I'm a Walmart shopper, every time I go to Walmart I always go in for one thing and end up coming out with more, Walmart is always my go to. The store itself isn't the issue, I ordered a blanket online for my daughter.. online it said there were 5 available at this store and I could get it same day, I had also ordered a mattress and set pick up date for when that arrived so I could get both together. Long story short, the mattress got there and every day up until a week later I was getting emails stating that my pick date was getting moved to the next day until blanket was available... After a week I get an email stating that my return was being processed for blanket.. I still need this blanket to complete the sheet set that I bought from here... RIDICULOUS... read more

If I could give it a negative star I would... Wow where do I begin, customer service..... yes I said CUSTOMER SERVICE. They obviously don't know the meaning of their job title or the job description!!! Helping customers should be top priority! Instead the gentlemen I dealt with from the Customer service department by the name of Andrew was confrontational, rude, and disrespectful. Not helpful at all!! Then I waited 20 min for a manager. It was like if they were ghosts. Non existent almost... none of the employees even knew who was management and who wasn't. After all that the self checkout cashier closes the register as I walk up to it, and doesn't apologize just tells me to go to register 4 that had a massive line. Mind u I just waited 10 minutes on the self checkout line. I can't tell u how disappointed I was in this Walmart. It has gone down hill in the past few years. I do want to give kudos to a Spanish cashier rep, her name was Elizabeth she should get a promotion to the customer service department!! She was very nice and even apologized for any inconvenience I had encountered. I wasn't even satisfied with the manager I did speak to. Absolute trash. They allow tractor trailers, dump trucks, etc. to park all over the entranceways and exits to the premises, creating a single lane for heavy two way traffic. Wait time for a register or any kind of service is ridiculously long. read more

Very long wait lines at the cash registers and the staff just doesn't seem to care at all.

Crazy long lines last night and after waiting for almost 30 minutes, the cashier tells me the person in front of me is the last one she'll take. Then I ask her if I have to go back to the end of the other line next to me and she starts yelling "if I take you, I'll have to take everyone else behind you!". I told her that was not my question, that I wasn't asking her to take me. Then she said "I don't know then, good night!". Avoid this store at all costs. Employees all look a little slow, bewildered, and have no idea what they're doing (not that I expect a high IQ from someone who works at Walmart anyway). Management seems to be non-existent. I left my cart and went to Shop Rite in Jersey City where I had no problems. I was actually able to find better deals there. Never again. read more

Worst. Walmart. Ever. Twice I have left this store missing items that I had paid for due to the compete negligence of the incompetent cashiers. Tried to call to let staff know that the cashier didn't give me an item that I paid for, only to have the phone ring and never be picked up for over 3 minutes. Then, when asking about my order which was already delivered, they give me excuses on why they can't go to the back to get it. The girl tells me to come back in an hr. I will start off by saying that I haven't actually even been into this store, and after my encounter tonight, I never well. I live about 5 or so miles from 4 different Walmart locations, but I came to this one tonight since both Google and the Walmart website itself, said that it is open 24 hours. I purposely did some other errands first that were less important, but I figured I could do Walmart last since it's open 24 hours. I work late all week, and I try to avoid as many crowds as possible on the weekends, so I was thrilled to see - or so I thought - that this was one of the Walmart locations in New Jersey that remained 24 hours after the company decided to do away with that a few months ago for some locations. So at about 1215 AM I drove the 15 minutes it takes to get there, and as soon as I pull into the parking lot, I see people leaving and it looks dark, as though it's closing. Before I left to come, I googled Walmart in Kearny and Google had it listed as 24 hours; and since it looked like everyone was leaving, I checked Walmart's actual website while sitting in my parked car and that also said 24 hours. So with this confirmed, I started walking to the entrance, only to be startled by some obnoxious asshole employee standing out in front looking pissed off that he had to be there and pissed off that I dared to come at this hour. He bellows out, "We're CLOOOSED!!!" In such a manner that I instantly was taken aback and felt angry. It's one thing that the information on the website and on Google is incorrect, but then after inconveniencing myself because of the wrong information, to be shouted at when I am coming to spend my money in a place of business was really unnecessary. I sat in my car trying to see if there were any other 24 hour stores around, and I heard him do the same thing to about 4 more people who came to the store at that time, and every time it startled me and I would look up and I'd see the people all have the same startled reaction. I know it comes across as nitpicky in this review, but seriously he was so obnoxious and unprofessional and nobody wants to be spoken to like that when they are coming to patronize a business. I especially don't want to be spoken to like that when the only reason I came to that location was because of incorrect information I got on their own website. With three other locations all about the same distance from where I live, I will not be returning to this location, and Walmart can credit that obnoxious unprofessional employee for my bad experience and reason I won't return, before I even got to the door of the store. I live across the street from from a Targert that is also open till 12. The prices may be a little bit higher than Walmart, but sometimes Walmart is just not worth the hassle. However, when I do have a chance and some extra time I do like to go there for the great prices, but I definitely know that Kearny is one location I'll never see the inside of simply due to the bad taste in my mouth this asshole left. read more

