NEWSFLASH WALMART: The high-end consumer, that you are desperately trying to attract and keep, wants to be valued as a customer. Treating them badly only pushes them back into other stores because we can pay more for good customer service. This Walmart changed everything around and makes shopping here painful. It is obvious that they are forcing customers to go into every nook and cranny of the store to get basic items. It no longer a quick in and out. They removed the self check out area near the frozen food section by the front door. Instead you must walk past all the long lines of only like 4 check stations that had a cashier, on a Friday, to go all the way to the back near the garden center. 2 groups of 4 self check stations with out a way to really stand in line without blocking the isle completely. Don't buy any multiples. They are on top of you like TSA agents. Today. I was confronted because I bought 6 rolls of tape that cost $3.84. I was told to open the bag. She was standing right next to it. I said it was in that bag and pointed. She asked me to open it. Ridiculous as I had a full length cart in my way. I leaned open to try to unsuccessfully lift it. No help from her. Then she came back around, in the middle of processing my payment, to harass me because I bought 2 gatorades and treated me like I stole them. I have started to do more food shopping at Trader Joes & H Mart and order the rest through Amazon Prime to limit my Walmart exposure. I have been a regular here since 1997 and I was offended by the interaction, not so much because of checking on the items, but not being of assistance in any way. How about saying hello first before accusing me of being a thief. NEW ENCOUNTER: I dropped into Walmart to conduct some business at the customer service department. I have to say, the customer service department is very friendly. I would stop coming to this store if it wasn't them. The new self check out line is in a bizarre location. Walmart set up a barrier that made sense for waiting, but it was not enforced. Instead customer chose to flag me down saying we are waiting, but they formed a line hidden down the home goods isle...WHY? So I went through a regular checkout with an unfriendly "associate" . Now when I go through the self-checkout I always keep my receipt in hand, but this "associate" put it in a bag. The greeter is now a bouncer checking receipts as you leave. No big deal, I told him I don't know where the receipt is, it is in one of the bags. He proceeded to get agitated with me, rather than help me look. Demanded the receipt. I told him it is in one of the bags (which there was only 2). He moved on to someone else, I started to walk away behind another woman that was doing the same thing. HE BEGAN SCREAMING AT ME, WAVING ARMS, AND YELLED TO SOMEONE ELSE SAYING THIS WOMAN HAS NO RECEIPT. Someone else came over and found the receipt immediately which he picked up from one of the bags without moving anything. Walmart, get better employees, train them properly. Value your customers. It was fine the way it was. Corporate had to make changes and it's awful. Nothing is in places that make any sense. The workers are clueless. Make sure you don't accidentally grab something without a barcode, they won't go look for it they search on their phones and are 99% each time unsuccessful. It was so stressful trying to find items. The people of Walmart do exist. On a plus note the circus knows where to hire folks. All jokes aside, Walmart has done extremely well. This store is among their best. They always seem to have plenty in stock, and for groceries they have bargains. Right now the economy is not so good, so these savings help out a lot. They have nice employees here. I was impressed with the gentleman in electronics, who was able to compare the Nintendo Switch models for me. That was handled smoothly, and I've decided on the OLED. If you want a television, go here as their pricing is great. They also sell extended warranties. This works for basic shopping, and you'll find deals on OTC meds and health products. read more

