I use the delivery service. Its normally a huge help since shopping has become nearly impossible due to illness. My spouse works during the day and has our one and only car. For about the last year we've started getting so much spoiled food. The produce has been really the worst. Its moldy upon arrival or within 24 hours. Yes they will refund you but then youre out of the item. Theres a minimum charge of $35 or pay a delivery fee aside from paying the monthly service fee to have delivery. I cant justify a second fee to replace a rotted 70 cent onion I needed today. Now if your chosen item is out of stock and your substitute is out of stock the shopper will pick. When that happens, the choice is nowhere near the item I picked and without fail, always more expensive. The approve or reject time window is down to a few minutes. Our order this last weekend was awful but I dont think its the shopper. I barely caught a totally different substitution. The screen refreshed once and 36 items were all "shopped" at the same moment. The temp hold amount has gone from $10-$20 above the total to now between $60 and $75 above the total. Its not a container deposit, thats a separate line item in the total and my substitution choices are the same price or less. I know the actual cost even if I were to get substitutions, so how do they justify that much plus holding it for a week? Ive even had Walmart charge me twice on the same order plus the temp hold. The worst one on an order that was less than $200. We were charged twice and Walmart took OVER $500 out of our account. And it wasnt a one time mistake. Its happened twice in less than a year. I am so tired of the BS from them. Ive contacted the corporate office, the BBB and left so many feedback forms. Nothing changes and I've never been contacted or even received an acknowledgement. read more

Half the town works here. It amazes me how such a small county has a decent Megastore. There's the obvious grocery portion and then there's the pharmacy section, to include the garden section, but you can't skip the auto, toy, and home section. There's not much to say. It's like all the other Walmarts around the country. I'm sure you read my reviews on a couple of them. Things are misplaced and the aisles packed with people and stockers are in the way. If I could give them 0 or negate stars it would be -10! Here's why. 1. Not friendly: when entering the store once upon a time (pre-Fauci-ouchy) there were door greeters, and they were cheerful, polite, respectful and kind. Occasionally there would be one or two in a grouchy mood, but don't we all get that way once in a while and we deserve grace. Here's what it's like now you're not greeted you judged as you walk in the door, and as you walk out your constantly checked if you were stealing. No one says welcome to Walmart and no one is polite or respectful anymore. 2. They are Not disability, respectful. What do I mean by that well today I was at Walmart I have an auto immune disease. I have constant chronic pain in my hands and arms and I purposely went to self check out because I wanted to use their handgun and just scan every barcode on every item in my cart, without having to take everything out of the cart I also didn't want to go to the regular checkstand because you have to take everything out of your cart and when you don't look like you're disabled when you look like you can walk around when you look like you can hand handle picking items up and putting them down when you are in your 40s and you appear to be fine. You are definitely judged and treated differently! I know why they want you to put everything on their scanner and pick everything up and scan it individually. It's because they think that you were going to steal. I told them that I am not intending on stealing anything and they could come over and watch me scan every item , I explained why I can't pick it all up again and put it all back in there and I would rather just scan it while it's in my cart with the handgun instead of picking it all up and putting it back was help offered? no! It wasn't instead I was told consistently Three different times to take everything out of my cart and scan it the way she wanted me to scan it! I am the type of person and if I forgot to scan one thing I shopped at Safeway and I've done this a couple times I put flour on the bottom of my cart. I forgot to pull it out and scan it. I get to my car. oh no, I didn't pay for it I load everything in my car and I go back in and I pay for that item. I am not a thief I do not steal! I prefer to shop at Safeway because they let you shop the way you want. I can even come up to the front register and grab one of their bags. I leave the tag on it and I will go around and collect what I need and pay for that bag Because you know what those employees know me in there they know me by name I shop there so much they treat me as if I'm a friend coming into a house Walmart on the other hand treats you like you're a product. Clean and well-stocked. This store has most everything that Wal-Marts in bigger cities and is cleaner & everything is neater & more organized. The food side has nice fresh fruits & veggies, a good deli w/ tasty foods, complete grocery & frozen foods with nice dairy & snack section. My only wish is that Wal-Mart would keep more in the store. We like looking at things like compasses and walkie-talkies at the store. It helps us decide on the best. We also like seeing & buying immediately. Even if it's a bit more money. I guess, we are instant gratification folks! And if I have to wait to go online, I will go to E-Bay or Amazon. I'm not sure what the problem the other Yelp had with employees but we had extremely nice & professional staff...and got through the line quick! read more

