My friend and I were in the area to run a marathon. This particular Walmart was really close to where we were staying, so we came here to buy snacks and drinks for the weekend. Per the usual for a marathon, I bought a bottle of grape Powerade, a gallon of water, and a bag of Siete tortilla chips. As with any Walmart, the prices were great! I normally don't mind shopping at the local Walmarts. You sacrifice some of the expected amenities like clean, orderly shelves, and enthusiastically courteous employees so you can save money. I get it. Beware the Walmart located at the Jordan Gateway in South Jordan. We decided to pick up a small additional turkey for after Thanksgiving. Once we finished picking up a few additional items we went to self checkout. I wanted to ensure we got the sale price of $.98 a pound advertised for our turkey. I scanned the turkey bar code and the unit price was correct. Then I paused because something seemed wrong. While the turkey had indeed rung up at $.98 a pound, it said my 13 pound turkey weighed over 26 pounds, effectively doubling the price of my turkey. We were on self check out because the lines were outrageously long on the few isles that had live cashiers. The person overseeing self check out said she couldn't do anything. Her supervisor came over looked at it, but seemed to think the price was correct. I pointed out that the scale the turkey was sitting on clearly said it weighed 13 pounds. Why was I being charged for a turkey twice that size? About 15 minutes later a manager sauntered over, re-examined the turkey, the scale, and the charges. No surprised looks, she just finally decided to press a few buttons and corrected what was evidently a recurring problem. My question is, how many people have been buying their bargain priced holiday turkey at Walmart only to be overcharged when they checked out. How many people check their receipt to see if they got the price they were promised, or paid TWICE that amount? Shameful! They don't deserve even one star. read more

DO NOT take your car to this location's tire shop. If the installation is at all challenging, the shop will give up, and if you ask why, the service manager might exclaim, across the waiting area and in a rather loud voice: "We don't have time to fiddle-fuck around with your car!" Which is OK I guess, because I didn't pay $106 to have somebody fiddle-fuck around with my car. I actually paid $106 to have my $656 tire purchase mounted, balanced, and then installed on my car. I give this place four thumbs up because the bathrooms could use some work and some times you I see that the store needs to be restocked every now and then. I do come here very frequently and maybe that's why I see that the shelves need to be restocked but that is the reason why I give this four stars instead of five. When it comes to Bingham apparel the Walmart off of bangerter highway definitely has more options. **I use to do Walmart Grocery pick up but the service went down hill, long wait time, bad customer service, they don't pick produce well. So I just stopped all together. I was given two coupons for the bad service I received, so I used one and the service didn't change and I didn't want to keep complaining so now I just walk in. I went in today to buy a few things on a gift card that I hadn't used and it said there was $0.34 on it. When I explained this to the customer service manager, she was not only rude and condescending but agreed that another location had "scammed" me. Her words. I'm not only leaving feeling taken advantage of but she didn't even try to resolve the issue. Saying I would have to go back to that store (a 30 minute drive) to figure out what went wrong. This is the walmart to go to if you are looking for a good variety in the clearance section (the absolute first part of every walmart i go to). Other than that, it might just be me, but there appears to be more and more teenage employees out there and I am not sure they know how to interact with customers or in general on a professional level. read more

This is possibly one of the worst Walmarts in the state besides the one in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. There's always homeless people in front begging, thankfully, no homeless people inside. The restrooms are always disgusting with piss on the ground and paper towels out of stock. They don't restock things in a timely manner. I don't think it's neglect as much as this Walmart is highly trafficked and things just fly off the shelf. If you need a specific product that is popular, go somewhere else, it won't be in stock here. If you order pickup only and don't go into the store I'm sure you'll be fine. read more

