It's been awhile since I updated my review, and the time is now. I try to avoid wally world as much as possible these days, and when I have to go, its tough talking myself into it. Produce sections has really gone south so to speak. Avocados have fingernail gouges, the lettuce is brown, there is barely walking area, don't get me started on the meat section or that they decided to move everything around- which is fine, change it to try to keep shoppers in longer.. but OPEN ALL THE SELF CHECK OUT STANDS OKAY!!!!!!!! ALso, this whole new section for cosmetics and stuff- when I need to buy anything in that section, I also have to pay for it before I can continue on my way to other parts of the store!! and hold on to that precious receipt. Look I get it costs are high everywhere, but this is getting ridiculous and the inventory is lacking and when they are restocking- why are the pallets in the walkways? the aisles, everywhere, its like massive u-turns every where I am heading, I cannot be the only one feeling this way. Also that Sparks delivery check out- that should not be, I have been is this store often enough and not seen any "Sparks". read more

Extremely long line at self-checkout due to volume and the fact that their scanning wands didn't work. The genius monitoring the area wouldn't let anyone use the completely empty lane reserved for their Sparks Delivery Drivers who apparently shop for you and deliver (and put away) your food purchases inside your home. That's a big no thank you... but back to my original point. Even though no driver was using the reserved lane the min-wage sentinel refused to let anyone use it. I love employees with zero autonomy and less common sense. Keep it up Walmart. One sparkless star. read more

Spacious and fully stocked shelves with various items, from household necessities and food groceries, to outdoor planting supplies, this Walmart has almost everything I could think of (I said "almost" was because I wish there's Starbucks inside the store, for a cup of Joe :)) From the completion of the items, the great space flow, and the fast flow of the self checkout line, I would like to give this Walmart 4 stars! However... I would recommend you to remember the price of each item you put into your cart. Better yet, take a photo of the item with the price tag on the shelf. Reason is two out of five items the price showing at the checkout are higher than they shown on the shelf. Good thing is the checkout assistant usually honor the shelf price and overwrite the transaction, as long as you show them photo proves and the manager confirm legit. For this checkout issue alone, my review for this location is 3 stars... because price police is not why customers are there for, and it took additional time and effort from the customer. Really hoping the price information will be soon aligned, and the shopping experience will be improved! read more

This is a good place to shop , you have many choices in what you want to buy.The prices are fare compared to many stores. I find they have more stock than most stores and most of the time you can find an associate. The check out is not available until 11am with a life cashier but, like everyone else I am getting used to scanning and bagging my own things. I am 70 and it gets a little tuff at times I wish they had a senior register for those hours, at least one and handicap people too need the register too. I shop for food not clothes, they look great and reasonable but that's not my reason for shopping there. Try the store you will like it read more

after my most recent experience, I will never use Walmart again. I placed an online order for delivery, which I have been doing for the last eight years. It was supposed to be delivered between 3 PM and 5 PM yesterday. The idiot Uber driver delivered to the wrong address, turned off his chat and didn't answer his phone. I saw that he was driving in the wrong direction, even though I provided specific directions on how to get to my home, he totally ignored them. And then when I tried calling the store directly, nobody picked up the phone. So I chatted with customer service who are based out of Pakistan. Good luck with that. Not only can you not understand what they are saying, but they don't have a clue on how to conduct themselves and deliver customer service. After chatting with six different representatives, I was finally told that I could expect a refund within 10 days and if I wanted my order, I should place it again. I don't think so. And on top of that, I'm still waiting for a refund on the tip that I provided for $6.78. I'll be damned if I'm going to tip someone for not doing their job. Very poor service and I would rather go to the store myself than deal with these idiots. read more

