This is literally the worst Walmart I have ever visited. The tire department is so screwed up. I needed to get a tire plugged, the women at the counter said 2-3 hours. She also claimed there was only one car in front of me. Three hours later I came back to see cars in the bays that had not been there before me being worked on, and my car in the same spot I parked it. I complained and asked for my keys and magically they were ready to fix my tire. So more then 4 hours later I am able to drive away. This place doesn't care about their customers. read more

This Walmart apparently decides to spot check people's receipts when leaving (a practice that is of questionable legality anyway). They don't ask everyone, but today they decide to ask me...despite the fact that I was holding my screaming 2-year-old that I had to put down to dig through my wallet for the receipt (which I procured moments before) to prove that I am not a criminal and had purchased the $12 of items I had with me. This despite the fact that several people walked out next to me without any hassle. I hope the $12/hour employee in the yellow vest who made my day with my kiddo more difficult feels like she has protected her billion-dollar corporation. Incredibly bad form, upset my toddler more, and basically made me decide that I'll find elsewhere to shop, especially when I'm with my child. read more

Worst Walmart I've ever been to. The employee that did try to help me get the video game I wanted looked at the shelves and said it might be in the back but he would not search the unlabeled boxes for it. That was understandable and I was immediately bummed about them not having the only thing I came there for. I had to go to the bathroom on the way out and that was purely disgusting. Every stall was clogged with tp and needed attention. The garbage was over flowing through out the whole restroom. As I was walking out I saw a customer trying to pay in a regular checkout, not the self serve, and an employee (most likely a manager) loudly and rudely said to him "Hold on, let me drop everything I'm doing to open a checkout just for you." There are just so many other ways to say that to somebody! As that man went to go wait in line for self checkout another employee screamed over to her to ask about the self checkout not processing. Again, there are so many ways to go about a situation and the employees here do not care to approach it in a normal customer service way. Of coarse, on my way out, I also noticed employees that were arriving for their shift, parking in the closest spots available. The store itself is generally fine, but here's my beef... There's one checker named Dannah who absolutely does not like it went you bring reusable bags! She shows it in the way she opens up the bags and it's obvious she thinks it's a burden for her vs. simply filling up their plastic bags. Excuse us for wanting to help save the planet! Also, it's hard to find someone to help you with anything outside of the health department (where you would have to pull someone from the pharmacy). We once needed something pulled from a locked area in the video game department and it took a long time to find someone available to help. read more

I don't typically have a high expectation for Walmart. I usually feel there's better places to shop but Walmart is most convenient and despite some minor frustrations here or there I am typically satisfied because I can do all of my shopping in one place and the prices are right. This location, however, was so frustrating as my husband and I came through self checkout with some supplies for dinner and some cans of wine. We spent the day out at the lake and my husband's ID was in our travel pack in the car. I grabbed my wallet of course because I was buying the supplies. We went through self check out and I showed the attendant (Julie) my ID. I'm 37, 38 next week. My husband does not look like he is even in his 20's, but she insisted on him showing his ID as well. We explained he wasn't buying anything and he had it out in the car. They wouldn't budge because it is "policy" so I asked them to get a manager as I realize Julie was only enforcing a rule out of her ability to make a decent judgement call. Out comes a very young looking manager named Nolan who was rude from the get-go. Didn't even ask us our side, as if his mind was already made up. I basically said he can look at my husband and know he is not only in his 30's but he is clearly older than Nolan is, which Nolan agreed, but still would not allow me to buy my wine because they saw he was with me and he didn't bring in his wallet. I asked for them to them cancel the order and I'll go through a checkstand without him and he (Nolan- the manager) stated I would be denied buying alcohol for 24 hours if I tried that. What!?!?! Others around us in self checkout thought they were being ridiculous and commented to us that it's no different than if I were buying myself alcohol while shopping with my child, to which Nolan said that children are different than adults without ID. But as my husband was walking out to get his ID a woman in her 50's leaving the store said she was denied alcohol as well because her grandson was with her. Sounds like they don't understand how to enforce their own policy correctly! I understand there are reasons rules like this are in place, but they could have made a reasonable judgement call because I am well of age to buy alcohol myself, and based on that alone you would assume that should be fine. Unfortunately because the store has 2 strikes against them for selling alcohol to minors Nolan explained they have to be extra cautious. I shouldn't be penalized because of their poor judgement. I told him there is no law to support this rule. He said they are going above the law because he law wasn't good enough for their store. It's not illegal to sell me alcohol regardless of who I have with me. I can just as easily buy alcohol and give it to minors without them with me, not that I would ever do that. But how is Walmart actually preventing this from occurring? They weren't protecting anything, just frustrating customers and restricting sales. If we weren't on vacation I would have just left and bought everything at some other store, but we were limited in resources and this was right by our campsite. I would not choose to give this property my money if I could possibly prevent it! Poor judgement, apparently poor management, and poor customer service. read more

