After 4 bourbon trail stops over 2 days we planned a wine stop. This place is now just a tasting room. You have a choice of around 20 to taste. Many are sweet which I prefer. During the week tastings are 6 for 5 dollars and the weekend is 3 for 3 dollars. If they aren't crowded you can do another round. They do this since the tasting room is small. Lots of bottles to buy and you get 5 percent off for 3 and 10 for 6. I recommend visiting. Late on Friday and Saturday evenings they have music. We were lucky to have no other Customers when we first arrived on a Sunday around 2:30PM. Friendly workers. We bought 6 wines! read more

The Vidal Blanc is definitely a fantastic choice for the dry and crisp wine lover. The venue is beautiful both inside and out. Several families were in the yard enjoying a very nice October evening and listening to a great entertainer. Service was a bit lacking at the counter, the Wine Rep didn't offer the flight initially and was a bit abrupt. Made it up to see Paul the wine guy via someone else's incredible review and was not disappointed! He is so full of knowledge, ask away! My husband is not a big wine drinker and he really helped him in seeing the different sides of the wines and how to pair them. Very charming and you can tell he really loves what he's selling. We went on a Sunday and the wine tasting is limited to 3 pours for tasting for $3 (Paul side during the week it's 6 for $ ) They have a calendar on their website that shows live music at both locations Lexington and Shelbyville starts at 4 and ends at 6 and gives you an hour afterwards to enjoy the patio/picnic table areas. It is dog friendly, however your fur babies are not allowed inside. I recommend the first time to go without your babes so you can enjoy a good tasting. Food is limited as in cracker foods. Their is a small fridge with some options for a small snack and coke products should you have folks under 21 in your party. Cute little shopping area too! Loved it and will be back again. Stopped in spontaneously on our bourbon trail visits. It's close to the Jeptha Creed distillery. It's a nice break from all the bourbon! Their different varieties of wines are delicious. A favorite of ours was the Rogue: Traminette that's aged in bourbon barrels. You get that hint of bourbon while still tasting like a bright tasting white wine. Paul was very knowledgeable and helpful with explaining the different varieties and sharing the history of the winery. Live music on Friday and Saturday evenings! We stopped by here for a wine tasting on a Saturday morning, shortly after they opened. We were the only ones there. Normally, you only get to try 3 wines for $3, but if there is not a wait or they aren't busy, they let you try additional tastings for $1 extra. So my husband and I tried our 3 each, plus additional ones. Here is what we tried: *Sweet Evening Breeze - Just okay to me *Blackberry Moscato - a good blackberry wine *Strawberry Moscato - very good, liked this better than the blackberry moscato *Coyote Red - Okay, but not a big fan of this one. *Crimson Kiss - Very good *Stolen Kiss - aged more than Crimson kiss, definitely good, but preferred Crimson Kiss. *Afterglow - a good one. *Blackberry - a good blackberry, but preferred the blackberry moscato more. *Mango - this was an amazing mango wine. Not sure we've had many mango wines, but this one would be near the top. *Peach - another amazing wine. Definitely could tell you were drinking a peach wine. Our favorites were definitely the mango and peach. They were out of the peach so we only got a bottle of the mango to go home with; however, we had been to Total Wine the night before and noticed their wines - which led us to the tasting. We went back to Total Wine to get a bottle of peach. Definitely recommend if you are in the area and to go early if you want to try what they have to offer. Service was friendly! read more

Went there with a group and was interested in buying a few bottles of wine to share. The worker offered for us to taste a few to try. She then charged us for wine flights, which caught us off guard because we thought she was offering us free tastings. She was super helpful, but we were disappointed to feel taken advantage of. Would have appreciated transparency before she let us taste. Also, this sounds weird, but the tap water tasted and smelled very strongly of a graphite pencil which was concerning. We did a tasting and then got bottles to take to the Equestrian room upstairs which is a small room for private parties. My favorite wine was the Chardonnay. Ok. I realized my review was out of date. I have been back to Talon several times with people and they have absolutely redeemed themselves since my first visit. Service is leaps and bounds better than my first visit. Sheila and Lisa are great, in particular! They specialize in sweeter wines, which is right up my alley. The Afterglow rosé is one of my faves. Depending on the day, they have different tasting options. On this day, we were able to sample 6 wines. They now have moscatos too which are sweet and light and delicious. They are just off of 64 near the outlet shops and are certainly worth a visit if you are in the area! read more

This is an awesome winery. About a 20-30ish minute drive from the East side of the city, and is a lot bigger than many other wineries around the area. Talon also gets a lot more business, since they are right off of I 64. They have a lot of fun wines to try. and WINE SLUSHIES that are amazing! But my favorite part has to be their backyard patio. You get a beautiful view of the yard and pond, some rocking chairs to relax in, and even some open spaces where you can have a picnic. Their gift shop is also worth checking out.
