Number one I think the old school aesthetic that really makes it feel Homie and less like a modern factory. Also, all the people who work here are so super nice and there's always a lot of people working here so this looks like the opposite of any other department store Also, during Christmas, they will wrap anything that you buy there for free and you even get choices which is so incredible because no place offers that anymore outside of Neiman Marcus They always have something good to select from and when I first started shopping there in my 20s the younger section was always very much on Trend. They have some really good brands that they care that you can also find at Nordstrom for example, you can find UGGs Nike Adidas coach, great beauty and fragrances, etc. I'm not giving them a perfect five stars because I do wish that part of the store had been renovated over the years or just kind of updated would've been great And also for people who don't know, they also have their own credit card and if you need a department store credit card, they actually charge you 0% Not sure if that's still the case today, but it was back then so what that meant was as long as you paid the minimum they didn't charge you any APR or finance charges.

The only reason I'm giving it three stars frankly is because even in the last almost 20 years I believe that they've been open unfortunately there's been a lot of turnover when it comes to the restaurants. I'm not sure if this is simply due to high rent, but there's really nothing that the Glen or its Landlord are doing in order to provide any real stability and it's rather unfortunate. Also, since this place was built, the parking situation has always been a challenge and it continues to be. In fact, it just gets worse with all these special parking places and reserve spaces that continue on the main strip. I do hope that things get better, but with the way that it has been structured and built there really is no opportunity for expansion whether being retail and restaurant space or even for parking I will say it's been great to see the movie theater Von Maur as an example of two establishments that have been here I believed the entire time this place has been open Similar to a lot of other moles, there's a lot of empty spaces and vacancies and it's very sad especially when it's surrounded by million dollar homes in a suburb of additional multimillion dollar homes

The massive area was previously the site of the Glenview Naval Air Station and this shopping center is the heart of the huge Glen residential community as well. There are numerous shops and restaurants here and it's always a pleasant experience to visit. Like Fashion Outlets in Rosemont, every time we visit there is something new here. One business or another has left and another has stepped in. The rent must be high here, and if you don't continually draw the requisite traffic, you won't survive. We've seen a lot of businesses come and go. Remember Ted's Montana Grill? - it was a favorite of ours and also one of the first to disappointingly close in our earlier years, and that's now The Oak at the Glen, and in a prime location. Some of our favorite and long standing and still standing businesses here are Von Maur, Dick's Sporting Goods, and the Yard House. I could probably name another 20 shops or restaurants we liked or tried here, but that have all since closed. Jibek Jolu is a relatively recent addition that we like for what that's worth. We were going to try Dee's Place (soul food) one day, but dang, they closed before we even got to it, and that was a big investment in a large space for that restauranteur, and too bad. It can get busy and crowded, but nicely there is alway parking to be found in one of their parking lots. Oh well, business is tough here for the tenants, but for us consumers, this is a great upscale town center.

Kohl's is a chain that we shop at with some regularity as they have good values and promotions, especially kiddo stuff, and oh boy, shopping for kiddos seems to be this grandma's full time job lol. She also likes ordering items online and then picking up locally. The self pickup service is very quick, convenient, and handy. In fact, it's so handy and staff independent, I wondered if there is ever a theft problem, but hopefully the honor system works on these sort of personal items that really are't worth trying to steal. The online ordering and self pickup system has resulted in us having visited the Kohl's stores in Arlington Heights, Schaumburg, and Vernon Hills as well and they are all fine, clean, and bright stores also.

