It was pouring down with rain and I was not going to try to drive much further in the dark when I pulled into this Walmart and ended up staying the night in their lot. This is one of the few Walmart stores that tolerates overnight parking and that's pretty cool. Inside, the store was in decent condition. No trash on the floors and the few things I purchased were in good shape for stock. No queue at the self checkout and the restroom is clean enough. If you are planning to park overnight, please be respectful and don't ruin a good thing. Take your trash, don't block spaces and don't make noise. I'm really shocked at other reviews at this Walmart! It was such a treat to see all the goodies and a layout of this Walmart. The Walmarts in my city are usually dull color and this one was not at all even had brown inside which I was shocked. The self checkouts are huge- they have conveyor belts! I was in total shock. I really enjoyed my thorough walk around. I know for sure if I lived closed this would be my go to Walmart. The door greeters were very nice here, I was greeted as I entered and as I left. The staff is generally polite here however the upkeep needs help there was so much over frost in the freezer it was crazy kind a look like a snow globe They do tend to have sales and occasionally I find things that are super cheap throughout the store though you do see open bottles and trash left on the shelf read more

This has nothing to do with the customer service. They were so friendly helping me with the problem I experienced. And honestly made me laugh through an uncomfortable purchase. I bought a vacuum from Walmart and it was used to the point where there was a pad in the vacuum. It spewed dirt all over my floor, and I was disgusted to find the other things that I mentioned priorly. I am appalled and it's made me uncomfortable to buy anything like this again from Walmart. This includes pillows and comforters and vacuums, and anything else that I could buy dirty from in store: This was unfortunate, because I really wanted a vacuum. The customer service helped me with the return amazingly (so this again is nothing to do with them because they were great!), but I'm still mad about the purchase itself. First time at this store and was far away from home. I needed to return a few items from Christmas. A huge ground level parking lot is in front of the store. This is a large strip, so even though large and can locate a space it just may not be close. I did not see any debris in the lot, or walks upon entering. A staff person directed me to customer service. The line was not long on a weekday evening. The woman who assisted me was efficient and processed the return quickly. Unfortunately with no receipt they provided a gift card. I like that Target can process a return using your credit card. Since I had a gift card I went in the store to look for an item. The store seemed clean and organized enough to me. However, they did not have Horizon chocolate milk. So this would mean going to another Walmart which was a hassle. I would return to this store. Busy location. It can be hard to navigate the parking lot. Usually very busy. The store itself is pretty messy. I think they don't have enough staff because it is hard to get help to find something and wait at check out can be long This store isn't the same footprint as most Walmart store so it can be hard to find things I have found that the selection is often picked over and the supplies are not consistent. When I look for clothes, many sizes are missing And then there is no staff to help I have found that I avoid going here because I have been frustrated so often read more

Some positives and negatives from my experiences here: Positives- Greeter on the grocery side is very friendly. Prices are very fair. Self check out seems to run pretty efficiently. Electronics and outdoor departments are usually well staffed and well maintained. Negatives: The produce department does not have the best assortment of fruits and vegetables, with a lot of the produce being dirty or beaten up. The dry goods are picked out pretty regularly which is, I assume, why employees are stocking the shelves constantly with pallets and carts out on the floor. I've purchased numerous damaged or opened products that I've had to return over the past few months that seem to stay on the shelves instead of getting taken to the back. This could be because of how busy they are, but it's detrimental to driving a customer service culture. For the home departments, the clothing can be hit or miss. Sometimes it is well maintained, other times it looks like a tornado touched down. The aisles with frames, candles, and rugs always seem to be in disarray. The parking lot isn't the easiest to navigate in and out of either with no clear travel path to the traffic lights, so people drive through parking spaces and cut across the parking lot pretty regularly, adding some risk while entering and exiting. read more

