Formerly I'd consider this store above average. With my most recent experience, I give it 1 star. I purchased a gift card which the cashier took my cash but didn't load the card. The support team, led by Yanis, has treated me like a criminal now. Perhaps this is the most recent scam? I only come here for ammo and gun cleaning supplies because you really can't beat the prices here. I've gone to a lot of gun stores in the area and they can't even compete with Walmart. Yes I do love to support the mom and pops but at the same time, I need to protect my wallet. For some reason you can't buy ammo after 10 pm at this location which I thought was very strange. I would give zero stars if I could. I stood in the tool aisle for 30 mins ringing the help button every 5 mins. No one ever came. I walked around looking for an associate and there were none to be found. Finally after waiting and wasting my time I left and as I walked out looked for an associate who could help, not one to be found anywhere except the 3 check out people working the cash registers. On a Saturday after noon I would expect there to be more workers on the floor. Why have "help" buttons if no one is ever going to help? Waste of time and energy. on October 5, 2023, I purchased some Apple gift cards, Walmart store on Marron Road in Oceanside. On October 24 I went to use these cards that I purchased and were told they were invalid through my Apple ID. I tried several times to scan them and noticed the numbers appeared odd. I then realized that two of the numbers on the code had been removed. Therefore, the card was altered by some of the various individuals. I spoke to Apple, and they encourage me to go see the management at Walmart, and explain the circumstances I will say I bought the cards in good faith for the face value of the apple cards. I was then told by the acting manager that it was not their responsibility without mincing words. She basically told me even if I bought them in good faith, it is their policy that they aren't going to do anything to reimburse my money or basically catch a nefarious person who altered the cards. she said it was their store policy. She did make me copies of my receipt. again stating it's not Walmart's responsibility to honor the gift card even if they took the money for the purchase of them. It is the responsibility of Apple or the third-party supplier. Without continuing to tell my story I would say do not buy any gift cards from Walmart for they do not honor if the card has been altered, damaged or destroyed or a criminal has taken the card and pre-used it put it back up for sale. although it was very suspicious how the clerk scanned the card They basically told me to go pound sand I did find out after calling Walmart corporate that the person it was only the day manager and not the actual manager. I do plan to go and speak with the actual manager. In the interim I am working with Apple to discover the source of the fraudulent and altered gift cards. I WOULD BE VERY CONCERNED ABOUT BUYING A GIFT CARD THAT IS BEING SOLD AT WALMART. read more

Six calls, I half hour hold time on the phone, and four transfers that lead to only ringing for over three minutes..When I finally did get a hold of somebody they were so short with me. Management needs to 'rethink' all this newly implemented 'security checks' like the 'walling off of beauty products and the checker, checking your receipt on the way out. Ridiculous methods to try and curtail theft. Unless you ask the shopper to take all the items out of their baskets and the checker checks them off against their receipt, that process is useless! And the beauty products 'walling off issue, just lame! And I once suggested to a manager that they limit the number of items that are allowed thru 'self check' to like 15 (like they do for express check outs) and she said 'oh no we aren't allowed to do that' WHAT! You do it for express!!! This is one area where ALOT of theft can occur as there's no room to take everything out of the huge baskets of groceries that they allow to go thru here....so some items get scanned and some do not and they go right out the door! C'mon people - figure this out intelligently! read more

Walmart's a go-to when I need to get a variety of stuff and don't want to stop at several stores to get it. Plus the grocery section, while sometimes lacking the variety supermarkets will have, usually is better priced so again, it's definitely a go to place for general shopping. As other reviewers have already noted, there are items that are locked up where you have to press a button to have an employee unlock it for you. Not a fan of that but for shaving items, the price here is hard to beat so I guess there's that. DVDs are a mixed lot with some that are locked up and not that easy to see in a case if you are on the taller side so for me, if I really want a DVD (and that's rare), I'll go elsewhere. Otherwise, the only other thing of note is that if you enter the main entrance of the store and don't like the smell of cigarettes, enter the right side. The left side near the hill nearly always has someone smoking, be it an employee, a homeless person or just your normal "people of Walmart" type of person; point is if you don't want that 2nd hand inhaling experience, skip entering on the left side. read more

Worst ever. Went in to buy groceries. Started toward a line but saw the cashier coughing and blowing her nose on tissue and then laying the tissue on the conveyer belt. Second time I have gone to the pharmacist, dropped my prescription off and was told "yes we will have your full prescription ready in 30 minutes" by an older blonde woman. Every single time I have come back after 40 minutes to see a different pharmacist tell me they are not done filling it, but also are out of stock of my prescription. WTF?!?!?! Now I have wasted an hour of my time waiting for s prescription that I can't even get and have to go to a different pharmacist and wait an extra hour. I have things to do, I have assignments I need to complete before work and now I've wasted 2 hours I could have been working driving around to find an actually competent pharmacist which seems like finding a needle in a haystack in Oceanside! Walmart carries your everyday essentials for cheap prices. Usually there is someone in the front entrance to greet you by saying "Welcome to Walmart". There service deli section carries meats/cheeses you can have sliced by the clerk working the department. They also carry hot foods such as hot dogs, tater tots, fries, chicken nuggets etc. I believe each night is different. I haven't ordered anything from the deli however every time I go everything in the case looks dry, or burnt not really appetizing for me. I've purchased some fruits and veggies here and I've been disappointed in the quality and it didn't seem fresh compared to Albertson's and Costco. The Bakery department is pretty basic-cookies, pies, store made birthday cakes etc. If your craving something sweet you should purchase it else where. I only come here when I really need to grab something as the parking lot is always packed, carts are always left by cars, solicitor's are always by the front door, and there seems to be a long line just to purchase a few items. read more