Went to store today and got in behind 10 people to ck out at the fast ck out. There were not any clerk ck outs open. There was only 4 express registers open with a very nice store employee. Their website policy clearly states that they price match competitors. Never shopping at this location again. I called corporate and they said they should have honor such request. I was at this store today, there are two fitting rooms for the entire store. One was taken over for about 45 minutes and the other the door was locked from the inside. I stopped THREE Walmart employees and asked for help By unlocking the door. They all said they would try to find someone and never returned. There were people waiting for the one unoccupied but locked fitting room. I finally slid under the door on the disgusting floor to unlock the door for the stores patrons. I am NOT an employee yet that is what customer service is or looks like. I'll admit up front that I am not a frequent shopper at Walmart. Heck I'd just be content to push a button and order online. On Super Sunday though I needed a bag of water softener salt and was nearby the store and thought why not? Wow! The place was surprisingly mobbed and difficult to get around in. Despite the crowds, I found their one selection of salt as well as a couple of beauty items for the Mrs saving us a trip to another store or two. Checkout was a nightmare. We went to a manned checkout line as they were shorter than the self checkout corral. Big mistake. I watched for a good five minutes while the cashier tried to figure out why a $1 off coupon was not ringing up. My thought was can't you figure this out over at the Service Desk? This place looks very different from when I was here last time. One of the crew members who looked like she didn't wish to be bothered said the fresh produce section had been there for years. I noticed everything thing was lined up nicely and not on the floor. The place was very busy, but the crew members of this Walmart were on top of things. This Walmart location is open twenty-four hours a day. This was my first visit to this Walmart location. I was in search of a HDMI cord for newly purchased Sony Blu-ray/DVD player. An unknown Walmart provided excellent customer service, in regards to purchasing a HDMI cord. I couldn't help to find the store was very clean and practically empty. I purchased an Acer PC in October at a decent price. The salesperson knew zero about computers, but I had done my research. The PC has three major problems: 1. It comes with a prominent Acer phone number asking the consumer to call them, not the retail store. I called a few days after my purchase and, after the usual round of voicemail prompts and a long time finding some sort of purchase number on the packaging (not the serial number) in order to continue, I got a voicemail. It told me that my service period had lapsed (!) and I was directed t to a fee-based information line outside of Acer. 2. The PC and Windows are packed with intrusive ads. I've been trying to eliminate them, but working in this areas is risky for non-geeks. 3. The entire "Contacts" software is defective. The Search field doesn't work; I had to find a workaround. Once in Search, you can't go directly back to Contacts, or add new contacts. I had to build another workaround. Conclusion: Don't buy another Acer product. read more

This is the worst shopping experience ever. Rude employees are deployed with these massive carts so they can fill 16 orders. These cars occupy better than half an aisle but it doesn't matter when these employees leave them mid aisle while they go hunting and pecking for items to scan and toss into one of the 20 bins housed on these carts. There are so many of these robot shoppers that it is impossible for customers to shop. We chose to leave it is so bad. The employees manning these carts push customers aside so they can fill those bins and go stick them in a cubicle for someone to pick up in 4 hours. This store is beyond hope and mismanaged. While in the produce section, we overheard a woman saying that she was looking forward to shopping when she arrived but after two minutes in this store she was ready to murder everyone in Centreville. I volunteered to do a spend down for my employer and had a budget of 10,000. I stopped by the location at 11181 Lee Hwy, Fairfax, VA 22030 at 5:15pm on 6/14/23, and asked to speak to the store manager as I needed help with getting the items and figured he would be happy to have our business; I was wrong. He provided no other assistance other than advise me to go to the Walmart located on Fair Lakes Parkway, and stated "we are a small store and don't have that much". I expected him to offer to sell me what he had and if needed get items from another store as this would be what customer service looks like. I was wrong. To add injury to insult, looking around, I saw at least 5 employees on their phones and 3 in a huddle engaged in conversation and pointing customers to open self-check registers as though they could not see them. I drove over to the location at 13059 Fair Lakes Parkway and was met by Nina and Rey at the front of the store and explained what I needed. Nina called her Coach, Jytoni (I am misspelling his name), and he jumped right into excellent customer service mode. He rallied staff, helped me shop, assisted at the register with Ahad, and the staff helped me get 12 full carts loaded, all while doing their best to navigate a very busy store. This is a very busy location and I spent 5 hours shopping and watched as each customer was attended to even when things became very busy. I was so impressed with this level of service until I spent an additional $400 after spending nearly $5000. We still have over $4000 we have to spend, and once we review what we have for our clients, we will definitely return to this location to shop more. As a matter of fact, we will make it our business to bypass the store which is literally two blocks from us to travel to where customers are treated well, and provided the attention they deserve. I would like to thank the team at the Fair Lakes Parkway Walmart for making my experience one I will not soon forget because it spoke to the kind of service I provided my customers when I worked in retail. Lastly, I would like to commend the store for being well stocked, clean, and having attentive staff that appreciate the people who shop there. read more

