Better know what you're looking for, and have blueprints of the store. They know less :| Terrible, terrible, terrible customer service. I don't care if I was there so late at night, it's a 24 hour store, you don't put your C+ team on the floor all at once because you don't think people will come in. After figuring out by myself where everything was, I left the store sans $200 and pissed. As I mentioned, one employee in the automotive department was helpful. Almost too helpful. But was able to to point me in the right direction, unlike others, who send me to 'Chemicals' to find 'Garbage Cans'. Really? Okay. Next person in line to help, please.....oh, we don't speak English. Great. Everything was everywhere, it was difficult getting through the store, unless you ran hurdles in high school and still had the skills. I'd recommend this particular Walmart as a last resort place to go during after hours. If you're in a bind, I'd opt to let that bind settle until the next day and work it out at another store, because I don't imagine that the service or organization of the store would be any better with their A team on. read more

I had the misfortune of dealing with Anant the store manager. I had a coupon on my phone which had a barcode. The coupon said that it was only redeemable at Walmart. Well, when the check out girl scanned, she scanned the wrong portion of the barcode but she was probably newer but pleasant and called her manager. She tried to get it to work and asked Anant to put it through. He couldn't be bothered to help and brushed me aside and said they don't accept this coupon. Didn't even read that it was a walmart coupon. I left irritated but did return with a copy of my so called invalid coupon and it scanned no problem. Had the manager taken the time to care of his customers the way she should, they wouldn't have lost this customer. I will stick to the Darien location for sure from now on. read more

After being a long time city girl, this Wal Mart is a breath of fresh air. The Wal Mart near my old house (cicero & grand ave) is the worst! This Wal Mart is clean and fully stocked. Give the new bakery a chance. I ordered cupcakes for my daughter's birthday party because my sister in law had told me they were very tasty at her local Walmart's bakery (in Pennsylvania). They were delicious and decorated beautifully! For a kids' party they were perfect. And at less than $6 a dozen - it's a no brainer really. Just give them a try. read more

One of the better Walmarts. Nice and usually clean. All the cashiers I've had, have been friendly and quickly checked me out. For the people complaining about the lay out, they switch it up obviously so that you will spend more money. They out the things you really need further back so that you have to walk past all the stuff you'll want but don't need. That's retail 101. If you don't know where something is just ask. Doesn't matter how annoyed the employee gets that's their job to assist you. If they don't like it perhaps they should seek different employment. read more

This place is a living nightmare. Items are poorly stocked, the lines take forever- even self checkout is ridiculous. I still haven't come across a decent, well-kept Walmart location in the surrounding Chicago burbs. Nothing like the commercials. The only thing good about this place is that items are competitively priced. That's it! If you want to save money, shop here and not only will you take home groceries, but you'll also have a horrible headache and leave with a general feeling of disgust and loathing. I don't think the previous reviewers, Liza or Robert, have ever been to the Walmart in Forest Park or in Chicago on North Ave., but they would LOVE this Walmart if they did. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this Walmart location! I just went here Sunday afternoon and spent about 2 hours in there! The store was so clean and everything was where it was supposed to be. My girlfriend and I were shopping for household items and things for her b-day party. There were so many party plates, silverware, and decorations to choose from. They had every color you wanted and had plenty of it in stock. They had really cute baby clothes that I bought for my niece. And of course what we all love about Walmart, everything was pretty cheap! I will drive out here from Oak Park just to shop cuz it's sooooo much better than the Walmarts in or around the city. read more

Don't waste your time! Customer service is terrible. I'm ungodly dissatisfied with this store. I'll save myself the grief & travel to the one off of Des Plaines from now on. Sadly, their employees don't care about how they present themselves re: their attitudes. 2 women at the registers told me they can help me at customer service. Once I get there, the lady says she can't "do that". Haven't you ever had any training in customer service? The proper answer is "let me see what I can do for you." I cannot emphasize how horrible working with this Walmart pharmacy is. I have been using them because they work with my insurance, but they regularly do not put prescriptions through my insurance. No one knows what they are doing, and every time I pick up a much needed prescription they screw it I up! Even the pharmacists are no help. Bathroom was dedicated, call for service switch was on when I came and and when I left the store it was still on and in worse shape. Do NOT go here for price matching! Ok, so I am not a Wal-Mart basher. I like to go here to do my grocery shopping. However, the Villa Park location has done everything in it's power to make sure that I don't go back to it again. Simply put, I wait for the weekly ads and find out who's got what the cheapest. I make a list and bring in my set of ads and stock up for the week. I usually go to Elk Grove and have never had problems there. Actually, I often see the same manager thanking me for bringing the business to his store. Just a brief rundown... checked out with John. Did not seem happy that I was price matching. Everything that I price match, I put on the belt with its matching ad and keep them separate. He read 'everything' on each ad. Size requirements, dates of ad, brands, etc., which is his right to do so, but I wasn't trying to pull anything over on anyone... He didn't want to price match my lunch meat or cheese from the deli I bought ground beef (a 2.25# package) The ad had it for $3.99. He was trying to do the math in his head. I didn't want to give him the answer, since this was in the middle of my trip and he had already pissed me off. After a min+, he asked me to get out a calculator and do the math for him. I told him it was $8.97 and he didn't enter it right away... like I was lying. I was trying to buy a pound of baby carrots. The ad stated Grimmway (sp?) as the brand. WM doesn't sell that brand, so he wouldn't do it. I tried buying a brand name bacon. WM only carried the 12oz size, so I took up WM's brand for the 1lb size to match their ad. John had asked the cashier next to him and she said no. I told her that this WM does not sell the 1lb size and she started arguing with me - repeatedly. Shredded cheese. My ad was for the Centrella brand. I tried buying WM brand. Would not do it! It's not like I'm asking for Sargento... or even Kraft... i was trying to purchase WM's brand. At this point I just wanted out. I had some other items that were priced as 10/$10, but there was no disclaimer that you had to buy 10 to get that pricing. They wouldn't budge on that either...said I had to buy 10 of them to get that pricing. Even though i could walk into the other store and buy one of them for a $1 and walk back out again. I spoke to the manager afterwards and she didn't seem to care all that much. Said she would talk to the cashier that was argumentative. She stated that this is this store's policy to follow exactly as the ads state. She gave me the example of soda. If it was 3/$7, the customer has to buy three of them to get that pricing. I tried explaining to her that I go to Elk Grove, Addison, and Glendale Heights and all of them would sell me one case for $2.33 and not bat an eye. I told her that I have never encountered an experience like this one today and will be doing my grocery shopping somewhere - ANYWHERE else. I just went to this one today because it was on the way home from where all my other errands led me. Never again. read more

