My husband & I went into this store on Christmas Eve & it was pretty hectic as expected. With that said, the associates did a great job keeping the store organized & clean. We needed help finding backpacks for our nephew's and we were helped by Michael. I was astonished with how many customers knew/greeted him, & his positivity during one of the busiest days of the year. He was so friendly & helpful! I also witnessed him being very encouraging to his fellow employees who were clearly exhausted from the intense day they were having. Walmart, he deserves a promotion! Saturday afternoon. 1 checkout open. No joke. 15+ people in line. Someone paying with WIC holding up the line because they owe her $1. Tons of employees walking around, but nobody helps. Employees talking and throwing freight, but not getting on registers. Cashiers saying "I'm close to being off" and walking away. I take my cart of 100 items to self checkout, where I am pissed off and frustrated and having to fit it all on a little platform while it keeps calling for assistance because of the weight. I hate this place, and will be spending my money at Target where I can actually get help. read more

By far the worst walmart I've had to shop in. Never stock the shelves (like ever), rude cashiers, incompetent customer service/service desk employees. Just a horrible shopping experience every time! Although it is convenient, because it is right off the highway, this was an awful Walmart. Their selection was scant, and many shelves were empty. At 5PM, the shelves should be better stocked. I was able to get out of the store quickly, because of the efficient staff, but this is a bummer of a store. read more

I've had horrible experiences here time after time. The first time, I bought three things, ALL THREE WERE BROKEN. The second time, I bought a phone card and the cashier "forgot" to give it to me with my other items (And a manager I spoke to even said that she thought it was on purpose). The third time, the cashier didn't give me my ID back and then LOST it. Honestly, I don't know why I ever went back after the FIRST time. If it weren't for three out of the four managers that I dealt with thru all of this, I wouldn't have anything at all decent to say about the place, THEY were great. But nonetheless, this is by far, the worst Walmart I've ever been to. read more

Oroville Wal-Mart. Our store is closed from midnight to 6 am. You would think this is when they would be restocking shelves. No, they start at 4am come in read a list of the things they need to restock then they start after the store is open. I went in at 6:20 today June 1, 2018 very busy day. Needed to get frozen dinners. I'm 72 so I do eat a lot of this kind of food. The section hadn't even seen an employee. All the favorite dinners were gone. This store used to be open 24/7 when it wasn't a super store. When you went in at 4am they were stocking the whole store. I know because I like to shop solo. Totally different from New Super store. I can't imagine trying to shop at 10 am today. I feel for the people who do. This is a really busy store. I know they have a new manager. Get your head out of the broom closet and get these people on the floor restocking before you open your doors. I can never find anything I enter your doors to buy, so I left without buying 60% of the things I needed to buy. I will not go in the middle of the day when they are restocking and you can't get down the isle. Someone needs to step on the managers toes, he/she is doing a terrible job. I will travel to Marysville store from now on, they have a manager that knows how to run a superstore. read more

I agree that this is not the place to go on the first of the month! That's not really Walmart's fault, though. Plans are in place for a new Walmart to be built in Oroville. This store is too small and the isles are very narrow. Surprised there's not a fire code problem. Can't wait for the new store! read more

absolutly the slowest customer service I have ever had. I would reather drive from oroville to chico to get the items I need. This store has so much product that is sitting in the middle of the aisle that its not even funny. cashing out at walmart in a joke. during peak times of the day there are ofter only 2-3 cashiers tops with lines 10-15 people deep. at any other store they would pull people for customer service yet at the oroville walmart the employees stand back and watch instead of cashing poeple out. the cashiers are some of the slowest in the country. all and all one of the worst places to shop in the world. read more

I went this morning and spent $220. I tried to hand the cashier (Maria) my bags but she waved me through and said you can do it. I ended up bagging all of my items and then lifting them into the cart. The final straw was when she pushed the case of Pepsi at me to load and I said that's to heavy, you need to load it. I'm 70 years old and should not have to do her job for her. Very poor customer service. I did speak to a supervisor as I left so hopefully they'll speak to her. I know I'll never get in her line again. read more

