I have to wonder why this pharmacy exists. My wife was trying to set up her prescription here. On hold for 40 minutes, no answer. Being that other reviews on here mention this as a problem often and I have a hard time believing no one has brought it up with them, I can only assume they either won't answer the phone or their line is broken and they don't care to fix it. So my wife goes to the location. After waiting in a long line (also a common complaint from other reviews) she is told to go to the location by Hollymead. Why? Because it would take too much time for them to do it. In a funny way, between not answering the phone and directing business elsewhere because it might be too much work, I get a kick out of how this location all but comes out and says it doesn't want to be there. The Hollymead CVS is one of at least 3 I know of on 29 between Ruckersville and Barracks Road Shopping Center. Go to one of those. Thank me later. read more

We went there to get our flu shots. Very necessary during COVID times. Very friendly personnel, spacious store with layout. I was surprised to see not great reviews. Went to cvs pharmacies for years. Pharmacy personnel is very knowledgeable and patient. Front lady at the register was really sweet. Got my son some good deals on Christmas presents early. I don't like when too many people crowded in one store location. From early morning hours it was not crowded at all. Stress free shopping and social distancing myself as much as needed. Definitely would be back! read more

The people are nice, but twice it's taken me an hour to pickup a prescription that's already filled. This is the only CVS I've been to that's ever taken this long. Highly recommend changing processes or hiring another person. read more

I would give a lower rating to this place if it was possible. They're always short staffed. Some of the staff are very nice, but they're so overwhelmed and always rushing that sometimes they come across as rude, when they're not. I had to come back twice for the same issue and they wanted to come the third time, after waiting for over 1 5 hours! Also, a few months ago, my wife picked up her prescription and when she arrived at home there was someone else's paperwork with all kinds of PHI attached to it. First, this is a HIPAA violation. Second, it made us wonder if her paperwork didn't end up in someone else's hand. This this the last time we're using CVS! read more

Worst CVS I've ever been to! We just recently moved to the area and so far not one of our prescriptions have been ready on time. I always get the "30 minute wait" response even for prescriptions my doctor called in three days prior. People at the window are rude and don't seem to care. I'm definitely changing all my prescriptions to a different pharmacy from now on! CVS had been my favorite for many years. This place has certainly ruined that! read more

Wow...it took this pharmacy 2 WEEKS to fill my prescription after insurance cleared it the day after my doctor sent it over to them. No calls, no notifications, so I just kept checking their automated help line, and all it kept saying was it was "in process". When I would call over those 2 weeks I could Never get through to a live person until I waiting on hold today for about an hour. Then the lady who answered said it had gotten rejected by my ins. when I told her that no, it was approved the day after it was sent over, and I had emails and MAIL from my ins. to prove that, she kept saying it was rejected. Come to find out, the Pharmacy had sent the claim incorrectly, over and over again, to insurance with the wrong date. And only fixed the issue (without telling me) literally while I was on the phone with my insurance rep. Right after I hung up with CVS. She could see it and told me as it happened. Luckily this wasn't Rx for a life threatening illness (which is why I was being more than patient) I'd probably be dead a week ago. Definitely switching pharmacy's after this.. read more

Pharmacy staff is rude and understaffed. Calls are repeatedly unanswered or dropped. If you check on a prescription that is on automatic refill, will be told it is ready but once you arrive you will be told it is not ready and it will be a 20- 60 minute wait. Month after month this occurs. Do not lose your prescription refill number, you will never get thru on the phone and will have to go inside and wait an hour or more. Once this prescription runs out I will be using a local phramacy. read more

Came in today for my covid booster shot, nurse practitioner recommended that we try to drink water b for injection when we were for flu shot I grabbed a water and some mixed nuts I was told to use the self check out I explained that I do not use them the manager told me I had no choice here. My response was I did not use them so they had jobs and her response was there already there you have no choice incredibly rude to say the least. After my shot I went back up I asked for her name I was told Dawn and she is the GM, I asked for her last name and was pretty much told it was not any of my business, so this is the new CVS away of talking with paying customers. il take my business to Walgreens on 29 and airport road they have always been professional and easy to work with read more

The store is large and has more choices than some of the downtown DC CVS choices. There were even available pharmacy staffers and two employees in the photo department. I like the clearance items! read more

Oh my, unless you love standing in a line multiple times for the same prescription, (then told to leave the inside of the store to wait in the drive-thru line) you should explore alternative pharmacies. There are many other pharmacies, including Walmart across the street, that are managed effectively, that you can patronize. The pharmacist at this location is way over her head, based on the inside lines, the drive-thru lines and the 7 deep phone line for people on hold. When I asked to speak to someone in charge, I was told he was on medical leave, so no one was in charge. Clearly. 1 hour and 20 minutes is too long to wait in the store for prescription Ibuprofen. No reason to stress- go somewhere else. read more

The pharmacy staff are very nice and helpful--5 stars worth (they offer my dog a milk bone every time we go through the pick-up window)--but every time I call to ask a question for the pharmacist (e.g. "I lost my prescription bottle with the RX number so I can refill my medicine...) I'm placed on hold for a MINIMUM of 30 minutes. Usually it's 45 minutes to an hour, which seems awfully ridiculous. Sometimes it takes an hour or two between refiling my birth control and it being ready for pick up...and it's pre-packaged). I know it's a busy store but they need to hire more employees. read more

One star is too much - they were dismissive, rude - twice said they didn't have the prescription but when I said it was faxed they "found" it. Four trips to the store, over two days and still not filled. They don't care about anyone's medical needs. Go ANYWHERE else. read more

My doctor called in 2 prescriptions to them at 11am. I went to CVS to pick them up at 4PM. One was ready and One WAS NOT. Cvs said my insurance would not cover the inhaler the doctor had prescribed. They said they tried to get in touch with my doctor to get a different one approved. My doctor said no one got in touch with them. I sat in CVS for 45 minutes while their pharmacist called my doctor. I left and have moved all my Rx's to Greene Pharmacy in Standardsville (an independent) where I am sure I will get better service. read more

I needed a prescription refill two weeks ago and decided to get it filled at this location. It's somewhat on my way home. Put in an online order for a 5:00 pm pickup at 08:00 am that day. Got there at 6:45 pm only to be told that it would be "another 30 minutes" before it was ready. No biggie. I just said that it wasn't a problem and would drop by the next evening. Almost exactly 24 hours later, I show up to get my meds. The girl behind the counter got this "Oh, this is not going to be fun" look on her face and said "We'll have to expedite this. It will take 30 minutes." So, "it will take 30 minutes" really means "we haven't bothered to do it yet". It wasn't complicated. 30 pills in a bottle. Of course I'm rather annoyed and told them to forget it and that I would get it transferred to another pharmacy. The CVS in Louisa got it right the first time. Not going back to this location. read more

The older cashier lady is probably the RUDEST person I have ever met. Currently waiting for cvs to send me my link for a review of my service at this CVS. I've never in my life seen a cashier at a health store be so rude and just lazy! She got really angry because a product that I was buying wouldn't scan on the computer, making her have to walk all the way over to check the price. She tried typing in the number on the price tag while complaining the whole time that "the numbers are too small and she can't read small numbers." Since we are in quarantine she wasn't supposed to touch any of my stuff I was buying, but when I supposedly wasn't holding the item to her standard she got extremely angry and kept huffing and puffing for me to move it before she finally took it. This is not CVS standard for customer service, as I have worked there before! Someone needs to speak to her about how she treats her customers. read more