Now, their customer service, especially some of their managers, who are arrogant and unaccommodating, could easily ruin the whole shopping experience. Recently, a couple days before Christmas, my good shopping experience was ruined by the middle-age female staff, named Luba, at the self-checkout stations. Then it was further worsened by her manager Alex. When there was a discrepancy between the scanned price and the price listed on the rack, Luba refused to ask someone to verify the price or honor the posted price. Instead, she insisted the scanned price must be correct and told me that if I did not like the price, I did not have to buy the item. To avoid wasting time, I chose not to purchase one item and paid the higher price for another. At the end, I was supposed to get a gift card from a deal. Nowadays, for security reason, Target would need their staff to put a sticker on the gift card, then scan it to link it to my account. However, after Luba put the sticker on the gift card, she didn't know what to do. She kept scanning the gift card as if I was using it for the transaction. Her action made the purchase system acting weird. Then she questioned if I was eligible for the gift card, and got her boss to help. Her boss was Alex. I had dealt with him numerous of times. He never smiles, acting in a condescending way, had never accommodated. This time, he said that the system had stopped working, and he had to void the whole transaction and re-scan everything. Needless to say, I was not happy. I said it's wasting my time. Then he responded by saying "it's wasting my time too"! I said he got paid for it. The he mumbled something. What kind of attitude was that? He was the customer service manager who needed to correct the mistake made by his staff. When I said the female staff didn't know what she was doing, he dismissed it by saying that Luba usually does not work in that area. That explanation is unacceptable, she was assigned to assist customers at self-checkout and should have been properly trained. It would have been fine if both of them just apologized for my inconvenience, but neither of them did that. No sorry, no thank you, Target really need to re-train their customer service staff of the Glenview store to understand what good customer service is.

Would take more than a week. A week came and went. Replacement parts never arrived. Called Wayfair who said parts won't be here for another 10 days -- so three weeks to get replacement parts! And who knows if they will even arrive then. 2). Ordered a filing cabinet. Arrived with a huge dent. Called Wayfair and was told I had to bring it to FedEx myself. 3). Ordered a rug pad 10x14. Got a pad that's much bigger. Still waiting for it to be picked up by Wayfair. 4). Ordered a replacement rug pad. Told the guy I needed it by Tuesday. He swore to me it would be here. It's now Friday and it's still not here. Each time I call Wayfair I get a different story depending on who I talk to. Order at your own risk!!!

For context, my mother works at another HomeGoods location and is an incredibly hardworking employee. She does her job well and is respected by her team, even though she doesn't speak much English. It was hurtful and unfair for her to be treated like she didn't belong simply because of a language difference. Marshalls and other companies under the same umbrella should hold their staff to a higher standard when it comes to inclusion and respect. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity--especially those who show up and do the work every day.

First, I want to say the staff at Walmart are great--friendly, helpful, and doing their best under pressure. And honestly, even if they weren't, I wouldn't blame them. People in retail work ten times harder than the average person, all while earning poverty wages and being stretched thin by management expectations. The fact that they're still showing up and trying is a testament to their resilience. I thank you and respect you for dealing with the insane selfish public daily. As the nation faces increasingly intense and frequent heat waves, it's critical that billion-dollar corporations like Walmart--valued at over $680 billion--step up to protect the health and dignity of their frontline workers. This isn't just about comfort. It's about safety. Requiring employees to work nonstop in extreme heat--especially outdoor cart attendants, seasonal garden staff, and warehouse workers without proper ventilation--is a recipe for heat exhaustion, dehydration, and burnout. These aren't rare events. These are predictable outcomes of ignoring basic human limits. Heat exhaustion is no joke. It can become life-threatening. And when workers are pushed to perform in brutal conditions without adequate breaks, cooling stations, hydration, or indoor rotations, productivity doesn't rise--it collapses. Because the human body is not a machine. Because people are not slaves. If you want your workers to show up, care about the job, and stay safe, then please show that same care in return. Offer shaded areas, air-conditioned rest zones, frequent water breaks, and realistic pacing during heat events. Your workforce deserves more than just expectations--they deserve respect. okay i used to work at this crap store, first off the managment is half dead and demented, second off this store pays shit so does the company, i mean comeone i was getting paid 8.75 for unloading a truck and doing 3rd shift stuff like stocking, with some mean black bitch named elaina on your ass every 2 minutes because she didnt have her damn nicotine, i mean the bitch fired a friend of mines for being 2 minutes late to work. this store is so dirty, the backroom let alone the floor is barely EVER slept only when they get annoying on the intercom for the janitor to come. overnight nobody knows what their doing everybody is in their own little bubble, this store is unorganized and needs to be taken into hands of someone who has business in managing a big store not some smurf who cares about how much money he makes or how much his bonus is going to be. plus they hire half the black population of the southside of the city, why do you guys think your getting all that attitude when you go in there.. read more