This place is a joke. No customer service you can't ever find a manager on site. They never answer the phone!! I ordered patio cushions and they cancelled half the order bc were not in stock. So I asked if they could check to see if they had two at another store. Nobody knew how?? Waited 30 mins for a manager then she said she needed to get a manager?? I left and called. Finally got a manager who said he could help me cancel the order. I asked for a confirmation number to be sure it was cancelled and he said I'd get an email. 3 days later I got an email saying thanks fir picking up your items!!! It's Walmart. I love how it's so close to my house. This walmart is currently UNDER CONSTRUCTION so there is a bit of confusion on where items are listed.. but during the construction period they have new maps of the new temporary layout. THIS IS BECOMING A SUPER WALMART!! which is great. the cashier told me that there will be a deli and food section, etc. etc. just like every other super walmart. I noticed the other day that they blocked off part of the parking lot. I'm not sure if it's because trucks will be coming or if they plan on building a gas station or something since the parking lot is quite large. I was the fifth person in line at the return counter and I timed it it only took me two and a half minutes to get to the register. I was given store credit because I did not have a gift receipt for the item I was returning. I did my shopping and commented to my daughter about how long the lines were. Dory, in the jewelry department, called me over to ring us up. I felt like I had won the lottery. I tried to immediately my gift card and it wasn't working so I played for the full amount with a credit card. Dori walking over to the return counter where I was told that the system was down and the card probably won't work for another 30 minutes. I'm just going to have to use it next time. If everything had gone off successfully in the store credit gift card, I would have given it 5 stars. read more

The elderly Asian woman working in the beauty department confirmed that the price was not correct and the cashier in a very demeaning and racist way responded to the older Asian woman. I was so upset with how she spoke to her and handled the situation that I left my items and walked out of the store. The two workers that were working at self checkout around 7pm on september 28th were quite honestly racially profiling me while i was scanning my items. I had just started to scan my items when they both started coming up to me every minute to ask me if I had scanned an item and accused me of stealing with the snarkiest attitude before even finishing my transaction. It's disgusting that you let people like this work at retail stores. I worked 3 years in retail and know how to properly treat people with respects I went to the Ulta right after and told the worker about my experience and she said she's also experienced that behavior at this walmart. I've had too many negative experiences at this location to leave it be. Firstly, I understand that the employees are following policy, so I'm not putting any blame on them for this particular instance. My girlfriend (23) whom I (21) live with tried to purchase a bottle of wine tonight, and the self checkout attendee asked to see both of our IDs. I had left my ID at home so we had to drive home, then back to Walmart just for my ID. We've purchased alcohol here before with only one of our IDs being checked, which I guess gave us a false idea of how the store operated. The issue here is the asinine Walmart policy that requires this. Please change this. I know whoever reads these doesn't have that power but I guarantee that they know someone who does or someone who knows someone else who does etc. Virginia has relatively strict liquor laws compared to other states, but not even ABC stores have this kind of rule. They only card the person who is paying. Unrelated to this incident is another that happened a couple of months ago. I was shopping for some items I needed for the house, and out of nowhere and employee comes up to me and my cart while I'm walking through the store and asks if I need any help. I've worked in retail long enough to know that this could mean they think I'm considering shoplifting. It's no big deal at first so I tell him I'm fine and thank you. While I was scanning items at the self checkout, the same thing happens. At this point I'm starting to feel singled out and annoyed. I tell him the same thing I told the other employee. After I finish paying for my items, I walk towards the exit and one of the attendees (not the same guy who asked if I needed help scanning items) shouts for me "sir! sir! checkout?" I raise my receipt and tell him I already paid and go to leave. Once more I am stopped by the greeter who asks to see my receipt, so I show her. She then asks how many items I have. I told her "I don't know, maybe 20? Do you want me to take them all out of the bags and show you?" After a second she just lets me go. I have to say after that trip I felt very profiled and very upset. I gave no reason for anyone to think I may have been shoplifting, and all of the employees who approached me acted under the assumption that I actually was doing so. I know that stores will keep an eye on people they believe to be shoplifters and now whenever I go back to this Walmart I feel like I may be singled out again simple because of how I look. Please fix this, I don't want anyone fired, I don't want any compensation, I just want a better experience at this store, and I'm sure that whomever it concerns wants that too. read more

The lady at customer service was very friendly even when informing me she couldn't do an exchange and couldn't get it onto a gift card. She listened to my concerns and explained when i asked questions (i wish i got her name). The issue was once i got back to the electronics the team lead (i believe his name was Chetan) refused to price match . (only a $5 difference) He told me that i would have to order it online after asking why he couldn't price match since it was from Walmart and not a third party, he told me that "it wasn't available for pickup" which i don't see has ANYTHING to do with price matching for me. My first experience in this walmart was not a very good one. read more
