Their telephone service is deplorable. I was calling just to see if they carried a specific laptop charger, the employee who works on Sunday mornings in Electronics was actually the worst. He picked up the phone and immediately put me in hold, he didn't even give me a chance to say what I was calling about. Then after waiting 10minutes on hold to no reply, I hang up and call back... 3x with no answer! So I call the store's general query line and she's about to transfer me to electronics after listening to my electronic specific request - to which I tell her I've already called Electronics 4x to no avail, to which SHE says, "that's impossible I'm looking at him in Electronics now!" Great. So she finally transfers me to him, the phone rings for about 2 whole minutes before he lazily answers it and says immediately says, "no we don't carry those chargers in-store." Literally, he could've answered that in 2 seconds the first time. I work in telecommunications and I KNOW what messy phone etiquette looks like and what I experienced today was worse. He's never going to get anywhere in life if he continues to treat people like their a funny joke. read more

Walmart located in Valley Stream, I wouldn't recommend my friends / family or my enemies to go here and shop and thinking that store pickup would be an easier experience it was the worst experience ever. My experience with pickup was absolutely horrible. First there was an email sent to me of a time frame window between the 13th and the 15th my package will arrive and be ready. I called on the 15th in the late hours of the afternoon and a walmart rep answered and stated that they're backed up and will try to get to it as soon as they can, if I like to call back later to find out the status. I did call back and the same status they're backed up and unable to get to it today. I called again the 16th to find out the status of the package and the same thing like the day before they're really backed up and unable to get to it right now and for me to call back later to find out the status. By then I decided to go on Walmart.com and did a chat with a customer service rep and they apologize for the inconvenience and gave me a 10% off of my order and also told me that according to the email sent the day it's supposed to be ready please allow additional three business days for it to be processed in the store. The customer service rep said he'll contact the store and put a rush on my order. I called on the 17th in the afternoon and spoke to another representative they said that they're backed up and they may get to it today. On the 18th around 6 pm I receive an email and a text stating that my package is ready to be picked up. Me being excited rushed to the store and there was a wait, a long line. There wasn't enough walmart associates in the pickup area to handle the packages. After an hour went by I finally reached the front of the line gave my information to the Walmart associate and he explained that my package was on the truck. Standing there confused I asked him what did that mean and basically it's been scanned for pick up but is still outside and it needs to be bought inside by another Walmart associate. Looking at the time I realize I've been standing there waiting for almost 2 hours on my package I then called the store while I was still in there ask to speak to a manager, the associate asked if I was in the store I replied yes and she told me to walk down to customer service. I spoke to a manager explaining my situation she told me sorry for the inconvenience that they're going to try to get it to me as soon as possible, I also mention the work conditions that you have the workers working in the truck area with no light is horrible. Her face expression look like she was unaware of that. Finally another associate came up with the idea for me and the other people who were waiting for truck items to go to the truck area to pick up our material. I proceeded with that information headed to truck area gave them my name and it were three walmart associates using their phone flashlight in the truck trying to locate the material. Today I got to pick up some cleaning supply with my Autistic kid I didn't expect to get disrespected by an employee called Jeff who was on the aisle where the cleaning supplies were at. I was about to turn into the aisle with my cart and all of a sudden he goes and move the maintenance cart on to my way blocking me and I waited in disbelief for him to say something, for the reason he was blocking the aisle, he said nothing and then I pushed the cart a little so I can turn and he started to scream you can't even say excuse me instead of pushing the car tout the way. I said are you insane I was about to turn and you blocked me and my child and he started to call me a lots of disrespectful word like B*tch, stupid, dumb. I was very offended on top of that my son was shaking because he was just yelling mean things towards me. I reminded him he's an employee and I am the costumer and I deserve respect and I did not disrupt him in any way. He should of alerted me and tell me the reason why he blocked the aisle for example," hey ma'am the aisle is blocked because there a wet spill". I as a costumer would of understood and came back later. Probably shopped for something else, But he didn't instead started to yell mean things and I couldn't believe it. Two managers went towards the seen no-one asked me if I was ok instead they went and asked if he was ok and ignore me completely. I am usually a HUGE fan of walmart and have been to over a dozen in different states. Saying that, this walmart is by far the worst. The failed attempt to be organized is accredited to the 90%+ of its employees who really just dont care about their jobs. You hear them talking like they are at a keg party, cursing and yelling in front of customers with their kids. They will give you the most burdened attitude if you ask them for assistance of any kind. On one instance, i was redirected to THREE WRONG departments to find a citronella candle in the middle of summer. Finally, after 30 minutes of searching and being mislead, one worker actually walked me over to the right area (seasonal) and i gave him a $10 tip because i was so thankful. The employees here is the major reason this place rates so low. Parking is a pain, because everyone from queens and brooklyn comes to this one being its the closest location to anywhere in the city. The prices are pretty standard. They hold similar if not equivalent to other walmarts, just good luck finding the item you want. I still go to this walmart regularly because of the distance. I love going into any other walmart and feeling overwhelming joy knowing that there is a walmart that is as decrepit as this one. This walmart rates two stars instead of one because it is still a walmart with low prices and potentially large selection of different items, as well as the handful of employees that actually try to be professional at their jobs. read more

