This location, and every other Walmart location I have been to in north Dallas/Carrollton/Plano are doing very poor at enforcing social distancing requirements, and are not requiring their employees or customers to wear masks. I will severely restrict my visits to any Walmart location through the month of May to only those instances where what I need is only available there. Walmart is the lowest of the lowest common denominators when it comes to stores, so I should not be surprised. Went here to get my car battery charged and waited two hours to find out they replaced my battery unnecessarily, after I told them I did not want a replacement. They knew it didn't need replacing too because they showed me when they tested it it was showing 408/500. I felt like they were trying to scam me. Very unfriendly staff also. I asked twice when my car would be ready and they just starred at me blankly like I was doing them a disservice to ask. Will never come back to this location. The one off Ohio is great so I'm extremely disappointed. read more

I wish I could give it negative stars. It used to be good but the last six months.....TERRIBLE. I've bought expired food several times. And I mean beyond like a year past the expiration! The milk is often sour and bad. I bought sour cream that had been opened. Then today I bought ricotta that was opened and mixed with god knows what. I sent emails to corporate about many of these issues and more. No one ever got back to me. Wasted hundreds of dollars when food is already expensive as is. Todays disgusting ricotta tipped me over the edge. Never shopping here again. read more

Just did a delivery and got a text saying it would be here at 5:24, tracked location and seen the driver was inside of my parking lot at my apartments. Checked again 5 minutes later and it said I wouldn't be getting my delivery at all anymore and now NO ONE is answering any calls and the department that delivers said they close at 5 so they cannot help me. Will not be ordering with them anymore, this has NEVER happened when i order through Target or Kroger so from now on I'll stick with the reliable sources... read more

This particular location is like the anti-Wal-Mart. It's always clean, they have a pretty decent wine and beer selection, and their produce section is impressive for a superstore. It could be the part of town it's in, but it seems to be visited by people wanting to get in and out of there, making it quick stop worthy as well. I always hate walking into a Wal-Mart for something quick and having to fight through the zoo just to buy a couple of things. This hasn't happened yet at this particular location. What I wanna know is where was all the yelpy goodness when I finally decided to try this Walmart? I needed two things: a weed eater and a rake. I walked into the garden center and the "greeters" were sitting on a bench near the door and did not acknowledge my presence. So much for the "greeting". But hey....it's Walmart...I tried not to expect too much. I found the rakes, but desired weed eater was up on a shelf thirty feet in the air. I walked around looking for help. Hellooooo? Is this thing on? Not one employee in sight. I could have walked out with a bevy of rakes and no one would have even noticed. Ahhhh....here comes someone. And..... there he keeps going, despite my asking if he could help. No acknowledgement, but I knew he saw me because he made eye contact and then looked away (WTF, did I have a booger on my face or something?). Needless to say, I finally gave up after another ten minutes of searching for assistance, not only the garden center, but inside the store as well. And wouldn't you know it....as I stalked out the garden center entrance, standing outside were the two greeters getting their smoke on. Buh-Bye Walmart. We shall not meet again. read more

This is the best Wal-Mart in existence. Regardless of your feelings about their corporate philosophy, this Wal-Mart is the best setup, and usually the least "poor feeling" I hate to see it. It's in Plano, they wouldn't let it go to shit. It got national media attention for a while for being such a unique step for the company. It's the only one like it in the country, so check it out. Their beer selection is pretty impressive considering it's a Wal-Mart. The best part? Fewer screaming babies! read more

