Went to Walmart at 8:30 on a Sunday morning today. I wanted to beat the crowd. I went through very quickly found everything. The store is cleaner now since they had their grand reopening. Being a Sunday I wasn't blocked by the personal shoppers as usual. Everything went fine until I went to the checkout at 8:45 AM the self checkout that they doubled in size was closed. They were only two registers open one at each end. I was number seven in line. After not moving for five minutes, another line opened up in the middle unfortunately I was boxed in and other people got there first. It's a shame that you can go through and do your shopping and have to wait forever to pay. The other problem is they don't fix their credit card machines. I've learned over the last three years after getting six new Walmart cards that it's not my card. You have to get rejected three times after inserting and then slide your card in order to pay. About six months ago I met their inspectors from the Home office. I complained about these things they seemed interested. But nothing has changed. This Walmart is the closest and most convenient for me to go to. read more

Just self check out but instead of the normal area you walk down lane that looks like you used to have someone there helping you... the kiosk wasn't working well got stuck behind an old lady that needed so much in person help and was super slow. They just moved everything around and I was looking for something specific in sporting goods, There was a lady, a Walmart employee, I thought it was lady because she had breasts, long hair and had ear rings, I said mam to her three times, she never acknowledged me, she had iPods in hers ears, so I thought she didnt hear me. She then looks at me an angrily sais, I heard you but was waiting for you to ask a question. It then hit me, this was a trans employee! How in the world am I supposed to know that and why is this person mad at me when I addressed her politely, because she looked like a woman! I happened to walk past the manager as I left the area and we discussed what happened. im done with Walmart, I don't go into a store and then leave feeling like I did something wrong. I had a good experience at this Walmart Supercenter, which is the more northern of the two in Mount Pleasant. It's a very large shopping center and they have quite a lot of landscaping throughout, but walkways and cart corrals make it easy to be out of the traffic. Inside, the store is well stocked (at least for what I was seeking) and I had no trouble finding things. Self-checkout worked well and I was on my way swiftly. Restrooms were clean. We completely ran out of all our groceries and we filled up our cart to the brim! Unfortunately this Walmart was out of tons of groceries and other food we still needed! There was not one cashier. Half of the self check out machines had red lights which means they were out of service. It took us a really long time to check out because we had to wait so long to even be able to use the machine. Not all of our groceries fit so we were constantly shuffling items around and had to put some of our bags on the floor. Horrible experience. Left exhausted. I'd rather pay more and go to Publix. read more

I lived less than 7 miles from this particular Walmart for 5 years and it had been open until 11 many times that I have gone. All websites including this Yelp website says this particular Walmart is open until 11pm. I just pulled up and was told at 10:12pm we are closed. Worst experience ever. I came to groceries store Walmart... around 730 pm. After shopping I went to check out. I had a full cart. They absolutely refused to have someone to come and check me out. They will not open any registers. I prefer to do it this way. In my opinion someone lost there job so I can check myself out, bag my own groceries. It took me 30 minutes to check out and they had to come and help me 4 times to get machine to run again. What a waist of my time. What happened to customer service here. When Sam Walton created walmart it was all about customer service. Oh and don't let me forget the young man that could not find the roccada. He just said I don't know where it is. I'm sorry, but I truly hope I never go back to this Walmart. They just are not about their customers. I went today (Saturday) which, for most stores selling all kinds of items making it a one stop shop, are busy on Saturdays. It wasn't very busy. I went at 10:00. I did my shopping and was ready to check out and OF COURSE there are only two lanes open. One side of the store self check was closed and the other had 17 (I counted) customers waiting to check out. The manager was standing near, and could see all of this. I waited 45 minutes to get to the cashier. That's just unacceptable. No wonder no one shops there. If you could get in and out it would make a tremendous difference. Surely there was someone else in the store that could use a cash register. Not worth it. I went to target and there were 6 cashiers and self check. When a cashier was free, there was someone directing traffic to the next open lane. It was impressive. Walton family, you should be ashamed of your Mt. Pleasant store on Route 17. It is dirty and unpleasant. Some of your employees are rude, arrogant and combative. The store needs a qualified manager to train and oversee employees, insisting that all employees exercise courteous and helpful behavior and with a smile...or at least a demeanor that makes the customer want to return. Many of us know that some of the problem is low pay, no insurance for part-timers (you have many), which subsequently brings in low quality people with bad character. You do have some good people there, but not enough. Having been in many Walmarts elsewhere, they somehow reflect a very different attitude and atmosphere. It's time to clean house! read more

