During my stay in Ocean Isle Beach we decided to stock up on some items for our beach house for the long stay. We stopped by this Walmart supercenter. The store was clean and mirrored many of the Walmarts. I have visited over the year so it was easy to find items. The only issue that I had during my time at this Walmart supercenter was during checkout. A couple of the registers were reserved for something that was called for a spark member. I'm not quite sure what that meant, but I was sort of confused as to why we would be reserving registers for Spark Members that was not there when easily they could be opened to allow the whole line to flow quicker. read more

Even though all the reviews say that if you have an RV, the people of the Shallotte Walmart as compared to the Southport. Walmart are so accommodating and so nice and as long as you meet with the manager and let them know they're usually willing to work with you as far as spending a couple nights there as long as you clean up after yourself and aren't causing any problems. After going and speaking with the manager, found this not to be the case. Not only was he completely rude and unaccommodating. He threw us out stating we needed to leave in two hours. Unfortunately, my fiancé locked the keys in his car which he informed the manager who intern turned around and walked away and ended up calling the cops. Are you kidding me? What exactly are we doing wrong here sitting in a parking lot taking up four spaces when there's 50-60 other spaces not causing a problem. Literally have walked over there. 20 times and spent over $1000 for the manager to be a self-righteous prick.. will not be returning into that store for anything. Extremely disappointing since every other associate besides the manager we're actually people that enjoyed being there and it showed and they did a great job. Too bad their manager sucks. He tried to spell company policy, which is a bunch of BS. If he would've tried to lie and say it was Town ordinance or some bull crap like that, I could understand, but in the 25 other states that I visited every Walmart was the the accommodating as long as we spoke to the manager and gave them a heads up as to how many days we were trying to stay there.. I have never ever been told by a manager of Walmart unless it was a town ordinance that we could not stay.. Ordered groceries for delivery twice while visiting Holden Beach and Walmart did not disappoint!! They needed to make substitutions and they were great. They also found the address to the home with no issues and it arrived very timely. read more

Okay so they remodeled, but it's just lipstick on a pig. Same nasty Walmart, same unorganized shelves just in all different places, same rude as hell, miserable employees who hate their jobs so therefore refuse to do them. Self checkout is new but already broken on a regular basis. They just tried to make the store feel a bit nicer so we don't complain about how expensive everything is getting while the quality drops. If this area had any other options for household items I'd never step foot in Walmart again, but sadly we don't. Every time I have to go to this store it ruins my whole day. Online order -- pickup in Shallotte NC.. 2 bags of cold pre-paid items were NOT included when I got home and unpacked. Called store - excuse was employee missed these in the cold storage area. I'm 45 min away and asked for them to arrange delivery since they are pre-paid.. person in Shallotte Walmart refused to have this done for us. This is TERRIBLE service. read more

We came to this Walmart to pick up some household goods while coming home from chilis. Parking lot is in need of new pavement, dips and potholes are everywhere. On the inside this is a massive Walmart. It's fairly clean but you know it's like Walmart clean. It's clean but not the cleanest. We were able to find everything we needed, and while walking around the store was well stocked. The checkout lines are short and move fast, which you know isn't always the case with Walmart. Overall pretty good experience, but it's nothing special. 4 stars here. read more

Came to this location for the first time today. Got some nice flowers to plant from the garden center plus other great items. This is a huge Walmart, you can drop a boat load of money here. They have literally everything you would need. It was quite hot in here. I feel bad for the employees. The cashier was still friendly. The place is very busy with tight parking. read more

I accidentally walked out with a security tag on one of my items that I had paid for and nice gentleman checked my Receipt to make sure and was getting me handled when all of the sudden this big heavy set woman comes around the corner giving me the worst attitude imaginable, laughing at me as she's walking away, talking loudly to her co-workers right infront of a lot of costumers. Very unprofessional. I do not know her name, but was told she's a supervisor!!! She should absolutely not be. Not a good role model for the younger ids working here!!! I purchased tires at tge Walmart in Shallotte 3/15/2025 I travel every week due to my chemo .I live in Tennessee and my son is in the hospital in Wilmington so they wanted to make sure I had good tires for traveling. I had a blowout on the way back to NC and a highway patrol put my spare tire on.He said ma'am this tire is dry rotted.I Saud these are new tires he said I would take it back then he gave me directions to the nearest tire store and he also told me it was dry rotted.I called Walmart yesterday and he told me to bring it by and he would take care of me.Got there first thing this morning the guy looked at the tire and the manager came and told me I must have hit something in the roadNow 2 ppl looked at the tire both said I didn't hit anything and the manager informed me he wasn't replacing the tire.I will tell you I will never purchase anything else from them.Almost $600 and now riding on 3 new tires and a used one read more

