We spend less time in the Cerritos Walmart since they opened the Buena Park store a few miles away. The Cerritos location has been going thru major renovation, and Buena Park is a super store, so they tend to have more, very neatly arranged, stock. SANDWICH SHOP. Visited the Cerritos location today. Noticed two entrances next to each other at the front door. The Cerritos store is adding a deli/sandwich shop to their offerings. Zowee, can't wait to give it a try. We like a variety of sandwich shops. The more the merrier. VISION CENTER. As I was passing thru the store noticed the vision center's also been revamped. Still located in front of the store, the space is 3xs larger than before - space enough for two optomistrists. Selection of glasses about the same. More room for examinations and testing. I've been going there for glasses for more than 20 years. Good pricing. Fast. Convenient. COMPARATIVE PRICING. Compared pricing on a couple of items I bought for Christmas. Electronic item priced higher than Target ($10). Small appliance lower than Target ($10). It pays to price shop. FOOD. While Cerritos Walmart continues to renovate, looks like the area to the right of main entrance will house their food mart. If so, they'll have one of the largest Walmart food marts in the area. Since Smiths foods came and went in this same shopping center when they first opened, I wonder how Walmart will do. Parking is already an issue with Ross, Pacific Sales, the Pet Center, the movie theatres and food court already competing for convenient spots. Time will tell. Until the dust settles think Buena Park (good selection of children's books) and Lakewood (huge foodmart) Walmarts will continue to draw my attention. Ugh... Sad to say not one of my favorite locations but it's the closet to where I shop. The garden center check out is always so inefficient and I end up waiting forever to check out one or two products. The employees don't get paid enough to care or be productive during their work hours. Many sections including beauty, seasonal, accessories and clothing are very disorganized and messy in appearance. I am a senior. After shopping for the family meals, I was tired. I normally shop at Torrance Walmart which I can find chairs to rest or sit on the disable shopping cart near front door waiting for my husband to checkout. At this Walmart, there are no chairs for seniors, I guess they wish customers to leave asap. I had to wait outside, under the sun, and no chairs to sit outside either. I saw a senior laid on the bush wall, so I did. The bush and flowers were outgrowing over the white wall. Just in 5 minute, I got 3 mosquito bites on my left arm. I have to psych myself up to come here anytime. Wal-mart simply inspires in me a lot of hyperventilation & anxiety. That's why I don't consider lingering in the store. Parking may be spacious but those spots close to the side and main entrances are incredibly busy with cars AND pedestrians, so be careful. No matter how hard the employees seem to keep the displays neat, organized and well stocked, the aisles just often seem to be crowded with shoppers and partially empty shelves. Wow, is everyone really buying all the stuff they are taking? I usually take the side entrance and use the cashiers at that end. Just be prepared to sometimes be in line with dozens more doing the same. The cashier's line inside the main store is simply overwhelmingly CRAZY! Had one of the rudest cashiers last night. Her name is "SULU." She's a large woman; appears to be of Samoan descent. Usually, I go to self check but since I had quite a few drinks in my shopping cart, I decided to go to the #12 cashier. As my turn approached to check out, I noticed the cashier had a cold attitude towards me already. I smell "prejudice." Didn't expect this behavior as I noticed she spoke with the African-American customer before me in a friendly manner. The customer had a pair of large hoops on the conveyor belt. "SULU" picked up the earrings and asked her, "Are you going to a party?" Then a short conversation exchange ensued. Nevertheless, she was unfriendly towards me! As she was scanning my items, I told her that I had 2 of each drink; 2 ice tea boxes, 2 coconut Bai drinks and 2 watermelon Bai drinks. Well, her reply surprised me! She snapped at me and said, "Wait, I'm not there yet!" Is her IQ so low that she needed to concentrate on scanning the other items first?!?! I've mentioned this to many other cashiers in the past whenever I had 2 of every drink before - yet their reply was usually, "Thanks for telling me." Needless to say, the cashier "SULU" pissed me off with her rude behavior and rotten attitude! My reply to SULU is: "Hey, if you don't want to work at a job that provides good customer service, then do something else!! Just don't mess with me!" I won't stand for it. Went to this Cerritos Walmart store on Saturday, 11/16/19, to do some early Thanksgiving shopping and shopping for the week. Well, this location had NO grocery carts and no grocery bags... I REPEAT... this location had NO GROCERY CARTS AND NO GROCERY BAGS for customers to do their shopping or put their purchased items in! As I got out my car and walked towards