I try to avoid this place like the plague. Too bad there isn't a Target nearby (closest one is on the Berlin Turnpike).

This walmart is ALWAYS packed, i mean always!! Even in the middle of the night. By packed i dont mean waiting in line 10 minutes im talking like a 30 minute plus wait. The registers crashed the other day while i went. The associates said they dont know when they'll come back on, dont know whats the problem, and that there were NO working registers in the store. Come to find out there was one working one still in electronics. Did any of the associates care to notify us? No. we had to find out from fellow shoppers in this crisis. read more

I agree with the other recent reviews. You might as well write this store off until it finishes it's remodel. Parking is a disaster scene, inside is just as much a mess. By the way if you doing go there, don't buy chips; employees moving racks of them just throw the bags into boxes. I feel sorry for Tostitos. People will likely associate the crushed chips with the brand instead of the store. read more

Came here late last night to do some after-work grocery shopping. I typically use the self scanners, but they're never open after midnight. Vicki helped me at the checkout, and she took the fresh produce out of the produce bags with her plastic-gloved hand that had clearly been handling money for hours on the register. The glove was grey and black, and touched my clean produce. I couldn't have been more horrified or disgusted. There was no reason to take the produce out of the produce bags- isn't that the whole point of them? This store does not practice clean habits. I will be going to the 24 hour grocery store down the street in place or coming here. read more

yay wal mart. this was the first one i went to in CT many years ago. it hasnt changed much, feels old and not up to date, but its wal mart i guess it doesnt really need to. parking lot is big. pretty easy to get to off the highway. read more

Beautiful renovations in this new super Walmart. This is my closest Walmart and, as such, I have been going here for years. I love the new food section and updated craft section. Everything is neat and well organized. The only problem is, when you gain things you sometimes lose some things. It seems like the stationary section shrunk and there is less to choose from in the clothing and other items. But overall, a good store. read more

Shopped here as a last resort but will never shop here again.This store seems to be somewhat like the Bermuda triangle of Walmart store you shop here on line,they take your money but no one can tell you where your item is.Stay away from this store. read more

Awful, awful, awful. I ordered 4 lamps online for in store pick up. Online checked the inventory and all items were in stock. Website said it would be ready around 5:45. At 6:15 I called to check as the order wasn't complete. Placed on hold 5 minutes, hung up, called back, placed on hold 5 minutes. Call back, finally got someone, but her systems weren't working and needed to check her Palm Pilot (um, who has those anymore?). She never asked my name or order number but told me it would be ready in 5 minutes and wait for the confirmation email. Never came. Called back, put on hold, called back, put on hold. At 7:54pm a manager finally offered to replace the lamps they couldn't find with a comparable model. It should not have taken that long to resolve a simple inventory issue. I'll never go back. read more

Even with the remodel the employees continue to be rude and mean. I asked an employee to help me find lamps she answered "I don't speak English"! Really, so I asked in Spanish, she answers me in perfect English "oh this isn't my department"! REALLY you could have just said that from the beginning instead of trying to blow me off. I love Walmart and this place is really close to my job so I'll continue going here but they need serious employee retraining and soon. read more

First of all I would like to make a awesome shout out to "Morgan" at the electronic section of Walmart uncle grandmother and I walked into the electronic section and asked if she can help us with a phone bill with the iPhone 5c. The phone was dead, but this girl waited and made sure that we got the service that we needed I definitely think she deserves a raise. I was very very happy. I am currently on hold, by phone, for 46 minutes and counting at the Cromwell CT Wallmart. My husband called from his phone, and has been on hold for 41 minutes. Absolutely disgusted with the customer service. Low prices......maybe, but you clearly get what you pay for. Terrible phone service. read more

Yeasterday was my worst day shopping in Walt-Mart.. I bought a laptop and I was having trouble with it because it was freezing almost everyday.. I try to return it and I got a nightmare doing it. My whole day went down the tubes dealing with the electronics clerk and with the assistant supervisors too. I asked to see the general manager so I could deal directly with him but was never able to see him. I go to Wall Mart to do most of my shopping but I guess they will not see me for a long time. read more