I think we are quick to report the negative (esp when it comes to Wal-mart), but I also think it's just as important to voice the positive too. The WORST shopping experience I have ever had and it had absolutely nothing to do with COVID(although, product availability is limited, as expected at no fault of the store). The produce looked like zombie skin. Literally rotting. All of it. Very dirty store, nothing is in the right spot, everything is so close together that you're literally bumping into people everywhere you turn. This is the worst, most outdated Walmart I have ever been to. Wal-Mart is one of those places that is a necessary evil. They want you to believe that they are in business to save you money; that's not completely true, by the way. Like every other company they are in business to make make money. They have just found a more ingenious way off making money for themselves while saving it's customer a few dollars in the process. Even after completely this review, I will shop at Wal-Mart; it's a necessary evil in my financing needs. It aggravates me, however, that their policies and lack of trained staff bothers their customers, but doesn't bother them. Today I went to Wal-Mart for a watch battery. Finally, a rather unfriendly associate showed up at the jewelry counter and basically asked me what I wanted. I explain that I needed a watch battery, she looked at the watch, and basically said, "We don't do these watches. We replace batteries in only Wal-Mart brand watches." Well, first of all, what is a Wal-Mart brand watch? I didn't see any Great Value watches for sale there. How anyway would she know if I purchased this watch from Wal-mart or not? She didn't know and wasn't going to lie to her anyway. I asked if Wal-mart had changed its policy. She basically said, "Yes", then began this story about someone's $300 watch where the crystal was broken while trying to replace the watch back. "We had to pay to repair that and our manger said NO MORE," she said. I then asked if I could remove the back and replace it myself. She said, "Yes, but you can't use our tool!"....Yes, with an exclamation point. I just gave her a sarcastic "Thanks" and moved on. My problem is (and it can probable be tested) that Wal-Mart doesn't have a company-wide policy on watch battery replacement. I went to the same Wal-Mart a few months ago to get the same battery, but they didn't have it because there was some kind of battery shortage, they said. Nothing was ever said about me not using their tool to open and replace my own watch back. I've done it before. If if breaks, I'm taking full responsibility for that because the clerk will actually never touch my watch. Message to Wal-Mart.......I contend if you have a jewelry section, you should service watches -- all watches. CC to Target. If you are not going to, first, train your staff to do this job, then get rid of the jewelry section. Even if you decide to keep the jewelry section with selective service, I would love for someone to teach the associates there how to talk to your customers. They can smile a little more, use more polite language, and say, "I'm really sorry about this", as a politeness. I feel they are just looking to schuss you away. I try to avoid this place as much as possible. The customer service is terrible. They never have any lanes open. The self checkout is how I usually try to go but they have lines now. The cashiers never greet you and seem like you are a bother. Most of the time they are talking to another worker. I took this picture this morning because I guess this is time to go at 8 in the morning no one around but only one register open. I would turn around and go to either the walmart in Chesapeake Square or College Drive. I hate this walmart. Always dirty, crowded, and most of all....the customers are really the ones I cant stand here. Rude, dirty, 20 kids running loose, foul mouth, dressed inappropriately. My wife just left this store after buying a few items, one of which was a box of wood. When she was leaving the door greeter yelled at her saying "what dis is you aint pay fo dat" when it clearly said box wood on the receipt and when my wife showed her i guess she didnt know what wood looks like and kept yelling this time saying " somebody need ta check her out she aint pay fo dis stuff" drawing attention to my wife and embarrassing the hell out of her. I have now called the store 16 times. That's correct, 16 phone calls trying to reach someone at the front desk or in the pickup department. The only department capable of answering the phone is electronics, but they just transferred me to the front desk, where no one answered. I have a 45 minute round trip to pick up something I already paid for, and no one is able to speak to me to tell me if it's ready. Ridiculous. read more

I recently returned an item to the store I ordered online. They did not properly return the item or misplaced it entirely. After several weeks and no reimbursement for the item. I began contacting the customer service phone center with no help. After speaking and emailing countless employees with no avail. For anyone thinking of doing an online order STOP!!!. This Walmart like every other Walmart has terrible customer service and apparently the worlds worst cashier training and checkout process. I'm pretty sure that their hiring process requires selecting from the lowest end of the skill set application starting wit their managers. There are never enough cashiers (registers) open. Long Lines mean extreme frustration while you watch the inefficient carousel checkout system. Walmart needs to study and adopt the military's commissary system. Products are okay...you can get them anywhere but I will pay more if I can avoid the terrible customer service experience. read more

