When I brought to the attention of deli worker she had priced an item incorrectly, first she tried to ignore me and helped other people while it was clear I was next, then when confronted she states it's on .30 cent different. I kindly said then meet me at check out and pay it! Then after changing price she sat item on counter and proceeded to walk away. I kindly opened back touched food and stated "Madame I've change my mind" and left said item on counter! Madame succubus find another job where you have no contact with the very people paying your salary or lack there of, maybe night store stocker, trash pickup (that would suit you well), or maybe this job at Walmart is where you should be, because like you they don't give a damn about its customers or employees. Be careful if you are returning an item from home delivery. Instead of knocking on my door and collecting the $5 item I was returning this lady picked up my Amazon package (a $40 electric toothbrush that had JUST been delivered ) and pretending to scan it and even processed a refund before walking away with my package. I have called the store repeatedly and no one answers. I called Walmart customer support. They took a claim and I never heard back. read more

WHY OH WHY are they locking up in cases with men's shaving supplies? (gels, blades, razors, etc. WHY OH WHY are they locking up in cases soap? (bath soap, hand soap, etc) WHY OH WHY are they locking up cans of spray paint? A cashier has to come and enter their key anyway! What's next? Coffee and tea in locked glass cases? I'm sure this practice is only at select locations. You know I mean by that. You have to go to the service area and get an attendant with a key who then has to take your items down to the checkout and ring them up!!!!! Ridiculous! The workers hate this, the customers hate this! I needed a can of "kilz" yesterday but instead of driving 1 1/2 mile. to this Walmart, I bought from a paint store that was more expensive, less hassle. Oh yes, the store recently got remodeled!!! The garden department doubled in size! But wait, you can't enter/exit from/to the outside anymore. There is NO cashier in the garden department!! Just an attendant that sits there. I placed a grocery order very early this morning. I asked for it to be delivered between 1 and 2. I get a text from the store that my (and this is after it was to be on its way to me), that it will be two hours late. I tried to call the store but as always they don't answer their phone. Why ask what time you want it delivered to you if you are not going to have it to a person on time? I had plans this afternoon and they screwed them up for me. From the time that Sam Walton died the chain has gone downhill. You would think they would adjust the bill a bit for not being able to keep their word about the time they will have it to you. They don't care. If you ask an employee for help, they will mean mug you as if you just asked to slap their momma. If you need access to an enclosed product behind glass that needs to be unlocked, their response (after staring at you like you just ruined their day with the request) is that they don't have the key. That's it. They don't offer to get somebody who does have the key or can help in any way. If you are lucky enough to find a "manager" they usually aren't much better. Lazy. I've frequented this Walmart for years. I recall when the opened. Anyhow, they're a typical Walmart carrying an abundance of everything you'll ever need. What most people may not know is that Walmart carries a good selection of vegan, gluten free, sugar free and healthy food options. One of the negatives shopping here is that they usually do not have enough cashiers in place. Today I was pleasantly surprised to see several lines open with just 2 or 3 people checking out. Over the last month or so I've noticed that some of the staff at this location are making an effort to be helpful. read more

I traveled to this Walmart from another Walmart after checking stock for a laptop I wanted. The location I was at showed stock but ended up not having it so I traveled to this location that also showed stock. It wasn't very busy and I was helped immediately by the employee in electronics. She was SUPER nice and checked every single cabinet for me. Again, it showed it was in stock in the store but they didn't actually have it. As annoying as that was they still get 4 stars because of how nice and helpful the employee was. I wish I remembered her name! She deserves a raise! read more

The slowest store in America, never enough registers open for the customers, self check out is never open long, or close at a certain time. Managers just be walking around like they don't need to get in a register to cut the lines down. But if I go to other side of town up North better service, more cashier's and better selection on food and other items. Prices are very good and affordable but it's just the lines are ridiculous. I asked a manager for assistance for a pick up and was told he has more clocked in so he can't assist me. All I need to know was were to go to pick up since the place is not in the front of the store like the one near my house where you can see the bright orange sitting area to get your package. They are located in the back of the store and found at after standing in Customer Service line for 15-20 minutes and the cashier told me. There should be a sign as you come in to show you where the pick up location is at. read more

