I was on my way home after babysitting 3 hours away from my house and I needed to cash the check I was given because I needed to get gas and all of the banks were closed... The parking lot was a shit show with employees standing around doing NOTHING... When I walked in I noticed the Money place was closed so I went to ask an employee who was standing around doing NOTHING where I could cash the check... I said excuse me 3 times and then he turned around looked at me and walked away... so I went and asked another employee and she was very sweet... I went to customer service and stood in the line for about 20 minutes just to be told they only cash checks up to 200... on the Walmart website it says they cash any checks and mine was only for 250... so overall this Walmart has terrible customer service and unless the website is a lie lazy employees who don't want to help customers read more

I'm going to say this..... Walmart is what it is! Everything is where it always is, the staff is mostly 3 stars. You see some workers that are dedicated and you see some that's not. One thing you can always count on is that the return process never changes and they're always registers that are closed. Call me crazy but what can I say? I love Walmart. I love that I can go to the one place and get everything I need at a reasonable price. Since I've moved, this is now the closest Walmart to me. I know the recently changed the store hours from 24 hours to now closing at midnight. This was definitely a bummer to find out because I usually could find everything I needed with less lines the later I go (like 12am - 1am). When we went on the night of the 12th, I totally forgot about the hours being changed. It was right around 11pm so there's really only 1 good hour left before the store would be closing. I went to go check out around 11:15ish and they only had 4 lines open. The 12th was a Saturday night. These four lanes were packed and long as ever. I assume because it was less than an hour before closing, they closed the self-checkout area. The wait time in the lines was extremely ridiculous. My photos will be able to show the 4 lines open and the self-checkout area closed. Also, it was very disorganized throughout the women's section and in the area with the shoes. I can't say that I won't be back because most likely I will. But this Walmart truly needs to do better!!!! read more

I am pleased to announce that this Walmart has brought back SELF CHECKOUT! I don't know why the cashiers use so many bags, but that won't be a problem with self checkout. The grocery prices here are consistently at least 25% less than Kroger/Harris Teeter. Basic meats like burger and chicken breast are high quality, and their Great Value dairy products are excellent. The customer service desk is often backed up, but they are easy to work with. Shelves are always stocked - I can not recall the last time they were out of something. I have shopped here since 1995. The parking lot between the auto and garden center is never full, and has some shady spots too! read more

As God is my witness I will never darken the door of this store again. I dashed in today after work today for a half gallon of milk because this store is relatively close to my home. I got my milk and headed for the self-checkout. I was in luck there was a register open. I sprinted up to the self-checkout and scanned my half gallon of milk. The monitor flashed a message that this register does not accept cash would I like to proceed? This one-size-fits-all do-it-yourself culture that we live in, yeah gotta love it. I pressed the word no and headed for another self checkout only to be vexed by a rather large middle-aged lady who came into the register lane the wrong way and cut me off at the pass. I had nothing to do but wait since the attendant for the self-checkout was more interested in playing with her cell phone than actually helping customers. You see she had a register and could have checked me out at that register. It was much easier to ignore me. I finally was able to purchase my milk and deposit my $2.03, call me crazy but I find it to be anathema to put that kind of charge on my debit or credit card. I headed for the door. There was a group of feral youths lurking outside the exit. They were accosting customers for some sort of charitable donation. One of the youths jumped in front of me but I adroitly stepped out of the way to make my escape but in doing so was then pelted by a barrage of profanity for not donating to their charity. I probably should have turned around to see if the charity was for Potty Mouth International and if it were then should have given a $20 donation. Clearly these feral youth were in need of some manners and some rules in etiquette especially when begging money from perfect strangers. So to wrap up this diatribe, I do not appreciate the fact that I was ignored buy a Walmart employee. That I was cut off at the pass by a fellow shopper. And that I was all but assaulted buy unruly youth trying to collect money. So New Hope Commons Walmart you will never see me darken your door again. I will go out of my way and pay more at Target or Harris Teeter. read more

This Walmart is the worst to go to. No one in customer service ever answer the phone. You hear them answer and they still say nothing and hangs up. Customer service is the worst at this store when it should be the best,considering it's location. Trying to get a a simple tire change, and don't wanna waste the ride to be told we're booked for the day. No complaints!! I visited this Walmart while visiting Chapel Hill. Even though I visited late at night, Everything was still clean, well organized, and easy to find. If you're looking for UNC and Tarheel apparel and accessories, they have a whole section dedicated to these two local institutions. The store was well stocked with both product and personnel. It's a pretty good place but some of the workers are rude and if you ask them questions they say they are new while they are not.