I visited this walmart again today for a few grocery items. I always leave this store annoyed and frustrated. The store was packed. You know the store is busy when you get road rage while pushing your cart down each aisle. They had 3 cashiers open (1 of which was self checkout). The amount of time it took to wait in line to pay for 5 items, was outrageous. Our cashier seemed to hate her job....and possibly even hated us. I'm not sure if it was self loathing or a general hate for the population lol. I will drive the extra 3 miles next time to hit a winco or a smith's instead. Avoid this store! Wal Mart is for poor people: it employs poor people and provides a plethora of needed survival items that poor people can afford. If Wal Mart weren't here, would all those unskilled barely-getting-by WM employees suddenly have high paying jobs? No. Would they suddenly have health insurance? Negative. Salt Lake County requires masks in ALL retail stores. I went in at 7 AM this morning. They have large signage saying face coverings are required. The greeter and a CSM were masked, at the entrance, counting customers in and out. I am high risk and wear mask and latex gloves. At least 20 customers were in the store without masks. Several of the workers had masks pulled down, exposing their nose and mouth. As I was leaving, a maskless couple walked in right past the greeter and CSM without being stopped. read more

The customer service here was awful. Aubrey, the manager in the electronic section was incompetent, and rude. I asked an employee how many gigs of ram one of the laptops on display had, because the specs were missing on the display. The employee wasn't sure, so she brought out Aubrey the manager. Aubrey looked at the laptop and then told me to get on the Walmart app and look it up. I told her I didn't have the Walmart app. She walked away to grab her portable merchandise scanner/price checker machine. When she came back, she scrolled through it the machine for about 5 mins. The entire time she was murmuring passive aggressive comments with a nasty attitude. But when you have associates who can't assist in ringing up store brand items - and insist that you go to another line to check out, what the s the purpose of having employees? When you're too dam lazy to do your job IN FRONT OF A CUSTOMER, you suffer from IDGAF, and should be fired. Obviously, he associate won't be fired, because it's not Just him, it's the culture of the store, and other Walmart stores nationwide. I can definitely say I'm no fan of Walmart stores overall, which means you're unlikely to see anything above a 3 star review from me for such a store. I've often maintained that Walmart is where you go in the afterlife if you've been bad, I also suspect some of the zombies...sorry I mean staff....also have weekly lessons with the devil on how to be more evil. I don't know what they charge him for their services!!! But those things aside, once you sift through the general crap of the stores (i.e. stay away from clothing, electronics, most produce and any food that doesn't come in some form of box from a name brand) I sadly have to admit for certain everyday commodities you really can save a lot of money. However this particular Walmart store is one I try to avoid like the plague (which I believe is available in the Subway that resides in the store). Just moving to town and after several trips to the local Walmart I continue to be disappointed. They have out of stocks all over the store and the only employees you can find are picking for online orders and they are useless. Don't use the restroom, you'll find better luck at a truck stop. I'm not sure who the store manager is, but I would be embarrassed if I was you. Take some pride and clean this place up and get your broken urinals fixed. I am unfortunately neighbors with the Walmart superstore @ quarry bend. They're always in the way, not giving room for customers that go in to shop. So basically if you're not a curb shopper then you are not relevant. Not that it matters, because nothing is there anyway. And if there is something there that you want it doesn't have the price on it. And it's never in the right place. I actually go out of my way up to Smith's off of 9400 S and 2000 E The prices are the same. The service is 10 times better. And I've lived in the city my whole life and that Smiths has been there since I was a kid. Sucks because I would rather go to Walmart because it's more convenient. However the service makes me sick. Let's be honest. Walmart is evil, and sits at the apex of the American consumerist empire. They have killed small business in this country. They represent all that is gluttonous about America, and I personally believe they're one of the primary reasons for shows like "Hoarders." And their stores stink. Literally. Before you even catch "Welcome to Walmart," spoken by the poor, creaky 84 year old who is forced to keep working for the insurance, you'll be smacked upside the head with the stench of old produce, bad meat, a sweaty public, and very likely a Subway sandwich shop. Along with a bunch of crap I can't even allow myself to think about. Ick. So, you say you're confused by my 3-star rating? Well, it's a relative rating, my friends. As Walmarts go, this one is...(sigh)...okay. Sure, you'll still run into the typical Walmart crowd. But, with a few of the right precautions, yours too can be a successful Walmart experience. I don't consider myself a Walmart shopper. With times like these, though, you do what you have to do. And I now have to split my shopping list into two sections because I can no longer afford to give all of my hard-earned cash to my favorite grocer. The crowd at any Walmart is an abomination to the discovery of shopping - the moms who bring all 13 kids with them, then have no idea what they're all doing while she's leisurely shopping and chatting on her cell phone. (I can tell you what they're doing. They're playing Red Rover across 5 aisles, hitting other customers with the big red balls, and screaming as loud as possible the whole time.) Word to the astute: avoid the family games section. Grocery-wise, I have some very hard and fast rules about what I will and won't buy at Walmart. First, pre-packaged goods are okay, and they have a great selection. Canned, bottled, or bagged (with a seal) goods which have been packaged outside of the Walmart world are the same as you'd find anywhere else, just less expensive. They also have great prices on prescriptions; but don't expect top-notch pharmacy service. Meat, produce and dairy (other than pre-pkg'd cheeses, etc.) are strictly off limits for purchasing at Walmart. I won't go into why, or what I know about how they obtain and handle such items. Suffice to say, I would never buy these items at Walmart. Also, I never buy a pricey item at Walmart (eg. electronics, furniture, etc.). For these items, one can always find a better deal online anyway. Now, a word about Walmart's service. I don't really care about it here. I rarely think about it, as a matter of fact. I know going in that it's going to be a bare-bones experience, and I'm willing to trade smiles, assistance, conversation and good will for low prices. If I purchase anything here that doesn't work out for me, I don't return it. I already know it won't be a successful experience, so why bother. This is just my approach; it won't work for everyone. It's all about expectations at Walmart. I go in having already done my Lamaze breathing techniques, taken my Xanax, and I come out much happier. And, usually no one gets seriously injured. read more

