub par imitation in a grocery store. I went to a Target in Streamwood finding the perfect bridal shower gift, but it was on display. An associate found this location as having one in a box. Awesome, right? Driving from Streamwood to west side of Elgin during rush hour, took all of 45 minutes. I get there and the grill is there waiting for me. Again, awesome, right? Umm. No. They rang up the price at $99.99, um the item in Streamwood was $24.99. I even showed her the print up with the $30 price. She explained that it must have been on clearance at that location. I asked to speak with a manager. I kept my cool, waiting. The girl came back with no manager. She said that her manager is busy, they can not match other store's clearance prices, and she could give me a measly 10% off for my troubles. Really!!?? NEVER EVER AGAIN! Left without buying the gift, loss of gas money, everything. What ever happened to customer service? I even called their corporate and all they said was oh well. Horrible! read more