I get really tired of the poor service in this store! This is the only one in this area, but I think I am just going to have to shop at Target or somewhere else, because you can not get waited on, and if you do, they act like they are doing you a BIG favor by having to do their job! I was going to buy a tablet, but the guy as ignoring me... he even walked over to me but when I ask to see the tablet, he walked away. I finaly went to the register and waited, and when he finaly spoke, he did not want to take the time to answer my questions. This place sucks!! I came in to pay my rent using money services. I stood at the Money Services kiosk for nearly 15 minutes while 2 cashiers kept glancing at me. Finally another associate strolled by and told me their computer system was down. I know in the grand scheme of things this is not a big deal but with this WalMart you're already pissed by the time you walk in. One has to practically run the gauntlet to get to the store. Parking is a joke and it doesn't seem to matter what time of day it is, it's always a nightmare. Almost every encounter with their staff has been miserable. I feel like they're told in staff meetings to avoid interacting with customer, but make sure to broadcast personal conversations amongst themselves. It's easier to find out when so-and-so is going on break than it is to find toilet paper. What's more upsetting is that this is all a reflection of leadership, or lack thereof. At this Walmart the cashier's are the worst. Very rude and discriminating. No manager on site to talk to. The cashiers have the worst attitude that they are doing us customers a favor. Horrible service! This review is mainly because he didn't give me all of the items I purchased. The check out guy could not have been moving any slower, and he bagged my items in way too many bags. Since the bags are very dark, opaque gray, you can't see what's inside them. He started bagging the next customer's stuff while I was still putting my bags in my cart, and when I got home I realized he kept one of the bags in the out-of-reach area near him. read more

I went to the auto center at this location and though the hours were said to be 9 AM to 6 PM on Sundays they decided to close at 4 PM because they did not have the staff to keep it open. They should either change the hours on Sundays or hire more staff. read more

It is not the biggest walmart supercenter I have seen but it is a really good sized walmart. It has a oretty bug produce section and the choices are definitely plentiful. Whether you are looking for cloths or shoes or candy they have it all. Pretty good read more

This is a great Walmart. The products are presented neatly and I always find everything that I need. The staff is friendly and professional and take pride in the appearance of the store. The only downside is that clothing sizes and selections of designs on products can be a bit limited, but this is to be expected at any retailer. The prices are consistently better than other area stores as well! read more

They generally have everything you need though not a huge selection. Oil change took over 2 hours. My car was just sitting in the bay with the hood up every time I would check on it. Also, if grocery shopping BE SURE TO CHECK THE DATES! I had purchased several items only to get home and see that a lot of them were outdated. I have never written an on-line complaint before. But if this helps one person choose a different place to shop than at Walmart, I will feel like I have helped the world to be a better place. Worst customer service, ever. Rude employee, rude customer service counter as I was complaining about first rude employee. Call before you go in, the service they offer on the website may have been discontinued or never have existed in that particular store. "That's the website's fault, not mine," was the defensive response I got. That was a response when I was being very polite, by the way. This Walmart is not actually that good, they lack many of the things I went to buy and the shelves are poorly organized. However, I gave it 3 stars solely for a quality employee that helped me purchase a tv. Felix was extremely helpful, courteous, and attentive to what I wanted to purchase. The tv I was looking for was out of stock, but they had a display model out. He said he would verify that there were no extras in the back and be right with me. He came back about 10 minutes later and said that the display model was the only one left and that I could buy it if I wanted. I asked if he had the remote and the box, so he went to look for it. He came back with both, at which time I asked him if he could lower the price as it was an older model and had a cracked base. He scanned the tag on the box and it said clearance special, while the price on the sticker was $100 more expensive. He said that he would need to call a manager to confirm which price was correct and potentially give us a bigger discount for the damage. We then waited for 25 minutes for the manager, Stephanie, to arrive. She talked to us for about 30 seconds, told Felix that he got the price wrong, told him there were 3 tvs of the exact same kind still in stock, and walked off without solving any of the pricing issues. Felix apologized for taking so long but said that he wanted to make sure we go what we were looking for and would go look for the tvs that supposedly existed. He spent another 10 minutes looking for the tv to try to find out what Stephanie was talking about but was unsuccessful. He tried to get her to come back but an assistant manager showed up instead (I do not remember his name but he was very helpful) and told him to sell the floor model at the discounted price as that is what the scanner said the latest price was. This whole ordeal took a total of 2 hours of waiting in the store for one item, a tv, that could have been resolved much more quickly had Stephanie been more competent. All in all I was extremely happy with my purchase and the customer service I got from Felix and the assistant manager while simultaneously being disappointed by Stephanie's inattentiveness and lack of managerial ability as well as the lack of items stocked on the shelves and the general messiness of the items on shelves. read more
