I rarely shop at this Walmart location because it's kind of out of my way but when I do find myself in the neighborhood, I pop in just to see what they have because as uniform as most Walmart inventory may be, not every store carry the same items at the same time. During this visit, I picked up some pork soup dumplings on sale (I love soup dumplings) and one of my guilty pleasures: frozen, pre-packaged White Castle sliders. We barely had any interaction with the employees except for the one lady who directed us to the self-checkout lane and even then our interaction was minimal; so, this shopping experience went off without a hitch; we came, we saw, we checko

I took my Mom to get a few things at Wal-Mart in Lemmon Valley and as you know how that goes, I also got a few things! We walked through the store gathering our items for our home, our animals and of course...new pj's, since Wal-Mart has the softest pj's ever!!! I just wanted to compliment our cashier LINDA on check stand 27. She had a kind personality and handled our new PJ's and merchandise we chose, with loving hands and care. She asked us if we wanted the hangers and we said yes! Thank you again Linda for caring about our treasures and having such a great personally in your job! Mom and I will see you again, next week...haha. Shopping!

Nice spring day with a tree blooming and pretty blue skies. Parking spaces reserved for law enforcement are something new for me to see.

Thankfully not all of the self service registers are closed off... There are a couple of rows closed at the ends of the aisles, but today a clerk guided me to a row of self serve registers that were open.

Great layout, amazing staff who are friendly and wanting to help you, but the problem with this particular store is the lack of care in ensuring that their store is stocked, ready, and clean for daily business. It's a shame that this store with its close knit community that it's supposed to serve is so broken, management doesn't even realize it's own faults. You can tell this store wasn't ready at 7am, noon, or 5pm like it should! If a Regional VP were to walk this store, heads would roll or at least, many many long hours spent fixing the issue. One other good plus, the personal shoppers are friendly and usually pretty accurate, too. If items aren't found, they use their autonomy to get what's closest, even if it costs a little more originally, you pay what you intended. That's customer service! This store is hit or miss. Today...huge miss Update - it's Monday, the madness of the holidays is over and look...diary is empty! Outs all over the store but these were highlights of just the larger eyesore in a very busy department. It's obvious that 7-Day Ordering is not happening or the telzon and UPC departments are not in sync as they should be. Solution? I could tell you but you would have to pay me to fix it for you and I know how having experience with the chain and associates inventory issues within a store that eats this one and Kietzke for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If this store is to remain successful, it needs to get a grip on the obvious.

This location is one of the best for grocery pickup. The stock is usually great and it's always a quick experience.

Keep in mind when you look at the photo of the poke bowl, today is June 27. They have expired food that they've already been notified about. Two days ago, we received a delivery of a Poké bowl with the same expiration date, which one of their employees picked to have delivered to a customer, in this case, me, then yesterday, my daughter bought one without looking at the expiration date, she shouldn't have to look at the expiration date, as long as she's eating it either the day she bought it or the next day, and when she went to eat it today, it expired on the 13th. If you don't feel like doing the math, that was two weeks ago. I guess that's my sign that Walmart poke Bowlz are just not in our future, or you may not have a future if you eat one from there! Want summer sandals for your kids? Too bad if you don't want flip-flops, unless you have a little girl. Good luck getting through the isles, because Walmart employees stop in the middle of the walkway and angle their carts so that nobody can get through while they shoot the breeze, not work related. A little hard not to hear. The corndog that I got was the last one in the case so I should've been leery, but I wasn't, I thought somebody actually did their job and made sure that they were OK, but it was so hard on the outside that I had to peel it off. Not crispy, hard! If I threw it at somebody's head, it would've knocked them out. My daughter's hotdog bun was dry and hard as well, and the popcorn chicken tasted like it had been there for over a day. This store needs some serious help, before somebody gets sick or worse! I am blind and I was about to eat the Poké bowl that had expired that was delivered to my house, and my daughter happen to see the date before I ate it. Walmart needs to realize that just because their employees aren't doing their job and getting rid of expired foods doesn't mean that all of their customers can read those labels! What would have made it worse is I have a compromised immune system.