the store... I saw people walking out the Walmart store with groceries and other items in their hands (I could not figure out why)... and as I got closer to the store a woman said to me "I would turn back around if I were you... this store has no grocery carts!!" ... I thought "she has to be kidding"... but she wasn't! That's correct... a Walmart Superstore had absolutely no grocery carts for people to shop with AND to make matters worse ...when I FINALLY got my hands on a cart to do some shopping, when I got to the line to pay for ALL my items (my cart was full with produce, a lot of grocery items, hygiene products, cleaning products, clothes, etc.) and as the cashier was scanning all my items I noticed that she was not bagging any of the items... and then finally her supervisor walked over and said "we don't have any grocery bags." WHAT!?!?!?! What kind of store doesn't have bags? But then, that explained why I saw people walking out the store with all their items in their hands! But the difference was, for me it would have been impossible to put everything in my hands because I had a cart full of items! So the cashier literally threw a white TRASH BAG at me and said "use this"... so yes, that's right... I had to load up my own groceries in a trash bag! You know, it would have been nice (and common sense) for your employees to inform customers before they walk in OR before they have all their items scanned that you have no grocery bags or shopping carts! Thanks Cerritos Walmart!!!! So pathetic! You know... I have written 2-3 other reviews about Walmart locations being just as rude and lacking customer service - Long Beach, Garden Grove, La Mirada, and now Cerritos... I mean, I just don't get it... why is Walmart's services and professionalism getting worse and worse? I came in to the store and was looking at bikes for my kids. The store had bikes in the wrong location and miss labeled. The associate did not honor the correct price. When manager was involved he also did not honor the price. Their explanation was that because of covid they put bikes on incorrect shelf's and prices. Not only is this a violation of weights and measures but false advertisement for the customer. I let the manager know that all bikes in the section were miss labeled and there was 3 different price tags for one bike. They still did not help and honor their discrepancies. When I visit this store it's usually crazy. I get it though it's a busy store. But time after time it appears this place just doesn't stock their shelves! 13 days out I came in looking for an item in toys for Christmas and the isles are empty! I then go to Garden Center and there are boxes and boxes of toys just sitting there! Unbelievable! This is exactly why Brick and Mortar is dying! Going online is an easier experience and there is usually no hassle and you can find what you want in most cases! The people at this Walmart are great. I made a mistake with a pickup recently and the customer service ladies helped me out promptly even though I was at fault. Probably the best customer service experience I have had at any Walmart in this country. I was so embarrassed after I realized I made a mistake but they went out of their way to help me and I was extremely grateful. I would not usually expect that kind of service from anyone, as I admit when I am in the wrong when I realize it-- but the ladies here helped me regardless. I will make this my "home store" from here on out. I believe the girls name who helped me was Angelina, I had to call back to ask and got a name based on her description, so I hope that was right. This Walmart has the worst customer service. I called to speak to a manager JT NEVER EVER PICKING UP MY CALL ! I called 3 times! This is unacceptable! They only have 1 cashier for the entire store which was very busy. Self check out was 15 people deep. When I flagged down a lead manager and he was full of excuses and pretty much laughed at me. This 5 Star review is for Ernali. He went out of his way to help me with my photo frame dilemma. I had ordered frames online to pick up but being typical me, I don't have patience and I came in to the store to get the frames and purchase. I stood in line at the Customer Service area so I can get my online order cancelled to pay for the frames I had on hand. Ernali pulled me out of line and helped me. He canceled my online order. Per Ernali, the reason why my online order wasn't ready yet was because one of the frames wasn't in stock, 2 of the frames I had on hand were different colors. He then took me to the electronics register since there wasn't a line and boom...I was in and out of Walmart just like that all thanks to Ernali. I'm always on the go so time is precious for me. Ernali was hands down very helpful and kind and I hope this Walmart will recognizes that. He went beyond and above. Also, this is the only local Walmart I go to because it's right by the freeway and not as ghetto as the other surrounding Walmart's. Tip: I drove far and bought a lot of frames at Ikea and all their frames are now plastic and not glass. This may seem strange but I truly like this Walmart. Every time I walk in there's someone to greet me, even