I was looking for a watch phone and innocently looking through the ones on display without realizing that touching such would alarm them. My intentions were clean without malice. The self check out stands have been removed, and Walmart has elected to NOT hire additional cashiers to help with the massive load of customers waiting in line. Customers are waiting in line for 20 to 30 minutes in some cases. There is also no clear instruction on how the Walmart Scan & Go service works, so people that are not Walmart+ customers think they've scanned their $200 worth of groceries, only to find out at the checkstand that it will not work because they need to pay $15 a month to be a Walmart+ member and utilize the Scan & Go service. Those people are waiting in line twice, and so they're potentially standing in line for nearly an hour - and that amount of time does not count for the time spent shopping and entering everything into Scan & Go. It's completely unacceptable. My final visit to this Walmart store was on March 21 and I will not be returning to any Walmart for a very, very long time, if ever. read more

I bought the Fuji-film's Films from self-service and when I went back to get the item from the associate who is in charge of electrical products because the item was the papers of barcodes in the box and she said it is out-of-stock. So I went back to get the refund back but the manger racist us because we are asians and treated like we were the scammers and thefts. And she said she is going to check the cameras. She was supposed to treat us like customers but she didn't. She just didn't give a damn about that. I was very irritated with her kind of attitude. The Manager name was AMBER. This time we went at 10pm to pick up a very specific item. I took one star off because they only had one option for us to pick out. But I was still surprised that they actually had this specific charger for a digital camera. The price was also different in store and what was the listed price online but I'm not very familiar with their price match policy. Just wanted to share my experience with your store in Union City Ca today. Since your corporate office line doesn't have one phone number for a manager I thought I would try you. Today I stood at Walmart in UC CA for about 30 mins with not one person able to help. I called the store with the Google number and no one answered. Once again I pressed a button and asked 3 employees to help but not one had a key. We called people over the intercoms not one person came. Your employee at automotive had to leave customers in line to run and get some help although he used the intercome multiple times. This Walmart has declined in customer service tremendously and no one seems to care. You customer relations team let me know managers get weekends off and they will see my ticket complaint on MONDAY. Made an appointment for 11am. Got several reminders to be on time as the reservation would not be held for more than 15 minutes. Arrived 15 minutes early to find no-one at the service desk. Asked for help and Walmart employees kept ignoring my request for help. Looked for a store Manager and no-one knew how to find one. Finally got a manager and she found a service employee for me. I registered my car for service at 11:30 only to find that all the 10am service requests were still being worked on. The service employee could/would not give me an estimated time for my service. As a Walmart + member I thought I might get some better consideration. My reaction is to never go to Union City Walmart under any circumstances for anything. I used to go to this location years ago. It was better back then. Passed by this location because my husband was looking for a bike pump. It reminded us why, we do not go here. You have people that break into vehicles, too crowded, not much in stock, employees are unhelpful and rude. Since, it's COVID, most People do not practice social distancing. My husband got upset that another customer was pushing our 10 year old son out of the way, so she can look at an item on the same shelf. No excuse me, no social distancing. My husband wasn't having it. He told them that they were too close -and not to touch our son -and not to just push him out of the way. It was hard to find any employee to get assistance- and if we did find someone - they would say, they'll get someone to help- waited over 20mins . We left. I went to this Walmart because they were the only ones who have the BD alcohol wipes. These are best alcohol wipes; they are thick and have enough alcohol saturated the pad. Some brands are dry. Anyways, I wanted to secure my order so I went online to purchase and choose the pick up option. I went to the store on a late Monday afternoon. It was quite busy. The pickup is all the way in the back. From the cash registers, you can spot the big sign. There was no one at the pick up counter. There were employees passing by, but they weren't making eye contact with me. I was thinking maybe they were on break so I didn't want to bother them. I mean I would think if they were working they would ask me if I needed help or if someone was helping me. After 10 minutes of waiting, an employee comes up to me and asks, "Do you have your order number?" I suppose I was expecting at least a hi or a smile, but I also guess you shouldn't expect people who work in customer service for these things? Lol. I found my barcode and she got my items and I was done. When I walked through, the alarm went off and the lady at the door asked for the receipt so I showed her the sticker they placed on the bag and I was on my merry way. I hate this Walmart with a passion, it's always so messy and the service is ridiculous. I grab the attention of an employee who tried to completely pass me by. A shelf full of products with no barcodes and no one to help me figure it out. They had one avail at different bay area Walmart stores. I checked back over 3 days and decided to get up early and try to purchase it, since no one had yet. I went in store, found the blankets, asked for a manager because I wanted the ADVERTISED price. Manager Chalon came to speak with me. His 1st response was "that's not our website", I asked him to pull up Walmart.com on his phone...yep there it was! $1.00 avail in store "only 1 left". I asked him to honor the add and he said No its some kind of mistake. I told him I wanted him to do the right thing and help me...his response was "yeah right, good luck finding it, this is Walmart!" They are charging 10 cents per bag for a reusable bag during the Corona Virus Pandemic even when the governor signed an order saying the resusable bag fee for Plastic and Paper were banned. I just encountered the dumbest people ever to have worked at Walmart before and this was my first time at this location! I wore a heating pad for neck, shoulder, and back pain relief under my jacket without the controller because it provided extra warmth on a cold day. I had it buttoned while I was outdoors, but loosened when inside the store shopping. Some idiot approached me while I was in an aisle and asked if I was going to pay for something that I entered the store wearing. If someone was going to steal something, they wouldn't be stupid enough to expose it and be that conspicuous. He asked to see it and realized his obvious mistake, but should have known better. Another fool who was with the original one actually asked me to leave. That's what I recommend anyone do, if they are or see someone being treated unfairly. More and more items are locked behind glass cases -- even items less than $5. While this makes sense due to rising theft, it makes the shopping experience very inconvenient. Racially Discriminated while attempting to return 5y/o sons first Bike!!!!!! On Monday 1/10/22 around 4:15pm PT I entered the store ( I have been shopping at this location for over 20 years w/my family) through the main door closest to the return section with my sons Spiderman themed bike, Helmet, Knee pads and bell. I noticed the return line was long so I proceeded to the end of the line to wait my turn. I joined a zoom call with my sons kindergarten teacher and waited approx 35+ mins in line. Greeter (Ram) suddenly approached me while on my call in line and I told him I have 3 return items. He asked everyone this so I thought nothing of it at the time. Once I finally made it the front of the line with store associate ( Neci) I gave her THE RECIPT and she began to process my return. In the middle of processing my return Team Lead Jennifer (during the 4:15-4:30-pm Monday shift) aggressively asked me "Where is your sticker!!!???) As I was on the phone with my sons kindergarten teacher I was startled and unsure what she was talking about. She processed to yell and show me an example of a sticker. I told her I have a receipt which I handed to her and I told her I told Ram the greeter in the front I have 3 return items. In front of everyone she said she is checking the cameras and walked away. I asked Neci what is going on and she said, "I am the only one here I need to help the next person in line". Suddenly I realized I am African American and I was being racially profiled while trying to return a child's bike WITH A RECEIPT. As Neci did not attempt to help I asked her to call the manger she said Jennifer is the manager. The customers behind me were incredibly kind and also asked to speak to a manager on my behalf as they witnessed the abuse I was enduring from Jennifer and fellow Walmart employees. I then walked back to the greeter Ram to ask him where is Jennifer and to ask him, "Why didnt you give me a sticker when I told you I have 3 returns" he did not respond or state his name when I asked for his first name. After going back and forth asking Neci and Ram to call Jennifer to come back she finally approached me in front of the main doors with members of Loss Prevention. With my receipt in her hand she yelled and told me, "We will not return the bike because they could not determine which door I came in from" I again pointed to the main door I came in from w/the bike and pointed out the receipt. She told me the camera to that door is broke so they can't determine what door I came in so they will not do it. She also said I failed to state a return and get a sticker ( While she is saying this I watched 2-3 other customers come in and join the return line and complete returns with out "A sticker"). I asked what should I do and she said go to another Walmart because were not helping you. I told her I paid for this bike I have a receipt, why would I have to drive all the way to another store when I waited my turn just like everyone else. Bewildered and confused I asked for her name and everyone elses name in order to file a complaint to corporate which I did. Jennifer was incredibly rude, talked down to me like a criminal and refused to help me and asked me to leave. Luckily Jessica the store manager finally came by to talk with me. I told Jessica I was racially profiled and refused service. After hearing my story she personally walked me over to returns and completed my return and apologized. It is sad that MLK Day is 7 days away and we have people like Jennifer freely discriminating & refusing service against people of color. I hope that Walmart will take my complaint seriously and take action and offer training or remove Leads that behave so poorly.This experience left me frustrated and humiliated but luckily for me my 5 y/o son was not with me at the time because he would have witnessed his mom being racially profiled and accused of stealing his first bike. read more

One thing I always noticed that, if the item is not available for pick up in Fremont area, most of the time it will be available for a same day pickup at this location. I have picked up many orders from here so far. Find a parking. Huge parking lot, not an issue. Check in. Through the app or at the pick up counter located towards the back of the store. Never had to wait for more than a minute ever. The associate will show up, check your details, confirm the order and get you the items. Unlike other stores, they will offer you a bag if you have more items than you can carry. Top service. It's a pretty big store. Aisles are marked, if you have the walmart app installed, quite easy to find items here. Don't have much of a shopping experience here as I have bought only a few items from here. Self checkout is cool. There were long lines even for self checkout prior to pandemic, but it's quite easy these days. Overall a good experience. read more