I think I need to update my review from 14 years ago!!!!…read more I stand by my original post: How wonderful to have a real grocery store that specializes in local and organic products. Much of the produce is locally grown, or locally adjacent (AKA California) OK, Bananas do not grow in the Great Basin. The origin of the produce is identified. They work with local farmers, bakeries, and other local businesses for the food and non-food items. They no longer have the upstairs restaurant but they do have a kitchen and make ready to go items. I love picking up a fresh salad (some with meat some purely vegan/vegetarian) , a yummy very generously filled wrap, house made cookies and other delectable treats. They have a large selection of locally produced meats. Lots of organic canned goods, dairy and non-dairy items . . . the list goes on. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. Memberships are available (20$/year) with a once a month 10% off of your total purchase. You do NOT need a membership to shop here. It's small and a bit cramped but there is a lot of good stuff there. It's clean and friendly and completely locally owned.

So when lunch break came around I knew exactly where I was headed, Great Basin Co-op! I enjoyed a nice brisk walk in an autumn filled day. I really wanted their fresh spring rolls but they did not have those that day so I chose fresh rolled salmon made with wild caught salmon. It did not disappoint! Will I be back? Absolutely! So much fresh and organic choices! They also have plenty of seating indoor or outdoor. Thanks Great Basin Co-op!

Located directly off of S. Virginia St and adjacent to S. Meadows Pkwy in the southern part of Reno, this is one of three locations in the Reno metropolitan area (with the other two stores in north Reno and Sparks). The parking lot is actually quite spacious with ample room to get in and out to the main road. During my visit which was on Friday 7/3/2026 at around 1:30pm, it was fairly busy but the store itself had a great open layout. Those of you that don't know this about WinCo Foods is that they are a private employee-owned company. Prices are probably the best you will find anywhere other than Costco but here you won't get the massive crowds that Costco experiences on any given day. Keep in mind that WinCo only accepts cash, debit cards, and Apple Pay/Google Pay as they do not take credit cards of any kind. Also, you must bag your own groceries but this is their trademark to all of their locations in the western United States. I do want to add that since this is the state of Nevada, this WinCo actually has a small dedicated area (towards the front) where slot machines are available. This is great for those that want to avoid the hustle and bustle of going to an actual casino. In addition to that, they also have an area where alcohol is sold, a customer service area (where you can buy cigarettes, money orders, money transfers, payroll check cashing, and much more). Public restrooms are also available towards the front area of the supermarket. As for the store itself, much of the produce (fruit/veggies) was very fresh and well stocked. They also carry a huge assortment of bulk foods (nuts, rice, pasta, flour, candy, etc.). an amazing variety of meat & poultry, a dedicated bakery and deli section, and just about everything else you can think of. I find their selection to be much better than other big box grocery stores as this place always carries what I am looking for. Best of all, they are open 24 hours. When I made all my purchases, I went to the self check-out aisle (as they accept cash, debit, or tap-to-pay). The whole process was seamless and easy. All in all, the south Reno "WinCo Foods" gets a respectable four-star rating.

Not only was I able to find what I needed but also a few I didn't need but wanted. What really surprised me was the renovation going on. New freezers and refrigerators are being installed. I found myself out and about with just my son and and we both thought a char grilled kebab sounded like a fun dinner experiment. We popped in and found who were guessing is the owner's child at the register and placed our order for their signature kebab made from ground chicken and Afghani spices. The plate came with sumac spiked basmati rice, two pieces of the chicken kebab and a small green salad plus a green hot sauce. The kebab was tender and juicy with a great flavor profile and a nice bit of charcoal flavor. We thought the rice was actually exceptional light and fluffy with a hint of that citrus sea tang from the sumac, in a buttery finish, made this a nice light side to the kebab. The salad was fresh and crunchy with cucumber, lettuce, and bell peppers and that green hot sauce was really great and we used it as a dressing because the salad did not come with one. For $16 I just felt like the value was a bit often the plate needed at least one more piece of the kebab because when finished with a small tiny salad and the kebab, we were left with a mountain of rice and that is south wasteful. I just wish the plates here were a bit more valued oriented and I guess it will take more people eating here to kind of drive that up. Highly recommend giving it a try plus the market has some really fun fines too. Share your review and let me know what you think.