Walmart and GE money bank have taken advantage of me. I bought a TV 3 months ago and opened store credit and got a promotion to pay the amount in 12 months without interest and then after excatly three months have finished of the payment they told me that I'm not eligible to the promotion and when I asked to return the TV back they told that I can't do that coz it passed 90 days and the only soultion that I have got are to pay the balance full amount or ccept the interest. One of the worst store I ever had!!!!!!!!!! parking: you might hard to find parking area. They are always many people inside and outside. Also if you have a nice car, you must park your car far as you can. service: they one star product: you must check before you but the product, because people mess up. I got car wiper but there was different product inside. It might someone opened already and put randomly. Most annoying thing is that they do not care if you have car accident in front of walmart they do not care. Even your insurance company want just copy of video file to prove that someone hit your car, they do not provide. read more

This Walmart is so poorly serviced. Staff deliberately does not answer phones. I kept calling the Electronic Department and even to speak with an Associate. Both departments ignored calls. I went in to personally see why no one was answering the phones. Employees were on their phones ignoring the calls and even turned the phone ringing volume down. The most distinctive feature I noticed is that their grocery department is huge and at least 2-3 times larger than in most other Targets. I'm not sure why that is, but the customer base here must support it. Due to traffic from the Costco warehouse as well as their gas station, it's usually a bit of a cluster to leave the area. Nonetheless, it's in a handy location particularly when one might be doing dual Costco and Target runs.

There were also featured and caps on some of the aisles showcasing their seasonal foods. I was thrilled to get the last Heritage grain sourdough bread, and it's great that we can now use the automatic slicer ourselves. Amazon prime members get extra discounts off of the sale prices so I wait until my favorite items are on sale and then get a good deal on them. However, I came in on this day to try their Friday promo of 12 raw oysters for $12. You do need to have an Amazon Prime account to get the deal. I heard about this deal from a neighbor pal who is a big fan and oyster lover. I would say it was an ok deal, and I'm going with 3.49 stars, as the oysters are all on the smallish side. They're regularly priced at $1.99 apiece, and for comparison if you have them say at Shaw's, they go for $4 apiece there fyi. You can't really enjoy them in their dining space though unless you want to buy lemons and/or cocktail sauce, as none is provided, so we did a carryout which is apparently the most common approach. Carryout is fine as they are iced and as long as you eat them within 2 hours. They had 3 types of oysters and they are the typical offerings year round we were told - Atlantic Blue Point, Rappahannock Atlantic, and Atlantic Wellfleet. I queried a bit with Terry, one of the two seafood staffers on duty, and he told me Blue Points were the most popular and Rappahannocks were the biggest. I don't know anything about the multitude of oyster varieties, but I do like the idea of getting the biggest for the buck as they all taste pretty much the same to me. I also noticed they were only about 1/4 to 1/3 the size of the big oysters we get in a Chinatown restaurant(!), duh, but that's an aside. Anyway we ordered 6 Blue Points and 6 Rappahannocks. They made for a nice lunch side at home and a nice little foodie treat. The two varieties tasted very similar but the Rappahannocks might have been a little fishier tasting. Kyle was the staffer who did the shucking (and Terry said he was the best shucker in all of Park Ridge!), and he indeed did a masterful and excellent job as you couldn't even tell they were shucked as the shells were carefully reassembled so beautifully. I actually raised my rating by 1/2 star just because of Kyle's fine work ha. It was all fun, but probably still a one and done on the promo unless I find out they are going to bigger oyster varieties some day!
