My biggest complaint about this store is the shortage of disability electric carts. I have never gone in this store that I didn't have to wait at least half an hour, and it usually is longer, more like an hour, to get a cart. And, except for the subway sandwich shop, there is no place to sit down to wait. The staff is usually pretty nice about getting me one as soon as they can, but there just aren't nearly enough. You would think with the baby boomer generation, getting older and the number of disabled increasing like it is, they would pay a little more attention to such a large and ever increasing demographic. We make up a huge portion of their customer base. I go to the Kroger next door whenever possible. They are more expensive, but I have never once had to wait for a cart. read more

Walmart Supercenter - Well presented produce but insane prices - Department Stores Near Me - Lebanon, Indiana

In the 36 hours since I and my little service Chihuahua Panchita pulled off of I-65 on our way to Chicago - in order to seek help with a mechanical problem with our car - I have been very impressed with the friendliness of the people of Lebanon Indiana. We have spent the last year and a half roaming the back roads of the high mountains of Western North Carolina, then a week exploring rural Kentucky and now a couple of weeks exploring rural Indiana. Overall, I have come to like country people a lot more than city people. They seem gentler and sweeter and calmer and more willing to just take people as they are. They tend to fall all over my sweet little dog - and to go out of their way to help others in general. In a couple of visits to this Walmart, I also have been impressed with this store. Somehow it seems less jangly and nervous-making than the typical Walmart. And people of been very sweet to my dog. But tonight I had an encounter with a young staff woman - who may actually have been the front end manager, God forbid - that burst my little bubble. This maybe 25-ish woman with long straight black hair - whose name tag I never did see - was actually quite attractive and I was prepared to like her. I went up to the two cashiers had been helpful to me a few minutes before and asked if I could get change for a dollar for the soda machine in the hall. What tells me that this woman may have been their manager was that she threw her voice above them to answer - in a tone of voice that was absolutely devoid of any element of human kindness - "No, sorry, we don't give change." That took me quite aback. It was two hours before closing time and they were not busy. It was - and it is - hard for me to believe that this could have literally been true, that she could not open a cash register or wait until one was open for a transaction and break a dollar bill for me. I was in a good mood and I sure did not want to let this young woman's snippiness ruin my good mood. She certainly wasn't worth me getting angry or self-righteous. But it was really clear that she did not feel sorry at all. She actually seemed enjoy telling an old white man that he couldn't buy a Pepsi. So I mustered all the sarcasm at my command and simply said, "Oh, you can't make change! What a concept. Big store like this does not have the power to break a dollar bill. How silly of me." My mechanic appointment is not until the day after tomorrow, so I may end up back in the store again. If I do go in again, I will certainly try to find out her name and talk to her manager. She does not belong in Lebanon and she does not belong in any role that features customer service. If, in fact, she is some kind of supervisor or front and manager, I really feel sorry for the people who have to work under her. It's pretty clear that flaunting her power is more important to her than human relationships. read more

I have always had great service from the employees thru out the store. I have, in my old age of 62 years, learned to smile at cashiers and ask them "how are you today?" You would be surprised at the times I have heard "Man, I've been in retail for "x" number of years and no-one has ever asked me that." Isn't it a shame we aren't more courteous towards each other? Why is it so hard for us to appreciate someone? Sorry thing is, it only takes a sentence or two to make someone's day. I have been shopping, with a millionaire, to the very best high end stores. I will take my local Wal-mart employees, who I appreciate and treat respectfully, any day of the week. The gal over the jewelry department is always pleasant and the manager of the Automotive department always has a smile to offer and the time to listen to you and help in any way she can. Once I was getting a flat tire fixed and didn't realize till the end that the person who put the tire in my trunk was the store manager himself. You attract more bees with honey as opposed to vinegar. I'm glad I have this store and her employees to go to when I need to. read more

Racist!! The cashier people are rude! Ok so I was at the self checkout and this customer service employe started checking my friends stroller and looking for "store items", she literally checked everything and almost her purse! She said it was a policy to check "every bag or pockets". First of all they have never ever checked bag or strollers. My friend has been their millions of times with her stroller and never had been checked. It was so embarrassing people were looking at us like thieves!!! Large, clean, and stacked with all the provisions I needed for my Indy 500 weekend. Wide aisles and cheerful staff gave me a different opinion of Walmart than I've found elsewhere in the country. Only thing I could ask for is for the staff assisting in the beverage areas to have a bit more of a clue as to what they're selling (seriously...how could you not know what club soda is?). read more

This wal-mart double scans your item. I would say 3 out of 5 times they at least double scan one item on your receipt. this has been going on for a couple years now and the store has to know that this is been going on. I myself have been to customer service right after leaving the checkout line to have my money refunded and while there other customers are having the same thing done as well. I have wrote corporate office about this and still nothing has been done. they know they have a scanning issue and choose not to fix it so they can have a higher store profit. more people need to stand up and fight this because is starting to get out of hand. read more

I really wish I could give this place more stores since it's the main "go-to" store in our small community, but the service/employees is below sub par. This has been going on for YEARS. When I have asked for help in the past I've gotten eye-rolling, "yeah, I can't help you that's not my department" --(so find someone who can!), I've even had to approach employees who were in a group of 5 and were sitting on all the patio furniture and ask them if they could help me and everyone just stared at me and finally someone decided to get up and help me. It's ridiculous. But I do have to admit the only reason why I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 is because there are a couple of nice people who work there and those couple of people are the only people I ever ask for help. My advice, drive the extra couple miles south to Meijer or go to Menards if you can. read more