Be very careful if you use the express line and you're using an ATM card as we found out in the hard way that once you leave the store with one receipt they charged you twice the amount so we had to take it down the receipt that is back to the store with a bank statement showing that they charged us twice for the 3 item we were trying to buy. We got our money back but I'm sure we're not the only people and then people aren't checking and they're out of money. I think putting in all these self-check things have a problem and they should really look into it be careful people read more

Don't go here. The cashiers are aweful when it comes to alcohol sales. LEGALLY only the person making the purchase needs to be carded, but "at the cashiers discretion" they can choose to card the entire party includin minors who will clearly not be drinking. Guess what? Boycotting walmart officially now. I would rather spend a few extra bucks where the cashiers simply do their jobs the correct way, and not lecture you on the laws they are following incorrectly. And I looked up the laws on alcohol sales and only the person paying is the one to get carded. I saw a story posted about this on the news where one mother was denied an alcohol sale because she had her daughters with her that were not 21. Are you kidding me?! It's nice to know that I can't go shopping at Walmart with my kids because I will be denied a purchase. Disgusting walmart. Oh, I filed a "presidential complaint" as they call it, but the way the managed was talking about it, it's just a slap on the wrist. I REALLY want to like Walmart especially since all the political nonsense going on with Target. Every time I go I get my items to purchase and there is a no less than 20 minute wait to check out, sometimes it's longer. I wouldn't want to be a checker here because by the time people get to the register they are all ragged out. To top off the experience the gal directing at the self checkout snapped at me. Short version: The employees are inconsiderate and will either ignore you or annoy you. Electronics has several employees and no keys to open locked product. Long Version: I go here A LOT and there are a few things that keep happening that show how little they care. First, my buddy and I went to electronics to get a thumb drive. It was on a locked peg so you have to ask for somebody to get it off for you. This was at 6 am so it was pretty dead in electronics. We look around and there are no employees. Finally, I see somebody coming out of the back so we ask and she says, "I don't work here." then proceeds to walk back into the stockroom. She had a Walmart vest and name tag on. That's okay though, she could be a vendor. We see another employee, vest and name tag, and she says the same thing and walks away. Finally, we see another employee and we ask. He also says he doesn't work here but he will find somebody with the key for us. (I think what they meant to say is that they don't work in electronics. Big difference.) About 8 minutes later He shows back up with a key. This kind of thing has happened before at this store and it's stupid. I worked retail for 5 years and I would never just say I don't work here and walk away. EDIT: This happened to me again. Several employees walked past and claimed to not have a key for what I needed. I ended up ripping the product off the peg lock and walking up to the checkout lanes. I would never do this normally but I had to have the item and be at work to give said item to the client. I would have bought it the night before but I did not know about it till that morning. Two, there is a cashier who works overnight. I sometimes come in as early as 4 am. When you come in that early, they have a dog toy that says squeeze for help. I already hate this as at 4 am the last thing I want is to listen to one of those annoying toys. Worse then that though is when this cashier is already there. She will take the toy and squeeze it repeatedly while making bad jokes about it. I get that she is trying to be funny and the first time I gave her a pity laugh. The second time I stayed quiet. She checks me out at least 3 times a week and she does this EVERY TIME. Another time my friend walked past me to grab a drink from the cooler and she got upset saying he had to stack the items so she could ring him up. He was obviously just grabbing a drink plus I was not going to pay for his stuff. when he came back and placed a separator down to show he was paying for his own stuff. she rolled her eyes and made a rude joke. You can't force customer service and at 4 am you should learn to read people and see if they are in a place where they want to hear jokes or have dog toys squeezed in their face! read more