I have nothing against Walmart, but this particular store always bothers me. The checkout lines are always very long and very slow and they almost always only have maybe 3-4 registers open. Now, what set me over the top was that my boyfriend and I went shopping and picked out some sodas (Fanta mango) we took it home I was putting it away and noticed a return receipt on it.. Written on this receipt says "did not meet expectation..TASTE NASTY." I look at the top of the bottle it's freaking open.. So I purchased a bottle of soda that was already opened by someone else. Staffers were friendly for the most part, though no one seemed to go out of their way to see if they could help me find anything with my craning neck and puzzled look. We waited almost 30 min in the pick up spot only to see 5 other cars come and go. we called a second time and 10 min later they brought one item! They took another 10 min to get 3more items. Half the order was missing and we had to go side to buy water!! WTF!! All the employees are clueless and we are still missing over $40 worth of merchandise that we paid for and never got. This Walmart is the single worst Walmart I've ever been to. It's always crowded, employees are rarely all wearing their masks properly, and because everything is locked up for some reason it takes me hours to get what I need. Multiple times I've waited 20+ minutes (and then LEFT) for someone to come unlock the cabinet for shaving cream; not razors, the actual shaving cream is locked up too. Walmart overall is not known for their customer service, but rather for low prices & that is exactly what you get. Their customer service is,practically non-existent and employees act like you are bugging them just by asking where something is located. The one on College is particularly terrible - make sure you carefully look,at all of your produce & make sure you check expiration dates, because they DO NOT!! And watch out for price matching because their policy has loopholes. If you're xmas shopping, go elsewhere. read more

I just want to say how clean and well stocked this Walmart is! The hand sanitizer and sanitation wipes were available at entrance. I was very impressed and I really enjoy the smaller store size. I had to download this app just to write this review and my frustration I've had with this Walmart location. I went in their on Tuesday wanting to buy a laptop that was on display and one of the workers writes my name and number down so when they factory reset I can buy it. Told I will get call following day. And never did. Called them and said their working on it you should get a call tomorrow. Didn't get a call back again. I go in to ask what's up with it and the same guy who wrote my name down. Says come back tomorrow in the morning to speak with the department manager. So I come back next morning the manager isn't even their. And I find out the person who wrote my name down never gave the manager the paper so they already sold 1 out of the 3 laptops and people are ahead of me for the other two. I went in their today as soon as it Opened up. The manager was late first of all. And when I tell him what's been happening this whole week all he tells me he goes by the paper and your second in line. When I should have been first since the beginning of the week. His co-worker never gave him my name so I won't be able to purchase the laptop. Department manager I felt like was rude to me and didn't understand where I was coming from. I asked if he could check with the first guy I met so he can tell him I was the first person to give my name for the laptop. He says I'm not giving you anyones number even tho I never asked for it. Says I'm not calling him this early on a Sunday. Worst experience ever. Spend $600 every month at Walmart for groceries and other essentialls. Will definitely stop after this experience and take my business else where they have their stuff together with better customer service. read more

I wouldn't normally leave a review for a Walmart seeing as most are the same but today I was blown away by the kindness and enthusiasm one particular employee had here. Tony, who was manning the garden center today was so cheerful and helpful. I needed a cart and he went out of his way to go fetch me one from the parking lot and reminded me to wipe it down with one of the purell wipes to help prevent the flu. It's days like these where I am reminded that a simple act of kindness can go very far! I hope Tony gets the recognition he deserves bravo! read more

This review is for the photo center! An Employee named Brian helps us on 8-2-2016 (evening). My mom wanted to go to CVS to print pictures. I talked her into trying Walmart. We we're there for while trying to figure out how to get the phones to connect to the Kiosk simply because they were old phones with old processors. Brian was so nice to us. He knew what he was doing and was very helpful. He was honest and sincerely wanted the best for us. This beats going to CVS with RUDE Customer Service and old machines! I ordered tall patio chairs through Walmart. Took me about an hour to put them together, but I was happy with my product. Unfortunately, the first night I got the chairs I sat in it and the seat pulled out of frame of the chair making it unusable. I tried to return the chairs and was told I had to re box the chairs that took me an hour to put together and then they would take them. I had thrown the box away when I put them together so I didn't have the box anymore. They then told me to buy another box, repackage the faulty item, then they would give me my refund. Are you kidding me?!?! That's not how customer service works! I paid for an item and it was faulty, after waiting a week for it, then brought it to the store, that means you make it right!! I would have accepted new chairs, a store credit or my money back! You have lost a customer for life, never shopping at Walmart again, I'll go to Target. It's shameful that a company that makes what this company makes, could be so petty! It's not about the money, it's about all the time I lost trying to get this fixed. read more

A good store to go to if you want to shop for multiple items in different categories from food to stationary to cooking utensils etc. The store is well lit and items are easy to find. Staff are very courteous and know where their stock is located. Prices are fair and opening hours are suitable for people working different shifts. Will politely accept all returns and give your money back. I also managed to get my lunch there of Mac and cheese. All in all a great store and great shopping experience. read more
