Clean, efficiently run store with conscientious, hardworking employees. Good prices and selection of items. Store appears to be well stocked with appropriate items for the season. Parking was plentiful and convenient. Garden department employee was helpful. She agreed that the Collectors Cactus Plants from Costa Farms should be re-stocked, as they are popular. Some of the houseplants that were reduced for quick sale were in such poor shape that they should be thrown out. read more

Cheap gas, paper products, and pet supplies. The lines at the checkout are a nightmare, usually. I try not to go thru the self check out, but it's pretty much impossible to NOT. There are hardly any cashiers running the lanes. I try to avoid this place on the weekends and evenings. read more

Why are Wal-Marts so damn depressing? Is it because of the concrete floors? Or the basic blue and white color scheme? Because the people who shop there look tired and worn-out by life? Or the parking lot is filled with K-cars? Walmart is the store of last resort. I had been all over town looking for a phone case for my burner. I had to get a new phone for work and went cheap and Android. Got the phone at another Wal-Mart because of price and the associate suggested coming here for the case. They did show them online so I thought, after hitting everywhere else in town, I'd come here. I navigated thru the store to the electronics department where a nice man said they did have them at one time and that I should buy it online. Nope. You had your chance, Walmart. And blew it. It's not too busy, the place stocks are so un organized prob short staff. All stock just sitting in boxes every where you just go around it.

They are remodeling to make it better but it is worse. The isle are tiny now making it harder to get around and good luck finding anything. Either it's out of stock or out of date. If you do buy anything be sure to check the pull date. Everything from yogurt to mouthwash are still on the shelves after they should have been pulled. The store is a mess most of the since it is painfully understaffed. The people who are there seem to have given up. Cashiers and service desk workers would rather talk to each other and goof off then help you. Don't bother trying to find a decent parking spot the employees take those. There are some bright spots like the employees who really try and do everything they can. Also the prices are decent sometimes. read more

I would give them no stars if it would let me!! I went to the service desk at 6 pm today and the 2 ladies that were behind the desk were so rude... I was handed back my paperwork and told I can't do anything with it and called the next person before even trying to trouble shoot the situation. The managers and staff are not professional at all. I will use Meijer from now on !! If you can choose do not shop at the Monroe Wal-Mart every experience is a horrible one. read more

Nice new clean store. I like the skylights for the added lighting. The layout of the store is okay but not user-friendly. I don't care for the concrete floors, and some of the customers seem different I guess. I can't quite figure the out a proper way of describing it. I will say Walmart has a lot of items and have good prices. I don't care for their parking lot at all or the entrance and exit of the store. I'm glad they finally put in a few of the self-checkouts. Purchased glasses in the optical dept. within 5 days the lens fell out. They put it back in and again 7 days later it fell out. Went back and told them something must be wrong with frames. No she tried to tell me I must not be using two hands to take them off and on. Really!! been wearing glasses for years. Then she watched me put them on as if I were a child. Well they continued to fall out and this last time I couldn't find the lens. Now it will cost me $75 to replace them as the warranty is only good for 2 months and it was 2 months and 10 days. Why would I spend $75 for a new lenses when it will just fall out again!! read more

Horrible online pickup. Waited over 45 minutes for a pickup at the Kiosk. 100 of workers walking by, yet no one can help.

I remember entering my first Walmart in the early 80's while in the military, it was a great concept. Offering grocery, electronics, hardware, household appliances, clothing and automotive goods all under one roof. Friendly, helpful service and fast check outs! The closest thing to it as a child growing up was Kmart. While Kmart was to slow to adapt and expand, causing their failure and fall, Meijer was not. Meijer became a better store because of Walmart. Better layout, display, grocery and customer assistance than Walmart. I picked up a bag of bird seed from this store over 20 years ago that had moths in it, (they have since changed to a better supply company) and did not realize it until I opened the bag at home. It was to late then. I have had moths in the house ever since. Customer service than and even now is shameful. A poor reflection of the first Walmart I ever shopped at. A reflection of the people of Michigan. read more

You can't return clearance here. The clearance item was purchased one week prior at this same store, was unopened, and I had the receipt. Yet when I needed to return it I was told they do not return clearance. This is not stated in their return policy and is not told to you upon checkout. read more

It seems like nearly every time I go here I encounter unreasonably long lines at the checkout and not enough registers. Once I googled the store and called the manager from the checkout lane asking her if she planned to open some more registers. To her credit, she did open a line and rang my order. I have also encountered waiting at the back desk with no employees present to pick something up and having several employees walk by without saying a word. Used to be a decent place to shop, but service has declined lately. I prefer to go to Meijer and only go here for certain things now. read more

The customer service at this Walmart is a joke. I've shopped here many times and I've never had an employee be friendly when I ask a question. Everyone seems either depressed, mad or unprofessional. I was just in there and bought a small thing of paint for a project and I bought the wrong color, it was only 50 cents so I could have just bought another but I had no use for the one I purchased so I wanted to exchange it. I went in around 6:50pm and the service area lights were off so I asked a female employee at a register, who was not checking customers, she was messing with a box, if they were closed. She wouldn't look up and mumbled that they left and will be back. I was in a hurry and asked her if they just left and she again wouldn't look up and had a blank stare and continued messing with the box and never answered me and I said ma'am? And she kept mumbling things and then she saw a male employee walking by and called him and he told me I could do it at a register, so he took the paint to a register and that employee started to complain that she had to do it and no one seemed to notice me standing there so I walked off and got the right paint. When I came back there was a huge line at that register and shocker it was the only one open. The cashier saw me and then a few minutes later another female worker walked about the speed of a snail to the register and the cashier pointed to me and told her and of course she didn't do anything and just stood there with no expression so I got fed up and just walked to self check out and paid for the paint and left the old one with them. I went in there in a good mood and left in an awful one. Walmart should be embarrassed of the employees they have. read more

Meijer has baskets for customers that have a short shopping list. Walmart never has any. I asked the greeter why they never have the baskets and she said "They steal them". That is an excuse not a reason. Be proactive and place one of the alarm tag one each basket. read more

This Walmart's employee's are the best so far out of all the Walmart locations I have been too, they always great me with a smile on their face, offer me help if I look a little lost and wish me a good day as I go. Another good thing about this Walmart is it is always so clean, I can find someone cleaning something every time I go in. Bought a used game from them and it didn't work when I got home. Took the game back and was told I had to exchange it for the exact same game. However, they didn't have the exact same used game, so picked up a new copy of the same game. Went back to exchange and they said I would have to pay an up-charge. Asked for store credit and was denied. They people working the service area didn't even know they sold used games. read more