I'm not a huge fan of Wal-Marts but this is probably my favorite. I think it's pretty organized compared to some of the others I have been in. Also it is 24 hours and they have a Redbox so that's always a plus. read more

Worst walmart I have ever been too!! I bought a value car battery which was dead. I gave them my old battery to get back the 12.00 plus tax core charge on the initial purchase but when I returned the dead car battery after only two starts and less than 3 weeks later, these walmart said i had to pay 12.40 for a new battery since I do not have a old battery to avoid their core charge. Well I told the customer service rep that I gave you my old battery when I made the initial purchase and I can't supply another old battery. I only want an even exhange since this battery was tested my mechanic and was dead and walmart also tested it and declared it dead and no good. So why do I have to pay 12.40. I told the customer rep that if I give you the 12.40 for this battery for my car and I hook it up and its dead and return it even the same day, then I would have to pay 12.40 to exchange it. What kind of policy is this!!! I have complained to corporate headquarters and will continue to warn as many as customers as possible to avoid walmart. There policies are horrible!! I spoke to over 20 people all ready about my experience with the KEARNY NJ location walmart and not one person thought this was handled properly by the kearny nj walmart. They have lost me for life as a customer. I will instead go to costco where their customer service is top notch. No more walmart for me. More than one bad experience here and I will not tolerate these crazy policies which make no sense at all!!! read more

This place is so ghetto. Every time I go there, this store has the worst customer service. Any time during the day, I usually wait about 25 minutes on line, that is ridiculous. The people that go there, shove you or push you and they never say excuse me or apologize. The only good thing, the clothes for children are reasonable. The service here is horrible. I went to buy a game i preordered and waited 20 minutes just for the employees to show up. After searching for the employee with the keys I then waited another 30 minutes for them to find the game. A supervisor walked past and didn't even try assisting us. She looked completely disinterested in providing any form of customer service. And to top it all off I was informed that the game was locked away in the back and they couldn't get to it. The worst Walmart I have ever been to. It is the same setup as any other Walmart, has all the same items and sub stores but this particular one is incredibly crowded, the associates are never helpful and can often be heard complaining, insanely long checkout lines and no organization anywhere. My most recent visit simply included me appearing there to pick up my Walmart.com to store pick and I was there for over two hours which was on the short end to what others were saying. It should be simple to receive a shipment, organize it so then when the owners arrives to pick it just go in the back and come out with it, which was experience with this previously at another site. But that was not the case here at all. I showed up to revive my item and after waiting in line for over an hour I finally reached the counter. The associate looked at my order, entered it into their system then wrote my name on a piece of paper with the item number and told me to wait till they called my name where I waited for over another hour. From what I saw they would hand off the paper to another Walmart employee who would then attempt to go find the item in what I heard was one a several trucks they had over outside on the other side of the store, why they weren't closer or the items previously unloaded into the storage room right there I have no idea. There were several people who were told their items couldn't be found and were refunded though that defeats the purpose of ordering online and should have been helped further or had them re-order the item. They had no organization, the associates were talking about when they were going on break while we all just sat there waiting on them to help us. I have never seen such disorganization and disregard from a retail store let alone the largest in the country. Not only am I turned off from this particular center but I will never use Walmart.com to store pickup again. read more