I called the store to see if they had an item in stock so I wouldn't have to drive all the way over there only to find out they didn't have it. Being as I've worked in retail for the past 4 years, I know that sometimes it can take a while to check inventory so I always do my best to be patient. The first three times I called, whoever picked up must have not realized they picked up the phone because all I heard over the line was a inappropriate conversation between two associates. The fourth time I called, someone finally answered propperly and I gave them the specs on the item I was looking for. They told me to hold on and put me on hold. AGAIN, I am a very patient person. I was on hold for 28 MINUTES. That is just excessive. It doesn't take 28 minutes to see if you have an item in stock. So I figured okay maybe they forgot I was on hold. I call back again and asked for the item once again. After being on hold for 10 minutes I hung up. Screw it, I have better things to do than idle near my phone waiting for some one that will never give me the information I need. I will take my money elsewhere. The employees here need to learn how to be more professional. read more

I just spent two hours making six calls to this store to see if they have a bike I'm looking for. You cannot understand what they say when they answer the phone. Each time I had to say, "Is this Wal-Mart?" They immediately put me on hold and never came back. All six times! Sometimes i waited for 20 minutes. I live in FL and am coming to LI next week and am trying to figure out whether to buy the bike here and bring it in my car or buy it there. I just want to know if they have the bike. I received a partial refund from Walmart, who claims that the balance of my money was taken by T-mobile. I made several trips to get this matter resolved. I just called Walmart in Valley Stream to get information about my Walmart.com order that I had shipped to the store. I thought I would have to go to Electronics but was told that there is a Walmart.com area for deliveries such as mine. The woman was very informative she told to to park near the grocery area because Walmart.com is to the right of grocery. I asked if they closed at midnight and she informed me that they close at 9:00 pm and open at 9:00 am. Hmmm I think I will do business again with Walmart and Walmart.com. I have visited the store twice before and have had a great shopping experience....both times I was there very early in the morning and the store was practically empty. read more

I've been going to this Walmart for years since it's the closest to my house. Before today, I would have given the store a three. However, after what happened earlier today, I have to say 1 star. I had come in a bit before 1:30 and was purchasing some items at the pharmacy. I was the last customer before their lunch break, but after an issue with my purchase, the cashier had to cancel the transaction. I would have expected the cashier to start the transaction again to finish with the customer she was working with before going on her lunch break, but she tells me she's closed because it was time for her lunch break and begins to walk away. Excuse me? What about finishing with your last customer BEFORE you start your lunch break. Eventually, the manager came and finished my purchase, but she had the attitude of "Well, it's time her lunch break! Your transaction was over when she had to cancel it after the problem with the system." I was ok with this store until this happened. Even though employees are entitled to their break periods, you DO NOT leave your last customer halfway through their purchase just because it was a minute later than the scheduled lunch time. read more

I then went to the front to ask about a pot I found v er y damaged on the floor but it was the pot I needed.. so I polity walked up to a woman and she asked if I had my receipt so I could have at that point walked out with the pot... she then began yelling at me that if that's the only one... then that's the only one they have.. an d that if I want it it will be 10 percent off... on ce 3 again yelling to the point I have anxiety and I began to cry.... at that point I decided I had been in walmart for 45 mins and literally did not receive any help or abything.... and left my cart in the entrance right before you leave at 1115 pm on Aug 31 with over 60 dollars in my cart and decides not yo give the store my money.... this experience was in creditable for how bad and stressful a walmart can be when the wrong employees work there.. I went to target everything the next morning. The idea that an employee would state wow you really need it... for a product being bought in there store is crazy and people need to learn to stop shopping at bad customer service store because they are just feeding into it!!! read more