I was in line at the service desk there was one person at the desk doing returns, the was one person in front of me. I sat in line for 20 minutes waiting for the person to get done with the return. I could have went home and came back in that amount of time. Such a waist of time, But overall everyone that worked there was nice to me especially my cashiers she was wonderful. read more

The absolute worst place I have ever shopped. The associates are awful and the people pulling items for pickup block the aisles and look at you like you're crazy when you ask to squeeze by. The scan and go customer service was appalling with an older lady ripping my head off for going to a line that was green (open) and then telling me it was closed. Once I finally got to a register it had multiple malfunctions and I asked a lady that was standing by for help and she said it wasn't her department. There were no actual cashiers open and it's a few days before Christmas. I'll drive anywhere else to never have to go here again. read more

My wife and I shop at the Shallotte, NC Walmart often. We have found that the personnel in this store are friendly, attentive and helpful if we need it. The store is always clean and well stocked. While they have several self checkout areas, they also have attended cash registers where they will check you out. It seems to be popular with a lot of people to trash Walmart and speak with an elitist attitude about it. I'll bet most of them actually go there on occasion anyway. This place is on the ropes. Customer service line is back to back. there are 4 registers but only one is open with a woman who could care less. and if she was any slower she would be stopped. I stopped shopping at Walmart pretty early into the whole Covid-19 stuff due to empty shelves, staffing issues, parking and limited entrances. I started going to a local grocery store instead. I decided to give Walmart's order/pickup option a try today. I Selected my pickup time, added items to my cart, checked out, app told me $$ would be put on hold until final check out at store, got the text telling me pending $$$ was placed on my CC. Then the app said my pick up time later today had already expired and to pick another time slot. I did and continued with my day. No updates received later so I checked app to find I had no orders. I logged into the website to find all my items still in the cart. So I called the store only to find out they had no order for me. So long Walmart. Just not worth the hassle!! read more

Had recently got a refund on my sams club membership. So I took the check to the customer no service and they wouldn't even cash their own check. Now this happened after I had got rang up at one of the 2 lines open. I had already bagged my stuff in my reusable bags. So I dumped them in the cart and once again they had to put the junk up. Evidently you don't even have to graduate 3rd grade to be a manager there. Horrible experience almost every time I have tried to go to any walmart affiliate. We shop at the Shallotte store at least once a week and have seen it go down in service since the self checkout has been in. We do not like to use the self checkout as that does take away jobs and the personal touch. Most of the time we are there only 1 or 2 checkouts are open with long lines at them. We have been to other Walmart's around the nation and have not seen this at them. This store needs to get a better handle on scheduling cashiers. read more

My husband is disable and ask for help because the scooter would go but 2 ft stop it had died in back of the store. He was by himself but due to his illness can not make it to the front of the store walking or he would not use the scooter. Because this lady in yellow Walmart vest named Kim did not help him he had to call my daughter to come to Walmart and help him get another scooter so much for helpful employees this being the second time this happen. After my daughter went helped him and he paid for his stuff on the way out the same women laughed and said I seen you made it and he said no I did not I had to call my daughters. No apologies or nothing. She just walked back in store. If someone with a disability ask for help it is usually because they actually need it he has lung disease he not stupid. So do not treat him as such. Call the store manager the next morning talk to him left my number but I have not heard for him or her supervisor. But I am following the chain of command and if I hear nothing I will call the next person .You can not treat the disable just any old way you choose. read more

Not only the worst Walmart I've ever visited but perhaps the worst retailer ever. Employees are awful, standing around talking, indifferent and apathetic. Today took the cake, because the three open checkouts had several customers in line I went to the self check out. My station was right next to the employee station and when I scanned my 6 pack of beer the age verification alert went off at both stations. After waiting some I had to interrupt the 4 (4!) employees talking about children to ask that one of them process my purchase so I could continue. With absolutely no comment, one of them slowly came over and did her thing, then returned to the gaggle. I've seen terrible service by a couple of these ladies in the past but today was unbelievable. This is much more than a employee problem I'm sure, the management should be embarrassed but I suspect they don't care either. read more

This Walmart is a tourist trap in the summer so it's hell as a local to simply get groceries. Beyond that, however, they have a few EXTREMELY rude employees that should be reported. Hate to leave a bad review for all the great employees there but a few bad apples spoil it. I've had 2 instances from the same young woman being very rude (1) taking things from my cart while my back was turned and being rude about it (because yes, I understand why she did it, it was alcohol and she saw me with someone else that didn't have an ID (no I wasn't buying it for underage minors), but her manner was horrible) and (2) treating me like a thief because some baby powder rolled under my baby's carrier. Obviously it's her job to let me know I've forgotten something, but I have never been treated like that for an accident. Also, because of the high volume of people it will take forever to get in and out, the shelves are never stocked (they get slammed so they can't keep up with the influx of shoppers), and parking is of course horrendous.
