I walked in, and what a shambles. They are moving everything, and I guess remodeling - but they leave the signs hanging from the ceiling in the old spots, not the new ones - shelves empty and the stock in the middle of the isle, what a joke. The workers are more interested in their phones than the self-checkout customers. You have workers dressed like some type of comical superhero with a mask and gloves, yet you go to ask him a question, and he panics if your not wearing a mask (what a crock), another who is wearing a mask under her chin (just take the thing off). This is my local Walmart and so I end up here more often than I probably should. I am a general fan of Walmart because it is a great place for busy parents to get everything done all in one shot. I really appreciate the flexibility of getting all of my errands done at one store. I have had worse experiences than my most recent trip but we are on the upswing so I am optimistic. Today, the employees were engaged in stock and straightening up the aisles, shelves, and bins. It was almost surreal for a Walmart. I love going clothes shopping here towards the seasons changing because the clearance racks offer deals that you can't beat. I was able to find some cute shirts for my growing preteen to wear to school at less than $8 a piece. One shirt was only a dollar! I also love the baby separates at $3-$4 a piece. I am getting a little less flexible as I get older and a kind employee, who was probably a teenager, was nice enough to help me look for the size I needed on a low rack. I ended up with a few shirts for my older daughter and quite a few outfits for my younger daughter. I headed for the checkout lines and quite a few of the lanes were empty of cashiers while the lines were getting increasingly longer at the open lanes and self-checkout registers. My one criticism is that this situation seems to be the norm instead of a deviance from the norm. More cashiers are needed when you have more customers. I also wanted to mention the employee near the self-checkout when I passed through. While I was checking out, my daughter's diaper decided to give up it's absorbance goals and literally poured baby pee onto the floor. Although I am sure that was the absolute last thing that she wanted to deal with, the employee brought me paper towels and helped me clean up the mess that I unintentionally created. I stopped by this Walmart store for the first time yesterday. I had a few things to get in different departments including some work out/ fitness things for resistance training and a new wireless computer mouse. Overall it was just like any other Walmart store but what I didn't like is that it was impossible to find an employee to ask a question. I went to several different departments during my visit and it was the same story all throughout. I found some products on their website but I couldn't find it on the shelf so I needed help locating it and nobody was to be found. Employees are often seen just standing around when there are long lines at the very few open registers....the self service registers are more often than not NOT working..the coffee machine near the north doors is usually broken...do NOT go there when restocking shelves..huge pain in the neck to maneuver the mostly blocked aisles...frequently out of items...dirty overall...I guarantee that when Meijer opens in a few weeks, this Walmart will eventually close...one great employee at Walmart is Chris...most helpful person by far! Picked up a bag of Fertilizer where the price was clearly labeled. It rang up twice the price. Instead of Walmart honoring the error they had someone in the department change the price on the shelve and said that was always there. I guess the consumer now is always wrong! Never have I been a big fan of Walmart because in my opinion, it isn't as great as everyone says it is. But, that's my opinion and I'm not here to debate. This Walmart has everything from Christmas trees and fertilizer to canned dog and cat food for as low of a price you'd want it. But, I have experienced better. The cleanliness of the store, not so hot. The service they provide, the customer service desk, the employees, aren't helpful and most of the time they are moody and don't show they want to be there because they probably don't. The quality and prices of the foods and goods are great but the cleanliness and the crowd that is always there is terrible. They have over TWENTY checkout lines and they only use about four or five at a time which builds long lines. Why? Is it that hard to pay another worker for just one more register? Also, the jewelry department is pathetic. If you are going to Walmart for a good jewelry section, sorry but you are going to the wrong place. All they have are a few watches, some weird style earrings and buttons and some rings here and there. There is an alright selection and good prices but you could go somewhere else like K-Mart for instance; they have a bigger and better selection. Just a lot of things this Walmart needs to improve on. When they first opened, it earned a four star but now that it's been in business, it's just died down and it's just bad now. Bad is the least I can say also, which is a shame. I don't recommend this Walmart and if I would recommend it, I would recommend it only for their prices but don't get too excited, the prices are beatable... very, very beatable. Got denied 3 times and told it's not Walmart's job to help with the coin star machine.. then someone came and said we'd get help soon but nothing. This is about Pickup Service. From all the Walmarts I have picked up at, this has to be the worst. Employees are slow, unmotivated, you wait for ever for someone to come out. When they do come out and get your name, they are slow to come back out with the groceries. I often have to call their pickup line and notify them of my arrival, their response: Yea we saw you, we'll be out shortly. I often drive to Johnsburg just because of their awesome service. Better Homes and Gardens Red 1 Piece Dining Chair Cushion. We purchased four of these and the label stated: Waterproof, Mildew Proof and UV Protection. After one rainfall the cushions soaked up water like a sponge, lost it's shape and when we called the store we purchased from they refused to assist us in any manner. We do not recommend this product unless you need a giant sponge. Complete garbage. read more

we went shopping at walmart, we did the shopping on line and went to pick up the groceries, when I checked my bank account it showed that they charged my card 2 time in the amount of 171.00 which we received and then charged it again for 172.45 and then because I was charged twice my account went negative and I have a uncollected funds fee, so I called the 1-800 -walmart and they said. that they would reverse the charges within 5 business days, we they reversed the charge but short changed us 60.00, I will never shop at walmart again or I will not do online grocery shopping. read more

I go to this store on a regular basis. I usually never have a problem price matching. This week when I went in there to price match chicken I was told that they no longer price match meat. The manager of the store decided to no longer do it. Save you're self the time and go to a different Walmart or avoid Walmart and shop the sales at different stores. Photo center is basically a waste of space. I had to cancel my order twice because they were not equipped to process them. Apparently, photo books isn't something they stock up for. Yet, I got the email that stated that my order was ready for pick up. Clearly the left hand wasn't aware what the right hand was doing. Also, I had to go online and cancel it because it was an online order. But couldn't really cancel it because, according to the online Walmart, the order was processed and ready for pick up. I live very close to this Wal Mart and I used to go there 4-5 times per week. Recently I've been there and their customer service is non existent. I went through a Cashier called Jose, he wouldn't even say hi or make eye contact with me. After I payed and had to look at the screen for the total, I said, "well thank you Jose, you should try to respect your customers , have a good night". He looked at me laughs and says,"your white". So then I walked away and decided to tell the front end manager who was an African American lady, she just said ok and gave me a look like I was stupid. Worst store ever. This place is typical walmart. Terrible service, but you go because you have to at this point. It's still within affordability but that's coming to an end soon. My last visit, there was a couple who walked in just ahead of me. I saw them in the pharmacy area while I was in the cosmetics. The man from the couple walked towards me to speak with the walmart employee re-stocking the cosmetics. He asked for assistance: "Hi, I wonder if you can help me? We're trying to purchase one of these wheel chairs. I asked for help but the person hasn't come back yet." The reply from the employee stocking cosmetics, "No, you have to wait for them to come". I had been coming here since it opened. I couldn't be happier to find out that a Meijer is opening closer to my house. Which this store is also pretty close. More than once it was a upsetting experience by the staff and could tell they simply are there to punch in punch out and go home.
