This store just continues to get worse. I will admit, on the surface, its looking better with the remodel, but customer service continues to disappoint. And the bathrooms, good lord, truly frightening. I try to avoid using Walmart's bathrooms, but had no choice yesterday and I swear, I feel like I should go get tested for diphtheria or at the very least get a shot of penicillin or something. I managed Château theater and I know that even at your busiest, you can keep your bathrooms clean and looking presentable. It's pure laziness and store management should be ashamed. There is no excuse and it was not a one off thing, this is routinely the way Walmart's bathrooms look. Also, your shoppers (that are shopping for mobile orders) are SO rude. I have literally had them reach over me, block the aisles, and just about run me over while I'm shopping. All of this is a serious lack of training and honestly, a serious lack of effort on Walmart's part to provide a good shopping experience. Do better. read more

I remember walking into a store and customer service was one of the priorities of a company. Not a Walmart anymore. I have never written a review before, but here it goes. I needed help and instead I received a dirty look and on employee in broken English said he would help and never came back. I needed to find some medicine for my ill granddaughter and eventually went to the pharmacy to get help. They didn't have what I needed which is what it is, but I could have saved a lot of time and frustration is an employee gave a crap. The pharmacy lady was polite though. The funny thing is there was a older gentleman behind me with the same issues and not getting help. I/m done with Walmart!! I don't care how cheap stuff is. I'll pay more if someone will help you. I usually do not go to this Walmart grocery shopping because it is very dirty and very busy. I needed to go to Kohls for something, so I wanted to knock it all at once. Went in..found everything I needed-it was well stocked surprisingly. Checked out with everything in bags...except dog chow. Some employee runs up at me wanting to check my receipt and I dug in my pocket to oblige her. I accidentally give her my receipt from Kohls and she grabs my cart and knocks my phone out of my hand. Then demands I produce a Walmart receipt before I leave the store, doesnt apologize or help me pick up my phone or receipts. This Walmart sucks!!! Every time we travel it always seems like we've forgotten something. We are so thankful this Walmart was close to our hotel. Its nice to be able to purchase what we had forgotten without spending a fortune. This Walmart was bright and clean and things were easy to find. This was to date the best Walmart experience I have ever had. I was told that this is called Walmart south in Rochester MN. I was with my Mom and we were doing some hardcore shopping that day. We had 2 carts and were there for food and Christmas items. My Mother had a big old Walmart in Owatonna MN but we went to Rochester for a trip so here we are. This Wall mart was lay ed out so wonderfully, great site lines and access to the merchandise and displays open and easy get to the items you needed. I think it made the shopping experience so much better we bought more. When we hit the grocery items they were presented so well I was blown away as if I was in a Lunds or Byerly's. I am a fussy shopper on brand and quality so I was impressed. Ethnic food option was outstanding!! I would suggest this model to all Walmart's Oh one more thing the electronics area.... 5* had electronic items I had been looking for that I had not found in other places.... read more

My husband and I have been Straigjttalk customers for several years and the phone cards we need are only available at Walmart. We went to Walmart South November 2, 2019 to purchase our phone cards with debit card at the self checkout. The register kicked back one of the phone cards and face us cash back so the cashier assistant told us we would need to just get a different card back from electronics. We did that. We grabbed a different phone card. The employees at electronics were tied up with a slow register and told us to purchase it in the photo lab. We then went to the photo lab to buy the phone card with cash; Callie was the cashier. Well when we went to activate the card a few days later, we discovered that she never activated the card. We returned to Walmart South November 10th to exchange it. Long story short, we didn't have our receipt at the time. Matthew the service desk manager was willing to help us after he verified our purchase. We explained the saga.. Matthew agreed and stated how he knows sometimes that happens, that for some reason the cashiers or registers don't activate the phone cards. He consulted with Paula who was willing to help us just simply exchange the card. They couldn't figure out how to do it exactly so they called over Assistant manager Sara. We again told our saga of the inactive phone card. She told us she'd love to help us IF we had a receipt. We went to the car found our phone card receipt but it turned out was for the self check out refuser and the numbers didn't match. Still she told us she would work with us and "love" to help IF we had the photo lab receipt which we didn't have. My husband and I left and went hone and dug through the trash to find the exact receipt. Couldn't find it. Aha! We threw away some trash at the park a few days ago. We went to the park, dug in the bag of disposed of car trash and FOUND THE receipt. My husband called Walmart talked to Sara told her we're on our way back to Walmart but she told us not to. Sara asked for the time stamp. We gave her the time stamp and operator numbers. So we now have done everything Walmart South has asked for in order to get a phone card that works. Miraculously, We found both receipts. Sara the assistant GM decided she wanted to look at the video recording of us purchasing the phone card and verify by reviewing the video recording that Callie the photo lab cashier gave us the right phone card. An hour later we got a call from Sara who told us, after all that, after finding the receipts like she asked for, would not exchange the defective card for one that works because "the cashier at photo lab gave us the right one". Ughh. We spent $50 on a phone card that we cannot use because Walmart didn't activate it and Walmart decided they won't do anything about it after all. Should we quit shopping at Walmart or quit Straigjttalk, or both? That's the question. Frustrated. read more

