I have always gotten my glasses there. They turn out exactly how I tell them I want them.

A total waste of time and insurance benefits with an exam that I don't feel comfortable with the results. They refused to give me a price for the prescription that they provided unless I gave them personal information which is none of their business. I asked for a quote for the lenses that they prescribed, 5 times, and the pathetic, little, entitled, worm of an employee refused unless I would give him my phone number. I will never walk into a Lens Crafters again and would suggest that everyone else would make better choices than I did.

While the staff at this location were kind and polite, my overall experience left a lot to be desired. The team seemed genuinely confused throughout my entire visit, and the information I received was often conflicting or simply incorrect. For starters, I was told they didn't have my contact lenses in stock--but it was clear they hadn't even checked. I also had to repeatedly explain that I have insurance, which didn't seem to register with them until several reminders later. The biggest issue, however, came down to the eye exam process itself. I was originally told I had to get my eyes dilated, but when I explained that I couldn't drive afterward, they suddenly said it was "no big deal" and that I could skip it--but then implied I wouldn't get the full results without it. Confused, I had one of the staff accompany me to a different LensCrafters location to get clarification. Only then did I learn that dilation wasn't actually required after all. It was incredibly frustrating to have something so basic miscommunicated so many times. To top it all off, one staff member in particular seemed especially out of it--glassy eyes, visibly confused, and clearly not confident in what she was doing. I genuinely hope she's okay, but it didn't inspire confidence in the care being provided. In short: nice people, but they seem untrained and underinformed. It felt like no one really knew what was going on. I wouldn't return to this location.

I chose a pair of Costas. They were very expensive, but I was excited to invest in a nice pair of sunglasses. After I was fitted for them, I went back several weeks later to pick them up. I had ordered progressive lenses so that I could read and see far away. The transition of closer to far away was not good, and I could not see to read at all with them. The tech was very nice and said that she would order a new pair and have the lenses adjusted. When I went back the second time, then I could see to read, but could not see far away. The tech became very frustrated and walked away when I told her that I still could not see. She sent a different tech over to help me who said they would refund me for my glasses. I told her that I didn't want to be refunded, I just wanted to be able to see clearly out of the glasses that I was paying so much money for. She escorted me to the front, and I asked her why she was not offering me other alternatives for glasses that might work better with progressive lenses. She was dismissive and told me that she could not help me. If there are certain styles of glasses that do not work with progressive lenses, I should've been told that up front. I also expected a much higher level of customer service to try and find a pair that would work for me. I felt blamed, dismissed, and disrespected. I will not be going back. I called a few days later to speak to the office manager to share my experience and no one returned my call.

I've loved being a patient at Grove Eye Care. You know how everyone has a doctor visit they're kind…read moreof afraid of? Eye doctors used to be that for me, but after my experience with Grove Eye Care, I feel much more confident and relaxed. I had my first visit back in 2023. I was looking to start wearing contacts and to get a new glasses prescription. Booking an appointment was easy. My first visit is a bit of a blur since it's been over a year, but I did have main takeaways. Whoever it was that guided me in how to put on contacts was the kindest and most encouraging person I've met. In my experience, a lot of eye doctor visits have involved inpatient people (I can understand because I would feel inpatient hearing the same six letters over and over again). I did not feel this way with my contact teacher. She was there to support me and made me feel welcome. I highly recommend getting contacts here. The contact experience involves getting the right prescription for you with a doctor, learning how to put them on, getting trials for a week, then returning to see if you'd like to order them. I have VSP which helped with the cost and have enjoyed the Bausch and Lomb Infuse 1-Day contacts. As for eye exams themselves, on an annual check-up this week, I did have a more impatient examiner, who didn't really explain all the machines to me which I didn't mind as much because I felt more confident, but had wished she told me when bright lights were flashing. They have a machine you can pay extra for so you don't need to get your eyes dilated which is nice. My first examiner in 2023 did explain everything. I think you just need to ask. My doctor is Dr. Schwartz. She helped me with my contact journey as well as treating headaches and dry eyes. She's very direct and to the point and can answer any questions you may have. I've enjoyed having her as my doctor. During my visit this week, I explored possibly purchasing new glasses/lenses at the shop section. It was a bit out of my price range, but do know you can get your prescription for free and if you need the distance of your eyes it's a $10 charge. If you're feeling uneasy about eye doctors, this is a great place to feel more confident and comfortable with them. The parking is easy here with a lot out front. It's near Carytown. And there is a gender neutral single stall for bathrooms. I highly recommend.

I scheduled an eye exam for contacts and that process was really easy. When I showed up, everything…read morewent really smoothly. Unfortunately, they didn't have contacts in my prescription in the store, so they ordered some trials for me. The doctor decided to order me two trial pairs of contacts: one that was cheaper but was only close to my actual prescription, and one that is much more expensive but would be my actual prescription. Strangely, at the time of my appointment, they gave me a pair of contacts, each from different brands, neither of which was my correct prescription. Both of my trial pairs arrived around the same time, so I picked them up together. It turned out that one of the contacts ordered for me (the left contact from the more expensive brand) was entirely the wrong prescription and didn't work for me at all. I ended up having to wear the left contact from the cheaper brand and the right contact from the more expensive brand. The next week, they called me to let me know that another pur of trial contacts had arrived, which surprised me. I went in and it was a new pair of the expensive brand, both different prescriptions (power AND astigmatism correction) than the other pair from that brand. None of the trials worked particularly well, so I called them again to make another appt. Again, that process was super quick and easy and everyone I talked to throughout the process was super helpful. I haven't had that follow-up appointment yet, so I may update this later. But for now, I'm mostly happily with my experience here and would recommend them to other people. Edit: I had my follow-up appointment for my contacts. The doctor cleared up the mistake with my trial contacts and ordered a couple more to try to find something that works well for me (because my astigmatism is super high and my eyes are picky, not because she did anything wrong the first time). I was not charged for the follow-up contact lens appointment. Overall still very happy with this place.
