This place is incredibly dirty and disorganized. It's so clear that management doesn't care, and the customers reciprocate that. Even the curbside picking up process is a hot mess. Customers who go in to shop park in those pick up spots, anyways and there's no reinforcement. There are tons of security parked in the shade that look down on their phone though. So the time I spend trying to find a spot for pickup could have been half my time looking for those items at the store. Also, every time that I come here there's some altercation in the parking lot, either people fighting for spots, cars honking, or people not stopping at the curb to leave that they almost hit each other. I lm just going to drive an extra 15 to go to Niles to avoid all this. EDIT: initially gave a 1 star. This Walmart Supercenter has seriously gone downhill, and the lack of management is obvious. ​First, the store is incredibly disorganized and dirty. While I understand that some customers don't respect the space, the store layout and cleanliness are ultimately the responsibility of management, and they are failing to maintain it. The employees don't help the situation at all--most of the workers I encountered were far more interested in gossiping with each other than helping customers. When you actually manage to ask someone for help, they usually have absolutely no idea about the store's products or layout. ​But the absolute most annoying part of this location is the parking situation. They have blocked off up to FIFTY parking spots exclusively for online pickup orders. Taking up 50 prime spots as though 50 people are all going to show up for pickup at the exact same second is ridiculous. It ruins the parking experience for everyone else who actually wants to come inside and shop. ​Between the terrible parking, the messy aisles, and the unhelpful staff, this location is a frustrating mess. Customer service with the cashier, great. Nice guy. Cost of items, pretty good. Organized. The staff was stocking and trying to keep out of the customer way. The complaint I have is when you check out at the register. The system no longer shows you the items they scan and the cost. And when you go to put your credit card in, there's no total, and I had to ask the cashier. He said the management just changed the systems today and they told the staff the change is to make the lines go faster, knowing it'll back up customer service desks with people instead of the cashier. I get it, but I feel that there should be transparency in what I buy and being able to see when my items scan. Found expired items on display earlier today. It was for cheese ball containers, expired 12/23/25. Looked at the bottle and how stale they were. Brought this up to the employee attention and tried to lie saying the date is the manufacturer date, that's not true it's called the sell by date. I came here to get a replacement battery for my key fob. My cars dash has been showing me that the key fob had a low battery. I went to Batteries + Bulbs. They told me it would be $18. I have 2 key fobs so that would have been $36 (before tax). That seemed way to excessive so I declined. Today I went to Walmart to see if they had my battery for my key fob a CR 2032. I found a 4 pack of Duracell Batteries for $11.74 (before tax). I'm so glad I thought of going to see if they carried my battery. I have mixed feelings about this Walmart. It's our neighborhood store, closer than the one down down the street in Niles so I never need to go there anymore. This one is also a SuperWalmart so it's super convenient, yet it's always crowded! And I do mean crowded, especially the parking lot, which tends to be a zoo. They allocated soooo many sports for curbside pickup all around and on tbe side, way more than handicapped spaces, yet I hardly ever see people in their cars waiting for their items to be brought out. So either people are all going in to pick up their online orders or thus system just is not working. Either way, parking is the worst here!! They do have a decent selection, the low prices you'd expect, and I love all of the self-service checkouts! On both sides! Gets us out a lot faster. So there's that. read more

Shopping at Walmart used to give me a headache. It's the primary reason I have not shopped there in a decade. (There were a handful of times I shopped online because their Simparica Trio is cheaper than veterinary offices.) My reasons before were 99% related to an oil change at one of the SouthSide Chicago locations, but I won't get into that since this is a totally different store. What I will say is after cutting up my RED card after being a loyal Target customer since 2014, I needed to find another retail store that had the same items from there for reasonable rates. While fruit stores and other grocery stores had most items, there were very specific items (ex. a brand of dog food) that only seemed to be at Walmart and Target. While social media jokes are constantly made about "shopping at Walmart," I have to give this place a lot of credit. All I saw were employees working, including dutifully organizing carts in the parking lot. But I give MAJOR props to your pickup team. Unlike at Target on Peterson, this location did not give me any trouble for bringing my dog along. Even the customers left me alone (minus one creepy girl who I ignored) and just let me stand in place waiting for my curbside pickup. The employee couldn't find me at first, so he called and asked was I "the lady with the little dog." I was so focused on the parking lot that I saw him when he walked by with a wagon but didn't think he was my pickup person. That's when I realized Walmart has a designated pickup area that is FAR more comfortable to stand in instead of the entrance (and away from incoming and exiting customers). I had a second pickup, so I hung around a few more minutes for that one too. The employee (forgot to check his name tag, but he's about 5'10-6'0, slim build, lighter skinned, lots of curly black hair, looks sorta like a Romanian associate of mine) was pleasant, professional and friendly both times. Although I am cognizant that everyone doesn't like dogs and made sure to distance the two during pickup, she didn't even bark. Just sniffed his shoes (before I pulled her back) and looked at him. I wish I remembered his name so I could compliment him to management. Great job overall. If I had known how organized and stress-free the pickup process was at this Walmart location, I would've come here a long time ago! I actually really like this Walmart. Good prices, lots of self check out stations, awesome gluten free section, etc. The fifth star that's missing is for the parking lot. Walmart dropped the ball big time. There are like 30 or maybe more "reserved" spots for store pickup. They put those spots in the front of each row of the parking lot. Here's why that's dumb: A) if someone ordered all their stuff online to come pick up, have them park further back so an employee can take all their stuff to them further back. B) why should people walking into the store have to park further back? Just because someone isn't handicapped doesn't mean they can walk farther than they prefer. Being a fat guy, I don't want to be forced to exercise. IN ADDITION, as most of you know by now, I am my mom's primary caregiver. She has Alzheimer's disease. Even though she doesn't have a physical handicap, it's a lot more stressful to walk with her from far af away from the door. We park in the reserved. We go to Walmart about 3 times a month at the least. I think they owe it to me to let me park in a store pickup spot. Photo department is dis-organized. Everytime I do a 1 hour pickup, it's never 1 hour..... and more like 3 hours. Today I paid for 66 photos.... and only got 62 photos back. I parked in the packed lot, walked through the freaking maze of poorly laid out aisles with letters and numbers going every which way to the dental area .... and they don't have it. Store very well clean organized and shelves were full and they were refilling yourself as well people are very polite greet you when you come in and had sanitize shopping carts waiting for you. The prices are cheap here and the milk is more inexpensive than Aldi. The parking lot is always crowded, however, I can understand why given that the prices are hard to beat so everybody comes here. Tell me why if you're ordering your groceries off of Walmart website, the products can't just be taken from stock? I hate going to Walmart specifically this one, because you're constantly ran over, blocked, or can't get the product you want because they snatch it up first by Walmart employees shopping for online customers off of the freaking shelves. I would think that the people that are in the store should probably get first dibs on what's on the shelves, as well as maybe employees be courteous to the customers that are in the store instead of running them over and blocking them. In general I like shopping at Walmart but I have to say customers do not pay attention to direction of floor and they have really gotten pretty crowded. But they carry my aloe Vera juice 100% by the gallon for only $6.44. So I usually stock up with 4 gallons. The only other place that carries this I found was at a Walgreens but for $12.00. Their fruit and vegetable section is good but I don't have luck in their meat and seafood department. I have always been able to find a service clerk when I couldn't find my products and I like how they have an app now to locate the isle. They are generally pretty friendly too. read more

