I have been shopping this Walmart since it opened. I have found that the majority of people that work there are kind and helpful especially if you treat then with the kindness and respect they deserve. The store l is clean and any time I have had to use the facilities they have also been clean. It is a large store, and I have had some issues with product, but customer service has always been able to fix the issue. Everyone makes mistakes. Give them a chance to fix it without feeling they've done something on purpose. You will find that your kindness and respect will get you the help those employees wish to give you. If you have a problem, ask for the store manager and don't yell at the employee. The majority of their employees se are hardworking people that have to deal with multiple customer personality types, managers, and situations (including being yelled at for things they cannot control) that we might find difficult to handle. Consider for a moment that maybe the previous person they helped was not the nicest person in the world or life has thrown them a curve. Could you do any better? 8/23/25 I bought 2 boxes of motor oil back in 5/17/25. When I did my oil change 2 weeks ago I realized that one of the box of oil contained USED OIL!!! The return manager argued that it's over 90 days return policy and also pointed out that the label had a different store on it. And she is not willing to help me further and I was told to go to that store and deal with my own problem and it's not their problem. Note that I only buy from this location. So to prove me right I went to the rack and I found another box of oil with a different store label as well. They had nothing to say. The front manager was not around to help me further. Do not get tires here !! First appointment was cancelled because of being short staffed. Made another appointment a week later.. Actually, took the day off for that reason. That morning i was getting texts about don't forget your appointment. I drive 1/2 hour to get there. I check in and the guy asked if I brought my own tires. WTF..I was told they were there in stock, I helped him look for the tires. I found 3 .. I said I'll pay for 2 to be mounted as i was driving out of state. He said it was against their policy not to sell only 2 tires. I even said I'd get the more expensive tires...Didn't have them either.. Not even a I'm sorry. I went to Haines Auto down the street. Clean organized and absolutely massive. The employee that was working in the shoe section and went to the back to hunt for my desired shoes in my size, thank you again for your dedication. When I went to Walmart Saturday at 6:30pm the hot food section was already closed (staffing issues) so I settled with a banana to satiate my hunger- sad though. Lovely bakery section with a nice selection of bread and pastries. Cool that they had a whole organic produce section. I wish the produce was a little higher quality as I had to dig more than usual to obtain my desired level of freshness. As usual with Walmart the prices are sensational and the selection is vast. Ps. Check your receipts!! Rang 2 items twice for an extra $51 and I am lucky I caught it because the bill seemed excessive for the 12 or so items I purchased. I don't usually check because I trusted the company to train honest workers...when I pointed out the employees error, he smirked and told me to go to customer service for the refunds. Great store. While visiting the Catskills, we needed supplies. The grocery had a wide variety of items and even some I'd never seen before. It was clean and organized. We also didn't realize how cold it can get in November so we found warm boots, gloves, ski bibs, hand/seat warmers and just a bunch of really cool items you don't find unless you're in a country area. I made an appointment online through the Walmart app to get tires put on my car, drove an hour there after a long shift at work only to find out their auto center wasn't even open. Nothing was done about it!!!! I had to then drive an hour home and plug the tire and wake up at 5am the next morning. Very frustrating because I would've just plugged the tire in the first place but was exhausted. I had to manually cancel the appointment on my phone (after the appointment was even supposed to happen) also the app said they were 'preparing' for the appointment but it's obviously false. read more

This Walmart supercenter is much like the rest BUT it's a bit cleaner and more organized than others I've been to. Obviously we shop at Walmart for the reasonable prices, but sometimes they are not always a pleasing shopping experience. This location was in fact a painless and pleasing shopping experience. I've noticed many workers walking around aimlessly and just sort of annoyed, staring and looking confused by themselves. Back by the auto department, I hard very loud truck unloading and cursing. The language was absolutely foul and the workers were just giggling over the loud cursing. It almost sounded like one of the employees has severe tourettes behind the counter that was explicit. I pressed the call button by cosmetics which are NOW COMPLETELY ENCASED BEHIND GLASS and I spent a half hour waiting. No one came. I over heard multiple workers walkies chiming each time I pressed the button as if alerting them but then I heard "ugh." and I was completely ignored while they continued gossipping. had to find someone by walking across the entire store and thank God some sweet and kind Indian man helped me. ALL I WANTED WAS NAIL POLISH AND REMOVER! ME AND TWO OTHER CUSTOMERS WAITED FOREVER AND ONE OF THEM ENDED UP WALKING OUT!!! I've begun going to other stores this one is so ick. Bathrooms constantly filthy with maxi pads and TP everywhere. Cashier stared at me while sighing as I struggled to bag my stuff by myself. Instead of having workers walk around doing absolutely nothing, put them on bagging duty!!!! You're paying people more to do nothing than to help us bag stuff quickly to keep the line moving!!! read more