So I took my Ford Windstar to this walmart for an oil change today and soon recieved a call from them stating they could not do an oil change on my car due to the fact that my dipstick was broken. When I asked why not they said they couldn't check the level of oil. I was under the impression that they would drain the old oil out and put the amount of oil in indicated by a manual. Apparently walmart mechanics aren't skilled enough to do even that. I was told to take it to jiffy lube. When I picked up my car they were rude and walked away while I was talking. My daughter recommended I take my car to this location because of how nice they were...I recommend no one take their vehicle here because they are unskilled and rude! shame on you Walmart! read more

WALMART REVIEW If you are looking for the lowest prices, Walmart has everybody beat!! Walmart has everything, I usually go here when I want to spend the least amount of money possible. It's a great place to get anything and everything on your list! I recently went to pick up some school supplies- I got exactly: A academic desktop calendar, 4 sets of sticky notes, highlighters, and an academic date book. It cost around $90.00 at Staples. At Walmart it was $30.00!!!! I got the EXACT same supplies at each store, if this doesn't prove they have the lowest prices than I don't know what does!! FAVORITE THINGS about this Walmart are: Self check-outs! (There are 5+ stations.) McDonalds (right in the store) Customer service is excellent Returns are quick & easy (They give your money back not store credit; like other places) Large variety of gift cards: Cabelas, Wendy's, Subway, Smash Burger, Cold Stone, Burger King, iTunes, Xbox, etc. Redbox Stations (2) Has a Garden Center THINGS I HAVE BOUGHT at this Walmart are: 12 dozen donuts (variety of types) for about $4.00 Dog Supplies (much cheaper than going to Petsmart) Seasonal items Birthday cards Gift cards Fresh fruit Shoes! Whats there to say about Walmart? They have pretty good prices and a large selection. I really like that they have a large baby department, compared to the target close by. It makes it easier for me to quickly go in the middle of the night and get some emergency baby items. The fact that walmart is 24 is one of the best things that walmart has going for it. I don't like how busy it gets and no matter how long the lines to the cashier is, they never open all the checkouts. Whats up with that. I am happy that they now have a much smoother self-checkout system. I give walmart 3 stars because its just OK. There is nothing special about walmart, or atleast this location. read more

It's always been a good Walmart for my needs. I already know that the customer service is a nightmare at any Walmart, so I just avoid where I can. Simple. I know that the car service is about as good as jiffy lube. Not worth it. At least I've never experienced dishonesty from the car section of Walmart like I have at jiffy lube though.
