I said that I see double. And, you know what her response was? "You won't see double with your new contacts". That was a lie... I still see double and when I contacted them, they said they'll give me a different pair of contacts - with NO exam!!??? How is the doc supposed to know how to fix my double vision without another exam?!! So, I just wrote it off and since she increased my prescription by TWO points, (and I can see "fine" through my old glasses) now, I have to wear my readers if I want to see something that's less than 5 ft away. And, I was tired of trying to get it fixed. Yesterday, I went in to pick up my glasses and they're worse than the contacts!!! I still can't focus, still see double, and can't see, again, anything that's less than 5-6 ft in front of me. The gal who gave me the glasses had me read an eye chart, and I couldn't read below the 4th line and it was still double. Her response "oh, it's because you took your contacts out" (the crap ones they gave me). So, I left with still not being able to see. I was hoping it would clear up once I got home and wore them for a while, but I had to take them off and put on my old glasses. All I could see was double, and was getting a severe headache. When I put my old glasses on, the headache was relieved. Oh, and to top it off, I was told I couldn't use my existing frames, even though when I was there yesterday, the guy was using his existing frames - so that was another thing I had to pay for. I wanted to just keep my frames, not buy a new pair, so I'm really pissed about that. I'm going to go in next week, return these new glasses and my contacts. My insurance company already said that if the doc can't help me, they'll reverse the claim so I can go to a doc who actually pays attention to my "needs". So, all that to say, if you haven't been there DON'T go!! Why go to a doc who doesn't listen??

During one visit, Dr. Hooper evaluated my glasses and told me the prescription was totally wrong. I bought the glasses at his office, and the prescription was what he or Boyer prescribed. Over a year ago, I had cataract surgery by them, and within a week, I was seeing double out of my left eye. This is very dangerous, as I have to close my left eye to tell whether I'm looking at one car or two. They took no responsibility for this, which obviously was caused by the operation. I went to another appointment in February 2026 and reminded Dr. Hooper that I was still seeing double. He totally ignored that and told his assistant to schedule me for a routine exam in a year. .

I initially saw him for dry eye problems, and appreciated the prompt service, minimal waiting time, and Dr Johansen's diagnostic ability, as well as his 'listening carefully' to me, as I expressed my concerns. As the dry eye problem worsened, I saw him an additional time; he ruled out retinal problems and any glaucoma/macular degeneration risk. To be honest, I find his care to be 'superior' to that of 2 'ophthalmologists' I have seen in our city. I find the office staff to be courteous and efficient, and will definitely choose this office--and Dr Johansen's care-- again (I have a refraction appt next week!)

My eyes measurements/numbers were always off but no medical assistant nor the dr. could explain what was going on. I often got the answer of "It is age related". My last appointment was scheduled with a female I've never seen before but thought another Doctor might see something different. She was the worst ever. Did not even take the time to exam my eyes. I was so frustrated. Found a different eye doctor who took one look at my eyes and send me to a specialist in Tucson. The specialist was in shock that no one ever consulted me about eye surgery. I have a growth on my right eye that should have been removed many years ago. I'm angry over the false treatment I received at Cochise Eye and Laser and the hundreds of dollars I had to spend on different lenses and frames that never worked.
