Seabra Foods is one of our favorite supermarkets during COVID-19 since it was not crowded at all even on weekends. The decor and layout was wide-spaced, bright and clean. It was easy to keep social distance between people. Their product lineup is clear, organized and easy to shop with a great variety of options. There were also European bakery and prepared food bar. We love their egg tarts and tiramisu so much. The egg tarts were served warm and it was super delicious. However, the prepared food didn't look so fresh so we didn't try. read more

They're disrespectful. I was sitting down when one of the male workers--the only one nearby--flicked a toothpick at me. I stood up and asked him why he did it. He just stood there looking stupid and said, "Oh, did it fall?" Then he looked at me from between the refrigerators where he was standing. Of course, I looked back. He walked away, but he must have said something to security because he later came back around, giving me an evil look. So I gave him exactly what he seemed to want--an eye-to-eye showdown. That place is ridiculous. Where do they get these workers? They have absolutely no manners, and apparently, there are no consequences when they behave badly. Don't bother complaining, because they all back each other up, and the company doesn't seem to care. They've gotten so big that they act like they're too important to be bothered with their customers' complaints. read more

Beware of their produce. I questioned a package of corn on the cob that looked like it was in rotting stages and questioned the price ($10) Manager saw nothing wrong with it and put it back on the table with other packaged produce that was marked down. read more

This Seabras location is good for prepared foods...not so much on the produce. Compared to other Seabras locations this one is pricier on the fresh fruit and veggies. It's also a smaller location but really seems to have everything you need. It's a great little supermarket for anyone who lives near the Path because it's literally within walking distance. I probably wouldn't come out of the way for it to do my every week shopping but if I was in the area and wanted to grab some lunch I would stop in. They have fantastic sandwiches and awesome homemade Portuguese options. Soup and salads too. They have a big parking lot too and the store itself is nice and clean. Seabra is a local supermarket, featuring primarily Portuguese products. They also have quite a few Asian, Peruvian and Ecuadorian products. I love to go there and venture through the aisle to see what treasure I find. Since the start of the pandemic, they have tried to keep the shelves stocked, and they've done as best as any other supermarket. Toilet paper and paper towels have made it in, but sold out within minutes, even with 'one per customer' limits. read more

I tried to not to give one star review to business unless they were very rude and didn't offer the products match to their price. I Will NEVER ever go bk for grocery shopping at Seabra though. The cashier's attitude was like you are not welcome here, why you shop here. I just questioned abt the price coz I read the wrong sign, then her attitude was like you are wrong I am the boss here, I'm gonna tell you what you gonna do. Didn't your boss, your mother,or your kindergarten teacher taught you if people being polite to you, you shouldn't being rude to them? Chat with you coworker is fine, but when your customer come to check our, maybe you should spare 30 sec to be professional, is it that difficult to you? Seabra Foods has opened another location in Harrison on Bergen Ave. It's taken over the building where that abandoned tire/auto place had been for years. From the outside, the grocery storefront really catches your eye with its green logo and large windows. Seabra has also redone the parking lot, outlining the parking spaces and marking driving direction arrows on the asphalt. I picked up a few items this morning. I was on my way to Shoprite, but saw that Seabra was open and figured I'd check it out. The grocery just opened recently (there's a 'Grand Opening' sign up above the entrance's automatic doors). Inside, it feels open and spacious, bright and clean. The aisles are well stocked and the produce is fresh. Like the other Seabra groceries, there is a wide selection of international items - from Portugal, Peru, Asia, etc. - at good prices. Some items sold at Seabra are unavailable in Shoprite, so this is great! The bakery is really good, too. I'm glad to know that I can easily pick up fresh sweet bread and Portuguese rolls here. There's also a cafe area where you can sit down and eat (there's a deli area with lots of tasty looking items). This Seabra is in a great location and is a wonderful addition to this shopping plaza and part of town. read more

I love exploring new grocery stores. So after leaving the Elite event at Juicy! Halal, I saw this supermarket I'd never heard of before right across the street and decided I had to go in to check it out. They have both standard items as well as Portuguese/Brazilian things. The olive oil selection is quite distinctive, given that most American supermarkets carry primarily olive oil from Italy or Spain; they feature many different brands from Portugal. In the bakery/deli they have traditional pastries such as pasteis de nata as well as ready-to-eat entrees like feijoada. There's a nice sausage section with Portuguese-style chouriço as well as several styles of chorizo. As for more general items, the produce is good quality and inexpensive, and they have an extensive selection of prime beef, often at prices significantly lower than other places. read more

I came in the store to purchase ground beef. I noticed the majority of meat were EXPIRED. I went up to the meat counter, to find out if there was any fresh ground beef in the back. I was completely ignored at first. When I finally got someones attention, a worker at the meat counter gave me attitude, and pointed at the EXPIRED ground beef. I told him those are expired, and I wanted fresh beef. He had a attitude and I could tell he didn't want to help me. He had no problem helping a Latin Man a few minutes prior. The staff here are rude, and seem to be racist towards certain ethnic groups. read more

The best supermarket in the area. Everything you would need is available here. Meats prices good, the butcher slices the meats to your request , small seafood section but all the necessities. Vegetables and fruits are fresh. Bakery section also has espresso with the best Nutella tarts. I can even get my hands on Asian grocery items which is amazing. read more

