It's been ten years since I wrote a review for this Walmart and it's time for an update. The biggest change is my recent shopping habits. As I have gotten older sometimes convenience out weighs going to the store and facing the frustrations of no electric scooter carts available or the store being out of what I intended to buy. My successful change has been enrolling in the Walmart Plus program and shopping at home online from my local store at Walmart.com The advantages of shopping this way: I place an order online and have the delivery made directly to my door. I don't have to search the store for hard to locate items, the Walmart employer has the tool to find each item. If they were out of the item it gets shipped to me for no extra fee and arrives within several days. The disadvantages of shopping on Walmart.com: I never order perishable items such as meat or produce. Occasionally the employee pulls the wrong item, i.e. can fruit in fruit juice vs .can fruit sugar free but returns are welcome at the Service desk in the store if I really care about the error. I still shop in person in the garden center, or produce but shopping online has saved me alot of gas,time,and frustration. read more

If you need groceries, go to Kroger! As far as everything else, it's fine enough, just your basic Walmart, but just don't buy food from here. The freezer section is regularly shut down. I once saw them put milk out for clearance on regular unrefrigerated shelves... the produce, and meat always looks meh. If a product bursts in shipping, they don't take time to wipe down the surrounding products and will just place spoiled food covered products on the shelves. I just haven't been impressed. read more

Not sure what is going on at the Shelbyville Walmart, but I had to cancel a delivery order last night because it was so late and had to cancel a pickup today after waiting 20 minutes and being told it was going to be another 20 until they came to my car! They wouldn't let me just walk into the store and get my groceries! What a waste of my time. I'll be going to Kroger or Publix or ANYWHERE else from now on! read more

I don't remember exactly what I went in for, but I recall the parking lot was easy enough to get in and out of and it was conveniently located next to my hotel. Of course you have the people of Walmart, but that a sideshow that's totally free and worth the price of admission! read more

Really large Walmart Super Center in Ky. They are Usually all the same, and this is was just before Christmas so EVERYTHING was all about the Holidays. The place was stocked and full of merchandise, but like everything and everywhere at this time, there seemed to be a lack of Human presence. Going up to the Check out and the lines were deep, there were a few regular registers open and all of the self check outs were open as well, and people were still 6 deep in line. It was frustrating but what can you do? This is the current situation we are going through, you simply deal with it or you go through the self service line - which was even longer. read more

I ordered ALL FABRIC SOFTENER last week and got the detergent instead. Went to do laundry and realized how careless the Walmart shopper was. I can only assume it was a guy under the age of 24. Now I have no FABRIC softener. I already buy 2/3 rds of my groceries from Kroger's now because of Walmart "I don't care about the customer's" policy and grocer and delivery incompetence. I was hoping that buying fewer groceries would allow the grocer pickers to take their time and do their job. But no. I found this store very small to be called SuperCenter and the people a little negative as far as workers goes. I pulled into the Oil Change area at Automotive and he was like, lady it's going to be close to 2 hours. Mind you there was 2 on the rack and mine was the next in line...I said well okay, if that's what it takes...in reality it was 45 minutes. Next at check out, I told her that I have 3 Wal-Mart E Gift cards use, she was well they might work back here and maybe they won't. I said these registers same as up front, she said yeah, I said same system running them, she said yeah...I said then they will work. She said with her hand on her hip, well we might have to call CSM, I said whatever to make it work and you keep your job!!! BTW, they worked fine!!!! She still works there!!! read more

The automotive service center was absolutely awesome! I came in with a hanging plastic cover in my undercarriage and the service techs took me right in and fought with that piece until it was completely fixed. I'm not a fan of this Walmart. I always have problems when I come here. They make their own rules. They won't price match Walmart.com like they are supposed to and when something rings up wrong and you take it off a shelf that has the price your expecting, they don't honor it like they are supposed to. I'm sorry but it's not my fault that you can't price your stuff correctly and/or your employees puts stuff in the wrong place. I mean, I go in to get what I need/want and check the price tag under the item and expect to pay that price for it. read more

I recently went to the Electronics department to purchase a big screen TV. The associate Gavin was knowledgeable and helpful. After purchasing the tv, Gavin and Ryan got a cart and wheeled it out to my truck and loaded it for me. The whole process took less than 20 minutes. They are such kind and helpful young men. I just wanted to let Walmart know they have some great associates working for them! They made my day.... read more

Walmarts policy on returns is 30 day money back guarantee. So I purchased items for an event and ended up with extras went back to see customer service to be told, "I'm not allowed to buy items for events and then bring back the excess." Walmart get your shit together. read more

