A lot of merchandise in the middle of the store/walkways which made it actually difficult to access aisles and walk around other people because of all of the stuff in the middle of the floor. read more

Why do this Walmart even install "service buttons" on locked items when no one ever shows. Lines are always long doesn't matter what time of the day. The only service this Walmart provides is a simple "hello" when you enter. I give you that. read more

This has got to be the worst Walmart ever! Prices for Roma tomatoes are in same area not distinguishing the difference but the prices per pound say $0.97 on one bin and $1.28 on another bin literally 10 feet apart. Employee doesn't know what the difference was when I asked. Constantly there are limited or none at all produce bags to collect loose produce such as the tomatoes and if there are bags they are only in one area. Throughout the store prices are not clearly marked and there is never a "Coach" available. They lock up underwear and stuff and it take a long period of time to get someone with keys. And the checkouts are similar to all Walmarts. Lots of checkouts but 90% are closed and half the time here at this Walmart half the self checkout stands are closed to. The employees that push online shopping carts are rude or at least have no customer service skills or k ow what giving the right of way to customers first means. This sucks because of coarse they buy overstock items and sell them here to give customers better pricing but have you seen the produce? God all mighty! The produce here sucks. Dried up and almost spoiled so election on the greens. Raleys grocery has better food but people continue to shop at Walmart for price convenience. I'm done. Only buy food that is from is prepackaged such as chips and soda and coffee. The meat is over priced and the selection sucks too. I've just moved here to Yreka and I'm so disappointed in this Walmart store. The management sucks, the checkout employees are great. The guy in the money market section talks way too much but he's at least friendly and helpful once he gets to you. They get paid to work not socialize and it seems the mediocre employees just want a paycheck and that's it. It's a depressing store to visit. The cart guys can't seem to get carts in and I've heard over and over coaches calling over the intercom for all available employees to go collect carts. This Walmart should be shut down. Pricing on clearance items is hit and miss... a lot of the Halloween close outs that an associate verbally said were clearance items were not, and the manager was loathe to fix them. This store is an old Division 1 store with a smaller grocery selection, and seemed kind of cramped. Bathroom was disgusting too. Store needs a serious cleaning and staff retraining. read more

Both before covid and currently, this is the worst Walmart I have ever been to. *They are almost always out of bags (though self checkout seems to have plenty) and don't tell you until they're ringing up your items. *Twice ive been charged for over 100 bags and my option was to either wait in line and have my items re-rung and re-bagged or pay the balance and accept a gift card for the balance of overcharged bags. *There are never carts in the store...yet there are 200 or more in the parking lot cart corals. *Of the 12 or so lanes available, they only ever have 2 open. *If you need an item that is locked away (like dog poop bags, denture cream, or razors among dozens of other items), be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes for an associate to arrive after you push the button...and a number of times, the person who arrived didn't have the keys. Then they tell you to pick it up at the register and have completely forgotten to deliver it to the lane, making others wait in line as an associate finds someone with keys to go get it. *The phone number listed in the store for the store manager goes straight to voice-mail (on more than one occasion) and says that the mailbox is not setup. Ive emailed the store manager about concerns and never got any response whatsoever. *They have more people at the door checking receipts and thanking you for coming to Walmart than they do on registers. read more

I've even had one employee from the electronics dept be very rude to my 4 and 3 year old when all they did was say hi to him. By far the worst Walmart I've ever been to. Customer service is nonexistent here. Workers don't even do the bare minimum. The cashiers want you to give them a five star review even before checking you out, only to then give you a zero star service. On multiple visits I've learned that it's better to self checkout because I've been overcharged for items that aren't even in my cart. If you need to get an item that is locked up, don't even bother to push the ring button, no worker will come. Even if you flag a worker down, don't expect to get the item unlocked either. They'll pretend to get someone else to come unlock it, but no one will bother to come help you, which is a normal occurrence at this store. This Walmart only exists because there's no competition nearby and it's in a small town in the middle of nowhere. Bought snow chains that lasted 35 minutes. Got stranded in Shasta mountains for over 4 hours. I know things happen but when they said sorry, you don't get a refund on used chains no matter what. Extremely long time to wait for an associate in the hardware section. They locked all the tools in closets, because they suspect everyone as a thief. Than an associate unlocked tools and brought a purchase all the way to the cashier's register at the other end of the store (instead of checkout right in hardware department). Then we waited long time for the cashier. It's not worthy to waste time there, next time will order it on Amazon and get it on the next day. One of the worst Walmarts ever. read more