though they are extremely busy, their staff seem to always try their best in their capabilities to help you. And the other thing I truly like about Walmart as a Corporation is the staff they hire. It's so diverse, it makes me feel like these are real people, and makes me want to treat them like the real mom and pop, aunt and uncle, grandma and grandpa, or classmate they are. I mean, yes everyone is trained professionally but at the same time this is your neighbor! It's got that neighborhood feel like you don't need to be afraid to make a friend and be nice to a staff member here. I feel like Walmart truly puts in the effort for equal opportunity employer and you can see how there are special needs staff members mixed in. It's a good place with a good heart. That's how I feel about this company. When you come, say hi back when someone greets you, it's ok to be nice, and a lot of times I feel like the staff here are genuine people. Yes, we all have our bad days, but at the same time, just be happy and you'll find that happiness is infectious. So I appreciate the hardships that people working here go through and really like this store. Also, I appreciate that this Walmart supports our community. Every now and then you'll see a nonprofit organization, or a high school or middle school athlete raising funds for his/her team etc. To get the permission to do this tells me that Walmart is truly putting in effort to support our local community and has a presence. Some people may find "solicitations/loitering" annoying but don't realize that to stand infront of Walmart, they had to go through a certain level of screening (legal included) as an organization to get the privilege to stand at their door. And at this point, they are there for a GOOD cause. So when I see this, I view it pleasantly and feel like Walmart isn't just supporting fancy nonprofits with big national names like some other grocery stores may, but instead are helping real people who live in our very own community like your neighborhood kid down the street! It's REAL! So I love this Walmart for that reason. If any staff member ever gets a chance to read this, I want you to know you're doing a great job there! I went in hoping to purchase a Dremel tool kit, which was behind a glass case. I push the button requesting for assistance to open said case. Ten minutes pass and no one arrives. I walk towards the electronics department to ask for assistance, and the guy who is doing nothing but walking around the aisles tells me he'd call someone, so I walk back to the tools aisle. It bothered me that after 45 minutes of trying to find several bras to try on i got in line at the dressing area. Then the staff member said I couldn't try bras on because of covid FYI covid is almost gone. Other ladies were trying on clothes and those garments also touch their skin. So whats the difference skin is skin. Other stores let you try on bras. Not all bras are made the same. Some are uncomfortable than others. Thats . why you have to try them on. Watch out for the Serial Number scam going on here when it comes to returns. Walmart puts only part of a products serial number on your store receipt. They leave off the front, and end, so your receipt only has the middle numbers. So if your product is SN 000123456000FBX, the receipt will say "123456" and leave off the rest. So when you try to return it, the tier 1 employees will say the numbers mismatch and deny your return. I had to go through two managers, and a rude employee who gave me a lot of attitude when I tried to politely explain that there was a problem with their system. She said she didn't want to hear my explanation, and she didn't have to do anything, and refused to help me (even after the second manager approved the return). When the second manager came, she just bad mouthed me and tried to do everything she could to get my return denied. I've had issue with this store before with returns. Once, with a basketball, which took time to fix, and once with an in store pickup which they marked as picked up when I never did. Always Walmart's fault, and always wasting my time. I went through 10 calls for the in store pickup, and had to charge back through my credit card. After I charged it back successfully, they marked my account for fraud. Long story short: don't buy any large ticket items here that you may need to return. Walmart is fine for small things and basic function (check out). If you ever have a problem that requires any reasonability or anyone with any professional experience, you are out of luck. read more

On Tuesday, June 9, arrived at the Walmart Cerritos Towne Center, at 5:00am for the weekly senior shopping hour. Store opened at 6:00 am. Always arrived early to take advantage of available disinfectant sprays and wipes. At 5:55 AM, announcement was made that no sprays or wipes were available. "The truck didn't come in last night". Walmart has senior shopping one day a week. Seems to me someone could step up and insure something is done to insure the most vulnerable of Walmart's customers have some needed supplies to stay healthy. We were rung up by a young man named Taekwon. He never made eye contact or spoke to me.