Honestly a very good Walmart. I've been to many of these stores and they vary in size and availability. As far as the self check out messing up or being slow, this happens pretty much at any retail outlet that offers this service--- no reason to write poorly about the experience just check out the normal way next time. The produce section was much bigger than I'm used to any had fresh variety which was surprising. It was easy to navigate the store since there was big, oversized signs all over the place. This Walmart is not excessively over picked so I was able to find the items I needed. It is a convenient location and I will use it often when I am in town. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. If you're looking to grab toiletries DO NOT GO HERE. They have everything locked up. You have to get an employee to unlock and grab your item. I can't begin to explain how bad this Walmart is. Nobody in here cares in the slightest. I needed something out of the auto case, low and behold there's nobody in the department. Okay. Well I go to electronics to get them to call over the speaker for someone, alright cool. Well after 10 minutes something's gotta be up right? So I go to customer service, since I couldn't find anyone outside of the electronics and pickup departments. And they call the person by name, so you think it'd be solved right? Nope, they aren't on the sales floor and nobody knows where the keys are. How are we in a Walmart and nobody can locate the keys to a case? So I called 5 times to ask if they had a product I was looking for. The call was never picked up. The service of the employees is sub par, and the workers here don't know of commonly used products. I asked 4 employees if they had a certain product I was looking for (essential oil), and none of them knew what it was. The best they could tell me was "I don't know.", without even trying to go and find it for me. After about 20 minutes, I finally found a worker there who at least KNEW what essential oils were, and she at tried to help. There ended up not being essential oils, so I guess I will have to get it somewhere specialized. On other occasions, I've done the Ship to Store option on the Walmart website, and that was all okay. However, when I go to pick the product up, I'm met with a weird resistance. The first time, I waited in line about 10 minutes behind another customer. When that customer was finished, the employee behind the counter walked away. They said nothing to me, not "I'll be back in a minute", or even "Please hold on a moment." They simply walked away and came up about 10 minutes later. I was not hiding behind something, I was standing right behind the other customer and in plain sight. The second time I used the Ship to Store option, I went in and there wasn't anyone behind the counter... But there were employees walking to a back room that is in the same corner, using the bathroom. I stood about 5 minutes, and finally called out to sometime, and they told me they would be there in a minute. Then they went back to having a conversation for the next 10 minutes with another employee. On about 3 separate occasions, the other patrons of this particular Walmart have been exceedingly and unnecessarily rude to me, as well. I am a very polite person, and I actually have manners. On one occasion, I paused in a lane to look at the products on the shelves. The next thing I knew, a woman pushed her cart by me, and as soon as she was a step ahead of me, she turned around and said nasty things about me to her friend. Needless to say, I was shocked. Maybe it's just the neighborhood this Walmart is in, but I try not to go unless absolutely necessary and unavoidable. read more

This Walmart is on the site of what used to be a dying mall. (I think the Dillard's Outlet store was here before, a long time ago for ATLiens that can remember that far back.) So if you put a Walmart in Belvedere, and a low-end mall had trouble surviving, what kind of ambiance would you expect? One issue is the location. It's on Memorial Drive. But it's not far from Avondale Estates. So folks from time to time that would never travel to, or probably are unaware of the Belvedere Plaza and it's Kroger, complain about the Walmart, even prior to its building. But it is what it is. It's a large discount chain in a largely lower working class neighborhood. But I have found the same thing that I've found in every Walmart: Low prices. It's just very hard to pay more for exact same item at another store. Now of course with the Dekalb Farmers Market, it makes little sense to buy produce. YDFM has that locked up. But if you need stuff that grocery stores sell, than this is it. A lot of the reviews refer to this is a Ghetto Walmart. Real talk: They all are. I've been to Walmarts all over the country -- not a brag, just a fact of being on the road in small towns -- and they all have the same vibe, no matter what the dominant ethnicity is. Poor and working class folks go to Walmart. So to critique Walmart for its ambiance is as fair as critiquing Whole Food for its high prices. That's not what the store does. My only knock on this Walmart, as compared to others, is that it doesn't sell beer and wine. I've never thought to go here to buy a libation, but others do sell alcohol. (You can thank strong neighborhood opposition I am sure for that compromise.) Other than the bizarre, carnival like funnel cake store in the middle of the parking lot, this Walmart carries everything you'd expect. One final note on the lines. They are really long. Like 59th and Columbus Circle Whole Foods Long. Like DMV long. Like Customs lines long. There's a self-service section, but it distinguishes between cash and debit/credit card customers. One way to solve the line issue is to come during the day, but that's true with most grocery stores. In short, if you are looking for low prices with the tradeoff of longer lines, then this Walmart works well. If not, then Whole Foods is gladly awaiting your patronage. read more

Yup, this walmart is ghetto. I've seen with my own eyes a woman kicked out of a car by a guy and was yelled at to "get the f out of my car!" Have heard an older woman screaming, "Lord Jesus" multiple times, loud enough to hear 10 aisles down, and i've had a cashier hold a $5 in the air to check to see if it were legit. Yes, it's ghetto, but it's also the most entertaining store i've gone to....and with it being not 10 minutes from my home, I swing by on occasion. My visit today was actually pleasant. The woman asked about my chili pepper chocolate bar and we had a fun 20 second conversation with a have a great day. All I ask for really...good service and in and out in a hurry. I usually shop here because of the convenient location. The last two times I used the self checkout I spent an extra 30 minutes waiting for someone to fix the computer. Prior to this visit the computer malfunctioned and didn't print out my receipt. As a result they had to shut down the computer and rescan my items. Lo and behold I was charged twice in my credit card for that one purchase. Now I'm back at walmart trying to get reimbursed. However the first transaction isn't showing up in their system. In the future, to save myself the time and hassle I'll drive an extra 15 minutes to target instead. read more