I understand being shortstaffed I really do. But I do not understand having such poor customer service in times of being understaffed if your staff cannot compose themselves enough to handle a situation by themselves understaffed I don't think that they need to be working a shift without a manager, shadowing them the entire time I just spent the last six hours of my day trying to exchange my voucher from Coinstar and absolutely nobody in the entire supercenter store is able to help me or knows any knowledge and how to help me. I am very frustrated. This is all of the money that I have at the moment and I would not have turned in the only change that I had in order to pay for anything had I known I wouldn't be able to get a $20 bill back by any of the 14 fucking cash registers in the store. I waited in customer service for two hours. I waited in line at cosmetics for 45 minutes I waited in line at aisle 14 as well for 45 minutes. I don't understand why I am not able to have anybody who is working a register, scan the voucher and give me back the change. This is truly one of the poorest stores I've ever been in my entire life and I am sorry for the county of Siskiyou that this is the only Walmart in our area. If I could, I would rate no stars, but Yelp won't allow me to do that so you get one shitty star from me. Went to Walmart today and brought my sweater JUST for Walmart, why does WalMart feel like a meat locker? Of course NO carts. All customers, even the elderly, had to go to the parking lot to get a basket. Usually when I go in, I try to hook 6 baskets together and at least bring 6 carts in. Not long ago I saw a lady standing there staring at me. Turns out she was a manager. She informed me that I didn't have to bring carts in. I informed her that there are many customers that struggle just to get into the store, making them go back out to get a cart is not very kind. She explained that they are short handed. I then told her there is no reason she can't go get carts. She explained that the managers were very busy. Hmmm, not too busy to watch another CUSTOMER bring carts in. The Store is okay but lacks in some products. Sometimes when you go in the inventory hasn't been replenished so you end up going to Raleys to complete your list. The help is nice but often the check out lines are under staffed. Given that this is a 100 mi round trip for many folks in the county it would be nice if management took better care of their customers. DO NOT ORDER FRON WALMART DELIVERY SERVICE. I tried this. They sent a very heavy box to the PO instead of my home address. Soup cans and a glass jar with no protection were tossed in to this box. All of the padding was at the wrong end of the box. Was shopping 10:00 am this morning, which was a Tuesday. Not surprisingly the produce section was pretty bare, just empty shelves. But it just seemed more empty today. this store always seems to have many sections of empty shelves. And then I walk past an employee yelling at what seemed to be a newer employee because it seemed she was doing inventory wrong, but she just kept getting yelled at. Used to love shopping here in the years after it opened. Great selection, low prices, on-the-ball service. Now it can be a trey dicey experience. Yesterday I went in and there were no carts in the foyer bay, something I'd never seen. So I asked a worker stationed in the front if he knew and he replied, "I know," dismissively, as if he knew and didn't care. No "Yes, someone's rounding them up now" or "Sorry, I'll get someone on it, thanks for letting me know". Just "I know". He might as well added "...and don't really give a flying leap." My review is directed to the pharmacy, specifically Brittany. We were traveling and my mother forgot her meds. We called and spoke to her, she reviewed Mothers prescriptions and took the time to call them into the Walmart pharmacy where we were near. We were able to pick up the meds and continue on our travels. Anyone who does business at Walmart pharmacy know how busy they are, both pharmacies went out of their way to help us. read more

The prices are good, and there is plenty of variety. But I can tell the staff is seriously over-worked. Every time I come here, the checkout lines are backed up into the isles, and less than half of the checkout lanes are actually open. But I don't think many people understand how these businesses work. Yeah I think they need to hire more people. But still... One time, I was standing in line when all the lines were like 8 people long! lol. And only 3 checkouts open. A man behind me said, "I don't understand why they don't just get on the loud speaker and tell ALL store employees to come up to the checkout stands, and ring us up." Well... For anyone else who wonders this-- Its because not all employees are able to work a register. Not all of them are trained for it. Working at the register is one of the highest paying jobs in pretty much any store, except for management. So a random, bottom-level employee cannot just step up and do it, on call. It requires a friendly disposition even when you are tired and in pain, or when a customer is rude, or you feel like you're ready to kill someone. It requires good math abilities in case there are any computer problems with the register. It requires extensive knowledge of the register's computer system, and payment method system. Some people pay with checks and there is a procedure for that. Some people pay half the total with cash, half with a debit card, and others use food stamps, etc-- so you have to know how to process all those types of payments, and mix and combine payment methods in the computer system. And it requires you to work at a constant steady pace, always on your feet. Not everyone can do all this, so only a few people are given this job. Please keep this in mind and try to go easy on those poor register workers, lol. read more