So I purchased an apple gift card from Walmart 7/20/23 spoke to cortney your store manager who told me to call cooperate . When I asked her for the number she sat here and stated she didn't know the number to call 1800 Walmart didn't make any amept in trying to help me solve the matter when your selling the product out of your store .FYI that's Evers store policy if you buy any type of gift card and there's an issue for it to return it to the place you purchased it from then wants to sit here and agate because they couldn't do anything . I ordered a cake for my daughter about a week ago. I was going to pick up the cake at 8am, thank god I checked my email. 7:20am same day of pick up which was in 40 minutes my order was cancelled. I understand emergencies happen but they need to have a back up plan for moments like this! Less than an hour of pick up time and my cake is cancelled and I'm stuck trying to find a birthday cake for my daughter's birthday party which is in 5 hrs!!! The lady on the phone was rude and nasty when I called! I would have been fine with picking it up a little later or something but no options or care given for the customer! They had no one the replace the baker! How about outsourcing to another Walmart or something I would have driven to another Walmart! Idk like I said I understand emergencies happen but at least have a back up plan for those moments or at least have sympathy for the customer who felt bad for the baker and understood, but when rudeness is given I'm going to give it back it's not my fault your baker had an emergency! read more

I had been to this location once. We were hunting for infant formula (due to the shortage), and we found several bottles with no limit as to how many can be purchased at a time. This is the reason I'm giving this store 3 stars instead of 2. The online inventory allowed me to reserve 2 bookshelves even though we did not find them in store. As expected the order was cancelled the next day. The customer service desk was helpful and quick with the items we had to return. Also, self checkout was the only option for purchasing items. Our receipt was still reviewed even though we didn't have any large items. read more

This Walmart is the stereotypical Walmart, when you enter you see some of the nastiest looking people, weirdest people, and see the weirdest things. Also, the store is usually pretty crowded so nothing is ever stocked on the shelfs. Gatorades that are stocked on the shelfs are always damaged. Since the store is usually pretty crowded and only have 1 or 2 registers open to check out it takes forever. Self checkout usually has a long line as well it is irritating when you only have a few things and have to wait 10 minutes to pay and leave. Not the best of places I wouldn't suggest this place to go to. Shop at your local farmers market and other small businesses. This Wal-Mart even has people begging outside for your groceries. read more

This store I visited two times within a week during my stay in the NJ area. The first time was on a a Friday night the parking lot was frighteningly dark. I believe two men were on a pole possibly fixing the issue but in the meantime you could not see in front of your face. My Mom loves it here as they have battery operated scooters so she can shop in the foot ball field they call a Superstore. She found the health and beauty items she needed. But was not happy useing the self service check out that she was forced into useing. She as well as I prefer human beings instead of working at Wal-Mart being a register ringer and bagger for free. Next visit I came for Groceries in early AM being a 24 hour store is a plus. I found what I needed after asking an associate personally for the few items my Mom needed I would look into delivery options instead. I feel zero value to coming here to walk in circles killing time. Nothing grabbed you to buy so no need for impulse purchasing. Also lucky me or not I got to ring up my purchases and bag again. I need to write to their headquarters and find out when and after how many visits will my employee discount kick in or at least a company picnic. Only kidding but seriously who likes this place?! read more

Selection at Walmart has gotten where they only keep the most popular items. If it is not a leading seller in a product line you will need to go elsewhere. They care about satisfying customers, only about the easy money. Take that into consideration the next time you decide where to shop. read more

I laugh now at all the Walmart reviews on only a couple of registers open as I went today with my cart filled to the brim for the fourth of July holiday ( 90% groceries ) and NO REGISTERS OPEN - ONLY SELF CHECK OUT ) Apparently after talking to a couple of employees this has been going on for a few weeks as Walmart is pushing its experiment on their gerbil rodent customers to see if this will take / train them. In looking back during shopping I did see a couple of employees putting products back on shelves from overloaded carts which I thought were those from customer service but according to employees people discovered the Walmart game and walked out leaving the would be purchases. Hey, it's a Walmart. There aren't great expectations here but for me they fulfill the need for basic things. My recent visit was "OK". I went to pick up an oil filter and some OTC pills I needed. I buy my oil filters there because they are cheap. I wanted to get two but like last time I could only find one, and that was on a different shelf than it was supposed to be. I pretty much expect this. The OTC pills were right were they should have been with their "Equate" brand next to the name brand. Almost $2 difference between the two, with exactly the same ingredients. There was some clutter in the aisles but they had a crew attending to it. The shelves are generally neat and when you find help they are usually friendly and accommodating. I've had limited experience in the pharmacy but when I have they've treated me right. Some times it can be frustrating that they don't have what you are looking for but then you need to go to a specialty store; Home Depot, etc. Upon checkout today I greeted the young soporific cashier with a "good morning". Not an utter was returned. She checked my two items out and when she handed me the receipt, (at least she didn't throw it at me.) I thanked her out of habit. That too went unanswered. I suppose no one aspires to become a Walmart cashier but I'm positive the Walmart training sessions include some acknowledgement of the customer, so there's no excuse for a cashier to at least feign a modicum of interest. Will I go back? Of course; the next time I need two items. read more