This place is a joke. Me and my girlfriend walk to the exit of home living and are greeted by 3 greeters (Cletus, Roscoe P. Coltrain, and Barney Fife) asking for our receipt which we provided. Another female customer walks right beside of us with 3 beach bag size bags full of merchandise. Only until the female customer was about 15 ft outside in the parking lot, she was asked to stop which she continued to walk away until she disappeared. As some of the other reviews have intimated, this is a WalMart like no other. Literally. It is a "one of one" concept store, and at the time it was built, corporate had no plans to build other ones like it. While it's still easily recognizable as a WalMart, it does have subtly nicer fixtures, lighting and other elements that make it just a cut above. At the time it was built, it was the only one in the area that I was aware of that had those cool polished concrete floors, but as the other WalMarts in the area were redecorated, I've seen that this feature of what I call the "hoity-toity WalMart" has been carried over to many of those remodels, and I think it serves the stores much better than the old, tired and dated looking linoleum squares. I'm pretty sure this store also debuted the use of overhead "spotlights" for the produce areas, which have again been copied in other WalMarts during remodels. But back to this location. It's arranged in the "food on the right, pharmacy just to the left, everything else farther left" arrangement, which is really good if you're just needing some wine and/or beer to give you a headache and some ibuprofen to help with the aftermath in the morning. The produce area is usually kept cleaner than most WalMarts, and is well lit and inviting. In the front of the store, on the corner as you come in towards grocery, is a little "pod" that's already been several things since the store opened, but at the time of my visit, it was a little miniature large appliance shop, something I've never seen in a WalMart. Refrigerators, washers and dryers, etc. were all on display, at seemingly good prices. Interesting. As for the rest of the store, not a whole lot to say other than it is clearly geared towards the more upscale clientele of this area, near where some of the richest suburbanites live. Clean, wide aisles, more brand name products and less of the "Great Value" brands, and generally a nice shopping experience. Check it out! read more

Completely Frustrating. Saturday... while looking for items to make the Punch and having dipping items for the Chocolate Fountain and Jenn's shower... I noticed Target didn't have the right type of pineapple sherbet that I needed for the punch. So... I just decided to go to Wal Mart across the street on Sunday before the shower. I was also going to wait until then to get the pineapple and strawberries so they would be as fresh as can be. Sunday. I walk into this Wal Mart location. I find Kiwis, I find Pineapple, heck, I even find the right Pineapple Sherbet. But Lord have Mercy. They did not have one single solitary Strawberry ANYWHERE in the entire darn store. So, I still ended up having to go back to Target to get them. UGH. read more

There is Ghetto wal-mart by our apartment, and then there is Hipster wal-mart, which is a 10minute drive but we go there when we want to enjoy shopping. This review is for the latter. This IS a very good wal-mart, very clean and not really busy, but the main reason I am reviewing is because this is where I take my '98 VW to get its oil changed. Tons of places give me the "oh, sorry, we don't carry that filter, you have to go to your dealer" line because the oil filter is a little bit harder to get to than other cars, but the lady who works here never gives me a hassle about it and the guys always do a good job and even vacuum my car. Even when they say the wait is long/over an hour, they still get it back to me pretty quickly and it is convenient to just shop while they work on it. I am disappointed to be moving from Dallas and this place to get my oil done. Plus, the change is only $30 or so whereas most places try and charge me $50. I will miss you, Hipster Walmart! I hate Wal Mart...like really really really hate it. Especially if shopping for something that's going to require employee assistance. In fact, if I'm going to need help, I REFUSE to go to wal mart. Not this one, though. It's usually fairly quiet, VERY clean, and (gasp) some of the employees here are actually nice! I had to get some cheap paint (which requires employee assistance). Uh oh. I had a pleasant experience here, though. I was able to find an employee to mix my paint, and he was very nice and actually knew a little bit about paint! I still won't buy produce or meat here - but if you need to go to Wally World and want to have a decent experience, pick this one. The lines usually aren't very long when it's time to check out. They have a really nice wine section as well :-) but I wouldn't know anything about that. Well, maybe a little, ha ha. read more

Horrible store experience. Tried to use the 1hour photo lab yesterday at 7pm it would not work. It stated I could pick up my 2 photos the next day at 10am. I returned at 5pm the following day, however the pictures still were not ready. The associate could not find them. After waiting an additional 35 min I had to reprint the photos. 1 photo printed twice which gave me 3 large photos. The associated charged me an additional $9.00, I stated should that not just be an additional photo since it all had to be reprinted & they were not ready when walmart stated they would be. The associate said since I didn't want to pay for the extra print its going in the trash. I stated would it not be more environmentally friendly just to give it to me so I may use it for something rather than just trashing it. The kid stated no you didn't pay for it so I'm trashing it. That seems wasteful to me & that my extra time, politeness & patience is worth nothing to them. Horrible customer service. read more