I recently came here to get some keys made. I go back to the area, look aisle by aisle to find the worker for that area. She was stocking shelves, no biggie for her not being at the register cause she did have other things to do. Understandable. So I go up to her and say excuse me are you the one that does the keys? She's looking right at me yet no reply. I figure ok maybe she spaced out and saw me talking but didn't process what I said cause she was busy. I've done that so still no biggie. So I ask her again. She literally doesn't say a single word, she turns and walks away from me. I was standing there like I know she didn't just blatantly walk away. So I walk back over to the key area and apparently that's where she went. She finally speaks and asks if I needed a key made? I wanted to blast her because she was so incredibly rude but luckily for her my mom and niece were there so I didn't want to cause a scene. I could not believe it when I read her tag but she's a MANAGER. The blonde manager in that area. She had absolutely zero customer service skill or even basic manners. It's no wonder that most of the associates there have such piss poor attitudes. Look at their managers. There are a few awesome cashiers and associates and if I don't go thru self checkout, I look for my fav cashiers. I've stood in longer lines so I can deal with them. It takes longer but at least I don't leave the store thinking how in the hell does that rude you know what keep their job? Oh ya, the rude managers allow it. read more

Grocery service bites. I live 45 minutes away, and at the time I needed to leave for my appointed pick up time, no e-mail to confirm order was ready. It actually arrived after I called them and left. I had to call to get confirmation order was ready, which meant sitting on hold. I was not informed the order was not nearly complete. I found this out after arriving at pick up and waiting for 10-15 minutes for my turn. They tried a sub for part of the order, which I rejected. They were polite, but that's about all I can give them. Now, I am waiting for a refund of the part of the order they rejected. On hold again, trying to get answers. They are supposed to call me back. Can't answer my very basic question. Compared to some of the Walmarts I've shopped at, this place is a dump. Dirty, usually out of everything, or stuff is out of date (I had fun last year with finding the same yogurts go from 2 months out of date to 5 months out of date, before they were finally removed), gross, scary people, rude customer service. The produce section is horrible. Good luck finding a tomato that is not 40 minutes away from being spoiled, or bags of veggies that don't expire tomorrow or the day after. I always use the self-serve lanes, since the cashier lanes? They'll have just a couple open, each with a dozen people in line, with the screaming kids and over-full buggies. If I even bother to go, I'll go in very early morning, Sunday, then take a shower as soon as I get home. It also ends up costing the same, if not a little less at Food Lion. read more

Count your groceries when you leave even if it embarrasses the cashier, they seem to have a problem with getting your items into the bags on the carousel (a stupid idea in the first place). I have had steaks (imagine that!), laundry detergent, etc come up missing and I don't believe that it's accidental. I think that the carousels make it too easy for register workers to skim a little here and there and for many people like myself, it costs more in fuel to make another trip there and back to retrieve the "missing" items than what you spent for them. read more

Worst Walmart I have ever stepped foot into, and unfortunately, it's the only one within a reasonable distance to my house. I give it 2 stars rather than one because it is Walmart, with almost everything under the sun and low prices. That comes at a great sacrifice. The parking lot is redonkulous. Words cannot explain how bad it is. Cars have near collisions every few minutes. There are a bagillion handicap spots, and the only close non-handicap spots are at lawn and garden, which always has a long line at its single register without a moving belt. So basically only check out in this area if you can carry all your merchandise. I have never seen so many empty shelves as I regularly do at this particular Walmart. The same items that I came looking for 3 months ago still aren't available. Whoever does the inventory needs to be fired. The store is dirty, unorganized, and the staff seem like they would rather be dead than working there. read more