My friend and I went into this store to grab a few groceries & ended up being harassed in the self check out line by the employee who was monitoring the customers using these machines. We had an issues with the bar code on the grapes so we called over the attendant for some help & ended up being accused of stealing dog food & one other item. These items had already been scanned and were showing up as rung up on the screen. After pointing this out to her, she continued to make a huge scene and accuse us of stealing. The lady was rude, inconsiderate & should find a job outside of customer service and support ASAP. Will not being going back to this store again. read more

I'm torn in my star rating here because if I was to rate the store on the employees alone, it would be 5 stars. The 5 times I've gone since moving back here, the employees have gone above and beyond. They were some of the most pleasant I've ever dealt with at any store. If I was to rate on the store/operations alone, it would be a 2 due to the lack of registers open for check out (I went at various times, so I don't think it's just a "specific time of day" thing, the insanely long lines, and the fact that this is one of the most confusing set ups of any Walmart I've ever been in. I have a difficult time finding the things I want, hence one of the main reasons I've spoken to so many employees in just 5 visits. =) However; the store is one of the cleanest I've been in & that's really nice! read more

As usual shelved are not stocked & only 4 check stands open. Now that they have also raised a lot of their prices it almost isn't worth driving the extra miles to shop here. Back again. This review is for the auto service center. I bring my cars here for oil changes only because they are so much cheaper than other places. But for those low prices you have to put up with horrible service. Everyone who works there is sooo miserable! Don't come here expecting to be treated like a customer. Just wondering why the employees (most of them) were not wearing any protective gear? Common Walmart, you can do better than that!!

I shop at Walmart regularly. I don't know if it's just the Walmart in Carson City Nevada or all of them, but now they want to scan and check your receipts as you walk out of the store with your groceries. WTH? Please stop. Does anybody who steals their groceries actually stop and show the receipt? Give me a break. And even if they did, what is the Greeter guy gonna do? We all know, nothing! Unlike Costco which is a private membership, which perhaps you can lose if you refuse to do this, Walmart has no authority and no handle other than to take advantage of regular law abiding people who don't know they can just keep walking. And while some of us just walk out, lots of others actually stop, and cause a bottleneck. What's more, they don't actually check your receipt against the items in your basket. Rather, they just scan the receipt to see if it is from a different date. Not sure what they would do I f it was? If their goal is to get sued, they would try to put their hands on someone or hinder them from leaving in anyway. Please stop Walmart. This is not doing anything except annoying and causing your loyal customers to stand in lines, after they already paid, over some ill-fated experiment. read more

This has become our "go to" Walmart recently. It's slightly larger than the store in Carson and seems a little less crowded. We appreciate that the CSMs try to open more registers as needed and from observation, I've seen more CSMs and managers jump on registers to help out than any other store. Granted during peak times, it can be chaotic, but when coming earlier I the morning, and later in the afternoon, I can get my stuff and get out with minimal hassle. read more