This place was awful to me and my children. The employees were not wearing their masks right. They are harming me and many other families who are suffering because of the COVID-19. They did not have any of the toys my children wanted in stock. They were very disappointed. I wanted to take them to get a treat for being good and doing their chores. I am VERY angry and upset. And I also wanted to make pasta tonight, but they didn't have ANY PASTA LEFT. SAME WITH THE WINE SELECTION. THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE $5 WINE IN STOCK. I am beyond angry at this point and the story gets worse. Right when I went to go checkout one of the employees started making fun of me and started calling me a "Karen". This was VERY disrespectful. I checked prices online before going and they were regular price. I advised the staff person closest to me and he said let me check. OMG, this place is such a horrible dump! No wonder every person shopping inside looks miserable and aggravated. Good luck dodging the homeless, angry drivers, the cave of gimpy carts, to select your overpriced food (Fred Meyer is overall cheaper unless it's coffee and a couple other things), to discover they ALWAYS only have at most 2 out of (15? or so) checkout stands open with an actual clerk in them. Meanwhile, there are employees absolutely everywhere undercover, or w/ little yellow vests doing NOTHING. Enjoy watching them rush back and forth with their little walkie talkies urgently trying to get people to use the self-checkout. Basically they've made the store so obnoxious people will do just about anything to get out of there. I like to occasionally go through the self-checkout just so I can glitch out their machine and make them come and help me over and over. And another thing, the garden dept: I bought several bags of some off brand 'organic' potting soil last year, not only did everything put in it, die, but it sprouted tons of magic mushrooms. I mean, tons and tons. BTW they tend to grow in wood chips so basically that's what the soil was, dirty wood chips. Too bad I'm not into that sort of thing, but it's a funny story. Bought 3 Dahlias last year which all turned out to have the worst case of potato nematodes ever, even looking at images online trying to figure out what it was, these were much worse. $20 down the toilet. I bought a half dozen at Bi-mart next door and no problems, but Walmart is just a cash and grab they don't care about the long run with their customers or community, and they act like it. That's the problem with Walmart, you pretend you're getting a deal but in the end you're just pissing away your money and having an awful experience in the process. They suck. read more

Well, I was surprised. I had a great shopping experience here today. No homeless people accosted me. I didn't even see any. Not only that, but almost every checkout line was open, and I have never seen that in a Walmart in my life. This is absolutely the worst Wal-Mart I have ever been in, I would even go if I wasn't forced to by clients I work for. I was yelled at by a supervisor not to go thru the doors to the outside plant area, gess there was a problem out there but they could have put a note on the door instead of yelling at me. They have taken away all the benches in the store to sit for a minute, so if you are older and have mobility issues, to bad. Now they stopped carrying plus size clothing and when you live in a town there isn't much shopping in this is a problem. The back door to the tire center was locked during the day totally against the fire code, no way to get out. The worst part for me is the restroom in the back of the store has a sign that it's a handicap bathroom but no button to open the door from either side and no door stop to open the door for my disabled client. I have called the store manager and asked that a .97 cent door stop be added to the door he assured me he would and they sell the item at that store but hasn't been installed yet and has been over a year. Personal shoppers and stockers are very rude getting in the way of customers. Then you have to do self checkout and asked leaving the store for your receipt, sorry not gonna hand over my receipt to someone who has touched 1000 other people's receipts during a pandemic, sorry this makes them mad but that is the stupidest thing ever. I have nothing nice to say about this store or its employees. They need to clean house and have better training set up. read more