I am giving this a 3 stars for Walmarts. I wouldn't compare it to other stores but for what it is I think it deserves 3 stars. This Walmart is better than the one by my house where you always have to stand in line for at least 10 minutes and flies are biting you while you are standing in line. The lines here aren't too bad. I have only been in here real quick to get a frozen dinner before work and to the book section, but both of those areas appeared to be fine. A very nice store, clean, well stocked, aisles were neat and employees were pleasant and helpful. I am used to Walmart's being dark and messy stores, but this one sure out shines all others that I have gone to. The cashiers were quick and pleasant, thanked me for shopping and to have a nice day. I will definitely go back to this Walmart, most I try once and never return. Has large parking lot also. I am surprised at all the negative and hateful reviews of this store. I saw that they had Lighting Mcqueen toys on display for $3.88 and I was going to buy it for my sons birthday but when I went to go and ring out at the front of the store the price came out to be around $20.00 and I showed the assistant manager the picture I took and he said that they could not honor it. When they left to go see if the price was up on display they change it and took a new picture and showed me that it was different from what I took. So I asked to speak to the head manager and he would not come and speak with me the workers and the assistant manager kept telling him I wanted to speak with him and he refused to come out his office but he told them to give me 10% off the $20 and refused to honor the picture I took. I always go to this Walmart because I have always recieved really good service even though I stay closer to the Walmart on Des Plains RD but I will not be going back there. read more

Horrible store ! Went to go get the black OPS 3 GAME and it had a SCRATCHED movie of JUNO and a scratched off 24 dollar play card. The game was supposedly locked in glass seems like the employees steal. Everyone seems to be on their phones when I went to the customer care center. One of the girls working there was having a full on conversation on her cellphone. I went right away to return it after opening it and they told me to go to the game website. No! I'm demanding a return and a full investigation if your employees are stealing.. hundreds of cameras and you guys as managers failed. read more

Most of the places you go nowadays just point you in the general direction of what you are asking for when looking for that specific something in the store. One of the managers at this location took probably 10 solid minutes out of his day to help me find exactly what I was looking for. Walmart associates are so very helpful. I needed to print out a picture for my sister's monument but the Kiosk was not working correctly...it ran out of paper. Britany was passing by and I asked if she could PLEASE HELP me to retrieve my pictures out of the Machine? Without a moment of hesitation she began assisting me...she searched for keys to access the paper needed for the kiosk after finding the paper ...I must remind you this was not her department nor something she does on a regular. After speaking with her I discovered that she was the stores security personnel. She had no clue on how to change the paper to help me retrieve the photos of my sister...lol. However she enlisted help of several other employees and together they assisted me. I may not remembered all of their names but they all were extremely helpful,patient and extremely Kind to me. Britney,Vanessa Michele and Roy I sincerely appreciate your generosity. I shop at this Walmart even more since that Awesome experience. Thanks once again! read more

Walmart prices are super low and when I'm on a tight budget or I need to buy in quantity, I'm glad they're there. To keep the prices low, I know that there won't be a great deal of help available to me. (Same deal in other big box stores) When I want to receive help or feel pampered I know that I'll have to pay more for it elsewhere. It's a tradeoff. read more

I would not recommend buying anything online for store pick up from Walmart. The item ordered (hydration pack) was missing the water reservoir and it didn't come packaged. It took 20 minutes to be helped by an associate and another 40 minutes to be seen by an assistant manager at the Walmart in Villa Park. The assistant manager did not provide any assistance whatsoever and couldn't recommend any solutions to my problem. He just stood there dumbfounded. When I asked if the item could be reordered with the proper equipment, he was unable to do so because "it wasn't his problem." Overall the store and management is in disarray and lacking respect for their customers. The quality of my experience was atrocious and simply embarrassing for the corporation. read more
