Its a Walmart. What does one expect? Well, good people watching, that's for sure. Good pricing. Crappy gluten free section for as large as this supercenter is. They had tasters today that included orange Fanta and Twinkies, because well.....who hasn't had either of those? Derp. My BIGGEST complaint is that EVERY. SINGLE. CART I grabbed either had a bad wheel or crap in it; used Kleenex, plastic cups, plastic bags, etc. Walmart in Round Lake could afford to hire a FULL TIME employee JUST to clean up the carts. Completely different experience from last time with this pharmacy. Again, the doctor electronically transmitted the prescription. This time, 45 minutes later, I received a call that it was ready to pick up and was told the total cost as well. The whole process was perfect, until I got there and had 10 people in line in front of me all waiting to pick up as well. But we're making progress. Maybe they can serve coffee and doughnuts to the people in line. Or.....if it's happy hour....beer and pretzels!!! read more

Wal Mart's don't come as inefficient or as inept customer service-wise as this WalMart location. And don't EVER go in after 11 p.m. They keep ONE line open for a town of almost 50,000 people. And refuse to open a self checkout line. Employees standing around constantly. No one who works there ever smiles, save one old handicapped lady who is a greeter there who deserves better. Geez, she should be the dang manager. Seriously, avoid. The one in nearby Antioch is 1,000 times better. read more

Cheap merchandise and you get what you pay for. There are some good employee's but most don't seem happy to be there. One employee was basically useless. I asked her where I could find a toy for my son and she just directed me to the toy section. I was already in the toy section and expected her to give me a little more direction like many big box stores. It seems like they are trying to say their steaks and other meats are just as good as any other store but I find them on par with Aldi. You can dress the meat up all you want but it's still a Walmart steak. read more

Just had a ridiculous experience at the round lake Walmart. Had a cart with groceries and some beer. At the checkout they would not accept my state issued FOID card to purchase the alcohol. I keep my drivers license in the car, because I don't always have my purse on me. Supposedly per Store Manager. The Bank takes that card for ID. I was under the impression that the purpose of showing ID is to proof one is old enough to purchase liquor. I felt like to just leave everything behind, but I would have just punished myself by starting over somewhere else. read more

Horrible lines waits. They always seem to have the minimum amount of registers open that they can get away with.

It's just a big Walmart nothing spectacular. I appreciate the fact that they have the motor shopping chairs for people with disabilities. The only downside is that the registers always have a long line or they're slow. read more

I never thought my first review would be about a Walmart! I feel like I have to write a review because I've never gotten such great treatment at a Walmart. Gilbert was great. He's knowledgeable and has great customer service. If you're looking to buy a bike ask him for details, he knows his stuff. A friend purchased a bike. I live 1/2 mile from here and drive to the Antioch Walmart whenever possible. Things I have witnessed: Father and son riding bicycles down the aisle right past a worker (who said nothing) and almost crashing into me. 3 bags of fingerling potatoes that were 5 WEEKS past due, molding and mushy. I laid them on THE FLOOR so they would be thrown away and not sold. Ten minutes later, they were back on the shelf! I laid them on the floor again. Came back before I left and they were on the shelf AGAIN ! Other similar complaints-aisles crowded, poor stocking, parking sucks and lot traffic is worse. I can't wait for Meijer to open. read more

I am actually one of those people that like Walmart and in the past have done a lot of my shopping there. Now, I go to Walmart for certain items because of their prices, but I do NOT do my major shopping there because of their checkout policy. They have multiple self check lines and few Lines with cashiers. So, my Experience has been that if you have a lot of items, you are forced to wait in a long, time consuming line as only people with loaded carts will go to the cashiers. Im not inclined to load up a cart and then wait half an hour to get out of the store. Personally, I resent having to check myself out...I don't work for Walmart and I certainly don't want to give them free labor which is what I consider this to be. Now, I do my major grocery shopping at Jewel which still has a reasonable number of people to check me out without a long wait. More expensive sometimes but doesn't aggravate me. As far as cleanliness and etc that I see n other posts...I don't see a problem. I actually like the store and find the employees to be as nice or not as nice as any other big store...except for Chick-fil-a....where do they get their staff? They are outstanding. Too many empty shelves, cannot find the same grocery items/brands on every visit, the staff is nearly non-existent, it's dirty and not well stocked. Cannot wait for Mariano's to open. Say what you want about the way walmart pays their employees, but frankly, this staff would have to be trained for another year to deserve the crappy pay they supposedly earn. Min wage is too much for this lazy crew. Many times I see SEVERAL staff members just smokin away outside the front doors while there are no carts inside, empty bins and shelves inside, dirty surroundings, etc. The gurnee store is only a short drive, when possible I just go there. If you like to wait in line shop here. Never enough cashiers working no matter what time of day it is. Lines stretch into the aisles and people block the path with their carts refusing to move. I will not ever go to this Walmart again. read more

