Incredibly rude man "door greeter". I hate going to Walmart but I had no choice and this encounter settles it. I'll go without before I go back there. This Walmart was worse than most Walmarts... Several aisles had empty or completely missing shelves. Not only unappealing to the eye, but plain old dangerous. Merchandise was not clearly priced, employees not friendly. They do not carry a good selection of items. I'll drive to N Charleston location instead, despite it being farther away. read more

This Walmart is just ok, it is really close to my house, but there's one reason they are getting a good review from me: they now have online grocery pickup! I tried the service out today and it was a terrific experience. I have been skeptical about the service but decided to try it out, so I ordered everything online last night. At first I was just going to get a few things for my first try but then decided to order everything I needed (ranging from vegetables to shampoo and dog food) - you have the option to check 'substitution allowed' for each item, which I did for a few. I got $10 off for the first order and selected a pickup time of 8-9am this morning. I got a call at 745 this morning saying the order was ready so I drove to Walmart - on the right side of the building they now have several marked parking spots for pickup. I called the number of the sign to let them know what space I was in and 2 ladies came out with the groceries (everything was in stock so no substitutions). They were very friendly and refused my help with loading the car. I signed for the order and that was it! I was back at my house within 15 minutes! I loathe coming here and only do as a last resort. I'm not sure when stocking happens but every time I'm here the produce, bread and eggs are ravaged like theres a hurricane coming and the shelves have been laid bare. I often have to order other items they are out of as well from Amazon to include cat litter which also always sold out. If you can spend your time and money elsewhere. read more

The people that work at this wal-mart clearly hate there jobs. Parking lot is always messy. The people working in the pharmacy department are extremely rude. I called ahead of time to check my prescription price, and asked if they price matched they said yes. When I got there they didn't have my prescription ready so I patiently waited for 45 mns. Customer Service I actual hate this store but is just around the corner so we go there a lot. I recently had bought 35 plants from here and 7 died. I was told to bring the plants (what was left) and I could exchange them. So I first went up to the customer service desk to clarify what I had been told. So a very young guy named Jadon asked his senior employee is it was true I could go get other plants and they would exchange them. The senior emplyee told him yes. I clarified this as I did not want to waste time picking out my plants and not be able to exchange them. Well due to the fact they were closing down their gardening center it took me an hour to find my plants. I go back to customer service and Jadon starts to ring them up. I ask him why are you ringing those up we have already clarified this with your senior employee. And he gives me no answer except a shrug and a nasty look. I tell him to get the senior women he refuses. I tell him it is an exchange and he is not to charge me. He shrugs again. I ask for a manager , he refuses to call one. So it is now 9:30 my 93 year old mother does not know where I am and I know she will be worried as I left all the doors open. So I tell Jadon to leave all the plants in the cart, I write my name and phone number on a piece of paper and put it with the plants and go home.I say I will speak to the manager tomorrow. Yes my mother is in a panic. I talk to the store manager, telling him the whole story and he says he will go up front and make sure Jadon knows that this is a no charge exchange. I go into the store the next day to get the plants that took forever to find and guess what. Someone had put them all back.And jadon is at the counter I ask him where are my plants he will not answer. I ask again and and he puts his hands on his hips and throws back his head and walks away. When he comes back I tell him my plants were to be here as stated by his store manager. He says " I don't care, I am not talking to you or helping you in anyway. You talked over me." I explained to him he works in customer service and people are often upset when they come to this Dept. And it is his job to take care of them. He puts his hands on his hips again, throws back his head and walks away again. I ask someone to call a manager. Kevin comes up and I explain it to him specifically the part where Jadon was told by a senior person to do an exchange and refused. And Jadan is milling around trying to listen to the conversation. When I tell the manager the things he said to me he is shocked. I ask if this is the type of customer service person they want he tells me no and his eyes are huge and I can tell he cannot believe the things this young boy man said.I am sure Jadan put the plants back after he was told to keep them for me. When asked this question by Kevin he refuses to answer. So I now have to go back again and find my plants. At this point I do not even care if they are the same plants I just want to get them and go home. I get them go up to the counter and it is a young women who knows nothing about the situation and she starts to tell me I can not exchange them. Jadon is in the background smiling. One of the women who has witnessed it all try's to tell her I was correct and attitude is steaming off her body. I tell her to call Kevin the manager. The other women calls him and tells Ms. Attitude that she is just to ring it up to get the vendor information and then void it and give me the plants. She starts to get into it and I tell her I have been over it so many times she does not need to know a thing all she has to do is what Kevin had told her. Finally she sees how friendly the other women are to me( they know me I have been shopping there for ten years) and she rings it up. I get my plants and practically run for the door. So the moral here: if you go to customer service at this location and Jadon is at a register let someone go ahead of you and go to someone else. I am also sending this to corporate and if I was the manager I would have offered me something for all my trouble. read more