Grocery pick up has never been on my radar until this Corona virus. This is the best thing ever. I get what I need and no lingering in the store or long lines. If they're out of something , they substitute it with permission or delete it from the order. If there are issues with any items , customer service handles it promptly and issues refunds within a day instead of a week. Great experiences so far. I'm likely to continue this after the issues with Corona Virus are resolved!! Way to go Walmart !! read more

It's Walmart. Usually, if you have been to one, you have been to them all. I stopped at this location yesterday to grab 2 quick things. It was kinda crazy because of the holidays, so things were busy. But I was able to easily find the 2 things I needed and opted to check out at the Garden Center. The cashier was super nice. He was filling in on the register and was pulled from whatever he was supposed to be doing, but...he definitely didn't act like it bothered him. This review is for specific customer service only. Normally, I'd rate this store location MUCH higher. I recognize that some service personnel in retail and restaurant environments have had to deal with customers that lack patience and are rude; that's not what happened here. Yesterday, I needed to return a can opener I'd purchased on-line. This was a $9.99 item, and I expected a quick transaction. While waiting in line, I watched the customer service representative give the woman in front of me a very difficult time. She also asked another employee for her ID number to enter into the system (multiple times). She finally processed one item of the customer's return, but refused to process the second item (a kit with paint trays and rollers), saying it didn't come from the store. When it was my turn, I had a copy of the part of the order delivery page showing Walmart, my name and address, the purchase (item name, code, picture, and price). I had the item with the tag still on it. The employee glanced at the item and, without even checking in the system, said she wouldn't take the return. Unfortunately, I hadn't printed the whole page with the order number. She told me I would have to go home, look it up, and return. After explaining that wasn't reasonable and I wasn't looking for cash, she could simply provide store credit or some other option. She could find my order in the system. She said I should just look it up on my phone. I explained that the order would not be on my phone, to which she snidely repeated that my phone should have the email andI had to provide the order number. I patiently explained, again, that I have multiple email accounts and the one I use for online orders was NOT on the phone and asked if she could pull it up in the system using my email address. She insisted I would have to go home, look up the order, and then come back. I asked if another customer service representative could help, because I hadn't had any problems previously. Finally, she pulled it up using my phone number (which took all of about 10 seconds). At this point, she then said she wouldn't take the return because I needed to go home and "package" the item for return because it had been fulfilled by a third party. I explained I purchased the item from Walmart.com and that the information online states we can return things to the store. Finally, with significant heavy sighs and eye-rolling on her part, she pulled a FedEx bag from a stack behind her--evidently for the exact purpose--inserted the can opener, and printed a label and tracking number and told me the money would return to my account after it was received. This action took less than a minute. I told her that was no problem, and thanked her. Meanwhile, the first woman had gone to the paint department and pulled a duplicate of the item she had tried to return from the shelf. She asked If I'd be willing to help if the "customer service" rep gave her a hard time AGAIN, having now proved the item came from the store. I told this customer I would absolutely help her if she had the same problem. I told her where I'd be (over at Regal Nails) because there was now a line of four more customers waiting for service. About 20+ minutes passed, and the customer let me know another employee had finally helped her without any problems. I'm hoping the woman who made both our experiences at Walmart unnecessarily unpleasant was new and just didn't know how to process or look up items. At the same time, if she were new, she didn't ask for support from other personnel to help her. The total time to properly help either of us (estimated at about 2 minutes each) was far less than the actual time of trying to not offer customer support (actual time of about 35-40 minutes combined, given the extra wait time I experienced, the time with the rep, the time the other customer had to spend to get a duplicate from store shelves, and her second wait time in line and receive help). I hate to leave low reviews, and provide details to show why a low review applies. In this case, a manager probably needs to observe and help employees at the customer service counter to prevent more frustrating experiences. read more

In Mount Pleasant this Walmart location in the Oakland Shopping Center is referred to as the "New Walmart", and the one down the street in the Wando Crossing Shopping Center as the "Old Walmart". Apparently the "new" has worn off here and we need to start referring to this Walmart store as the "Crappy @$$ Walmart". This Walmart location is dirty inside and out, there are buggies all over the parking lot, and trash everywhere. The location of the merchandise in this store is so scattered it is hard to find what you are looking for; and half the time they run out of items due to bad ordering techniques. And "most" of the staff here is just plain horrible; they are lazy, rude, and inconsiderate of their customers. Where do they get these crappy employees; half of them look like and act like they just finished smoking a blunt before they came to work. With that said not all employees here suck so bad. As a matter of fact the best customer service we have received was this Walmart in the photo lab department; the lady that works back there is super sweet and sold us on an awesome camera. We ended up ordering the camera from Walmart.com after her excellent customer service; because the store sucks and was out of stock. It's Walmart, can't really expect superior customer service and selection. I usually just go here for simple basics like health and beauty items, garden supplies, and occasional home items. Not a regular shopper here; I really do not like the food/grocery area, just to primitive and basic. Cheap prices sure, but I do want better quality. Visits can vary to the shopping experience, as my last visit (on a Sunday afternoon) the store was rather empty, but the store conditions were poor. The sporting goods aisle had merchandise all over the floor and needed recovery. Then looking for light bulbs, I found the shelves rather empty, not just one shelf, but the whole section. Recovery, re-stocking, store conditions need attention. Service, basic..rather check myself out than get poor service from staff at the register. But, it's Walmart. read more

