This particular Shoprite also has a liquor store, which isn't massive but it has your usual wines, spirits, and beers. Not a big selection, though. One good thing about this Shoprite is that they carry Calandra's bakery bread which can be hard to find. Produce here isn't all the freshest, and small supply of organic produce and meats. Lines can be huge at peak times, so best to use the self-checkout if you can. One bonus though is this Shoprite opens an hour earlier than most at 6am. This Shoprite tends to run out of products quick and are slow to re-stock so plan accordingly if you are looking for a specific item.

I wish i could give no stars to this shit hole. Do yourself a favor and stay the F away from here. It is such a mess from trying to find knowledgeable employees that give a dam about their job to waiting in line for over 1 hour just to check out. I kid you not. They never have enough registers open no matter what day or time you come to shop. The employees are down right rude and ghetto. You can find people with better people skills standing on a corner with a cup in their hand asking for change. The Site to Store is the biggest joke in that hell hole. After receiving not 1 but 2 emails stating my items were ready for pick up i wait in line 30 minutes and am told i have to receive 3 emails before its ready for pick up. Thats the stupidest thing i ever heard but then we are talking about a place that has no organization, rude employees and a joke for management. Hey and hold on to your receipt because before you can exit your cart is searched and your receipt looked over by a rent a cop. You leave here feeling like a common thief. read more

If they didn't carry pretty much anything you would need, I would give them zero stars. The parking lot is always cluttered with carts, the store is never organized and the checkout process is pure insanity. Be prepared for someone to check your receipt at the door, which adds another 1-2 minutes to your time in the store. The Kearny Police are constantly at the store which means either the security team is really good, or the store is a magnet for criminal activity. There was even a police shooting in the parking lot after a shoplifter attempted to run over a Police Officer. If you want to keep your sanity, order online or head to the Target in Clifton. This store is pure disaster and I the only reason Walmart Management allows their store to operate like this is because of the sales volume the store has. read more

This location is so disappointing, from their online shopping never having anything you need, to their poor customer service when you get there. I came in needing a wheelchair and the greeter at the door was like sorry it's on the other side, he is clearly looking at me struggling and walking with a cane you would think he would offer to have someone bring it over. I manage go over there only to find out that none of them are working and the way it was said was none of those are working like it was normal for them to be like that. I found that rude as I was unable to go food shopping in the store thinking it would have been better than their online service, but it wasn't it was just as bad. but I received the worse from the young greeters that's the crazy part. read more

Don't waste your time going here. Seriously, order online, find a different store, do anything else. This store is always extremely crowded, and I'm not sure why. Usually there are only two to three checkout lanes open with massive lines. You have people that do their grocery shopping here. Entire carts full of food and barely any lanes for anyone to use. I asked an employee for help and he had no idea where anything was, but he'd ask another employee who did. I swear he just brought his friend over who worked there to check me out, because they still couldn't help me! Will never be going back to this store. read more

Like many, I award one star as zero is not an option. I ordered an item with promised delivery of Wed. When I was told Wed it would not arrive, I cancelled the order. (and drove all over 6 towns to find the item in time) Somehow it was delivered Saturday and marked as 'Delivered from Store". Now being told my only option is to drive another hour to return the item. They can deliver items, but can't pick them up when they screw up? I have been told this is going to be escalated so this doesn't happen to others. I wouldn't put money on that! read more

The main reason I am visiting this location is because of the plenty of the fruit to choose from and alays fresh. The prices are affordable. Compared to other location in that area of the town, the fruits here are even cheap. But buying cheap and fresh comes with a price - one need to wait too long on the lines for check out. This time it took me about 20 min. That is an unneeded waste of time! Please, open more lines! The customer service is not great either. I visited this store on Friday 10/28 and decided to use self-checkout. The whole store is a mess but the front end certainly has to be organized and managed better. A red-headed lady working at the self-checkout, Veronica, was extremely rude and got bothered every time a customer asked for assistance. Costco has everything you could possibly want and need. I know that they tend to change things…read morearound, and I got used to the self service being in a different place, but I think that they run the lines smoothly, especially when they are long. I have always found the sales people there to be helpful. I have never had to use the gas station or the AR but the fact that they are right there and air is free. The store is immaculate and so are the restrooms. The variety and selection of meats and produce is exceptional and their bakery has never let me down once. One product I am going to talk about and anybody who buys it will probably agree with me because I know a lot of people who do they have the absolute best paper towels, Kirkland paper towels, better than bounty or any other brand ,you can reuse them. They don't fall apart and they last a really really long time. Not so much for their toilet paper that's one disappointment but I am always finding new products to try and I have my staples there that I go for on a regular basis. Can't find anything wrong with this store. I don't even mind paying the annual membership. It is well worth it. I end up getting certificates for Credit that I use and that makes up for it. Costco is one of the best stores that ever came to Bayonne and of course you can't beat the prices.

Cons - People selling different items and occasional membership upgrades through the store. I already pay for a membership, I don't want to be harassed! - They move things around and since their app doesn't show what aisle an item is, it's hard to find a product I buy on a regular basis. I believe they do this intentionally to force us to walk around the whole store. They probably have one of those managers that come up with "non-sense" ideas every day.

Walked over to produce and samples were being served of tasty butternut squash risotto! It was so delicious, that i ended up purchasing a bag. Goes great with fish, poultry, vegetables, or a stand alone meal. Of course I needed to stock up on my stash of pumpkin seeds, trail mix, and other nuts that I love to snack on at home or while on the go. Check out was interesting, so used to being directed as to which check out register to head over to. This location customers can pick any checkout counter they wish. All of the store personnel are friendly, everything is stocked nicely, and organized. Definitely would visit again. The atmosphere is great!
