If you need to go to Walmart, then you should definitely make it this location... Located inside the Cerritos Towne Center this location of Walmart is really quite different than the other Walmart's I've been to. It's set up like your typical store and the prices and items seem to be all the same, but where this one differs from the rest is the customer service of the employees. The parking here isn't too bad. The lot is quite large, but it does get pretty crowded at the entrances. If you're okay with a little walking, and I am, then it is actually not a bad parking lot compared to most others. The area is kept pretty clean and I'm never without a cart as they are really good at keeping the carts in stock. The greeters at the door here are top notch. I know it's not that hard of a job to smile and say hello to people walking in, but not many places do it anymore and most of the Walmart's that I've been to do it poorly. Not this one. I'm always greeted politely and with a smile. The store is always clean and the items on the shelves don't look like we're in a state of emergency. Some Walmart's really look picked over and unorganized. This Cerritos location does a good job of keeping things organized and on the shelves rather than all over the floor. The produce here is usually pretty fresh and the dairy items are well within their sell buy dates. I've had a couple bad experiences at Target buying milk that was already past the sell buy date. Ultimately it was my fault, but the store should be checking these things too. Walmart has never let me down in that department. My favorite part of this location is the large self checkout area. There's at least 10 stations where you can do your own checkout and not wait in the lines. This is such a blessing compared to Target that only has 3-4 self checkouts and are never working. At Walmart I can get in and out pretty quickly if I need to. Definitely check out this location if you need a Walmart. read more

I love my local Walmart. I've heard horror stories of other Walmarts and have personally seen how disgusting they can be, but this Cerritos location one is great. I've only had one bad experience with a cashier here years ago. Other than that, I love the prices, I love all the merchandise they stock, I love that it's cheaper than target for the exact SAME item, and this Walmart is relatively clean (except on crazy weekends). I have never had a hard time returning any item, as long as I had the receipt. No questions asked, just money back. The cashiers aren't super friendly, but they aren't rude either. They are mostly cordial, and I don't expect much more. I like that some of the staff have been there for years, I feel comfortable seeing them and it shows me the store is a decent place to work. I love the clearance items. They make being a single mom affordable. I wish they hadn't gotten rid of the McDonald's because I used to love shopping while munching on french fries! I love that Walmart employs disabled and also elderly people. That warms my heart. I love the grandfatherly greeters who wish me a nice day. It's a small touch and it gives livelihood to people who might need it. But overall, it's the low prices that keep me coming week after week! read more

I should have just drove the extra ten minutes to Target! I came here because I was running low on baby formula and made the split decision to come in here because it is closer to my house, since I had my baby with me. Bad choice! I beelined straight for the baby formula, and they have it on lock down. I started to look around for a store associate and wouldn't you know, it seemed like everyone was way too busy to help. I finally was able to get this associate's attention and he said he couldn't help because "the only people that have a key are in the Electronics Dept." Something about that seemed really suspicious to me, but at this point I just wanted to get out. So I walked over to Electronics and waited. And waited. And waited. I was standing right at the register but the two guys behind the desk were chatting about something, until one finally acknowledged me and said if I needed something. I told him I needed help with the baby formula to which he said, "Oh, there's a button you can push for help". (What in God's green earth.....) I broke it down for him, explaining that someone shooed me away to Electronics stating that they have the keys. He laughed and cut me off and said that they straight-up lied. Wow... I feel so special and willing to spend my money here. Honestly if it wasn't so late in the evening, I would have just aborted mission and left. This use to be where I would get my prescriptions filled but I am changing that immediately. I don't need the employees to give me the run-around. read more

Commuting from 2-4 hours a day is not my idea of fun and sometimes, you've just got to pull off of the road and take a breather so lately I've been doing that at Wal-mart. It never fails I have something on my shopping list I can scratch off by coming here. I stopped by on a rainy Friday night to this location in the Cerritos Town Center. This store has the same mello vibe as the one located on Beach and the 22. Easy parking, clean, well organized, but this store has kind of a odd layout. Why no 5 stars? I wanted frozen veggies and an adult version of gummy vitamins, but they had none. I still enjoyed my shopping experience here though. I liked their arts & crafts aisle alot. read more