I'm here for a pedicure and it is the worst I have ever had. Pedicurist did not speak to me and ignored my every request. She literally burned me with the hot water and then drug a cloth over my cut on my leg after I had repeatedly asked her to stay away. This place was ridiculous!!! My fiance and myself went shopping rather early, around 4 am. We are parents, and most of the time this is when we get our shopping errands done.. my fiance was looking at sunglasses and other little Nik naks by the jewelry counter when some older Walmart associate came up to him and said "make sure you have your receipt, I will make sure I check it when you exit the store" what the??? After that incident, my fiance and I started feeling like we were being watched which made us really uncomfortable... We proceeded to the self check out, when my fiance forgot to grab something from the camping section. The man that I mentioned earlier, turned his focus to me, saying"lost your other half" and things like that... As I was scanning the items, this guy wouldn't leave me alone, he was behind me, about 5 inches. Asking alot of personal questions. He was very invasive. Finally he walked away when my fiance met back up with me. He met with two other associates in front of the little arcade and they were looking at is, in a little pow wow. Went to this Walmart last night and there was absolutely no employee in the electronica area we had to walk the store to find a employee to help us. All of the typical happenings seem to have happened to me on my visit. Starting with my arrival, I nearly got hit in the parking lot by someone not paying attention while driving. Once in the store I could not find anyone to direct me to what I was looking for and wandered for a few minutes before finding it. Contrary to popular belief of Walmart always having good prices on just about everything, I found that what I needed was priced nearly the same as a brand name item at a different store but this was for the W branded item. I couldn't wait to get back to town and fit more running around into my schedule so I decided to make the purchase anyway. Once arriving at the front of the store to checkout the lines were ridiculous! It took me longer to wait in line than it did to wander the store in search of my item and get it to the checkout. With a company of this size they should be able to keep the lines to a minimum even during a surge of customers. This is especially important during lunchtime, when it is expected to have more business during that time. Having worked in the retail industry for about a decade I am sure this can be accomplished with the right management. This store really needs some change to better serve their customers! Only out of sheer necessity will I ever return here. read more

Very slow, not enough cashiers despite it being a Sunday and seeing employees standing around looking as if they're not doing anything

Went to this Wal-Mart a few minutes ago, got a few things, went to the self checkout, where 5 of the 8 machines were out. I scan my first item, the screen says WAIT FOR ASSISTANCE. The worker at the podium, where the person who is supposed to deal with this kind of thing was just standing there, ignoring me, so I wave at her. In her smartass way, she waves back, shit eatin' grin, and turns away. She then turns back toward me, mumbles something, then says "It'll be just a minute". I'm never in so much of a hurry that I can't wait a minute or two for something, but I don"t do well with smartass, hostility, being antagonized. I'm always as nice as can be, and I sure as hell don't deserve to put up with this crap from employees - or anybody for that matter. read more

This review is ONLY regarding the Carson City Walmart Auto Center...The employees were very friendly while I was getting an oil change for both of my vehicles over a two day period in beginning of December. They were fast and efficient, and very informative. Affordable oil change with quality products used. I will be back. (Have never found good customer service in the main part of the store, no knowledge, no follow-up, nada...this 4 star review is strictly for the automotive center) read more

I bought glasses at the eye center and after three months they were difficult to look through with the scratches. My wife recently bought glasses and paid for the scratch protection. She brought them back today and the salesperson would not work with her to correct the problem. We will not purchase any further glasses from this Walmart store at north Douglas County. read more

In Walmart it's terrible service also not to mention the rudeness of the employees, especially the receipt checkers how would they exactly know what we have, going through every bag? No but instead seeing if the receipt is real and if we paid for it, meaning that they think people are just going to bag the items and make a fake receipt, but when the checker has stopped my family and checked our receipts while four other people passing us, not stopping them they all went by without getting there receipts checked. I am highly offended with how employees have the right to sass my family and yelling inside the store. Every time I shop at this Walmart I come home missing a bag or 2. You have to fight for your bags at the check-out because their employees use some many bags (example I purchased 8 items my last visit... their use 5 different bags!!!) especially in the check-out that use the bag carousel, which the employee doesn't ensure you get every bags. Then when you come back to retrieve your purchase, your items have already been give to customer service to put back on the shelves!! WTF I wish Target stayed open 24/7 read more