Sorry. I cannot stand this store. Every time I have gone to Walmart in search of something specific, say a replacement carafe for a coffeemaker - something you would expect a department store the size of a football field to carry, no dice. I suppose if you don't actually *need* something, just enjoy soaking up the Walmart atmosphere, it's just a swell place to hang out, but I can't say I quite care for the "atmosphere" either. The store is packed with feral, shrieking children, and if you are lucky enough to encounter the item you came to purchase, the lines fit the description of a Schwarzschild radius - I swear time stops. The lack of attention and care Howell Walmart pays to its live fish is absolutely deplorable. Each and every tank has multiple dead fish not to mention one tank containing a single chicilid and 7-10 dead fish floating at the top of the tank clogging the filter!!!! The algae build up on most of the tank fronts is shameful and not to mention the cloudy water. If Walmart is not equipped to care for these animals they should not carry them. read more

Worst Walmart store I've ever experienced. All staff completely uncooperative. It's like it's ran by children running around loose. I made a mobile order for an item which was shown to be in stock, and was CONFIRMED by staff in the store to be in stock. Once I made the order and got a text it was ready, I went in, for them to have trouble even finding my order, and then 30 mins later telling me that it needed to ship. On the day it would APPARENTLY be ready I called Walmart multiple different times and days, to which I was left on hold for more than an hour each. So I ended up calling customer service for them to tell me there's an issue with the carrier and I'd have to wait a month? Nope. Refunded. I won't be going in that store for anything not even a package of meatballs because they might suddenly lose them on my way to purchasing them. read more

I came here with a friend late on a Sunday night to check out some new makeup. We spent about 20 minutes total browsing our options. I opened a few unpackaged lipsticks to check if they were used or not, because apparently people like to apply lipstick without buying it, or just smash them against the wall since that's what most of them looked like. I opened maybe 5, just to check the quality and color. Then I closed them and put them back. After this, a woman stormed over. She raised her voice and said " EXCUSE ME, we DONT open the products" then marched away. I didn't even get a chance to politely say sorry or even say "excuse me they all look like they've all been licked and crushed." I got pretty mad but kept looking at the makeup. I started noticing numerous employees hovering over me. Women were walking over and pretending to do something a few feet away from me but they just kept watching me. Twice I saw a different employee walk over, look at my friend and I, then turn around and walk back to where she came from. Looked like she was reporting back to someone. I don't know if they want you to just buy disgusting products and deal with it later but I'm gonna open the unpackaged lipstick to make sure I'm not purchasing something that a Wal-Mart customer had on their mouth. After feeling so disgusted and unwelcome by all the nasty women in the beauty section, we made our way to the candles. We were followed there too. I was so pissed off at this point that I just wanted to throw everything on the floor and step on all of the lipstick then leave. I quickly gathered everything I had to purchase and left. I can't believe the people here don't know better. I worked retail for 5 years and they're doing it all wrong. Worst customer service I have ever received, anywhere. I'm never shopping here again. I will take my business to the target across the street, where I'm sure the employees have better things to do than make their customers feel uncomfortable enough to leave. read more