Stopping at this Walmart Supercenter was not typical for me. I am usually not out in this area. However, I recently found myself in the area and needed to pick up a few items, so I looked up stores in my GPS and found this Walmart. My trip to this location was fine. I was able to find the items I was looking for, and also spent a little time browsing. (It's so easy to get lost in the inventory in these big box department stores!) From my experience, this Walmart Supercenter location seemed comparable to others I have visited. If you're in the area and need a quick shopping trip, this seems like a fine place to go. read more

I have always had a good experience with this Walmart . But this has to be the worst . At night after 10 there are like 2 workers at most, well tonight my boyfriend went to the pharmacy area to get nicotine gum , a woman came over and said she will go get someone that has a key , never returned, he called Walmart, the manager was to lazy to go over there , so he called over the intercom and said " we don't sell after blah blah" but they still sell cigarettes? Avoid this disaster at all cost. Cheap = yes. Clean = NO, friendly staff = dream on, concerned management = what management?, fresh produce = consistently rotten, customer centric = forget it. How many lanes are open? Never more than 3 with 6 carts deep each. Nothing good can come from frequenting here. Will avoid whenever possible. Management- recognize that it is your responsibility to ensure a smooth and stress free experience for your customers. If you don't feel it's your responsibility to deliver a perfect experience for your customers, may I suggest you take a pay cut and stock the shelves and at least keep them stocked? read more

This review is for there photo department... I ordered pictures over the internet and got a confirmation time and everything. When I went to pick them up I was informed that the machine has been down for 3 days. They guy working in the department said they did not know when it would be back up and running and that I could not cancel my order. This is the second time this has happened in the last 3 months. Will never get my pictures develop here again. In fact the only reason I ever went to this store. So I won't be back at Wal-Mart again. read more

Long story short, the only reason I give two stars is for one employee, an older night shift worker- Susie, whom is always super nice to my young children, and because the clearance is usually marked down lower than surrounding Wal-marts. The store, parking lot, shopping carts and bathrooms are most always gross. Shelves unorganized, and when an item is priced wrong at the shelf (and yes, I read/compare stickers to be sure they are the correct tag), the cashier looks you in the eye and tells you too bad. I don't know what goes wrong with the food, meats and produce, but its always super gross. The really sad part is, this is a common theme with KY wal-marts. Super rude employees, and super gross inside and out. I've visited several Wal-marts in other states during my travels, and KY is by far the worst. read more

While I'm not in love with the layout of this location, the staff are at least competent, and for the most part, friendly. I like the Frankfort store layout better but have had abysmal service there, so, I now lean more towards the Shelbyville location. They always have staff working the self checkout, and their standard checkout lines never seem too long. Their on-floor staff also tend to be pretty helpful. read more

I've had a lot of bad experiences with Walmart. However, this just might have been the worst Walmart I've ever seen. There were carts all over the store just randomly sitting there with "junk" in them. I had to move two just to see the phone chargers. You can't find prices. The Acer computer monitor I was interested in wasn't priced and of course no one was working electronics. I went to the front to check out with my five items and waited in line 30 minutes before I left. Huge lines and no one seems it necessary to open up a register or two. Please someone give me and option other than Walmart! read more

I went to Wal*Mart (Shelbyville, KY) to purchase Claritin-D and I saw that the price was $26.42 and that seemed high to me. When I got home I called Kroger (same town) and found out that the price for the exact same product is $21 something. $5 cheaper. There is a sign at Wal*Mart that says I can't return pseudoephed products and they refuse to price match. So, don't go to this store assuming they have the lowest prices in town. read more

In three years,it just keeps getting worse and worse...I find product's I like and they decide to quit carrying them...Like Sam's Choice Lasagna, quit carrying it!!! And Sea Pack Shrimp Scampi,quit carrying it and replaced it with Gordon's which is terrible!!! And Mikesells Reduced Fat Potato Chip's and it just goes on and on!!! I was in WalMart Saturday night at 7:30. My Grandson wanted a pumpkin. There were two express lines open, one at each end of the store. There were three registers open in the middle. There were 17 people in line in front of me. This is not the first time this store has not had enough help. I spoke with a manager who trashed the staff as mostly low life employees who do not show up for work. So many checkers did not show that night, WalMart was at a standstill. Why does Walmart allow stores so poorly managed to stay open. Just shut the place down if the employees are such low life. What kind of manager just throws the employees under the bus like that. I told him it seemed more like his problem as a manager which really angered him. He said he was used to taking gruff from people "like me", whatever that is. People "like me" make his living. People in Shelbyville should just stay away from this store until new management can be put in place. It is a disgrace to have a store like this representing WalMart. read more