Just went to get an Oil Change today at this Walmart, and I was not pleased. The Walmart employee that was checking me in for service was very rude! She (who actually was one of two managers that were working there that day) was asking me about my car, which I knew enough about to get an oil change (which isn't that hard) but continued to make me feel & look stupid about simple questions she asked. She was very rude and disrespectful. Then on my way out, another kinder young man checked my service out; and you can hear the manager (who was previously rude), talk to another employee out loud about me...." Oh that's so n so (using my name)" I thought the was very childish, and immature for an older women to be rude and talk about me. Nonetheless to say, I walked in and even gave her a compliment, and did not show any hostility towards her! I was completely lost in the store trying to find items and a very kind employee by the name of Bridget Wilson was nice enough to guide me to every item I needed despite the amount of time I had taken from her. She helped with a smile on her face the entire time and didn't make me feel like I was burden for taking her time. Very very nice customer service. By far the best Walmart I've ever been to. Feels like a luxury Walmart- looks very nice inside, clean, organized, excellent beer and wine options, etc The staff at the Pharmacy is always very courteous, helpful, and knowledgable. I've also gotten my tires and oil changed here and have no complaints. Great location! read more

I'm so sick and tired of coming here and there being two lines open and tons of customers. I spend hundreds of dollars a week here for work. And I'm over it. They finally get more cashiers up front and I feel like an inconvenience. I literally have an over flowing cart every week. Today it was " Get Your card ma'am. Get your card ma'am." Hello I'm trying to move bags and unload the cart onto the conveyor belt at the same time. Be patient with me. It's not like I give anyone a hard time when they forget to push whatever button it is they need to push so I can put my pin in. Because that happens all the time. Week 2 of atrocious service at grocery pickup at the Walmart on 1700 Dallas Pkwy, Plano, TX. Last week I waited OVER AN HOUR for less than $50 worth of items, this week I waited over 50 minutes for less than $80. Last week it was a computer glitch and poor customer service, this week it was poor customer service and poor scheduling on the part of management. The Story - Last week an item I ordered was unavailable, and after I was finally able to catch one of the two Associates, she said they were waiting for the computer to accept the missing item and allow them to give my order to me so I could sign for it. SERIOUSLY?? Does this sound like the best solution; allow a customer to wait an hour while a computer glitch attempts to rectify itself ... so I can sign for it? As I was trying to explain to her that I had been there an hour and that many others came and went, she repeatedly spoke over me before storming off. Hmm. After a few more minutes I closed my trunk and left without my order. I called Corporate to get a refund and Gabby at Customer Service told me she would give me $15 for my inconvenience. Incidentally, that $15 never showed up in my Inbox or anywhere else. Anyway ... I gave them another chance this week, assuming it was just poor judgement on the part of the two women working that day. Fool me once ... THIS week was a similar situation, no computer glitch, but only two women working. I was patient the first 20 minutes, then another 5-10 minutes of no one coming out of the store. Finally other Associates showed up and orders starting coming out. Unfortunately, those leaving with their items had pulled in AFTER me, and some a good 30 minutes after I did. This is my trigger. I finally got out of the car (which seems to be the only way to get someone's attention). Another 10 minutes and another three cars later, a sweet guy, who is always great (his name is Muf??? something, I wish I could remember his name) finally brought my order. By this time I was on hold waiting to speak with the Store Manager at the Plano store. I waited another six minutes for a younger guy to pick up the phone claiming to be the manager. He said, "You shoulda gone in the store and found a manager." I explained that that IS what I was doing, only by telephone, and that if it took him six minutes to pick up the phone, how much time would it have taken for me to find/wait for a manager inside the store! Does this make sense to you, because it certainly does not make sense to me. Needless to say, he was unhelpful and defensive, telling me what I should have done rather than expressing apology for my inconvenience. I asked for his manager, who coincidentally "is busy." I requested that he take my name and number, and I asked that his boss to call me. Before I hung up I asked the name of his boss, the most he would tell me is Diane. As you may have guessed, Diane did not call me back - neither did anyone else. Ordinarily I'm a positive person. Up until to these past two weeks, I have been delighted with the grocery pickup in Plano. Like I said, there is that one very sweet, "happy to serve you" guy who is always a joy (I hope they make HIM a manager, he seems to be the only person who shows appreciation to customers). Twice now the Walmart Associates were inattentive to me as a customer, and even speaking to a "manager," I am still frustrated. Adding to the fact that his "manager" failed to call me back, it becomes apparent that customer concerns are irrelevant; in fact, my summation is that this particular store's culture is customer loathing. The bottom line ... grocery pick up at this Plano store started off great, but now they are assigning fewer people, and those assigned do not have strong customer service qualities (with the exception of one). I suggest finding another Walmart ... or Kroger ... or better yet, Amazon as they delivery your order TO YOUR DOOR - THE SAME DAY - WITHIN A FEW HOURS. read more

