I came in to purchase an outdoor rug. At the register it rung up $20 more than the sign had it listed for. We had an associate check the sign and pricing and he agreed it was their mistake they had the sticker price incorrect on the product. I asked if they'd honor the price since it's on the product, and he refused. I asked if he could ask the manager because that's outrageous to have it listed at a certain price WITH the sticker price listed on the product but have it scan another price. The manager also would not honor the price it was listed for. This is the SECOND time I've ran into wrong signage at this store. I'm starting to believe it's a bait and switch situation. I suggest not shopping here the leaders and crew are terrible and if you decide to do order pick up be aware of your order, many items will just be tossed into your bag without a care to make you think you have the correct item (You won't). Another thing is that their parking lot is a mess it's potholes in every section of the lot. also if you decide to call them for anything no one ever picks up the phone one time I had a order pick up and I called 6 times and the employees are literally standing by the door doing who knows what where the phone is completely ignoring it, then once a employee finally came out they took another almost 10 minutes to bring out my order... another thing is my daughter used to work for that department and claimed the team literally lets their phone ring and laughs about how the customers are sitting outside while they take their time (Of course don't stress yourself but be professional and get the job done!!!) This place is ran by children 99% of the time also and if you do find someone who seems like they know what they are doing they'll send you to a completely wrong aisle or provide no help. So how did the lighters end up the centerpiece of a situation that resulted in Paolucci and his gay partner, Thomas Hitchcock, being banned from Wal-Mart, not only in Niles but everywhere? That's the rest of the story. Paolucci said he and Hitchcock had visited the store often since the two Chicago attorneys -- for 13 years, Paolucci was general counsel for the real estate investment company owned by Chicago billionaire Sam Zell -- opened a store known simply as Front in downtown Buchanan. The "high-end modernist gallery/shop," as Paolucci described it, stemmed from an extensive rehabilitation project. He and Hitchcock own investment properties in downtown Buchanan as well, they said, plus a second home near Buchanan that they occupy with two special-needs 11-year-old twin sons they adopted from Romania. "The kids call us Daddy and Poppa," said Paolucci, who maintains a primary residence with Hitchcock and the boys in Chicago's Lincoln Park area.Reward for good behavior On Aug. 16, the four traveled to Wal-Mart at least in part, Paolucci said, to reward the twins for recent good behavior. "We objected only when they tried to get us to go into the detention room."By the time they were read the statement, Paolucci and Hitchcock said, the twins had told them that the security staff had allegedly threatened them in the security room and had made disparaging remarks about Paolucci and Hitchcock's lifestyle. After waiting nearly 25 minutes to get to the front of the return line I was greeted by MINNIE (NOT the mouse, but the hood RAT!.. I'll get to that later) I went in to return a gift that my nephew already had, from the electronic department. Minnie said that she needed to call someone from the electronic department to check it out first, so I waited another 10 minutes for him to arrive. Upon inspection he said it was sealed, but still needed to open it to follow policy. After tearing the box into pieces trying to get it open, he said it's missing some papers and cannot take the return! Now I've already invested 30+ minutes trying to do a simple return and am now told that I am stuck with this product because of some PAPERS?!. I immediately asked to speak to a supervisor about this and when she eventually arrived, MINNIE goes on telling her that I'm trying to return a used and torn opened product that's missing stuff. I stop her there clarifying that it was purchased new from their store and UNOPENED, which the electronics guy confirmed. Now why some mysterious papers were missing, I still have no idea. Then the hood rat Minnie starts getting loud with ME, saying, "You callin' me a liar?!" I asked her to stop making things up and that I did NOT open the product, and that it was the electronics guy who opened it, RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER... She responded, "you think I care about this job, let's go I'll meet you outside in the parking lot right now!" At that point the supervisor properly handled my return, but didn't handle or apologize for behavior of her unprofessional employee. I wasn't sure if anyone else in line was hearing how comical this lady was sounding. You would think that someone like this would outgrow saying those phrases, apparently not for Minnie. Went to a couple of Walmart's in search for a bicycle for our grandson and ended up at the Niles IL location... I checked the app and it said the one I wanted was in stock but I could not find it... (they only had a pink one ) as I was getting discouraged I saw an associate who looked helpful and I asked if she can check in the back for this bicycle and she said sure... Seems she was about to clock out to go home but she didn't mind.... it took a little bit but she emerged from the back with the bicycle and my grandson was soooo happy!!!! My brother is handicapped so i have to drive him every time he goes out. I can't even find a handicapped parking space let alone a regular one? It's terrible. Yeah, yeah - I'm Yelping a Wal-Mart. I've been to a number of them, and this is about the best -kept one I've come across. The other reviewers are right. It is clean, well-lit (a lot of natural lighting, not that unbearable overhead fluorescent lighting), and the employees I've interacted with seem friendly. It is the exact opposite of the Wal-Mart across town on Touhy, which is abysmally dirty, disorganized and depressing. This Golf Road location is newer; opened Oct. 2006. So far, it is still in good shape. Because the aisles are wider, it is more pleasant to navigate. While I typically head here with the intention of buying a few items more cheaply, I was pleasantly surprised with the kids clothes when I ventured in that department. I bought some organic cotton pajamas from the store's own George brand. They are cute, soft cotton and decent quality for the price (under $10). read more