This has to be the worst Wal-Mart I've ever been in. I spend 30 minutes trying to get someone to come to the dental section to unlock some Oral B toothbrush heads. I went to the pharmacy where I was told to get someone to unlock the toothbrush heads and they informed me that someone took their key and they page someone to come and unlock it for me. After 10 minutes no one came. So I went to the jewelry section and the woman there called for someone to come to help. Also the whole time I was trying to get someone to answer the phone at customer serve and no one did. I also spoke to one of the women in a yellow vest and she couldn't help. No one so after a total of 30 minutes my wife and I left. Wal-Mart needs to let these lazy employees go. read more

I have been getting my oil changed at WalMarts exclusively for over 10 years. The service has always been impeccable and the best value for the money hands down. However this particular Walmart has such terrible service that I downloaded Yelp specifically to leave this review because I am completely appalled! I moved to Charleston recently and so of course was going to continue getting my car serviced at the closest Walmart. I have been there THREE TIMES in the past week and denied service! The first time I went, I called the morning of and asked what time the service center closed and the woman on the phone said 8 so I drove there directly after work and arrived around 6:30. I then saw a sign that they closed at 7. I told the man in charge that I understood that it was close to closing time, but informed him that whoever answers the phone is giving out false information and he might want to make sure that customer service knows the service center hours. He rudely informed me that he doesn't accept anyone for 1 hour before close. Which is fine. I've never taken my car anywhere else, now I know the policy. No big deal. I go back 3 days later at 1pm on a Friday and was informed that there was a 2 hour wait and they weren't taking any cars, even if I waited. Ok.. strange policy but maybe they don't want a line. That's fine. I then go back today, arrive at 5:45 and was informed that they don't accept cars TWO HOURS before they close. Like... do they not want customers? All 3 times there has been less than 5 cars parked out back and not one person in the waiting room. I'm assuming that this Walmart just doesn't want customers. I understand that people are busy, but I work too. And being turned away 3 different times all in the same week at different times during the day is infuriating. I will never go back. The rude behavior is just... I am appalled. read more

Doesn't seem to be a well managed store. Some of the clerks are NOT customer friendly and look down their noses at people. The parking lot is developing more and more "pot holes" that can cause damage to an automobile's front end. Reported this several weeks ago. But nothing has been done. The problem only gets worst. Guess it will take someone suing Walmart and maybe getting the City of Charleston code inspectors and SC State OSHA to step in. read more

I was just inside and Denise (the manager) sent a man to tell me and my friends to get off the wheelchairs and it was three of us all together but one of my friends has heavy cramps from her Period and just didn't want to walk she just wanted to buy gym clothes , they told us nothing was wrong with her and she has the right to tell us to get off and which two of us did, but they also told us nothing is wrong with my friend who had server cramps and that they could call the cops for trespassing and all we came to do was BUY gym clothes, I've never been so disrespected or attacked in my life, I'm appalled by the management and staff, never in my life have I been treated like a criminal FOR SHOPPING !!!!!!!!!! read more

don't ever get your hair cut by one of the 'stylists' at Wal-Mart. I specifically said to cut off only 2 inches. Instead the lady chops off 13. I was growing my hair out for the panteene beautiful lenghs program and just finished growing it out so I could give kids with cancer a free wig. Because of my AWFUL choice of choosing walmart as my 'hairstylist' one kid will not get a wig. read more