The place was orderly and well-stocked, and I was happy the self-checkout worked without problems. It is my preferred Walmart of the several around where I live. read more

I'm not coming back to this location again. The Mgr Charisma is a nasty rude sarcastic person and shouldn't be running any location. She managed to waste my time yesterday about sale items. I hate that your store marks down items but refuses to give the customer the sale price. I took a picture of the display and everything and instead of looking at the evidence she walked off & went to look for the manager over the department then going to come back 20 minutes & say it's her decision and she won't make any money if she gives them to me as the sale display read. I'm super pissed bc she snarky and don't know how to talk to ppl. And it was all over $5 after I was in the process of spending $300 in her store as she calls it bc I purchased 2 bikes etc. well I hope that $5 was worth losing a customer bc I will never step foot in this dirty gloomy looking Walmart again. I should've put all my stuff back then she wouldn't have made a dime off me. But I had already stood in line for 40 mins before she started trying to be rude about $5 off some storage bins. I'm not asking for a favor or trying to get over it's y'all display that was set up like that & I even asked an associate that was setting it up was that the right price. She said yes. But when I explained this to rude ass Mgr. Charisma she looked at me like I had a reason to lie and just walked off with the bins in her hands. She didn't say give me one moment or anything. I never get a problem from other Walmart's if I see a sale item, if it's ringing up a different price they check the display and give it to me at that price. See the problem is that these uneducated managers they put in these positions probably bc no one else wants the job is that they act like they own the store but has no idea to run a business. She needs more training. Her customer service skills don't exist. I own 2 companies and need lots of items and shop almost daily but since my experience with her I would rather go to Target and pay a little bit more for better service than to deal with these ghetto Walmart people. And my family of 10 adults just moved down here. Even though this is their closest location I have told them not to shop here by any means necessary bc Charisma needs to make money so bad for Walmart but will be disrespectful in the process so let's make sure she doesn't make any money off us! read more

I visited the store the other day to pick up some printer ink and it turned out to be one of the most unnecessarily annoying experiences I've had at Walmart ever. First of all, I go to the electronics area where the printer ink is located only to find that they have printer ink behind a locked glass cabinet, really? So I start to hunt down an employee to ask them to unlock the case. I find someone and they say they don't have the key but they'll call someone over... that's where the BS began. So no one came and for the next 20 minutes I stood there hailing down passing by employees (about 7 total), none of them had keys, all of them said they are sending someone. Needless to say after 20 minutes I was irate that not only the entire electronics section had no employee servicing it, but the constant runaround that I was receiving by each employee that had zero desire to help me, had me going from 0 to 100. I ultimately left, went across the street to TARGET and found my printer ink (free to grab myself) without incident. I'm done with Walmart and their low class ways FOR LIFE.