I was at store 2296 in Cromwell, CT to return an item, a straighttalk phone that i purchased at the Berlin store 6 days earlier. Since I bought a protection plan, my return warranted a return of both items. The computer system would not allow the return for the plan at all. I patiently waited for over an hour for them to try to figure out how to do this. It took 2 asst mgrs, customer svc mgr and the orig cs rep and in the process, I was not only humiliated by Rich the asst mgr but yelled at/heckled by his wife/girlfriend who happened to be at the store. (Since when does an employee's significant other get involved in company business during work hours, is this a new Walmart policy?) I was upset that they could not refund me and could only give me a credit on a gift card when I had my receipt and the problem is on Walmart's side...no need for a gift card or my id. They just said there was no way around it... Funny thing about this whole encounter is that the Asst Mgr Rich took an inordinate amount of time to get to/help at cs because he was busy shopping with the wife/girlfriend/heckler and later outside chit chatting with her and her daughter by the car as we sat and watched from a few rows of parked cars over and when we left, he had stayed outside for like 10-15 minutes and was still out there when we drove away...I wonder if that was while on the clock, and funny that he was angry that he had to help me because he wanted to be doing personal things, like shopping and hanging out outside by the car with his s.o. Furthermore, he claimed that I called him and his staff stupid, which I did not, I called the system stupid and that there should be a work around that does not require my personal information and since Walmart tracks returns now, I should not be penalized for the issues with the system. The CS rep, at the start had said she had to turn people away today because only half of their returns would go through and that I was not the first or only one with a problem; I was just the most persistent one. She witnessed most of the encounter and realized that I never once called anyone a name, that I was generally calm until Rich walks in with an attitude, refuses to listen to my issue and then insists that I called him and his staff stupid and then his s.o. yells from a couple rows over heckling me telling me I was calling him stupid...who invited her into the conversation....new company policy for s.o.s to belittle customers just so she can defend her man and his employer, all this interfering from her while he is being insistent that I am being rude and all this in front of my 9 and 10 year old who were in complete disbelief over the treatment we received by the store managers, especially Rich who was just rude from the moment they called him on the radio. Over the radio he was rude(perhaps because his shopping trip was disrupted) and I warned Liz the CS Mgr that if he was going to behave that way when he got to me, we would have a problem. I NEVER get on a website to complain about staff behavior, this is a first, but considering how I was treated and what my children witnessed, I think that not only does my problem have to be addressed but staff esp Rich need some CS training or a new job. I am appalled as to how rude and uncaring management was, but the store is completely understaffed and mgmt itself is not versed in how to return items with a receipt so that it returns correctly. End result, never got my $40 back for a protection plan, have to go back tomorrow and try this again, the manager, Angela was not intelligent enough to read the Walmart receipt to realize that the protection plan gets taxed(insisted the return was only $39 until I asked her to do the math as to the total of the sale, did she say, "oh sorry, you're right" no, she did not. This whole encounter was just like a chapter out of a horror story. On top of it, my son was picking something up at site to store,encountered almost all the same staff and was appalled at the lack of initiative and the 1 hour time it took to pick something up due to short staff and items not put where they belonged for site to store pickup. NEVER going to this Walmart again unless I am dragged there or taken at gun point...seriously! I also have a complaint in on their site and am calling the district headquarters about this whole affair in the morning. read more

They are currently remodeling this store and the shopping experience has markedly deteriorated. The parking situation is a mess and at the time of this writing, piles of snow are everywhere exacerbating it. Just about all their stock has been moved around, and their seems to be less of it. Broken mobility scooters at the entrance and a customer returns area that looks smaller than the old store had aren't improvements. read more

I have mixed feelings about this Walmart location. I feel like it is better maintained and looks nicer than other Walmarts that I have been to, but there are still problems with it. I would not suggest using Site to Store at this location. I have twice now, and both times were a hassle. The first time, I waited and waited at the counter. There is a sign that says to press something at the register to let someone know you need help. But, the credit card machine already said someone was alerted to come help. I decided to wait since that should mean someone would come soon. Not only that, but there was a cup of ice water on the counter. Plenty of ice in it, so it must have been put down recently. I probably waited 15 minutes before help came. Then when it did come, no one could find my order. They kept asking me if I was sure that it was here and if I had gotten the correct email. I did, a few days earlier. Still could not find it. They eventually refunded me and found something on the floor that was the same. Overall that trip, I was probably at that counter for 45 minutes. Their loading dock is at the back of the store and the counter is at the front. If something isn't at the counter, they have to walk all the way to the back of the store and search through was has been delivered. The counter should be right next to where everything is loaded so this doesn't happen. It made my wait so much longer. The next time I went to the counter, there was no one there again. Remembering what had happened previously, I went to customer service and asked them to call someone over. They did and I waited at the Site to Store counter. Several minutes had gone by, and no one to be seen. A man had been cleaning up the entrance area near the counter and eventually came over to make another call for someone to come over. Again with a long wait. Someone did come and actually found my order this time, but I was still not pleased with how they handle this area of the store. read more

I stopped to get something needed for work and someone took my wallet. Management 1st claimed security wan't in until end of day to look at cameras, later co manager Kathy said looking at cameras would not help as only exit and entrance would be seen and she doubted it would help. I asked to have maintenance check trash as bags are clear and perhaps money would be taken but wallet would be discarded, Kathy then said she they look at trash everyday for discarded items they are trained that way. They certainly did not seem to care that my wallet was stolen, or understand how upsetting it is. I called later to see if it had been returned and the person that answered asked why I wanted a manager and when I said my wallet had been stolen earlier she replied "and what do you want the manager to do about it?" Rude employees, horrible customer service. Sad that that they do not feel a customer having their wallet stolen while shopping is a serious problem. I filed a police report, but it seems the management could not care less. I will never shop in this store again. read more

My boyfriend and I went there this past Saturday to do food shopping as we usually do every weekend . This past weekend - we were stopped by two men and told us there were 10 items that did not go thru. feeling perplexed, we automatically advised them that if anything in fact did not go thru we have no issue paying for it as there must be some sort of discrepancy w/ the self checkout machines. We cooperated and allowed them to look thru the shopping cart in which 6 items were not properly scanned (chocolate chip cookies, ritz crackers, 2 turkey patties, and a slim fast shake.) My boyfriend told them he had no issues paying for them as we ALWAYS shop at that store every single weekend. We were loyal customers. The loss prevention men called the police and deemed my boyfriend innocent. The police came and spoke w/ loss prevention in which I was given a summons to go to court for larceny 6th degree. They accused me of stealing $26 worth of items. They would not listen to my side of the story and did not care that I was a loyal customer of that Walmart. I never had the chance to talk w/ management. This store has got to be one of the most disgusting , horrid places I have ever experienced in my life. Now I must go to court to prove my innocence when in fact I am not guilty of doing anything wrong. read more

Love the new renovations that were completed here. This store is the best one around, it literally has everything. I enjoy that I can do all my shopping in 1 spot, now if only it had a rewards card and a gas station! read more