Why travel to Mexico when you can drive down the street to Wal-Mart. To be fair, I really like the plentiful self check-out kiosks they put in, and no doubt I will still be doing 2AM grocery shopping here, but Wal-Mart is still Wal-Mart. Cramped aisles, messy shelves, the one thing you really want is always out of stock, and somehow the same food you can buy elsewhere always ends up tasting a little worse when bought here. I wasn't going to write a review but after reading the bad reviews, I had to give my two cents. I usually have a good time there. Cashiers have always been friendly. Employees have gone out of their way to help me find something. I usually use the self checkout. Never takes very long. But I'm never really in a hurry. although its the nicest organized and built in the area... because i built it with an outsour ing company.... every customer service rep who works there is a slut...a cheating slut.. ive f@$@ed half the cashiers and turned down some... a vuy with there temp agencies was shining a flashlight into cars windshields at night on his break trying to vet them to crash.. i yelled at him and zaid there are children in that car and he said "so" and walked away.. after making a complaint to his direct manager nothing was done but a slap on the wrist... and almost every white girl working there is pregnant with a black baby. or on antipsychotics. I love this store it is super clean the employees are really nice and helpful and the best part was that I was greeted at the entrance.

I had to go in and return something that yes, I had bought like six months ago and didn't have a receipt, and I understand that that looks bad. I, however, would have appreciated a "I'm sorry ma'am but we can't take this back because it's too old" over the actual events. The guy called over a manager named Stephanie, she scanned the box, gave him a blatant "seriously..." Look and then rolled her eyes. She even put her hand up as if to say whatever. I'm so serious when's say that I've never been more disrespected by simple gestures. If they didn't want to, then they shouldn't have taken it back. It was a faulty product that didn't work the way it was supposed to so I felt like I had a right to try and return it. However, I would have understood if I had waited too long or something. But the way that manager acted, it was like she was forced to follow policy and take it back but wasn't happy about it. Why? Because now you have to RTV (return to vendor) the item and have to fill out one more form. It's not like they're losing money on it. I mean I worked in corporate retail and that's what we had to do with stuff. The manufacturer usually does give them credit especially from the brand that this product was. I'm dr on a tangent right now but the point is that this place has the worst customer service ever. I have more stories about their awful service but this one was the last straw. I will pay three times as much if I have to, I'm not shopping there anymore. read more

This Walmart is horrible I don't thing I could even give one star ! No customer service at all . As you all know Birthdays it's only ONCE A YEAR . We oder cupcakes and a cake it's so sad that they can even follow simple directions to make oder happen . I supposed to pick up cupcakes and cake at 11:00 a.m. I was doing my shoping in the morning and stop by to make sure my oder will be ready at 11:00 the lady check and told me that my oder is ready , I told her I be back at 11:00 for pick up .When I came back to pick up my oder was not done the way we oder . My kids are the Bears fan so they want cake to look like the Bears team orange and blue , the lady who took the oder told us that the cake will be orange and blue and the cake was GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!. The cupcakes was not the way we oder also , but I don't want to upset my kids so I took the cupcakes and oder cake somewhere else . As soon as I took the cupcakes to kids school they told me this is not what we ODER ! They told as that they will make the oder the first thing in the morning , but the cupcakes was not look fresh , when I ask my kids they told the cupcakes was old he is about to throw up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im sad that i do not enjoy coming here when i know their prices are awesome and they have a huge selection of almost everything!i use to love walmart but lately its been like wtf. excuse my language :/ parking is horrible. carts are every where they do not do a job in managing when to bring back carts or to check the lot. every time i go carts are literly pilled everywhere. cashiers... are u kidding me.. what kind of ppl is walmart hiring! they are always rude. never say hello never smile. it makes check out a bit painful and irrating, when u r slamming my groceries into bags. i hate coming here and to say i spend about $100 a week on groceries and baby supplies. i just choose to go elsewhere! read more