Ugh, Wal-Mart. Yes, I am aware shopping here leads to the destruction of small businesses as well as my soul, but sometimes my insomnia needs something that a trip to CVS won't cure. This time it was paint. We got to Wal-Mart around 11, after being told over the phone they were open until 12. (Yes, I dragged the boyfriend along.) We made our way to the paint department, then proceeded to find the perfect shade of purple for my hallway. After waiting around for a few minutes, I stayed at the desk while the bf went to find someone to help. Seconds later there was an announcement for an associate to help in the paint department. Ten minutes later, with no employees helping but plenty walking by, he went to the front for further assistance. The manager made another announcement, then came to try to help us herself. She explained that no one in the store (of the 30+ employees) knew how to work the paint mixer. She suggested we come back tomorrow....um, no thanks, Home Depot will be open tomorrow. So I wasted half an hour and got no paint. I know that Wal-Mart doesn't really care about customer satisfaction, and though the manager did her best, I was really pissed off when we left. I really wanted to paint at 3am! Bottom line, avoid Wal-Mart, unless you know the joys of Milo's Sweet and Unsweet tea, then only go to pick up a gallon or two of that, since Wal-Mart is the only place this side of the Alabama state line that carries it. read more

Nope, nope, nope. Just another crappy Walmart with a small selection of many items beside the grocery aspect. I will go to Smart & Final or Trader Joe's if I want good cheap groceries. Clothes and other things are just cheaply made and not worth my time to purchase there. They fall apart or worse, so soon, one has to buy from them again. I'll spend an extra buck at Target and actually save money by not having to replace cheap stuff all the time. Do price comparisons and watch out for what is called a loss leader: a few super cheap items just to get you in the store to buy more cheap things that cost as much as they would anywhere else. This is one ghetto Walmart. It's just not well kept up. It may sadly be the worst-conditioned Walmart that I've seen thusfar. It also doesn't seem to be organized as well as it should be. One day I went there to pick up some protein supplements, and I found some on some clearance aisle. There was no pricing on it so I took it to the scanner and it rung up regular price. I asked one of the store managers whether or not that I found it over in the clearance aisles and I wanted to know if it was supposed to be discounted. She asked me to take her over to where I found it . . . she verified that it was in fact on the clearance aisle, but then she said it had been misplaced there. She then proceeded to basically take half of the nutritional supplements that were on the clearance aisle and place them in a shopping cart for restocking. Not really sure what's going on here. However, it is a Walmart Supercenter, and so that's gotta count for something . . . arbitrarily giving this place 2/5 stars. read more

It is always a nighmare coming to this store. There's absolutely no in and out. As mentioned before, the parking lot is a death trap. No matter what time I come, it is always busy. My absolute BIGGEST beef with this store is checking out. They have NO self-checkout lanes, and they never have enough registers open. The lines get so long that they spill into the aisles. It's a Wal-Mart. You know good and well what that means. As Wal-Marts go, this one is smallish. No tire center, no guns, and a really dinky excuse for a toy section, but a fairly large grocery section, a lot of small appliances, and a Subway with outdoor seating (ooh-la-la!). The parking lot is a hilarious nightmare, although it's cool that they kept the old family cemetery lot that's on the edge of the property. You kind of have to know where it is to find it now, though. All discussion aside, it's Wal-Mart, and you know what to expect from a Wal-Mart. At least this one is pretty clean. read more

Just thought I'd offer a breath of fresh air and leave a relatively positive review of this location. I take my two kiddies with me to make our weekly Walmart run after dropping Daddy at the train station. The key is... this occurs around 8:30 am on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. This shopping window is perfect because most folks are already at or en route to work, so the store is virtually empty. We always receive a warm "Hello!" upon our arrival by the older gentleman greeter. Employees are busy restocking shelves and the facility is remarkably clean. I'm familiar with the lay-out of the store, so the kids and I are in an out within an hour - after shopping at a leisurely pace. I wouldn't dare venture to this or any other Walmart during peak hours (ESPECIALLY not the one on Gresham Road off of I-20... what a clustercuss), but the morning shopping is a dandy date for my little crew. read more

In the world of Decatur grocery shopping, you pretty much take what you can get. There just is not much to choose from. No, this Walmart is not anything special, but it has pretty good variety, you can knock out a bunch of stuff at once, and its cheap. On the downside, it does not sell alcohol, it can be a headache parking and can be disorganized, and checkout can be a real pain (I am almost always behind someone who takes 15 minutes to pay for their stuff and have to work hard not to go apoplectic). But all Decatur stores have pros and cons. The Farmers Market is great, but they don't have a lot of stuff. The downtown Kroger is just too small. Other than that, there is not much to choose from. I go to this store mostly out of necessity. It's not the worst place in the world, but I wouldn't suggest going for fun. read more

She was super helpful and very kind. Everyone else working noticed a huge line, were all playing on their phones.