The staff here is really apathetic about their job. The cashiers are seldom in a hurry to check you out, I've had on several occasions employees stop in the middle of checking me out to have personal conversations with their coworkers when there's a line of 5 or 6 people waiting behind me. They tend to keep only 2-3 lanes open at a time even at the most high traffic hours, like the weekends and when people are getting off of work. Another time I made the mistake of using the ATM at this location, when it began dispensing my money it stopped halfway through saying there was an error with the machine and needed managerial approval. After waiting for 3 employees to pass the buck to whatever higher up employee they could find the woman I was left with told me "I have to go to the back and find the manager to get the key. This is going to take a while" and take a while it did. After 45 min she returned with a key, and tried to unlock it for another 7 minutes before getting her manager who unlocked it within 20 seconds. I really hate that this disgusting corporation gives such little incentive to its employees for them to not only lack respect for my time, but theirs as well. read more

Once Walmart had greeters, now they have friskers. Few the past few months, leaving this store, you get stopped and your receipt demanded. It's one thing to welcome customers, it's another to tell them you think they're thieves. Also, the store is a mess. They seem to only stock the shelves once a week. Their already skimpy selection is reduced even further by shortages, empty shelves and misplaced items. Many items have no price tags and there are no scanners to be found. There are many better options so, unless you're desperate for some cheap crap, I would avoid this store. read more

Terrible!!! No one answers phone. Tried calling store to see if they had tires I needed. No one answered phones!!! Let phone ring until it finally disconnected itself. After 5 attempts to call, tire center finally answered (after more than 6 minutes of ringing) by someone who seemed to know nothing of their products or services! She said to go online and order. So I ordered tires online. Seamless operation that went well. Received email stating tires were in and to call tire center for appointment. Tried calling tire center. After 13 minutes of ringing I heard a quick "auto and tire center, please hold" then the elevator music. Now 18 minutes since placing call associate located my order and said that it's first come first serve, they only have 2 techs working and expect 2 or more hours wait. Associate was rude and acted as if she was doing me a favor! Asked if I could get an appointment. Answer "No". Asked about tomorrow. Answer "I don't know what it will be like tomorrow"!!!! Obviously, WalMart does not care about customer relations. This will be my last encounter with WalMart "Auto Service" center. read more

Okay this place sucks! POOR MANAGEMENT! Registers never open, Self check out is usually down, long lines when registers are open, tons of clutter, horrible customer service, waited 1 hour after asking for service in clothing. I brought my car in to be serviced, and they recommended that I go to Firestone for faster, cheaper, better service. The bathrooms are dirty mid day, and at night good luck getting around the store during stocking. Dont waste your time asking for help, and what ever happened to store greeters? Too cheap to pay nice people to greet your hard working, paying customers. Come on now, get it together! read more

I've recently moved over to the Walmart side of West Ashley. While the store stock is not very extensive I have been able to buy some and go to walmart.com for site to store delivery of others. Which was fine until I wanted to buy a bicycle & basket (the basket was shipped & then out of stock so no go on that one). The bicycle was shipped - FedEx said it was delivered to Charleston but then another email comes and there was a delay. Okay - short delay & it was ready for pick up. At the store the sign says free assembly of all bikes so I did site to store. When I got there the guy went back to their storage area and finally after a long wait brought out this huge box - I said wait it was suppose to be assembled. He said wait and went in the back for another very long time and then said they had one assembler out and it would be 7 to 14 days for assembly. He had me put my name and number on a photocopy of my signed receipt and told me to call after 14 days. I'm very disappointed and upset. If free assembly of all bikes takes this long it should be included on the sign and the employee had a 'I don't care take or leave it attitude'. read more