When you return an item without a receipt, you have the option of receiving a cash refund (for purchases under $25), a Gift Card for the amount of the purchase (for purchases over $25) or making an even exchange for the product. Didn't give up on my Right went home find the Gift Receipt ,I was standing at the Customer Service 15 Minutes before the Official Closing time of the Customer service Desk , The same Guy as soon I asked him He told me we Just closed !! I asked him what time you close he replied 10 PM so its 9:45 pm ? I placed an order on Walmart.com last week for an outdoor dining set (1 table with 6 chairs). I received an email on Saturday that one of the boxes has arrived at the store for pickup. I went to the store on Monday and the customer service lady tells me that my package is not there. I told her that I received an email and she said sometimes they send emails and they are not correct. That was a red flag. So now on Friday (just four days later) I get an email that my order was cancelled. I called the customer service line and I explain to the guy that my ordered was cancelled with no reason. He looks up my account and says I have no idea why they cancelled it, pure silence..... So I ask him, well I received an email that it was shipped so at what point was it cancelled. He said that it arrived at the store at Kearny and that it was the store that returned it, again silence. So I ask him, could it have arrived at the store broken, please give me some feed back as to why they would return the order. Get ready for this one... he said maybe it got lost in shipment. So it got lost from the Walmart ware house to the Walmart store, he said possibly. He told me to call the store myself, but he doesn't think that they'll be able to help me. And boy was her correct. I called the store and the lady that picked up (which she sounded extremely miserable) said that she couldn't tell me why they cancelled my order but maybe it expired(meaning I didn't pick it up on time). I told her, I placed the order last week, I came into the store on Monday there was no way my order was expired. She caught an attitude and told me that I would have to come into the store. FOR WHAT. waste a trip to the store to not get any answers. Do yourself a favor and do not order from them. At no point did she even ask for my order # to check her system. I love this place for the convenience factor. Since they expanded a while ago, they have a lot more items. I barely go to the regular grocery store now. I get all of my groceries from this Walmart. I also love that it is a 24-hour location. This is a terribly run store! I was in this location earlier tonight, and they seriously need someone to come in and teach them how to manage. It was about 9 PM, all the outline registers had no cash (electronics, jewelry, photo, etc). That is TOO EARLY to pull the cash from the drawers, so now the crowds of people all have to flock to the front end, which doesn't have nearly enough lanes open! All of the 20 items or less express lanes were closed. The lines were stretching past apparel, and they had a cashier, who could have been operating a register, standing there supposedly directing the lines but actually not doing anything. You have to adjust for retail but this store clearly didn't get the memo. There are a lot of ways that you can adjust to take some of the strain off the front end. I got frustrated and put all my items down and left. As I walked to my car, I see about four or five managers outside chillin where the bikes are!! Are you kidding me?! Do you not see that zoo of a store?! Get inside and run your store! Get more lanes open! Do your damn job!!! I will NEVER visit this location EVER AGAIN, and I would advise you to never come here either! This Walmart makes Valley Stream (Green Acres) look like a perfect paradise and that's really sad!!! read more

I placed an order online yesterday with Walmart.com and choose to pick it up in the store near me. I just received a confirmation email from Walmart that I'm not able to pick up my product until 9/25. Why? The store confirmed that the product is available in the store but they can't give me the product until 9/25. Why? I contacted Walmart.com and spoke with Chuck the supervisor. He said that Walmart.com and Walmart isn't the same store and they have different warehouses. How would I know that as your customer? Does it make sense that Walmart already charged my credit card and the product is available in the store but I'm not allow to pick it up? Chuck was very rude, unprofessional and started to raise his voice at me when I confronted him about how inconvenience to shop online with Walmart.com. I can't cancel my order and I also can't go pick it up until 9/25. I also found out that I will have the option for same day pick up if I choose another location. Ordered a single item online and although I arrived early on a quiet weekday morning it took like 2-1/2 hours of standing on line, waiting, and waiting some more before I got my package and was able to pay and leave. Other customers told me they had been there over 3 hours and still didn't have their packages. Very chaotic. Never again! read more

This is the worst wal-mart in the world. over-crowded, under stocked. They do not re-stock items they normally have for weeks, which turns off a lot of people. The beverage aisle's are hands down the worst, always empty shelves. The milk fridge is DISGUSTING and covered with splattered and spilled milk. They never clean it. If I ever need to go there just to get 1 or 2 items, I have to wait on line for over 45 minutes because they have only 2 or 3 registers open at any given time. And why is the self checkout always closed? they let people use the self checkout for HUGE checkouts. Like imagine 2 or 3 carts worth of stuff being checked out by someone who has no idea what they are doing...there should be a limit on those aisles. Meanwhile the person "overseeing" the self checkout stands there like its no big deal. The staff and customers here are always rude, pushing and shoving and just getting in everyone's way. I even tried to return something once during the holidays and they told me i could not! I grabbed a manager and he personally returned the item for me because their own employee did not know the return policy! Get your act together! I asked if they were hiring and they said NO! If anything, they need to re-hire the entire staff. This place is awful, and make sure you park close to the store or your car might get stolen or broken into. Has happened to many people I know.