I am tired of being treated like a criminal whenever I leave there. I had a super heavy overloaded cart that I had just paid for at a check stand, not self checkout. I could barely keep this thing moving and I had their little door Nazi step in front of my cart and hold his hand out until I would hand over my receipt...not ok. He didn't even look at the stuff in my cart just put a check mark on my receipt and moved out of the way. So then my scrawny ass had to give it everything I had to get my cart going again since he stopped me in front of their rugs. Next time I'm going to run him over or he can push my damn cart himself. Better yet have him do something useful like stock the empty shelves or run a check stand. read more

I know... I know... locals LOVE to bitch about this place. As if they have a ton of options (lol). Okay, I admit there are things about it I don't like. But the more I read, understand, and watch the business model, the more I believe the US Government could stand to take MANY lessons on success from Walmart. Nobody has done better financially, and continued to prosper such as Walmart and maybe... just maybe... it has a little something to do with how and who they hire. You see, most frequently my issue with retail stores is high school aged, part-time help that is more interested in talking about which brand of BEER they tried the night before and which purse they hope to buy the next time they are let out of their local cage... yet you can go to virtually any Walmart and be greeted (hopefully) by someone older than 16. Usually a whole lot older. And sometimes they even smile genuinely or say something positive. I don't like walking a mile to find an open register, but on my last visit to the local Walmart I was so pleasantly surprised I have to comment. Our checker was new (but I wouldn't have known it unless he mentioned it). I had commented on how happy he seemed to be (a rarity when shopping in Coos Bay/North Bend) and how much I appreciated it. He immediately jumped into an explanation of how it was actually his second day on the job and how very much he loved it. Felt like family! He had no fears which his previous job had left him with after being accosted by a fellow-employee. So, say what you will about hating the place... but you can generally find anything you could drive to Toys R Us looking for, and likely for less. You can be treated respectfully and know there's much to be learned by anyone interested in GROWTH by watching the Walmart Business Model. Laugh... poke fun... hate if you wish. You aren't the model of success you're laughing at, so perhaps it's time to step off and recognize how grateful a struggling little coastal community is to have an expansive cheap and usually friendly place to shop. Just like any other Wally World =] only less "ghetto" hehe. I thought the Walmart TV's were pretty cool.. weird, but cool. Thier souveniers are up at the front of the store. Low prices like usual. Only bad thing we encountered were the digital prints machines. You have to use a LOT of PATIENCE with these machines. They are vague and don't let you know if they are processing information as they are. It was convenient to have though and it had the option for Hours pick up or Days. Yay for the not so PC Wal-Mart. I don't want to be the stereotypical person and just pour hate on Walmart, but this place just bleeds bad employees in some pivotal areas (i.e. customer contact). It's hard to be a large retail store and hire employees who care, because most of them just see it as a job and not a career. Let's start with some highlights first. Cleanliness Surprisingly clean for what it is. I'll give it a star for that. I do enjoy coming here knowing how polished the store can be. The whole store is pretty clean and organized. Well let's just say as organized as the customers let it be. Most customers take something and put it somewhere else. Employees can't see everything, but for what it's worth, the store is pretty darn organized. Food Another star for its selection. The freshness of the food here is awesome. No worries on anything spoiled. The selection is enough for the main staples a person would need. Any special ingredients you probably won't find here, but the majority is there. Selection A lot of random things can be found here. Items that you weren't even thinking about. Prices as always are great. Most of the time you can find what you need and at the right price...usually. Online/Price Matching This is where it loses a star. Yes it's not the stores fault, but more the corporation. It doesn't allow stores to price match it's online price. Instead they have a "pick-up in store" option. So not that big of a deal right? Just buy it online and select "pick up in store"... Online Pick-Up/Customer Service THE WORST THING ABOUT THE PLACE. You're forced to buy it online and pick it up in store. Great. But don't forget you have to stand in this tiny cut out room, hit the service button. Wait 5 minutes for a clerk. No clerk in sight, so you hit it again. Repeat. Eventually someone comes, ONLY to tell you they need to find the person who is in charge of the department, so you wait...and wait. On average it'll take you about 20 minutes to pick up your online order. It's SO long just for something SO SIMPLE. It's almost better having the item shipped to you if it was free shipping. WHY IS EVERYONE SO SLOW HERE? So this review won't change your mind about the place. You'll still go there. But don't expect any star service from personnel you have to come in contact with.. read more