Worst customer service at any Walmart ever. I understand Walmart is a popular and very busy place, but I have since boycotted the Walmart south store. After doing my monthly shopping trip for a family of eight I had some price discrepancy's while checking out, three carts full of groceries later they started going through every one of by bags looking for the over charged items while treating me rude and everyone looking at us like we stole something. Three managers later they didn't care about making it right with us, I asked for a total refund and left all three carts already bagged at check out, they turned a key in the register and voided the whole 643.00 sale instead of refunding me the 15.00 the over charged me, they lost the whole sale. Walmart South couldn't access anyone in their Hardware Department to let me know if they had any rechargeable batteries and cost. The auto service department is garbage. They quoted me 2.5 hours for a basic oil change due to being busy. I waited 3.5 hours for it to be done. While I was in the waiting room the staff Charles and another were talking about how I have such good patients because they would never wait that long. Came in with a friend to purchase an item that was being released this morning. The girl in the electronics department didn't have a clue on how to help us, and tried to shut us out right away. My friend had asked if there was a way that she could locate the item in their system, and she said she'd check. A couple minutes went by when she returned stating that they are supposed to be there, but she didn't know. My friend asked if she could scan the bar code or if there was someone else who could help us. There were 2 cars in front of me. But for $32 I got great customer service, oil change, filter, fluid top offs, battery and tire pressure checks... I recently began using the grocery pickup service because I am a handicapped senior citizen in a wheelchair and can no longer shop in the store itself. I HAVE NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS!!! I have been taking wheelchair transportation (which I have to pay for) the 30 miles there and the thirty miles back home only to have to wait anywhere from 20-45 minuted for them to bring out the order once I've called them to tell them I'm there - even if I call 10 minutes ahead. I've talked to the manager numerous times to no avail. The Walmart North store is SOOOOOO much better. The longest I've waited there is 5-6 minutes. The only problem is the north store has a smaller grocery department and doesn't carry many of the items I buy. My wheelchair transporter has now refused me pickup service because it takes too long - now what do I do? read more

Hi I am Anita Clark I was in Rochester Minnesota at the southside Walmart on Saturday I shopped for a handicapped home all the groceries every necessity that were needed I shop at your store for many years I am very disappointed about Saturday we went to check out and I went to cash register with a guy that was I think I was Somalia or African re-proceeded to check out where spend $515 at your store at took us 45 minutes with this guy to check out that is absolutely ridiculous and not even feasible the man takes one piece at a time takes his whole body to turn he moves slower than a turtle and then he proceeded to tell me it is his Breaktime I guess I don't get that concept if he wants his break he shouldn't of started checking us out and I proceed to tell him he can have his break when he's finished checking out We're had two heaping full carts of groceries toilet paper paper towels laundry soap I mean by get everything at Walmart and from now on I will choose to go to a different Walmart because I will not get stuck with this guy again I don't see how he could be a checker on a Saturday morning knowing the store is going to be packed everybody's going to be shopping and you put him on the register I am so disappointed in the customer service that were hat very disappointed we Came from all the way from Harmony Minnesota We're wall chose to go to Iowa to get our groceries from Non on I hope you take this to heart because I am not the only one that had to go through his check out line that taken that long and I think his priority should've been dead check us out and not whine about his break read more

I am giving this rating due to the service of the auto department. I go there for my oil changes, and tire issues regularly. There is an older gentleman there named Steven that is AMAZING. He is always in such great spirits, and is so very helpful! He takes the time to be sure I understand exactly what the issues are with the vehicle, and is always cheerful in doing so. There is also another older gentleman that was extremely helpful in my most recent visit - it was pouring down rain when I went to retrieve my vehicle, and he even went out and drove it right to the door for me. You don't really see that kind of customer service anymore these days. Kudos to Steven, and the auto department! The rest of the store does at times seem under stocked, but they're also very busy. read more

I am sick of being crabby every time I leave Walmart south. I have recently had to make returns or have a reason to go to the service desk for the last three weeks. They always have only one person manning it each time I come (Tuesday nights) I see personnel walking around (maybe they have other jobs but it doesn't look good) and there will be sometimes up to ten people in line and they still don't call another person to help. It seems with how busy they are they should have at least two minimum running the service counter. Last night I think there were only eight people a head of me, but the person in front of me got so sick of waiting she she said was headed elsewhere to buy stamps. And sadly I have never ordered from Walmart.com before so when I finally got to the front of the line they told me that I was to pick up my item in back, I didn't even need to wait in that line. Also, if you ever need help finding something, good luck, there is never a sales person on the floor that you can get to help you. I have decided Target is my store, they have plenty of cashiers and I often can walk right up to the service counter. I am tired of being frustrated. read more