Every time we go to Walmart we always bring our recycling bottles. Today we we're so lucky because the customer service line was not that busy. An old woman was ahead of us and doing her refund thing. We patiently waited and my daughter glanced at the clock. It was 3:30pm. This very rude lady ANGELINA was still busy. We didn't know if she's doing something or just pretending she is busy. We we're still patiently waiting for her to call us. And atlas she called us at 3:43pm. I told her 100 bottles. 50 for me and 50 for my daughter. What she did was she split the money. She gave me $2.50 first. And then another $2.50. Associate Alice at self checkout accused me of stealing a bath rug set. She wanted to see my receipt, I said I will not be showing you a receipt if I'm already going to show it to someone at the door before I leave. I called for a manager, Perlita , the team lead comes and tells me that if Alice says I stole a rug then I stole it. Because they have scanners that can see what's being scanned and what isn't. I was the only BLACK in self checkout and I was the ONLY person Alice stopped and wanted to see a receipt from. I stood there and watched her for a good 20 mins, never did she stop another customer to see a receipt from them. I ended up returning ALL my items and had the Customer Service associate confirm that everything that was in my cart was PAID for. Never did Alice apologize for accusing me of stealing nor did she apologize for being wrong! Never did Perlita apologize either for coming out the blue and telling me I stole from them. very poor service at the pharmacy - they make you wait for so long in picking up your Rx. I was the only one in line and there are 5 pharmacy techs in the back of the counter and neither one of them came forward to assist for 8 minutes. then a prescription was not ready and asked me to wait for another 20 minutes. it was ridiculous that they make you wait for it even if you already have called for the refill a few days ago. the only reason we go to this pharmacy is because it was closer to home and because all other things are within reach in the store. the management needs to pay attention to this department. read more

This Wal-Mart has been updated and much improved. There is no more of that distinctive, sour smell when you exit the place since they removed all that junk in the exit vestibule. Plus, every time I come here, the place is clean and organized. I know that many people feel that Target is a better place to shop, and it can be, but Wal-Mart typically have better prices than Target or other places. You can even shop online and have it ship-to-site for free pickup. How cool is that? Plus, there's a Micky D's, Coinstar, PictureMe Portrait Studios, Pharmacy, Redbox ($1 DVD rental), Photo Processing, and Self-Checkout in here. I totally don't like Walmart anymore! For some reason when I go in to look for specific products, they don't have it! And the packaging looked like someone had beaten it up pretty bad. Maybe during the shipping process someone had smashed in the box of Skinny Cow ice cream bars, but whatever the case is, if it looks bad, just remove it from the shelves! Don't just leave it there! I know I would never pick up something that looks beat up and nasty like that! I try not to come here that much anymore, I honestly can say that I prefer Target or even Stater bros, or Trader Joe's over this place! And besides I think those places are a lot cleaner, people there are always more friendly, and just overall better than this super store. The cleanest Walmart I've been to. Everything is always well stocked and organized. It doesn't look like Black Friday either, the shelves aren't bare. There's no ghetto fabulousness either. It's clean and the restrooms are nicely maintained. I wish the Torrance store was on this level! I love love love the Vision Center. This Vision Center is perfect for contact wearers with astigmatism because they always have the higher lenses in stock. My prescription is very high and this is the only vision center besides Kaiser South Bay that I can leave with a trial pair. This one has a US Bank inside as well. The lines aren't too long and the checkout is uneventful. Which is saying a lot because I will have to get my mind prepared to brave the Torrance store. I wish I lived closer to this store because this would be my one stop shop for everything! read more