I'm a 28 year Oroville resident and we've been waiting a very long time for this Supercenter to finally open(not Walmart's fault). I have a Ph.D. in business and have managed a number of start up companies successfully. I noticed the old Walmart store was increasing prices about 20% during the 8 weeks building up to the opening of the new Supercenter. I expected prices upon the new opening to be cut about 15% for the opening to pretend to the public that prices were going to be better at the new location. Instead, prices seem to have been increased another 20% of so. We have three other markets in Oroville. Raleys is not really a competitor since it has very high quality generally but at insanely high prices(often as much as 400% above the only local discount market(Winco--27 miles away in Chico). We also have Food Max and Grocery Outlet. I fully expected Walmart Supercenter to price Food Max out of business undercutting them. I did not expect Grocery Outlet to be much effected but the feature close out discounted items largely and are fun to shop and explore since their products are often changed. I was wrong about that. As an example, a gallon of whole milk at Walmart is now $3.75. $3.10 at Food Max and $2.90 at GO. Food Max is also MUCH less expensive than Walmart for fruit and veggies and has better selection. Further, the new store is MUCH too large to be a pleasant buying experience. If you are standing at one side of the store, you can't actually see the other side indoors. My wife now refuses to even go in the store. I too, like other reviewers, have found terrible problems at checkout. On my list visit, the cashier charged the wrong amount for one item nd and needed the authorization of a supervisor to correct the overring. The problem was that NO supervisor was on duty at the time and I had to wait for 5 minutes at the register for one to finally show up. Also, if you want to try to find canned fruit in the store---good luck! It is NOT listing as being on ANY isle!!!!! But my main complaint has to do with fraudulent labeling of products. For example, In the meat department, this store is selling some pork products of the Smithfield company. These are prominently labeled a product of USA. Nope!!!! Although Smithfield is an old American name, the company is not Chinese owned. I don't care where the product might be made by a Chinese company. I just don't want it labeled as an American product when it isn't. I know Walmart sells products made all over the world. I don't care about that. That's good business. But don't try to sell a product to customers who want to encourage American companies by buying their products when the company is really Chinese. And yes, I have complained to the management of this store twice about this and the products have NOT been removed or signs posted at the products about this "mistake in labeling". read more

Not a big walmart fan. Sure the everyday necesities are cheaper than the grocery store but is it worth the hassle? Long lines, poor service and very crowded with merchandise in the main isles. Now if you venture past the necesities then your in real trouble. Everything in the store is cheap china junk. I'm sorry that the way other people look, and that their lifestyle choices are not as awesome as the people in the other reviews. But a little kindness and commenting on the service of the place and the cleanliness (or lack there of) are the only real things I look for on these reviews, or maybe how the food tastes if it is a restaurant. It sounds as though no one was threatened and that the service was generally good. Obviously they should not have stocked something that was recalled, but at least there were things in place to keep people from getting them, or maybe they were thinking they like your Coach bag and fedora and wishing they had a store around there where they could get one. Try kindness, it is amazing how far it will get you instead of judging others, it will save you a lot of time and effort. Wouldn't you want the same consideration? read more

I give them -1 review. I am happy to see that we finally have a super walmart in Oroville. However I am very disappoint with all the new hires. I had a horrible time at walmart. All the employees were very rude. When I went to the money center to send Moneygram, there was no line, the two wmployee just continue talking about their personal problems and ignore me. I had to excuse myself for them to stop talking and send my moneygram. Then I went to search for carpet cleaners since everything is not at the same place. Rude employees try to run as if they are ignoring the customers. At the end we went to the new arcade walmart has set up. Well, if you only have bills and no quarters, you're in bad luck, because their brand new coin change machine isn't working. When we went to the register to change bills for coins, the cashier gave us attitude and told us to get it from the machine! Well, if your machine was working then I wouldn't be standing here asking for change would I?? I also told an employee on the way out that the machine wasn't working, however he has 0% interest in what I've said! I may live in oroville, but I will be doing my shopping at the Chico's walmart supercenter instead. They treat me like a customer! They derserve my money not Oroville! Its products and all are amazing. unfortunately, the employees aren't much of a help. So far, this new build Walmart's employees doesn't put on a smile and direct you to the product you're looking for when ask. They point fingers to a different person after another for you to go to. I've been there multiple times and yet two out of fifty workers is ultra helpful. Also, the worst area is obviously the cashier's section. Many register open but yet so slow. It is a reason why the self-checkout is much of a use but sadly, the person whose position at the self-checkout area doesn't help customer well. Many of elders aren't familiar with technology and also hates waiting in line for a register decided to go for self-checkout and gets accuse of not completing the transaction. Furthermore, not only being accuse by the employee, the self-checkout makes the situation more worse, especially pointing out nonsense errors that is ridiculously annoying. For example, "Unexpected item in bagging area." Please do improve. read more