Save your sanity! Do not bother to even park here. If you must shop at Walmart keep going all the way to Medford. No unaccountable missing manager issues there or excessive California sales tax! One star rating, only because at least the poor overworked employees are nice enough. There is very little product to choose from. Normal sized items sold out, plenty of XS to sell. I understand those whom live in this area have no other choices to buy from, but when your standing in line here on a Sunday afternoon with only 3 lanes open out of probably 10, and we are an easy 10+ carts deep per available lanes someone needs to do something! Many elderly shoppers near me were also waiting in these long lines saying someone needs get help here to open up some lanes. So I, (I get infuriated seeing helpless peeps suffering needlessly) called the store from my cell phone and asked for a manager. I was left on hold for forever. As I was still waiting on my phone I approached an exhausted employee who looked embarrassed when they had to tell me that it's a scheduling issue. Then I went to the service counter and asked for the store manager. The clerk called him and asked him to come up front. As she had him on the phone she explained that I want to talk to him about the long lines. So I stood and waited forever as the employees did the best they could waiting for him. I asked who the manager is and all they knew was it was Michael but no last name. I waited many more minutes but no manager Michael! Shocking right?! The checker at the service counter said nobody has come to apply for available jobs. They claim they just don't have anybody around the area who wants a job there. Sad that in Siskiyou County, with such high unemployment, that they can't get help!? Or is it that management doesn't want to pay for more help?! Every time I shop at the Yreka Walmart I swear I'll never go again. It gets worse with every visit. A few months ago I needed to return an online order. It took three visits to the store, two calls to customer service, one call to the store manager and several searches online to finally get my money back. Even the female store manager made it clear that I was an inconvenience. Finally, Joe, in the returns department made things happen. This month, the busiest month of the year, Walmart started checking receipts as customers leave the store. Now you have to wait in a long line to check out and an even longer line to leave the store! Today I opened the box of Christmas cards I ordered from the photo center. The cards are ok, but they didn't even provide the right size envelops! Now I have to track down envelops because there is NO way I'm dealing with Walmart to attempt fixing the problem. Moral of the story: AVOID THE YREKA WALMART AT ALL COSTS! read more

As with other reviews, very few cashiers working, each with very long lines no matter the time of day or day of the week. Yes, most times you will need to bring in a cart from the parking lot as there aren't any inside the store to use. Whether you bring your own bags or hope they have some bags at the checkout line, apparently you are supposed to bag your own groceries, making the wait time in line much longer. We should be getting a discount on the price of groceries if we have to bag our own in a lane that is NOT SELF CHECKOUT. Unfortunately staying in the Mount Shasta City area for the summer season makes this Walmart the closest to shop at. Other grocery stores in CA are WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. read more

There are a few things about this Wal-Mart that really, really, upsets me. One, allowing dogs into the store, especially in the food area. (I do NOT mean therapy dogs, but the ones that are, like, purse puppies. On more than one occasion I have seen a dog lift his leg and urinate on different objects. Ewww! I had a recent incident with a purse puppy that snapped at me. Two, the handicap services here suck. There are plenty of handicapped spots in the parking lot, but at times there are no empty ones because idiots take the spots that are so marked, leaving customers like me (fibromyalgia) and hubby (who is an amputee) to park out in the middle of lot. Not one employee cares about that. If you are lucky enough to get a scooter inside, as you shop you can see kids riding them like toys, which means people who really need them can't use them. read more

Convenient location but the management treat customers with no respect they have a business to run first and foremost. On Thanksgiving day they start putting up signs for black Friday early in the morning so any one shopping would think that was the price but when checking out you get charged the full price. When I talked to the store manager about this she all but told my wife and I that we were idiots that being a red tag we should know that it was for black Friday. She definitely let us know that she didn't care what we thought she had a store to run. If they are going to change alot prices for a sale maybe the store should be closed while they are doing it. Extremely clean, well stocked, shelves in perfect order, restrooms clean, baskets in place, parking lot clean....you name it and it was on December 23 at 2:30PM. Unlike these nasty Walmart Stores in the SF Bay Area the people were friendly and didn't get aggravated when you asked for help. A good place overall. read more

I called to ask if an item was in stock and then to be sure I could park my rig here to shop and was blown away by how nice and helpful Rebecca (I hope I spelled her name correctly) in electronics and the manager here were. When I went in, the employees were all this way! The store was clean and stocked and the employees didn't seem to be browbeaten and stressed out as in so many others. The grounds were pretty too with flowering trees used. This experience made me want to come back for time off and explore the rest of the town and spend some tourist dollars here.