This is the worst Walmart I have ever visited. Right when you walk in you see just rags and napkins all over the floor from an attempted spill clean up. Besides the overall scummy atmosphere we have poor placement of products, the lack of service or anyone with any braincells with a Walmart shirt walking around this establishment to show you where something is, and old rotten produce. Howard the assistant manager is truly a non-professional employee who cant even stand behind the stores policies. If i was the GM i would fire him. After waiting 45 min in line to return some extra merchandise that I did not need, they refuse to give me store credit because its "food". I might be one of the few people left in this country who has somehow managed to not set foot in a Walmart until now.... My mistake. I bought an air-conditioner using their "Site to Store" (buy it on-line, don't pay shipping if it gets sent to the store). Convenient, and a good price, I'll give them that. Seeing as I'm engaged in a "Sweat-Off" with my sister (meaning, we're seeing who can stand the summer heat longer without needing a/c) and I'm determined to win, I've decided to return the unopened a/c unit. I called the store to find out #1) how many days I have to return the unit and #2) is there any restocking fee. Simple enough, yes? NOOO! I watched my day-time minutes tick off my cell phone as I was transferred around the store SIX times... for goodness sake. I finally got the operator, who couldn't even answer the phone she was so busy laughing with co-workers in the background... when she finally pulled herself together enough to say "hello" and allow me to ask my question, she promptly hung up on me. Bottom Line: Got it. They've got lower prices. That's a given. BUT, now I see why people would rather pay an extra $10 and buy products from a smaller store where if there's a problem, somebody might actually decide to "own" that issue and help you find the answer. read more

Hey give me back my cart dude. I was shopping aimlessly when all the sudden I discovered my cart was gone and in its place an empty cart. I could not believe it an hour had gone to waste I was to find everything all over again, I would not let this be my reality I invested too much in this walmart to just lose everything I worked for. I went on the hunt searching for my cart with my items some that were not on my shopping list and would never be able to find again. I suspected that maybe an employee took it. As I was looking I saw my cart then came closer and saw that indeed my cart and all its items has been rescued. Only one thing some random dude was pushing my cart. As I approached the cart I verified my items and asked the gentlemen if he had mistakenly taken the wrong cart. He looking confused and disoriented because he felt just as I did when my cart was missing so now he was on the hunt for his cart. Good luck old friend hope you find your cart. read more

Pleasantly surprised, I went to this Wal-Mart, I have to admit because it was there. I was looking for new cushions for my deck furniture. Not finding anything at the local target, I decided to take a ride up to a patio furniture place on Greenwood and Milwaukee, finding their stuff nice but to expensive for my needs, I was on my way home and spotted this Wal-Mart. Very surprised, the place was clean, well lit and the employees were generally in a good mood. They have a garden center, with flowers and all the other stuff, they also have a few cashier stations back in the garden department, happy to get in and out quick on a Sunday with just what I needed. read more

Dare I say that this is the friendliest Walmart that I have been to in a long time? The employees were smiling and friendly. I had a very nice conversation with the smiling cashier. I have always preferred this store over the one on the other side of town on Touhy. Even though that location is going to be the closest to me, I will do what I can to avoid going there. This store tends to be well organized and clean. I have never had issues with messy shelves or rude customers. It still is Walmart, but at least it is a fairly pleasant store. read more

I don't get the hate some people have for this location, so I'll also write a review in defense of it. If you think this location stinks, then you probably have never shopped at the Wal-Mart on Touhy Ave., north of Village Crossing Shopping Center. This is night and day better, vs. that Touhy Ave. location. And I only visit the latter location, as a last resort if I can't find an item anywhere else, or out of reluctant convenience. This Golf/Milwaukee Supercenter is 24/7 to boot like all other Wal-Mart Supercenters, so another great plus for this location. And for whatever funny reason, it's one of the rare places(besides Meijer in Niles) I've managed to find Rice Krispies Treats Cereal at. So it definitely deserves some kudos for that! read more

