My husband and I visited this location on two separate occasions. Both of us were flabbergasted, and left disgusted and wondering how long the store can possibly survive. Here are some of the things we observed. I waited 20 minutes to return one item. Ahead of me was a lady who apparently was receiving a large (over $700) cash refund. The young lady who was all by herself, was confused about how to do the transaction, and apparently unable to count the money. She counted and recounted, all the while looking overwhelmed and confused. There was no manager approval or anyone available to help her. When I went to shop, I observed patrons opening snacks and eating them in the store while employees stood around and did nothing. I also observed two patrons hiding items and walking out of the exit where there were no employees or security guards stationed. I asked three different people where the flashlights are, and got three different answers. I finally found one with a battery kiosk by the checkout. But, the line was so long at the register that I gave my items to one of the idle employees and left without making a purchase. Today, my husband observed similar behavior on the part of patrons, opening packages of food and eating them in the store unchallenged by any workers. When he went to use the self check out, the people ahead of him were not scanning all of the items, and ended up paying for less than half of them while another clueless employee looked on. I hope the management gets a clue and stops the hemoraging, or this store will not be around for long...and, people who do intend to pay for their items will not be back. read more

No stars from me!!! This place is absolutely THEEEEE worst walmart on the face of this earth! Ok walmarts are crowed-I know. Walmarts can get pretty trashed making it hard for you to find your items and I know that this may be the price you pay when prices are low but my god this is THEEE most laziest, rudest, useless, slowest staff That i have ever encountered during any shopping experience in my life! .....that is if you can find anybody to help you. When they see you coming, the turn the other way. No joke!!!! Seriously, quit your job if you don't like to work. I've been out to the Romeoville store, the north aurora store, the addison store and even the one off of north avenue on the west side of Chicago and have Never been so dissatisfied with service. The only reason I have been going to this Walmart is for the pharmacy. My monthly prescription is much cheaper than anywhere else and in an effort to pinch those pennies, I get it from Walmart. I can't lie, I had hopes that turning this mediocre place into a supercenter would have made it a little better. Oh was I wrong. The bakery was so small I didn't even notice it. The lay out is odd. Why is there an aisle of toilet paper and tissue between food aisles??? The customer service doesn't exist here either. I had to get a consultation for my script. Hey buddy, if you look, you will see I have been on BC long enough to know how to use it. The pharmacist took way too long to come talk to me, even after he acknowledged my presence and continued his loud, non work related conversation with his employee. I bought a few things since I was already there and too lazy to make a trip to another store. There were not nearly enough registers open, the lines were really long and barely moving. When I got closer to the front of the line, I knew why. The cashier was SO slow. I really have no words to describe my frustration. Now, I have been to other Walmart Supercenters and, while I will always prefer Target, the supercenter in Waukegan is very nice. The lay out is still odd but its much cleaner and the employees are much nicer. Sadly, my need and want to save money will keep me coming back to walmart for my script but I will probably transfer it to another walmart that may be a little out of the way but I don't feel like I need a shower the moment I leave. read more

Today I bought $90'worth of items at Walmart. When I got home, I realized I was missing items (about 30$ worth) but had misplaced my receipt. I went back and did not see the cashier who checked me out, so went to customer service and explained my problem. She got me a most helpful gentleman who I gave the cc number I had used to purchase the items. Given I use that cc every time I go there, he had me go pick some of the items I was missing, then was able to find the exact receipt from my purchase today. That provided the register number where I checked out and, bingo, it was not open when we got there but my 2 missing bags were theree under the register! He was so helpful and apologetic about me not getting them before I left (which, honestly, was my fault for not checking), I went back thinking I would have no luck, but this employee went beyond what was expected to help me! I wish I had gotten his name, he was extraordinary! read more