Wide selection, customer service is rude at best. Was here the April 29th asking for a job, lady at CUSTOMER SERVICE handed a check to her employee made eye contact then left into her office. Spoke not only english but in Spanish hopefully that got the answer. Yet, no very ugly customer service. There's another lady there who did help me but she was sweet ( even helped my mom ) yet that terrible experience just overshadowed everything especially being talked about and ridiculed as I walked away. I only go to Seabra once a month on average, but from the last half a dozen visits, I get a nasty, disgusting look from the cashier every time I check out. Most of the time the cashiers were very young, from high teens to early twenties. And today, she threw the changes at me and I had to pick up the coins which were scattering all over the place! I know I should have complain to the manager, maybe next time, if there's going to be a next time. I do grocery shopping at least once a week, and this is the reason I visit Seabra less and less. read more

Below average updated review. I think after buying bad produce and meat 3 different times is enough. Expired items all over the shelves. Hopefully they get better at keeping track of their inventory so I don't have to stop cooking dinner in the middle of my recipe to return items and then have to go out to dinner! It's one of only a handful in the area and close by but they don't have enough turn over and everything's always expiring soon or expired. Don't buy fruit from this market unless you know for a fact it's fresh! I bought a variety of fruit the other day: mangos, nectarines, avocados! Everything I bit into or sliced was rotten and mealy!! Even the soda water I bought was not fizzy when opened! One thing I will add is that the deli section is amazing! I Boar's Head and the Deli Staff are the best!! read more

Monday 10/30/17 around 8:15 PM The supervisor of the store (a female, blond hair) had a Security Officer (also a female with blond hair, her hair was tired back into a short low ponytail and she wore a cap on her head) gang stalk me in the store as I was shopping for my groceries. It happened for a good 2 mins before the Security Officer finally left the store. She was acting like she was looking for something when she wasn't; she was actually following me in the store. I still bought my groceries and spent $84.43 because I needed food for my home. It will be THE LAST time that I ever go there. Seems like they have something against minorities, especially anyone who looks black. Going forward, I will be doing all of my food shopping online. I won't be surprised if Seabra Foods ends up going out of business and replaced by a bigger supermarket giant like ShopRite or Stop & Shop. read more

Beware of what they add to the receipt. Now, Seabra is a good store but this is the second time I got some bad experience from the staff. Today for billing, my cashier was a girl with glasses and thick, fake drawn-on eyebrows. Halfway through the billing, i noticed an item "molette bread" in my list. I knew I had not got such an item and asked. She waved her hand indicating not to interrupt her while she scans the items. I didn't want to let go and brought it up again when she finished scanning all the items. At this point and said will get her manager to get it removed. Another cashier brought the manager over and got it fixed. But still don't understand how would item get randomly added and I would have paid for it, if I didn't catch it read more

I was very excited they opened a Seabras close to me which would make it very convenient to get certain products I don't find at shoprite. However, in the past year that they have been opened I have had to return numerous items after getting home and seeing they were rotten/ spoiled/ or tasted awful (pastry that tasted like it sat out next to fish). They have always honored the return but I can't trust buying things there. Especially meat! The packaged meat tasted awful and I stopped buying any meat there. read more

Great for last minute pick ups. But be prepared to over pay like crazzzzzzyyyyyy!! Super expensive. My problem isn't that the pricing. It's them not tracking their expired items, i bought cookies from Brazil that were expired by a month. I bought a pack of chicken that literally had cancer growth on it... like who is packing the meat there?? Is he/she blind? It was gross. They were fine with returning or exchanges. Great seeing a local supermarket that carries authentic ingredients and food. There's always sufficient parking. Lines at the register aren't ever an issue. The place itself is very clean and organized. There variety is pretty wide. They do have a take out food section. The food is always fresh and delicious. Price wise, I find it to be on the expensive side. This is one of those places that you can say "you get what you pay for". The pricing is worth it. Was happy to see this market come to town but after a few visits I was no longer happy, they are extremely overpriced, their freezer section always seems to make products look like they were defrosted and then refrozen. Their hot bar and salad bar are way too overpriced for the quality they are putting out. My last visit consisted of long lines with new cashiers and apparently no manager to help with the new cashier and customer...customer ended up leaving without his groceries because cashier could not access the proper payment selection on register. read more

The produce prices here are the best in the area, especially if you use the weekly specials. Haven't had any issues with the freshness of it, lasts just as long as Shoprite and quality is the same to me. The fresh baked bread is also great. Store has a selection of international foods that you can't find elsewhere as well. read more

The cashier on shift at 6-7pm on 1/4/2020 has horrible attitude. When customer reminded him that the wrong product was entered and the unit price should be changed, he checked (demanded the customer to go with him to check) and found it was his mistake, but still insisted the unit price was the same (which happens to be the same after checking). Not only did he not listen to customer's feedback, he also exclude one product out of the bag without asking customer. Horrible attitude and lack of training. Not sure why he was hired. read more

Clean and well stocked, we are so happy to have a quality supermarket in the Harrison area. It's definitely smaller than the one in Newark, but much more updated. I'm so glad they sell oxtail and other speciality items. read more

I could easily give this place 5 stars if their deli workers were not so pre-occupied. If you need help at the deli counter or the hot food bar, you are absolutely ignored. Today 5 workers were behind the counter, only one was filling an order of at least 5 sandwiches, myself and 2 other gentlemen watched the other 4 with their backs to us. One was just speaking to the man making the sandwiches doing nothing and another was cutting cheese into trays. I would not comment if this had not happened to me more than once. I love the produce and I love this store but deli is just horrid to get service. read more