This experience is based on the in store pick up. Why Walmart why? You want to compete with Amazon in e-commerce with your Buy Online and Pick up in store hybrid approach? Get it straight. I checked in 25 minutes before I was arriving to the store. What happens? I end up waiting a combined 20-25 minutes to pick up 4 items (3 orders) along with 8 people behind me in line. The employees complained that when items arrive in the back, it's scanned in then the customers are notified to pick up. The disconnect is according to an employee is the items of that day are brought up on a pallet so the employees have to sort through it instead of going to the backroom and grabbing if off the rack. This system is promoted nationally with paid advertising so it's ashame they don't have it right at this location. I'll give it another try down the line but will know to allot extra time. read more

Delivery from other grocery chains was hit and miss despite increasing their food prices, delivery surcharge, and tips. Walmart was slow to provide pickup and disorganized at first, but this service has gotten better over time. As a high risk senior with a higher risk spouse, driving to Skokie for no contact pick up makes good sense for us in COVID times. When the app works, it's great although I prefer the larger images on my iPad to avoid accidentally buying the wrong size package. When the app is down (now ~5% of the time), it's a mess - but the staff do their best to fix things. We no longer allow substitutes but if the alternative is more expensive, Walmart only charges the original price. Their fresh fruits are often bruised/smashed/moldy or rotten, especially bananas and Cuties - but they are very reasonable about crediting your account if you report the problems. Everything else we've ordered is consistent with what we've purchased in-store. Familiar Walmart products & prices, picked/packed/loaded in your trunk by employees correctly wearing a mask (who get benefits and regular wages) is a good thing! We now do 90+% of our grocery shopping at this Walmart location. read more

Well its a Walmart.... But seriously the people who I have encountered who work here are super professional and helpful. I often do self check out and there has been great help there when I need it. Store is fairly clean for a Walmart. If its not its due to the people who visit the store. Again great store to visit esp early. I have not encountered any people of walmart moments during my trips. Most of the time this is a good place. But more than one occasion on my usual shopping trips have I found expired and moldy food on the shelves. Needs to do a better job cycling food on shelves. Picture of the worst I found most recently. I was surprised at the huge and fresh groceries department in this store. Quite impressed. Also ,there's a bicycle corner there that came quite handy when all of the bicycles disappeared in the quarantine. Employees are nice and store is kept well other than that. Also prices are reasonable for this area. Just make sure to check those expiration dates! I've noticed recently that not only Walmart but other places have either been very low or completely out of their almond milk in the large jugs not the small cartons. I hardly ever go to Walmart tbh, but I went in to buy a power surge protector. This locations parking lot is way too small. And not the fault of the store but the people driving in the lot need to relax and chill and drive safer. Driving in that lot is dangerous. Be careful. People going too fast and not yielding. Now on to my shopping experience. I went into the store with no basket cause I did not need one, I was only getting one item. I went to the area where the electrical surge protectors were and picked it up then decided to look at some other things. Then I get an urgent email from work so I'm standing there answering my email and get interrupted by a worker. I don't old them I'm just browsing and went back to answering my email then walked around a little more then there was what appeared to be a security person following me rather closely. This to me is absolutely unacceptable behavior by the staff. I have no plan or need to steal an item. I do not appreciate being targeted by some security person, that is most likely following a bias of some sort. They obviously need some retraining or something. I purchased my item at the register and out of all the people leaving the store they stop me and ask for the receipt. Need less to say I almost screamed at the lady at the door but held it in and gave a smile and said thank you. I was not mad at the door lady but it was the stress and aggravation leading up to leaving the store. I will never set foot in this store again. I should have just went right to the return area and returned the item. Based on how this store made me feel and the anxiety it caused I don't think I will go to any Walmart store again. One would think since you are not stealing you have no feeling about it, well you do, it's invasive and for someone with anxiety causes a distress. I get that maybe there is a theft issue or something at this location but I think you can do a much better job at watching people. I'm sure all this type of thing is done in all stores but the big differentiator between them and this one is you don't notice it, and it does not interrupt your shopping experience.