I used to love this place but in the past 5 years this Walmart has turned to SH*T. And I mean this literally. For the past couple of months, the parking lot and entry way of the store smells like straight sewage. HOW DISGUSTING. Especially since the deli and grocery area is right in the front. Will never buy food from here. Definitely unsanitary and gross. Most of the workers here have bad attitudes. I love shopping here. This is my favorite Wal-Mart store too. They always have everything I want. They're really on the ball with keeping it stocked. They also seem to be more polite and courteous here too. Even the security guard smiled as I asked him to take my picture of me standing next to my filled cart! I love to shop at Wal-Mart because I can get all I need, and literally fill my cart, and still walk out paying under $250.00! For the same items at another grocery store, if would cost almost double. Ever since the renovations were relatively finished, the level of customer service has gone down hill. I was buying a bicycle and needed assistance. Asked a Christine at the Fabric department to bring an associate to the Bicycle area. While she was dealing with me, she never gave eye contact. And when I thanked her, she didn't acknowledge the gesture, just turned and walked away. She may have had a long day at work, but please don't pass down your misery to the customers. When I addressed this incident to the Customer Service associate, he(Adam) just brushed me off. If the Customer Service department isn't receptive to customer's comments and suggestions, the Walmart company, known for their friendly greeters, needs more customer service training at all levels. read more

I have been to many walmarts, so I already know not to expect much from a large corporate retail store. But my recent interactions with this particular walmart has forced me to make this review. TL;DR at the bottom... First off, I had ordered a video game online on black friday and had a pickup order arranged. When I came to pick it up, the worker was obviously upset from the busy black friday traffic, and she was excessively rude to me. Turned out that they ran out of that game so the order got cancelled. FANTASTIC. I tried to reason that it was after black friday so I decided to give them another chance. I had ordered another game by accident and it was too late to cancel the order. So I got the order form and went to this walmart to return this game for store credit of some sort. Unfortunately the return services was closed when I had asked a fellow named Frank. He seemed nice enough, but when he saw the game in my hand, he said, "Good luck returning that though, it looks like you switched the game and rewrapped it." Really Frank? I brought the game exactly as it was packaged, and you accuse me right in my face that I switched games and trying to return it? "Yup, it looks like you did some bad wrapping buddy." Nice one Frank. TL;DR I could be ranting and overexaggerating over all of this, but in general, this walmart has the crappiest customer service. I guess they all do, but you come in for the products not the service. FYI if you're walking in the videogame/electronics section, avoid the worker named Frank. Don't make the same mistake I did. read more

Customer service is so bad I'm ready to send a formal letter to headquarters. There was one cashier open & at least 10 customers in line & no other employee or supervisor around. When I finally saw an employee I asked her if it was possible to open up another cash register. Her response was "I am not a cashier." I responded, "i didn't ask if you are a cashier. I asked if "somebody" can open another cash register." And then she just ignored me & kept walking. I also had a big issue paying for my items even after I explained to the cashier & supervisor that I was paying with a tax exempt federal purchase card. This particular Wal-Mart almost looks out of place in a shopping center of the caliber of Cerritos Towne Center. But, I'm glad it's here. :-) Wal-Mart is a great place to get personal care items (shampoo, bath soap, toothpaste, etc.) and the occasional sweet treat (candies, cookies). For the tropical fish in my home aquarium, Wal-Mart has the lowest price for fish food and some supplies. I like the layout and floor plan of the Cerritos Wal-Mart, especially since both the Lakewood and Long Beach Towne Center stores have been totally revamped in order to carry grocery items. I won't even consider going to the two aforementioned stores unless I REALLY had to. This store location still has a McDonald's inside. As with other Wal-Mart stores, this one also has an optometrist, pharmacy and garden center. But the one thing this store has that I really like A LOT is self-service checkout stands! Others here have mentioned how crowded this store gets. Lately, I have not experienced crowds at this store, mainly because (for now) I have the ability to get to the store on a weekday between 9:00-9:30 a.m. Hardly anyone in the store at that time. I also like this location for the fact that my credit union is right next door and Trader Joe's is in the same shopping center if I need to make a stop at either or both places. Another big plus is at this store, I have yet to see any of the freaky kind of people known as the "People of Wal-Mart!" :-D read more