This store is a joke. Terra one of their employees has been harassing me for almost a year.I have reported every incident and even though she is a very unstable very unprofessional employee, she remains employed. 5+ incidents later she found out where I live and continues to harass me and my family. She cursed out my teen age daughter and when I confronted her she called the police and said I was harassing her. After having her trespassed from my home, I went into the store and was once again at a loss for words when she reports to the managers who by the way do absolutely nothing when it comes to her harassing me and my children in the store. Terra tells them that she has a restraining against me, which is a blatant lie, without asking for any proof Rava and Jade(who is her friend) trespass me and say they have to protect their employee!! Please take my advise and shop elsewhere! Mark and Jim were also no help, they did absolutely nothing to investigate this situation, Jim has not returned any of phone calls and seem to be unbothered by the whole situation. read more

Went to Walmart North Bend today. There was a person holding a sign inside the entrance, begging for money. A customer told him to leave him alone and the guy started screaming at the customer and chased him across the parking lot to his car. Several Walmart employees witnessed the incident and did nothing. Management allowed him inside the store to beg with a sign and harass customers. Pathetic. read more

Wal-mart is spending a great deal of money on national advertising of their "safe" and "convenient" pickup option. It is neither safe nor convenient when the associate assigned to put your order in your trunk is wearing his mask on his chin and asks customers to roll down their windows to talk. Everyone is stressed by covid and no one likes wearing masks, but please use common sense and follow the law - public contact employees need to wear masks and wear them correctly. If you like your food dirty and dented cans and horrible customer service then it's not so bad. The pharmacy could not fill my prescription and told me that their system would not keep it in there since it was out of stocked and I would have to keep calling back in to see if they had any in stock because of this. They could not automatically fill it when it came in like every other pharmacy does. My suggestion is to do self checkout if you need to shop at Walmart. I love Walmart.... just not this one! read more

I have decided that I'm going to get all of my groceries at Safeway. Walmart seems to want to force everybody to use their new scan and go app system. And my problem with the new skin and do system is that there is nothing keeping someone from scanning a bottle of generic detergent and placing a bottle of tide in their bag. Employees have already told me that they cannot go through customers bags. The problem that I have with that is in the loss from Walmart will trickle down to the rest of us customers. read more

If I could give a negative one million I would. I have never been as appauled as I as hen I heard what good ol coos bay walmart did!! In augest 2011 a man as lying unconcious on the ground in great need of medical attenion, gasping not breathing. There was an RN, present and the Coos Bay Walmart employees shoved her out of the way, and a 16 year old boy ( just fresh from his CPR training bent down to begin CPR when he got elbowed in the face by another walmart employee. The employee's would not admister CPR, and refused to even let an RN help. The man ended up passing away. I am discusted. Apparently it is "walmart's" policy to NOT HELP ANYONE WHO COLAPSES. I guess thier way of way of doing so is by beating up good somaritans that are trying to help someone in great need! Customer service in the non food side of the store is poor and needs to be improved. Plant section is one of the worst and not staffed in the early afternoons. Merchandise not correctly price labeled in many cases and checkout doesn't want to help out when items do not scan correctly. Very rude and unhelpful personnel in some instances. The staff on the food staff seem a lot more helpful and friendly. The store badly needs to repave both parking lots as well. Layout and store in general needs to be made 2 storey as it horribly configured even with its new layout. read more