I will never go back to this location. I did my baby registry there and received duplicate items,so I Attempted to return the items that I already had,so of course I am pregnant ,so my husband went with the items and spoke to the security to confirm where customer service is located to be informed by the associate that this is not our item after he waited for over 30min in a line while staff just played around good thing I tool my chair then frustrated he said forget it I told him no we are returning these today and I pulled up my registry and to my surprise the items were there. He was just annoyed as he was walking out he was stopped by another security stating he stole the items then taken to the back and the same security he confirmed with upon arrival then came and did not even state that he saw when he entered. A manager came who stated we do sell those items at Walmart we have them in this store. My husband then told me to step away because I was getting worked up and that is no good for a pregnant woman. When he turned around there was Nassau police standing there then they checked the cameras and saw that he came out of the parking lot loaded the items out of his car and entered the store with the items and went straight to customer service. Only one individual offered an apology. I have not been so humiliated in my life; I felt the pain and embarrassment for my husband I told him I want more than an apology even if it was a gift card or a court order he was so annoyed he took the items home and stated lets just leave this alone,since it occurred with him I respected his wishes. I said I will NEVER return to this location he stated he will NEVER return to ANY WALMART and I then agreed with him , the worse part is Walmart is slacking I am beginning to see cheaper prices elsewhere. I told friends and family to stay away and help them look for items cheaper, I told a friend to remove Walmart off her registry and she did just that, I go out of my way to purchase items other places and ship them out for my college bound relatives out of state who live for Walmart and they are spreading the word as well. I hope we never have to step foot into a Walmart again because if something of such occurs again I am definetly taking it further if my husband like it or not. This is by far the worst store in the world! The customer service was horrible, there was a sales associate walking around sucking her thumb (literally). Most of the things i needed for remodeling my bedroom were out of stock, too many empty shelves. I called the next day to see if the paint color i needed had come in, and was put on hold for 10 min and then hung up on. The store itself was disorganized and unkempt. I was absolutely appalled. The loud speaker doesn't even work properly, it took 15 minutes to get an associate for the department i needed. I love Walmart for its great deals and prices but the trip from queens to valley stream is not even worth it. The customers don't help, they contribute to the mess. There was a man fighting with the associate at the door because he wanted to check his bag and i thought i was going to get caught in a cross fire. I don't think people in that neighborhood deserve to have a Walmart and the sales associates don't deserve to work there. They should be grateful to even be employed during this economic recession. Truthfully, the store manager and the district store manager should be embarrassed that their team lacks a whole lot of customer service. I know because I am a customer service rep. and i wouldn't have a job if i didn't provide good service. This is the worse Walmart or should I say Ghettomart that I've been too. Long lines, rude ghetto looking customers. I went here recently and after being there for 2 minutes I felt my blood pressure going up. People blocking the aisles with their shopping carts and when you say excuse me, they look at you like they never heard the words "excuse me" before. The aisles are narrow which doesn't help. Kids yelling, Grownups yelling...I could hardly wait to leave. Then there's the long lines..OMG, I felt like putting my shopping cart to the side and walking out. I spent 20 minutes on a line, not moving. One of the customers was buying items with EBT, the cashier was slow which didn't help. Each EBT voucher had to be inputted manually by the cashier. There must have been 10 vouchers! I finally paid for my items and practically ran out. For me personally, the prices are great but, the hassle and stress is not worth it. read more

Scary!!!! Violence hoovers over this area, and the parking lot is designed to promote road rage. While in the store with my son, I noticed very aggressive behaviors from some of the patrons. We were careful not to bump into anyone, in this over crowded store. After waiting on a very long line, I was relieved to exit the store without an incident, however that did not last. While attempting to exit the mall parking lot (Which took about 1/2 hour due to congestion) a driver tried to enter into the congested north bound lanes from the east, even though there was no entrance. He almost rammed our car and another car. Ok, that was bad enough, but then that driver began leaning out his car window cursing at us. I thought, how does this make sense? He then became confrontational. I told my son not to say anything, the guy appeared angry and anxious to hurt someone. We escaped unscathed, but we will never venture into that territory again. read more

as you know the holiday season can be stressful but thanks to technology online shopping takes much of it away, sometimes. this past holiday i was going to purchase a flat screen TV for my Mom from Best buy when a co-worker told me Walmart had better deals. i go to their website and see a deal on a 42 inch Vizio smart TV bundle with Home theater and two 3D glasses. They had it in stock and upon delivery can be picked just in time for Christmas from one of their local stores. now here is where the nightmare begins,to my disbelief i get an email stating i have received a partial refund which will take 10 business days with no explanation. the holiday its literally days away so i wont be able to use that refund money in time. i quickly respond if the item i requested is no longer in stock i ask for a full refund. i am now told i can't receive a refund while my order is in transit. i am confused to what is actually being delivered. l receive an email stating the 42 inch Vizio was damaged during transit. Seriously to receive this after the fact was disturbing i mean how can a reputable company timing be so off. when i finally figured out what was actually being delivered i felt swindled, taken advantage of in a clear bait and switch tactic. to my surprise its the home theater along with the hdmi cords being delivered by Dec. 26th. why wasn't the TV replace with another one, why didn't i receive an explanation with my partial refund. why did Walmart take it upon themselves to sell this bundle package separately. This purchase was made Dec. 20th and this nightmare won't end until Jan. 10th when they state i will receive a refund if the items is not picked up. i tried calling their store to receive my refund sooner but i am just transferred to an extension no one is attending. Although i still came through for my Mom on Christmas the frustration I was put me through was unimaginable.