Get to the register and the girl says she cannot check me out because it does not have a barcode. So she sent me to customer service. Customer service was closed. I kid you not. Today is my brides birthday and I wanted to get her something unusual and special. Mickey and Jay helped me to get some of the best pastrami, Swiss cheese and rye bread going and she's gonna love it. A lot of people have disparaging remarks about this establishment, and I cannot deny that I too, have had some of those words in the past. This Wal-Mart is really dirty and cluttered. I entered through the lawn and garden area and there were 4 customer baskets in front of the doors like customers had walked off and left them. I saw a Walmart employee walk out look at them and walk away. I had to walk around them to get to the doors. I wouldn't have thought so much of it if the inside of the store hadn't been in much the same disarray. Boxes full of merchandise where in almost every aisle some of them ripped open with things spilling out so you have to step over around them. The picture I took was in the middle of the aisle in lawn & garden by pool supplies. It honestly looks to me like a trip and fall waiting to happen. We moved here April first. This story is a half mile away. I have noticed that the floor employees are rude and walk through you so we have to stop the home shopping people are blocking you and pushing Those carts I went there 5-26-23 in the AM. As usual I was looking for plastic bags in the produce section. I came to an end of an isle and a woman was blocking the isle with a cart of orange bags I quietly said excuse me. She snapped back why did I go down an isle where she was. I interpreted her texting on her phone another employee stood and watched this she continued to mouth off when she move she pushed my cart almost hitting the corner display. I then asked if people at that store got paid more to be so rude and discourteous. I went to customer service. They couldn't get a manager but I discussed it with the supervisor. I guess nothing will change. I miss the days when Sam Walton lived. Employees were helpful and nice. The also advertised their products were made in America. read more

This location is my favorite location between Mt Pleasant and West Ashley. Generally, it's clean and everyone is always very kind. I do want to rave about grocery pickup as I have been using it for the last few weeks and they are on top of it! I would've given zero stars but the guy that gave us our order is really sweet. Walmart is my family's go to place for groceries but there is always never anyone working there. Me and my mom went to go pick up our walmart order around 6:30-7pm,we got our spot and put in the app that we were here. We waited a little for about 10 minutes, no one was there, we waited for almost an hour before I decided to get out the car and see what's going on. There was other people getting out too, all the spots were filled at the time. I went out and walked up to the lady that worked there who standing outside, she asked for the name of the order and so I gave her the name which she proceeds to say your names on the list. This is by far the worst walmart ive ever been to. I don't think..ill ever return to another walmart. The staff are absolutely horrendous. Ive never encountered such despicable people. They dont speak, make eye contact, or help at all. They do not care one bit about their job. As far as the store itself? Nothing is in stock. I'd rather spend an extra $25 a week and go to Publix than deal with this atrocity they call a store. The icing on the cake? You have to get your own cart from the parking lot. There's no one retrieving them. I asked "where are the carts?" Hard to believe I know, but I'd never been to a Wal-Mart Market/Supercenter. I took a friend here because she has mobility issues and, for that reason, it's a good place to grocery shop. The aisles are nice and wide and stock is easy to reach from the motorized carts. That is, the items that are actually in stock. Several items were unavailable. No grapefruit!? No eggplants!? I asked an employee where to find something. She didn't even turn to look at me, but she did answer so... Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of their customer service. Cashiers were nice though. The prices are insanely reasonable. If I had a big family and budget was a concern, I'd begrudgingly shop for food here. It's easy to see why so many people have trouble with their weight. I didn't go in to shop for myself, but everywhere you look (not just the grocery section) there's food. Need a bra? Oh look...cookies. Batteries? Ah chips. Yikes. My biggest pet peeve though... I bought five items, crackers, cheese, cherries... Each item was double bagged. No options for paper bags. That's 5 items in 10 (TEN) plastic bags. Come on Wal-Mart. read more