At first while visiting Catskill NY from NYC I was in love with the charm. I don't support mega stores but needed some supplies so headed to WAL Mart. The first time was ok, I forgot my mask and dude up front gave me one, I appreciate that. 2nd time... no one enforcing use of mask, several women and their kids blatantly not wearing masks while shopping even though signs say "required", but to top it off while exiting the store an employee with his WAL MART name tag hanging from his rear view mirror had his car parked next to mine with a sickening confederate flag license plate adornment. WAL mart says it's against racism but how can they employ locals who are so overtly not for racial equality really disrespecting our country and what we fought against in the civil war. I was a huge supporter of Wallmart but they are no longer 24 hours!! I came back home and orderd online from Amazon. The best part of Walmart was working late at night and knowing you could do your shopping but now they have surrendered to Amazon. I cam home and ordered and will get my deliver tomorrow. It's a Walmart. The prices are good it's convenient in the sense it's a one stop shopping. Although for fruits, vegetables and meats Price Chopper is across the road with better quality. I don't live in the area but have been shopping here for over 30 years. I've never had a problem with the people shopping here. I have never run into the shoeless guy in the confederate shirt or been asked how long i'll Be in town. How would anyone know your from the city unless you were being an ass. Before my 2nd spinal surgery, I used to shop in store all the time. When I could get a ride, I still do at times, but I've taken too ordering online and having it delivered. I've been doing the whole delivery thing for about 8 months now, and usually it's quite easy, I placed my order Thursday night, and it's delivered at 8 am Friday morning. The best times to get delivery are in the morning because they restock overnight so the earlier, the better. However, a few times now they have put on their app my order is delayed, first message is always the same your order is delayed it will be there 2 hours late. Yep.... nope..... the first time this happened it was 12 hours late, this time?... well it's been over 24 hours now, I've been given one small refund for compensation, which was barley enough to cover the dinner out I had to buy due to my groceries not being delivered, and I was promised that my order would be here 8am this morning hahaha I should have known it wouldn't be, started my day off once again calling to see where my order is and once again being told it'll be here in an hour. Fact is the system they have for deliveries isn't a good one, when you choose a delivery time your signing up with a specific driver, if that driver then chooses, or can't show up to do their deliveries the store tries to find a whole new driver to cover that time slot. Instead of having the driver that does the next time slot, pick up some slack and so on and so forth down the line of drivers they let the drivers assigned to other times do their deliveries as scheduled. So yesterday when I was supposed to get my order between 8 and 9am and my driver canceled, people who ordered for a 2pm delivery still got their order on time but I'm now on day 2 still waiting, still kinda hungry, still very thirsty, still dealing with a migraine. My recommendation is to be rich and shop at Price Chopper instead. This is coming from someone who pays a monthly fee to be a preferred customer with perks. read more

Frederick pretty much summed it up. I was excited to check out this Walmart Supercenter that locals deemed one of the major attractions to the area. I was disappointed by the uncleanliness inside and the general awful mix of people who were contributing to the mess or were simply rude and made it a point to scoff at us "city folk." One older man wearing a Confederate flag t-shirt, cut off denim jeans and no shoes asked how long we were in town for. It was both funny and unsettling. I've been to many Walmarts around the country and this one is definitely the worst one I've seen. The parking lot was also a mess with shopping carts everywhere and no one seemingly collecting them. A good 1/4 of the spots were just filled with carts. Perhaps we could chalk this one up to the holiday weekend. read more

This store has gone down the toilet especially since the pandemic. The shelves are often bare and messy, management is the worst of the worst, customers here are welfare pigs on food stamps that refuse to get a job and need to take a shower, and don't get me started on all the crap corporate's done to this store. I took $20 out at the ATM only because the self checkouts were card only and there's always lines at the registers out past apparel. I went up to customer service and asked them for change of a 20 for the carwash. I was told "We don't break bills anymore. You have to buy something." Why the hell not? I've never been refused for attempting to break a bill and after spending nearly $100 on groceries I was not buying anything else just to break a 20. I ended up having to go across the street to Speedway because I was not spending $20 to wash my car when I only need $5 to do it. Not to mention New York State requires all customers in stores to wear masks regardless of vaccination status and you still see entire families walking around maskless not giving 2 craps about other people and their health issues just like they did at the start of the pandemic. It's ridiculous. I'm vaccinated and hate wearing face masks but I still wear them in the store to be RESPECTFUL! Walmart needs to shape up. I have been a Walmart customer for more then 25 years. I have spent 10s of thousands of dollars at Walmart. Today I went there to buy fireworks they sell from the company TNT. TNT has Catskill Walmart on their list as one of the Supercenters that sell their products. TNT sent me a coupon for $20 dollars off on the purchase of over $100 in fireworks. I was ready to buy the fireworks and the night head named Janis refused to sell me the fireworks and told me Walmart is not a Supercenter and they don't get their fireworks from TNT when it says it right on the box. I was ready to spend over a hundred dollars on fireworks. Well I will be talking to Doug McMillion if they allow me to about the incident. I will also be contacting TNT to let them know Catskill Walmart is not accepting their coupon, and are claiming the TNT fireworks they are selling are not affiliated with TNT. To top it all off this woman Janis was very nasty and condescending towards me like she thought I was an idiot when I told her Walmart is a Supercenter. read more