My issue is mainly the check out register area. I used to live at the shore until about a year ago and moved to Howell. Before I shopped at the Brick NJ store which has a different set up with multiple express lane check outs right at the grocery end and more at the other end of the store with regular check out and self check out in the middle with usually plenty of registers open - less waiting on line. The Howell NJ store has self check out flanked at the grocery end and only express at the other end of the store with regular registers in the middle and a few registers open with obviously less customer service for time wasted / waiting on line consideration. As for the self service registers, ITS PUTTING PEOPLE OUT OF WORK. Walmart isnt making a profit ? They arent giving the stuff away are they ? Even the dollar store has people working at the register. Wake up customers ! Self service registers are training the hamsters / customers to do the work. I dont ever use them anywhere. read more

I just visited this store this afternoon. It is EXTREMELY crowded. We are in a pandemic and everyone was literally standing on top of each other. No one was following the 6 feet distant markers on the ground. Not only this but there was food laying around in different aisles to spoil. Food laying on the floor to go bad. This Walmart is much better then the one in brick. Yes. I travel from brick to Howell and sometimes Neptune to go to these stores as they hold much more of a selection then brick. When it comes to bathrooms Neptune is a 5 star however Howell and brick need to work on that. Other wise, no complaints here!!! Especially during Christmas time read more

Horrible experience!!! Stay away from this place. I was there today to buy some jewelry for my wife. There was nobody working at the jewelry counter. I asked an employee to page somebody for customer assistance, and she did. The same girl came by again 1/2 hour later, and asked if anybody helped me yet. I said "not yet" , so she paged them again. I waited another 20 minutes, and another employee came by. I asked them to page somebody to come to the jewelry counter, so he paged them. I waited another 1/2 hour, and still nobody came. During the whole Tim that I was waiting at the jewelry counter knowing exactly which expensive piece I wanted to by, I was appalled at the total lack of social distancing, and people wearing their masks around their chins. I was literally being bumped into by people with total disregard for virus preventing rules. After standing, and waiting at the jewelry counter for about an hour and a half, I just left the store disgusted. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! The store totally ignored a definite $158 sale. Worse than that, THE STORE Is A VIRUS FACTORY.. I ended up buying from Amazon... You should too!!! read more

So I was in the mood for some delicious baked potatoes. So since Walmart is so close to me and open 24/7, it seemed like a great idea. I head in and i buy myself TWO bags of potatoes. Because I was anticipating 3 weeks worth of making some delicious baked potatoes. I bought them, headed home, and put them away for the next day. NEXT DAY: I'm hungry and ready for some baked potatoes. But wait.. somethings wrong. The bags of potatoes smell moldy, and they're a bit wet. My dreams have shattered. 3 weeks of potatoes are gone. No signs of leaks or wet areas in my pantry. But, it's fine, i'll just head to Walmart and tell them what happened, surely they'll help me out. LOL. NO. THEY WONT. I go to customer service and tell the manager what happened, she said there's nothing she can do without the receipt. Seriously, who keeps a receipt for potatoes? Who would think something would go wrong? Apparently I must have bought them in a hurry, blinded by excitement, didn't notice that they were probably sitting in a puddle of water/cleaning fluid in the bottom of the bin. Now, I sit here potato-less. I'll never forgive you, Walmart. I'll be getting my *dry* potatoes from shoprite for now on. read more

So yeah I know why Howell Walmart is busy on a Sunday night. I've lived here forever. Only 2 registers open oh and the self checkout as well. There were so many people waiting online to pay. I'd like to know why there are so many registers at the store and only 2 of them are being used on a Sunday night or any other time. I feel bad for anyone that was desperate to buy something there last night. I just wanted some oil and filters, didn't buy anything though. I know, put the people that work there on the registers when it gets out of hand and there is an extreme wait just to pay. Is there no one there that works in a managerial position? Excellent place for deals. They are in the process of expanding to become a Super Walmart. I have been shopping there for 13 years and the prices are great, the store is clean and the staff is very helpful. You do have the usual Walmartians that seem to inhabit WalMarts everywhere. It does attract a certain sort but thats what makes the world go round. The ease of shopping and variety of products from food to greeting cards really makes it almost a one stop shop. read more
