It is interesting to revisit a place of prior employment, especially when it is one as debatable as Walmart. That said, a first is a first. I started working here when I was 16 or 17. Flexible hours (not to mention being able to transfer locations) helped me pay the bills while in college. I transferred to a location in Durango, CO while I was performing with the Durango Shakespeare Festival, transferred back to Jefferson City, TN to finish my first two years and finally transferred to a Memphis, TN location while finishing undergrad. People will always be different from store to store but what is something that should remain consistent for a company across all the storefronts within the brand? The answer is standards and expectations. I visited the Jefferson City location about a month ago and while it may have been due to holiday traffic, lack of staff due to a Covid spike or some other unknown the standards were concerning as the condition of the store left much to be desired as did waiting over 20 minutes to check out. My next visit on 1/29/22 showed a notable improvement in visual merchandizing, faster checkouts and a more readily engaged floor staff. It reminded me of how it was when I once worked here which is a good thing. Say what you will about Walmart but for some "lifers" like Sheila and my Mother (of 25+ years) it is their job and it makes me happy to see them and many others still enjoying the work place and helping improve the customer experience. A final note, I used to answer the phone here sometimes (yes, the phone was answered by a real person every time) and I would say "Walmart store 724 open 24-7 this is Nick. How can I help you?" Being open 24 hours is a lot but a real human being answering the phone every time is something people would notice as special. Maybe we will see these days return. Go store 724! read more

I am not a fan of Walmarts, but they can have items one needs. Mainly because they are so generic to me. And the entire place is unwelcoming, I'd truly rather go into a ma and pop store with character, charm, and people who's livelihood is there. I grew up in a small hamlet that only chain was a shell gas station, we drove 24 miles to a larger town, to see larger stores. Haha... sounds like the old stories of walking miles in the snow to go to school... Well, I love those stories...not a fan of Walmart! I had my recently purchased car serviced at the Jefferson City Tennessee Walmart Auto Center for an oil change. The workers were slow trying to figure out how to do the oil change. I saw them struggling to find the correct tools to replace my oil filter. I was assured that everything was done even though the workers forgot to do my tires rotation. Less than a week later on my way home from a VA clinic appointment in Sevierville Tennessee I have car issues going home. I was traveling on I40 to return to my home, and at my exit my car began to sputter. The check engine light came on, and I had to drive on the shoulder to get off the highway. I then got a low tire pressure light warning on my way off the exit. I pulled into Rusty Wallace Ford in Dandridge Tennessee, and see I have a flat tire and oil leaking from under my car. Rusty Wallace Dandridge recommends that I have the car towed to the dealership I bought it from which is Rusty Wallace Knoxville Hyundai. I had my car towed to the dealership at a cost of $228.80. and had a repair bill of $275.63. I had travel to get my car, and was out a vehicle for two and half days. I ask Walmart for compensation for all my cost and reimbursement of my Walmart oil change. Their response was a check for $47.68. On 09/08/24, I went to Walmart to purchase a can of paint and needed it blended to a specific color. I waited over 30 minutes before Andrew was directed to the paint department to help me. He was wonderful and I give him 5 stars, but as for Zak of the electronics department, I give a negative 10 out of 10 stars. Initially, I had asked Zak if anyone was working the paint dept and he said he'd page someone for me. I never heard the page, but here's the kicker... As Andrew was helping me, Zak comes over and has a conversation with Andrew and asks him if he was on break or helping someone. I felt invisible. How could he have the audacity to say something like after interacting with me? His first remark should've have been, "Oh you finally got some help! That's great!", and then had his peer to peer conversation with Andrew. I even audibly made the remark, "Oh, I'm invisible" and Zak never acknowledged me. To say that I felt disrespected is an understatement... On the contrary, Zak gets 5 stars and the the little blonde lady (didn't catch her name tag) gets 5 stars for trying to help today. read more

Shelves empty, employees seem under paid and over worked. I'm pretty sure I tried calling on multiple occasions and nobody ever answered. I don't believe it's the fault of the staff. I think they just need more people working at once read more

Self checkout is good if you have 10 items or less, but when you are grocery shopping and have a full buggy of items it's really annoying ! About quit shopping at Walmart because of the self checkouts, there's other stores that will checkout and bag for you . When I go shopping, I sure don't want to have to do their job too. Walmart used to be such a good store, but now it's not worth sho there. read more

Jefferson City Walmart is always clean. But 90% of the time one of the urinals in men's bathroom in front is broken. And a bag is covering it with a "Do not use" sign on it. The restroom has a slight smell to it also. Do not know why it looks clean. Staff is friendly and helpful they are not judge mental. I bought a DVD player and took it back two days later since it was not compatible with my TV. No questions asked. And cash was handed back. Is a small aisle only grocery side of the store at this Walmart but larger aisle at home stuff size this is the medium size Walmart. This Walmart sell less stuff. I rather shop at another Walmart in Knoxville, Tennessee on 8445 Walbrook Dr Knoxville, TN 37923 there's some more stuff there but this Jefferson city Walmart store sell less stuff and it's hard to find your favorite food or favorite stuff at this location I would take this Walmart and I take a 3 stars review. read more

I just left the JC Walmart Groceries w/ my spouse. I want to register a customer service complaint on the clerk that rang up our groceries on Aisle #8. She was rude and disrespectful to both my wife and I. Of All the times we have shopped at this WM we have never been treated so inappropriately by staff. She claimed she could not bag our groceries because she had hurt her wrist. She refused to continue checking us out unless we hurried up & put our articles in the cart. I have mixed feeling about this walmart. I've had several issues with staff. I've had to talk to the manager several times about issues I've had, which ultimately were not resolved. The only reason I shop here is because it's close to where I live. read more

Wife and I will not purchase food from here. We have seen cockroaches in the food area on the floor and products. Some staff is friendly but most are rude and unhelpful. Less items are stocked at this store allegedly due to their small size. read more

Well it's a Walmart. However, this one is small. If I could give negative stars, I would. If you are African-American and seeking hair care product, don't waste your time here. You'll be highly disappointed. The section is so small, it might as well not even be there. They don't even carry Pantene for Black Hair which almost every Walmart that I've been to carries. Your better off making the drive to Morristown. It's larger and has a bigger selection of EVERYTHING! read more