I always come here because of their price. It does help the family budget. I went to pick up about 20 items today, headed to a cashier ( I usually use the self-service). The cashier was very nice & friendly, BUT I checked my items & the receipt when I got home & realized that she scanned an item that wasn't in bags. I check a couple times & I am 1 item short. I suggest if you are paying for your groceries, to make sure you count your items & check your receipt right away as soon as it's handed to you. The number of items you paid for is always at the bottom of the receipt. Then check the spinning bag holder and make sure you are handed all your bags. So I purchased a tello drone and a Bluetooth device for my car. $130 dollars purchase for two items right? When I went to return these items. I was serviced by Diane who not only looked like she hated life. She could only do store credit and I was fine with that. She found only a single purchase for the Bluetooth device( in which was my brothers purchase that night as well). I told her impossible I bought these two items at the electronics register. She called CSM three times until 30 minutes in Lisa comes up in a yellow vest. That when it got worse. Lisa and Diane did not listen but yet Lisa accused me of stealing this drone and only buying the Bluetooth device. I got mad that a customer service manager just right off the bat accused me of stealing these when I've shown my bank statement with the correct Walmart location number of 3725. Down business they made a 30 dollar refund from my brothers purchase to my card. Lisa talked to Diane saying " you didn't check the card numbers you just made a refund from the code?". So I was furious as to wasting 45 minutes, missing dinner with my family who sat down and ordered while I was stuck in the same spot. I was sent to the Walmart in Touhy to be helped. When I got there a lady named miracle helped me and by let me tell you she was a miracle. She told me that those customer service and manager sent me off, and that I should go treat them. I went back in rage to see a long line. I walked to the front and demanded from Diane that I was fooled and wanted to return these. A group of workers wearing yellow vests were on the Right talking. When one came as to be called upon and my loud voice causing a scene. She helps me after a while of me being irritated. I get my damn $130 refunded to my card after an hour and forty-five minutes!! Summary- Lisa(manager) who accused me of stealing!!and Diane (service rep) who looked like she hated life no smile from either! wasted an hour and forty-five minutes of my time and missed dinner with my family only to be sent off to a different location and came back to no apology and finally helped from someone who actually did it. read more

The checkout lines are always long. Plan on waiting at least 15 mins to pay for your item. DO NOT BY ELECTRONICS OR THE WARRANTY I regret purchasing my Dell laptop from Walmart. It overheated and exploded one year later. I tried to file a claim with the (3 year) warranty that I had purchased. Trying to get it repaired was a nightmare. The warranty company is Asurion, and they kept referring me to Dell, which then Dell would refer me back to Walmart. Endless circles of "we don't fix that call the other". I finally filed a complaint with the BBB as Walmart was not honoring their warranty that I had paid for. After multiple emails with Walmart/Dell/BBB, Walmart finally took the laptop in for repairs. However, it's endless circles with them trying to get an update on when my laptop will arrive back and they have yet to provide tracking numbers for my repaired laptop. Never Again will I make the mistake of purchasing electronics from them. Be smart, and buy electronics from a reputable company. And I always end up regretting that I overpaid at a CVS or Walgreens knowing very well that I could've saved so much if I just made myself go down to Walmart. But this Walmart is always a mess. Compared to my other site to store experience at the Touhy location, this place is great. I bought an ipad from their website two weeks ago and came here to pick it up, the guy at the counter was a little awkward, but he was really nice and chatty (I spoke to him for probably 15 minutes afterward about computer stuff). Today I went around noon to pick stuff up and like another reviewer mentioned it was really slow. No one was there and I hit the "press button for service" screen 3 times. The returns counter finally called for someone. However, the girls at that counter acknowledged me right away and I never felt ignored (just impatient). Once the guy showed up it was fine. I'll continue to use this location for site to store, but I wish they were a little more prompt with answering their service pages. It's your typical run of the mill Wal - Mart. Nothing really special except that they have a really poor collection of cloth face cleaners. I was looking for the Equaline Exfoliating Wipes 120 pack for $6 since it was a better deal than buying a 60 pack for $4, but they had only one row of the 120 packs and the rest were packed to the max with the 60 pack boxes. I've notices that most other Wal - Marts always dedicate as much room stocking the one as the other. So I kinda didn't get my way there. The staff is not friendly, in fact most of the seem like they hate their job. It's not a happy shopping experience when people don't care to greet you. In addition they should also get more stockers who speak english so they could actually help the customers. Let's just mention too that the store wasn't super clean - honestly it wasn't super dirty - but there was definite need of improvement! read more

this Walmart is wonderful in the Morning, but from 11:30 Pm until 12 Am, it is disaster !, only 2 cashiers, no self-checkout, and sometimes I spent 10 - 15 minutes only to pay for 1 pound of banana! If they are afraid from the thieves! they are not come in this time, the thieves hours from 11:30 morning until 1:30 Pm, and then 4:30 -6:30 Pm , ( the rush Hours of the store). Although I live in Wilmette, I do most of my shopping at Walmart Supercenter on Golf in Niles, IL. This store is particularly well-staffed, and it's rare that I have to wait in line very long in order to check-out. The staff members are helpful in helping customers locate particularly items. I buy most of our groceries here, plus clothes, household items, and pretty much everything else. Their pricing is very competitive, and makes my 15-minute trip well worth while. read more