Nice place to go shopping. Since I just moved to Cerritos before a month. I bought every single thing that I need for my new apartment from here. The simple tips is walk from aisle 1 to all the way to the end. They have every single stuff that you need. Staffs are pretty friendly, parking is very easy to find and price is of-course best. Sometime I even fight with my wife regarding their pricing because I saved a lot of money after I shopped here. Nice place. read more

I was in the area and had some time to burn so I decided to stop by here to see if I could get some early Christmas shopping out of the way. It looks like they are doing some construction on the place, maybe expanding it? I hope they are going to remodel the inside as well because the walls and the old floors look a little depressing. The customer service here was pretty good. I was pleasantly asked a few times by the people working here if I need help finding something. Its interesting to see how this place gets compared to target. When I was in here I thought about how shopping at target is a fairly nice shopping experience and that shopping here at this Walmart was not that great. I feel that this place would do a lot better if they remoleled the interior and use better lighting to make the place feel warmer. Their clothing here seemed on the cheap side as well. If they had some nicer brands, that would improve the place as well. read more

I usually wouldn't write a review on a store but this one was so bad it warrants one. It feels like its my civic duty to warn off other people from this branch. I don't know if it was just because they were under construction but the shelves were so scarcely stocked! Or did I just come at a bad time, the shelves were in such a disarray it looked like leftovers from a huge weekend sale. They didn't have half of the products I needed, which I easily found at Target after visiting this store (which took up more of my time, I should have just gone to Target in the first place.) There was no one at the key copier counter, and I was told after already waiting 30 minutes that the guy is on a 15 minute break. Oh, so when did his break begin? Just now?? So he finally gets back and I wait another 15 minutes or so while he takes care of a previous customer and then struggles with the machine when it's my turn. AND feels the need to try to answer another customer's question while his hand stills and I stand there and want to shake him to keep working on my key while he talks. Multitask!!! The lady at the beauty section was really nice but had no business in any other section of the store, she really was clueless. She was even trying to operate the key duplication machine when I first got there. Please don't. Both her and the guy at the counter didn't even know what a trailer hitch was when another customer came up and asked. She took him around the automotive section and couldn't even repeat what the customer needed when they got back and she finally asked the other guy for help. Where were you taking him then?? Some things people do just don't make sense. So I waited an extra 45 or so minutes overall just to be told they couldn't copy my key. 2 hours of my life I will never get back. Now I know it's black Friday which is why I usually don't do shopping but being a new mom I also have this new urge for deals. My husband and I decided for ourselves we would buy a new TV set. I'm too sick to actually go out to shop so I decided to check online deals. I LOVE walmarts deals so I checked them first and found an amazing deal for a 55" smart TV at $298 with only 2 left!!! I swooped on that so fast! Of course with my luck it was too good to be true. While waiting for my order to be confirmed I check my email 30 minutes later to find they had canceled my order with no real reason. I immediately tried to find the deal online only to find the closest one to be $300 more.. so I called the help line. The girl who helped me was super sweet and tried everything to help me figure this out... Which brings me to the Manager of this location. Once reached and told the situation checked for the same TV and offered the same deal if he could find it.. since he didn't they were basically like "oh well sorry nothing we can do." Actually the right thing to do would have been to give me a similar deal on a similar item or gave me a raincheck till they received that TV in Stock again. But no. They tried to say it may have been our bank or card service but it wasn't because we have good credit and standing with our company.. I feel like they sold the TV I purchased and when putting the order at the store they realized they had sold out and couldn't sell it to me. So I went to the target website and found a similar deal for pick up today. Honestly could have saved losing a customer and future holiday business by simply offering me a better deal.. but instead I think I'll be shopping at target this year for christmas.. read more

I don't really like walmart that much but u do get a lot more savings. I started comparing prices of every item on my shopping list from my previous target receipts and it is indeed cheaper at walmart. Although it also depends on the specials too. Sometimes ralphs and stater bros have better deals when it comes to sodas in can. So it just depends. This walmart is better and cleaner than other walmart.