I have Always liked Walmart. This one seems to have problems. I have tried on three separate attempts to buy ammunition(which they have an abundance of) and left the store empty handed. The first time no one would show up to the ammo case after being paged. The second time I waited 20 minutes and several pages and then someone finally stopped by to tell me that there was no one in the store that could sell ammo. This last time I called ahead to make sure someone was in the store that could sell ammo and they assured me there was. Guess what? NOPE! Waited for a total of 35 minutes with two pages and even called the store phone number to get help. All they did was page someone. And no one showed up again. Rather than trying to help, all of the employees in the area seem like they are trying to avoid customers or are lazy. I used to work at Walmart in college. I would rate this review a 0/5 if I could. My brother and I paid a visit to the Walmart on route 83 in Villa Park in hopes of purchasing a cell phone, but all we did was waste a whole bunch of time. We had first gotten "help" from an associate in the electronics department who had "gone to the back to get what we needed," came back with an empty box, asked us to follow him to the checkout lanes and proceeded to tell us that someone at the checkout lane would be helping us out/ringing us out for the cell phone. We approached the sales associate (Gabe), but he was clueless and basically told us that there was nothing he could do. Okay, so I understood that maybe he wasn't able to assist since he was the ringer of the night, so I asked to please get assistance in the electronics department and the sales associate said there would be someone there to help us out. My brother and I headed back to electronics and literally probably waited around for 15 minutes for someone to help us; therefore, I had grown impatient and asked yet ANOTHER sales associate if there was anybody available to help us because we had been waiting for a while. The sales associate went back to the warehouse and came back to tell us that another associate would be with us soon. Time passed YET AGAIN and nobody came around to help. After completely losing my patience I decided to try once more and asked someone to please let an associate know that we need a cell phone from the back. The associate paged many other associates who had no clue what to do, but it just really seemed like there were many excuses being made just so that they wouldn't have to help us. I don't understand, we were very polite customers to the very end of the visit. My brother and I called it quits and gave up on these people, so we proceeded to the checkout line to purchase another item that I had in my hand. The line was pretty long but I decided to wait it out and see if it would pick up. The sales associate (Gabe) clearly knew there was a long line, but continued to bag at the pace of a snail, KNOWING there were people who needed to be checked out and the worst part is that the customers only had a few items each. This particular Walmart needs to make some better decisions when it comes to hiring, and this is coming from a business major. I'm never one to write reviews this long, but come on. This is one of my favorite Walmarts. They have one of the best selections of product I've seen in a Walmart.This Walmart has a decent food section (even has refidgerated/frozen items) as well as a liquor section. I was at this store two weeks ago and astonished at how dirty it was. I had the unfortunate experience to use the ladies room. I have never been in bathroom as dirty as this one. The toilets and floor were absolutely filthy. It was soo bad that I will refrain from describing it in a public forum. The only reasonable facility was out of toilet paper. The shelves were bare and the retail space was also dirty. The checkout lines were long and the employees didn't seem to be in a rush to alleviate the lines or have the staff to open up additional registers. read more

I must comment on a horrible customer service situation I observed last night. A gentleman was attempting to purchase some Barbie dolls for his daughter's birthday, which he said was the next day. I say "attempting" because when the clerk tried to ring them up the register said they couldn't be sold yet. The gentleman stayed amazingly calm and polite as the manager told him he'd have to come back next Friday, Black Friday(the most chaotic and insane shopping day of the year) and then he could buy them as they were not yet for sale. She told him the dolls had been put out by mistake and there was nothing she could do. Although I am no fan of Barbie I was shocked that the manager refused to sell him the dolls. I had ordered my son's birthday cake from here and went to pick it up and to my horror they did not have the cake and could not even find my order sheet. 2 associates in the store tried looking for the cake and but even though they tried to help told me they did not work in bakery. I not only had gone in person to place my order but had called 2 days prior to confirm the order and could not believe it when they told me they never got an order! This is the worst experience I have ever had as I left to my son's birthday party and was even late as they took so much time trying to find a cake that was never made. I ended up just grabbing some cupcakes but was so disappointed that I could not give my son the cake I promised him. I would just like to say that I had to return a phone and a separate product related to it but I managed to lose track of the receipts. Big mistake! Customer service reps didn't quite know what they had and if you bought it off of Walmart.com, as I had for one item, it is considered a separate company. Ultimately, I was reimbursed for less than what I had paid for it and I wasn't too pleased. I talked to one manager who basically couldn't believe customer service would do that. I talked to another manager who listened carefully and said that when I come in again, customer service would have my information ready for me about my purchases ... and they did. I didn't know what to expect, so I had backup information from my credit card company. It wasn't needed and I was fully refunded rapidly. read more

After being highly recommended to order chicken from Walmart for my sons birthday, I decided I would just order from here. I called on Tuesday to place the order for Saturday for 75 pieces of assorted fried chicken. I had asked someone on Saturday if they would pick it up and they forgot, so by the time I was able to go there I was two hours late picking it up. My bad. We get home with the fried chicken, open it up and see that it's completely burnt almost if they had cooked it twice. It was my mistake for not looking at it before I left the store. I had no other choice but to serve it to my 40 something guests. I went back today with half the disgusting burnt black chicken that didn't get eaten and brought it to customer service. The customer service lady we spoke to was extremely nice and helpful. She walked us over to the assistant manager who was extremely nice and apologetic. He called the deli supervisor over who was extremely rude and defensive from the get go who blamed everything on me being late picking it up. I told her(the deli supervisor) I was embarrassed that I had to serve that to my guests. She then told me "you should be embarrassed of yourself that you served chicken to your guests that sat out for two hours." Then she continued to yell and belittle me and basically blame everything on me. I am completely disgusted with the way I was treated by her and will be calling corporate to speak to someone about it. I have never in my life been treated the way I was by someone like I was by their employee. If I could give this place a review of -40, I would. Don't ever order food from here...EVER. read more
