I generally absolutely love this particular Walmart location. My boyfriend and I are continually in there. We purchase our groceries, clothing, hunting gear, etc. We normally always have exceptional customer service when we are there. Recently in September, my boyfriend had heard about Walmart giving a great deal on some hunting arrows, so he of course got online and order them. We had a conformational email saying they would be in store at a certain time. We go into walmart to pick them up, and we were informed that there was a glitch in the system. The walmart website apparently typed in the amount wrong. The lady that was helping us was very nice and super helpful. Our order did end up getting canceled. We did speak to an assistant manager and he was extremely nice. He was one of the nicest Walmart employees that we had ever came in contact with while being in store. Another gentleman came into the store and he had purchased the same amount of arrows (three twelve packs). The guy had mentioned that the night before that another store did honor his arrows at the price of what it was on online. The young woman did order the arrows for us, and we were told they would be in on October 6th. Then my boyfriend received a call saying that the time would be pushed back to October 13th. My boyfriend received a call (today, oct. 13) that the order was cancelled, they cannot honor it like they said that they would. We did go into the store this evening to speak to a manager again. We were informed that the assistant manager is a hard ass and we need to really stand our ground. The assistant manager came over and was completely rude to us from the start. She did apologize, but she said that there is nothing anyone can do. She mentioned that it is walmart.com's fault and that they will not take any calls from the walmart store about this arrow glitch. She told us that online walmart website employees just continually hang up the phone so she is not able to speak to anyone regarding the arrows. My boyfriend and I ended up leaving to meet with his uncles (one of which was purchasing the same arrows). His uncle did also want to personally speak to the manager, we did go back to customer service and requested to speak to the assistant manager again. She came over and told us the same exact thing she originally told my boyfriend and I. Except this time she told us that she did speak to walmart.com but they just transfer her. We were told that the assistant manager, that told us that they would honor our arrows, got into trouble about honoring it and that he was on a week leave of vacation. We were informed that our walmart store does not work with their website whatsoever. There was a bit of going back and forth on how walmart has no true affiliation with the walmart website. This particular assistant manager proceeded to tell us that it is not customer services job (or her job) to fix any problems. She did end up proceeding to pull her cell phone out and play on it in the midst of trying to figure this situation out. The thing is that I completely understand if we were to order the arrows after they found out there was a glitch, but it was ordered and a confirmation email was sent to my boyfriends email. We were also already told it would be honored, the order was placed before any sign of a glitch was determined. This assistant manager from this evening was beyond rude to us. I cannot believe after the countless amounts of money that my boyfriend and I have spent at Walmart, we are treated extremely poorly for something that was out of our control. I am also beyond disgusted knowing that it is acceptable for this woman to speak to customers (or even other employees) the way that she did. I will probably never spend another dime at Walmart after being seeing how customers get treated by assistant managers, I will gladly take my buisness to Meijers or Target. read more
